This diner is amazing! Very friendly and welcoming staff, affordable prices, great food and pies. I got the eggs Benedict and French silk pie. Both were excellent. They have wonderful pie options and they’re made fresh. The decor is charming with a 1950s vibe that really adds to the overall experience. Highly recommend!

A True Gem – Classic Diner Experience at Its Best! This diner is an absolute treasure! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by extremely friendly and welcoming staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home. The prices are very affordable, which makes it even more enjoyable to return again and again. The food is simply fantastic — every dish I’ve tried has been full of flavor and clearly made with care. Whether you’re in the mood for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the menu offers a wide selection of options that cater to every taste. And don’t miss the cake counter — the desserts are just as delicious as the main dishes! The decor is charming and full of personality, with a unique 1950s vibe that really adds to the overall experience. It feels like stepping back in time in the best possible way. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and a nostalgic atmosphere!

This spot had been on our must-try list for a while. We’ve driven through the area before but never stopped—until now. We went on a Saturday for brunch. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, but it still took about 5–10 minutes before we were seated. We ordered coffee, a Western Omelette with cheese, a Spanish Omelette, and pancakes with orange juice for the kids. The coffee was excellent, the omelettes were decent, and the kids’ pancakes were delicious. The biscuits and toast on the side were also really good. Unfortunately, the hash browns, sausage, and bacon were disappointing. If you enjoy a 1950s-style diner vibe with friendly, welcoming staff, this place nails the atmosphere. The food, however, was a bit of a mixed bag.

Our new spot! There is such a sense of community here at this place. It truly touched my heart to be welcomed with a smile, and the customer service is outstanding! Our waitress, especially BK was truly a sweetheart! You can tell that she truly cares about her customers. The food was very well proportioned and extremely delicious!

Google
Great old school diner. It's going to sound cliché but it's a serious nostalgic diner spot complete with a pie display and counter seating. Ordered the ham breakfast, and it was delicious! All the waitresses were friendly and kept the coffee hot and topped off. 100% need to check this gem out!

It took over an hour from the moment I entered the restaurant until I left. The food looked appealing, but it was completely cold. The service was the only positive aspect of the experience, and that’s saying a lot. Overall, this place lacked in every department. My wife’s dish was untouched. I won’t be returning to this place.

Great lil hole in the wall diner! Just like the sign says, nothing but good cooking going on here! Took my family on our trip to Dallas and the staff was so welcoming and friendly. 10/10 will recommend!

Google
Old style 50's diner. First impressions, the diner is dated and in need of some TLC. Looked over their big menu and chose their Diner Cheese Burger. I wasn't thrilled that the burger and fries were sold separately but it's whatever. I was not happy with the fries. They were unsalted, cold and depressing. The burger had fresh veggies but also needed seasoning. Overall I say it was a below average cheese burger and fries. Didn't order any breakfast but we're told that there is a $0.50 uncharged for eggs so.......yeah and i think there is an automatic gratuity for 6 or more people.

Yelp
Food was good. The fried bananas and coconut cream pie were awesome. Service was great!

Yelp
This used to be a Norma's cafe! That explains all the wonderful pies you see when entering. Super fresh and beautiful pies! Love this! We bought a coconut cream pie to eat at home. We had the most wonderful waitress, Nancy. She was attentive and spot on with making sure our needs were met. (Mostly with ketchup). They don't have bottles of ketchup because somebody's, rotten, unsupervised kid filled a ketchup bottle with crayons. UGH. Could have been a lawsuit for this diner. You now have to deal with tiny cups of ketchup for dipping. How sad. Our waitress brought us sauce, Tabasco and Louisiana sauce. Personally, we're a Cholula sauce type of family. Hopefully, they will add this choice to the menu for a table offering. Everything, we ordered to eat was delicious! Hubby had the pork chops which I thought were chicken fried steak. The coating was crisp and perfect for the 2 pork chops. He loved them! Plus the mashed potatoes were 100% real potatoes! The white gravy was great. You can also choose to have brown gravy if you like. One of our kids had catfish. Our fault for not ordering it to be crispy. No biggy, the portions are gracious. Comes with cornbread. I had the burger. You'd think at a diner it would be greasy and gross. However, far from it! The bacon was crisp and the condiments on top the burger were fresh! This place is nothing fancy. Lots of nostalgia. The food is like eating at home. They do offer a senior citizen discount! I'm sure they also offer a military discount, however I did not ask. For being a "hole in the wall" restaurant, off the beaten path, I recommend this place! My family loves these kind of restaurants. No flare, and the food is always so darn good. The wait staff is impressive! The food is satisfying and the nostalgia makes this place worth a visit. March 2025

Yelp
We had breakfast/brunch at the Diner of Dallas. It was a large group. We were seated quickly. It's an old school vibe. The serve's are very fast paced. We ordered quickly, and received our food quickly. The fan favorites were the breakfast dishes. Pancakes, biscuits, sausage, ham steak. The biscuits were actually passed around the table so everyone could try how good they were. Next time I would skip the chicken fried chicken sandwich and fries, and just order the biscuits.

