Well, well, well, Golf... We meet again. This time it will be me DOUBLE BOGEYING you on the back nine! [sinister laugh]
As fate would have, Golf got the best of me yet again. However, unlike every other time before when I've played golf, or mini-golf, or went to a driving range, or played Golden Tee, or swung my club at the simulator at Frog Hair, or played Frisbee Golf, or Putt-Putt for the fun of it, or played golf on the Nintendo Wii, or played paintball illegally on a golf course after night fall and spent the entire night trying to dodge the cops and/or drunk grown men swimming in South Park Lake (true story); this time I was bested by Golf with The Dome's new Toptracer virtual golf game!
There are 20 bays equipped with motion cameras that capture your swing/golf ball projections. You can physically hit your ball and the game shows you where you would wind up (speed, carry, distance, accuracy, etc.). You can virtually play golf with up to three other friends for a grand total of $30 an hour which includes a bucket of balls. Make it $60 for two hours and 2 buckets like we did. Further, buckets of beer are another $15 for good measure.
There's really only one downside: this place is FULL of people looking to get some good virtual golf in, meaning you need to book your appointment well in advance. That and it makes hitting the kid in the caged golf cart cleaning up the balls not as much fun as it once was.
For me, at the end of the day I didn't double bogey all the holes. I had to concede a few holes as well. #winning