Yelp
I like your service you guys do good work and I like you workers very much! The Diner used to be on Midway Road right by where I live and then you guys moved on Belt line road!

Yelp
Our server Missy was awesome! Everyone was really cool at this place. It is very 50's forward. Love it! Forgot to photo my food. Sometimes I'm a knucklehead

Yelp
I found this diner one day, and it's like something out of a classic movie! It's got that carhop vibe The food is amazing, and the service is top-notch. The servers are seasoned pros who genuinely love their jobs, which is a rare sight these days. I've read some of the older reviews, and I'm surprised to see how some people can be so negative. Everyone has their ups and downs, but I highly recommend giving this place a chance.

Yelp
Just had a take out delivery order. Very disappointing, I'm sorry to say. I'm hoping it's just a bad day. Been craving beef, which I rarely eat, ordered chicken fried steak, to thin and full of gristle. I ate maybe an 1/8 and stopped. The peas and mashed potatoes were good, though the peas needed salt. This is one place I don't want to have bad food, have eaten there, on & off for years.

Yelp
Good ol' diner with nostalgic decor. Nothing fancy. Easy parking. Seat yourself. Good size menu. I got migas ($10.75) that were good (flavor & portion size). Heavy on the jalapenos & cheese but good. Served with two large flour tortillas (you can also get corn) and picante sauce. Service was quick. The staff work together to keep your coffee cup filled and were friendly & attentive. Various Pies available at the counter that looked good.

Yelp
This was my first visit here, but definitely not my last. I would describe the atmosphere as "Sunday lunch at your Aunt's house". Our waitress was helpful, super funny, and attentive! The food is the epitome of southern comfort food. We tried the fried pickles appetizer, and I had the chicken tender entree. They were both delicious. Both the tenders and the pickles were not overly breaded. This is the place to go if you need the equivalent of a hug for your tummy!

Yelp
The ambiance is great and fun, I love classic dinner vibes. The service was also really sweet, our waitress was so sweet and chill. I like the food, classic American, but it hits so well. And of course I got a milkshake, and mmm that was good.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here today for the first time. I love the ambiance! It reminds me of the diner back in a day in a very nostalgic way. I love supporting the independent businesses verses chain. They have so many items on their menu, but I decided on Migas since that's one of my favorite dishes. It was so delicious. I've had many Migas, but this one was definitely on my top 3! The salsa was spicy and delicious! My server, Miss Penny Ann was so friendly and attentive. She asked if I wanted dessert and I asked her what she had and she named so many desserts they offer and the last one was Banana split, but I didn't want a big one, so she made me a personal little one just for me!! The other staff and the owners are so nice and welcoming! My visit to this establishment was a total success and great experience. I will definitely return to try other items on my next return.

Yelp
The food was good but I think there was a roach leg in my food :/ Bathrooms in desperate need of a deep clean Service was great, workers were awesome

Andrea S.

Yelp
Lovely staff waited on us. Food was hot and well prepared. Rolls were delicious! We purchased a slice of cake to take home, on our way out, only to find that it was more icing than cake.

Christa G.

Yelp
service here was not great. we sat down waited for about 10 minutes and no one came up to our table. although a waitress walked by 3 times to clean off another table. the table behind us had their waitress come up to their table about times and still we were not acknowledge. I think they should have a host to sit people down instead of sitting ourselves to prevent this from happening again.

Kelly M.

Yelp
I like this place for breakfast. Their chicken fried chicken and sides are decent. Tonight I ordered the fish tacos and they were the worst I've ever had. Last week I tried their fried catfish and it was really creamy under the crust. I don't think fish should be creamy. Get it together The Diner. You can't afford to be selling bad meals on beltline with 47 other options within 3 miles.

Clarence G.

Yelp
It used to be our favorite place for breakfast but it has gone DOWNHILL!. Today, neither my eggs or potatoes were cooked fully. The meat had be sitting for awhile as it was luke warm and hard as a rock. The pancakes which were the best tasted like bread. The waitress never came back to fill our coffee. The prices have gone up 40%. To top it off, the bill comes without details of what you are being charged for. Just a total with Tax. They have lost us as a customer.
google avatar

Borgshi T.

Yelp
The food was the last batch of the day so the rolls, cornbread and biscuits were past their prime. There were lots of people in my party and everyone seemed happy with their food, the portions, and the speed of service.

Yelp
For all the bad reviews, it's a diner yall. An old diner. Super casual. Go with the flow kind of place. It was our first time going and we will absolutely be going back. There's so much to choose from so everyone can find something they like. Prices are still good even with Covid/inflation. Our server was great. Came around right when we needed her and helped us with any questions we had. Food was delicious! We went on a chilly night and it was great having warm meal. The pancakes were probably the best I've had in a long time. Also the ranch on my side salad was the best ranch dressing! It was made perfectly. Highly suggest checking out this local spot!

OK Thomas A.

Yelp
Meh. Sorry wanted to like it as its original kitchen but could not. Reasons... Coffee. No half and half or dairy. Had to ask for milk. Basic eggs breakfast. Cold bacon no potatoes for 10. Toast. Mrs bairds? No butter. Only margarine. This is breakfast, not rocket science. Why such high ratings? Waiting for crossroads to return.

Yelp
Classic '50s diner dive. Nostalgic decor. Definitely could've been cleaner. Friendly, efficient service. Two breakfast plates, 2 eggs, biscuits and 3 strips of bacon and 2 coffees. No hash browns or potatoes. Food was ok, eggs were cold but biscuits were good. Slow to come out. $25 plus $5 tip. WAY too expensive for a couple bacon & egg plates with no hash browns. Same breakfast is half this price a few blocks away at Waffle House. I wouldn't return for breakfast but might to try the plate lunches.

Yelp
6-30-2022 Dinner with a friend, very quiet on a Thursday night. Greeted with a sign that says seat yourself. Drink orders taken first then another waitress comes over for the order. Our waitress was very patient. My friend took a work phone call shortly after we received our drinks and was on the call way to long. Our super friendly waitress came over a few times to check on us and was patient while we all waited for the end of the work call. They do not have Diet Dr Pepper or Coke Zero. The specials are on a chalk board hanging from the ceiling. Pies are displayed as you walk in. Several tables and booths available plus a low countertop with bar stools. We ordered burgers. Turkey with Swiss and bacon cheeseburger. Burgers do not come with fries. You can add Fries for $1.75, tater tots for $1.95 or sweet potato fries for undetermined amount of up charge (not on menu). The turkey burger comes with huge chunks of avocado. I removed the Dijon mustard and cranberry, and added the sweet potato fries with a side of ranch to dip. I also requested sautéed mushrooms (for an up-charge, the waitress wasn't sure if it would be $1 or $1.50), on the turkey burger. After waiting so long to order, the food took a very long time to come out. Especially when you consider only two other tables, that did not have food, were in the restaurant. The turkey burger was served without the sautéed mushrooms. The waitress offered to have them made on the side and I declined, she said she would take them off the bill. The hand written bill is not detailed so I don't know for sure. My companion ordered the Lemon meringue pie. She said It was okay, the taste was not what she was expecting. I don't eat sweets very often so I enjoyed it. The bill was surprisingly higher than I thought for a couple of diner burgers. Would prefer to have the amounts itemized on the hand written bill. I am not certain how an $8.50 Turkey burger, sweet potato fries $? and a diet coke turns into $16.50. They may charge for soda refills but again the bill wasn't detailed and the online menu doesn't indicate. We paid and left a 25% tip. I remember coming to this location many years ago, and you can see how much this place is in need of a full deep cleaning. The diner was not my choice for dinner this night, the food was good, but most likely would not go back.

Yelp
Terrific old restaurant with a 50s rock and roll theme. Extensive menu, excellent food, bakery, & service. Don't let the building e terror and parking lot defer you, great inside and good eating!

Yelp
I don't see how this place is 3.5 stars. Alas, let's continue shall we? Went there on a Saturday during Covid. Booths and tables were taped off to maintain a social distancing and servers wore masks. You can't go in unless you're wearing a mask either and have to keep it on unless you're eating or drinking, which I appreciated. Let me just say that everything we ordered was super delicious and our server was great! When she found we'd never tried their biscuits and we had ordered a side of biscuits and gravy, she threw an extra biscuit for us. Those homemade biscuits were something else: buttery and flaky. The sausage gravy was nice and thick with hint of pepper. Those two combined were spectacular. We ordered the pancake breakfast, the chicken fried steak breakfast and the Napoleon Omelette. Bacon was great and thick, eggs cooked to order, and buttermilk pancakes large and fluffy. My chicken fried steak was good and those home potatoes, just DEVINE-everyone was reaching over to my plate for some. The true gem was that Napoleon Omelette. It has everything, even avocado and looks like a burger. We were skeptical at first but man, jokes on us. We kept taking bites of our son's omelette-it was just do damn delicious. Really want to come back next time I'm up here. They really know how to make your stomach happy.

Yelp
We'd been here when it was Norma's, and were excited that it had changed. We hoped the ownership changed, but the only thing different is the name. The food is ok, the pancakes are awful and the place is filthy. There's a layer of greasy dust on all if the knickknack decorations. The bathrooms are worse than gas station bathrooms and my silverware had lipstick on it. The owner is a nasty woman who I have never seen smile, and overall it was a very negative experience.
google avatar

Yelp
The family and I went back to try breakfast. The eggs were fine, and the country ham was ... well, country ham. Way too salty for my blood pressure, but then I don't get that very often. My wife had ordered the french toast which was very bland and flavorless. My biggest complaint is the crime they committed against the hash browns. First, the portion size on the hash browns was a bit on the small side. Second, my hash browns were way over done. Third, my wife's hash browns were a bit underdone. A pleasant middle road would have been nice. Finally, the coffee was meh, but the biscuits were excellent. On the whole it was a decent meal, but there are other diners in Carrollton more worthy of the business.

Yelp
We were visiting this nondescript sector of Dallas looking for some cheap construction materials, and in the intense TX heat (110F?!) the family got thirsty. We decided to stop here for a quick drink and maybe a light snack, since it looked kind of curious, like those old Americana style diners you see in the movies, romcoms and horror alike. When we walked in the ambience was exactly what you would expect... vintage diner vibes all over, top to bottom. A beautiful sight indeed, like opening an old guitar case or the dash of an old ford truck. Our waitress Susan was sugar sweet and very welcoming. Took her time to explain items on the menu, make recommendations and set our party at ease. As soon as I saw onion rings and calamari on the menu, our fates were sealed. Anywhere in the world I go to, I always make it a point to try these two items if available, regardless of cost. We were gonna have to try a few things. We ordered the onion rings, calamari, chicken fried (Susan recommended) chicken, blackened catfish and French silk chocolate pie. The onion rings and calamari were simply perfect. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly fried. The calamari especially was succulent and tender on the inside and crisp and hot on the outside. The best onion rings and calamari I've had, and I've tried at least 100 versions of each at home and across india and the us. The blackened catfish was served on a bed of Cajun rice and again, cooked to perfection. So moist and tender, well seasoned and not a hint of that gamy flavor catfish sometimes has. I couldn't understand how they could knock these dishes so out of the park. 3 home runs so far. The chicken fried chicken was initially pretty lackluster on first bite. "Aha!" I thought to myself, "we've found their weakness". But no, I had asked for gravy on the side and forgotten to add it to the chicken before eating it. With the gravy, it was incredibly satisfying. The gravy was again the best gravy I've eaten in the us, although granted I've tried very few gravies (under 10). The French silk chocolate pie (also Susan's recommendation) was simply excellent. Very chocolatey, but not overly sweet like the typical American dessert. We ordered several of the items again to take home. We needed evidence when we told the rest of our family about this place. They have all you can eat fried catfish on Friday nights. It's too bad we had eaten to our fullest by 4:40pm. I'll be back. Can't wait. Setting 10/5 Service 10/5 Food 10/5 Incredibly fast service! And the mens restroom was clean!

Yelp
The Diner of Dallas! I pass by this Resturant all the time, and finally got to enjoy some food here! My favorite thing about this Resturant was the decor! It was very cute. The service was alright, it took awhile for us to finally get a server to get us some drinks and order our food. I got a grilled cheese sandwich with tots. The food was good. Nothing that disappointed. The price was just right. Overall 3/5 experience.

Yelp
I brought the family here to soak in the nostalgic vibes this diner has to offer. It's like going back in time with all the black and white photos, pop art decor, and style. We all had a great time. My fiancé ordered the country fried steak and eggs and they were delicious. Get the biscuits for sure when you come as they are huge, soft, and delicious. I had the patty melt and it was one of the best I have had in a while. The rye bread makes it so so tasty! We will return in the future for some good ole dinner food and ambiance.
google avatar

Doug D.

Yelp
I came here for my birthday lunch and I absolutely loved it. Best diner that I've been to in the area. I ordered the double chilli cheese burger open face with a hash brown. It came pretty fast and I liked my waitress but that burger was a different level. One of my favorite ever, it was so good and filling and that hash brown was just amazing. I can't recommend it enough. I will be back soon, it looks really cool too, effort definitely went in to designing this place.
google avatar

Mandie Z.

Yelp
I have been here twice once pre COVID & once on Sunday during COVID. Both times I ordered the same thing, the patty melt. Something about the patty melt from a diner on rye bread I just can't resist. No fries just extra sliced dill pickles. In both instances it was amazing. It just melted in my mouth. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak w/broccoli & cheese rice & mashed potatoes. He said it was great but his broccoli & cheese rice is better. (But we aren't going off hi review only mine) LOL . Our friend Oscar ordered a huge breakfast with steak & eggs & biscuits & gravy. We asked him if it was good is he could do was shake his head. LOL he practically licked his plate, then bought a peanut butter pie to go. This place is old. It has old decor, but the food is good & the follow the guidelines for social distancing. So go get you some grub.

Yelp
We were visiting and decided to stop and eat here. Their breakfast is very good. I had the Chicken Fried Steak, it was delicious. My kids had the Diner Waffle, and it was nice and fluffy and yummy. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly.

Yelp
This place was packed to the gills with people! The hostess did her best to accommodate our stroller with our son asleep in it. So there is that. Now the food: HOLY CRAP IT WAS AWESOME!!! Chicken fried steak you could cut with your fork and the ratio of batter to meat was perfect! The rolls were the size of softballs! Oh...and did I mention it was all homemade? People...what are you waiting for? GO HERE!!! Just not on Sundays at 9am.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
I believe that anyone that rated this place over 3 stars had too much to drink. Eggs were over cooked, biscuits were pasty and the gravy was awful. Just go to an IHOP or something. This is not good old fashioned diner food. It has the menu but does not deliver the results

Patrick Y.

Yelp
Excellent service, mushroom Swiss burger was perfectly prepared. Tater tots were numerous and crispy.

Yelp
Dont show up on a Sunday at 1:40 expecting to be seated when they close at 2 pm. We were turned away unless it was to go. I thought restaurant and servers were struggling.? Apparently not here.

Marlene O.

Yelp
We took out of state family and friends here and everyone loved it. For a Saturday evening, not crowded at all. First of all our waitress Nancy was so helpful, polite and fun. The only thing better than her was the food. Everyone had something different and all was great. The homemade pies were excellent as well. We loved the look of the diner as it looked like an old nostalgic diner. Cute decor. We will eat here again for sure.

Clarence G.

Yelp
The Diner used to be our favorite place for breakfast but they have changed dramatically over the last 2 years! The food is not nearly as much as they used to give per plate and the quality has gone down hill. The service was terrible! We had to ask several times for more coffee and the waitress gave us the wrong bill. They have taken to putting the total on the bill without listing the cost and taxes. You have no idea if it is correct or not. We'll have to find a new place for breakfast.

Sheryll B.

Yelp
We came for a late lunch. The waitress admitted that she had forgotten us, then the kitchen did not have what we ordered first, and finally, we got charged almost twice the menu price for a special request. Between all this confusion, it took almost an hour and a half for food. Food was good but no accommodation was made for the lousy service and lack of explanation of the pricing.
google avatar

Danita B.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience here on Memorial Day. Attentive staff, perfectly cooked over easy eggs with nicely done extra crispy bacon and crispy shredded hash browns. Added a side of grits and they were good, too. Didn't try the coffee, but I will next time. This is my new favorite breakfast place. Nice surroundings, tables not too close together, counter seating, booths and regular tables. Easy parking. All fits the bill for me.
google avatar

Rob J.

Yelp
This place is a nice diamond in the city! We enjoyed the ol school atmosphere and old fashioned service. My fiance and I will be coming back!

Angel H.

Yelp
The two stars are for the wait staff, not the food. Our waitress was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. The restaurant itself has a really cool, classic diner ambience to it. However, it becomes apparent when you walk in that the cleanliness isn't the best. All of the decorations are dusty, the floors are sticky both in and out of the restrooms, sticky tables, and so on. It was very crowded when we arrived, so we expected the food to be good. (To clarify: our expectations weren't very high. We weren't expecting much more than ordinary but good diner food.) All of our food was cooked incorrectly in some way. Perhaps the kitchen staff were overwhelmed with the lunch rush or we just had a bad experience, but all of our food (with the exception of stuff like fruit, biscuits, and macaroni & cheese) was either undercooked or burnt. Aside from that, it was nothing impressive. I hate to say it, but you'd get much better, much less bland food just going somewhere like ihop. Most of us basically picked at our meals but still, many hours later, we're fending off a feeling of illness. Hopefully not food poisoning. I don't think we'll be returning.

Yelp
Classic, historic diner, with all the pros and cons that come with the territory. Lively, crowded atmosphere, extensive menu of American diner classics (with some fun surprises!), friendly wait staff, relatively clean, relatively noisy, and an absolutely blistering pace. I came here for a father's day brunch with my mom and grandfather, and we were seated immediately, which was terrific. There was some confusion over who was supposed to take our drink orders, but we got squared away soon enough. The coffee was competent, and our waitress was delightful, and I was excited to try the breakfast enchiladas, which is something I've never seen on a menu anywhere before. When our food arrived was when things got a little less impressive - both my mother and I had ordered shredded hashbrowns, extra-crispy, but we got country potatoes which were kind of cold. Mom re-ordered hers, and they came out relatively quickly, but were definitely not extra-crispy. My grandfather ordered the mini-quiche, which is another fairly unique offering, but the portion was smaller than he was expecting (as opposed to the absolutely massive breakfast enchiladas), and the billing isn't *quite* accurate - it's really an egg scramble served on a pre-baked pastry shell rather than a true quiche. Still, everything was tasty, the coffee was plentiful, and I would come here again, particularly if I were looking for a straight-up American diner fix - just preferably not during rush time, since it took us about 15 minutes to flag down our gal and get our check whenever we were finally ready to wrap up and head out.

Yelp
They've got it all! Good breakfast and great lunch specials, blue plate is any meat 2 sides and a corn muffin and yeast roll, what a deal.

Yelp
I made the mistake of reading all the positive reviews of this dining establishment, and I assumed it would be a great place to eat. I won't ever step foot into this restaurant ever again. The service was good, prompt, and attentive. I ordered the Giant Bacon Cheeseburger, and I knew when the waiter never asked at what temperature I wanted it cooked, I was in trouble. My bill was $17.00 and that was for a fountain drink, the burger, and an order of tater tots. The burger itself was super greasy and bland. Definitely could have spent my money more wisely at Whataburger or Burger House. The restaurant itself? Zero out of ten. The floors look like they haven't been cleaned in decades there was trash everywhere, and the grout was so black from the floors being so filthy. The ceiling was sagging from multiple water leaks, and the dust that was caked onto the pancake plate hanging from the ceiling was disgusting. The walls adjacent to the kitchen entrance had black grease stains. I definitely won't be returning to this hole in the wall.

Yelp
Not in the nicest area of Addison but the diner itself is like a trip back in time. Very retro, comfortable and cheerful. The place was clean, neat and tidy. Even the floors which is a tough thing to keep clean in a diner in the rain. The service is super and friendly. I never wanted for anything. The coffee was really tasty and fresh. I had the eggs migas. The flour tortillas were hot and yummy. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the veggies were fresh and not over cooked. The salsa was spicy but not super hot. The food was served very quickly after I placed my order. The menu has lots of choices! I really enjoyed my meal and the cheerful staff. Great place for families too!

Yelp
We've been going to The Diner for years and recently went and surprised by the large price increase! Not only that our ticket was not itemized and did not match the menu prices. We always go for breakfast and a favorite used to be around $7 was not $13.99. We had 4 on our ticket - 2 had biscuits and gravy with coffee and 2 had 2 egg plate with toast and coffee and our bill was $65. We were not expecting the bill to be this high especially for breakfast when it was never this high in the past. We had additional people with us and their ticket for 2 adults with 1 child plate was $55.00. I would have rather spent this kind of money on lunch instead of breakfast... how can 4 eggs, some bacon and biscuit and gravy cost $65? Unfortunately we will not be going back with these prices - we can't afford it.

Yelp
If you're looking for fancy, this isn't the place to go. BUT if you're wanting some delicious diner food like chicken fried steak with gravy and good burgers and fries with some pie at the end. This place delivers! Food was classic and inside the place makes you feel like you went back in time. Great service too.
