I live in Golden and this is the only place I recommend guests stay at! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Historic Boutique Gem in the Heart of Golden, Colorado If you’re searching for “charming Golden Colorado B&B”, look no further than The Dove Inn, a Victorian-style boutique bed & breakfast with modern amenities and unbeatable location—just half a block from downtown Golden’s Main Street and a stone’s throw from iconic attractions like Coors Brewery and the Foothills Art Center. Location & Atmosphere: Walkable, Cozy, Historic Guests consistently praise its prime downtown location, making shopping, dining, and exploring Golden a breeze—I loved that we could walk into town. Built in 1866, the inn blends old-world Victorian charm with modern comforts, transporting visitors into a nostalgic yet refreshed retreat. Comfort & Rooms: Thoughtful and Inviting With just ten thoughtfully designed air-conditioned rooms—including suites and a carriage house—each space offers privacy, cozy furnishings, and creature comforts like refrigerators, microwaves, and even dishwashers. The soaking tubs and comfortable beds are a highlight—one stay honestly felt like being in my own bed at home. Seamless Stay: Automated, Efficient, Relaxed Forget long check-ins. The Dove Inn uses a fully automated check-in system, sending access codes via text or email—ideal for late arrivals. This made my arrival incredibly easy and stress-free. Amenities & Community Vibe A self-serve continental breakfast awaits each morning—granola, yogurt, pastries, and locally roasted coffee from Huckleberry, Coda, and Two Rivers. The inviting common areas—including a cozy living space, kitchen setup, and a sunny front patio—make for a perfect spot to relax, read, or mingle. Top-Rated Cleanliness & Amenities The inn’s immaculate cleanliness and thoughtful facilities stand out. The bathrooms are spotless, the lobby and kitchen pristine, and everything feels fresh and well-maintained. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, bicycle rentals, air conditioning, daily housekeeping, and nearby hiking or fishing opportunities. Truly, everything you need is right there. Minor Notes—but Still a Must-Stay The only small things to note: the coffee machine occasionally needed a reset, and while the breakfast is fresh and delicious, a few hot items like eggs or extra fruit would make it perfect. Parking in downtown Golden can also be tricky—meters have strict rules and two-hour limits—but a convenient garage is just a short stroll away.

Oh my gosh! We absolutely LOVED the Dove Inn! My fiancé booked this place to stay after our engagement in Golden and it was perfect! The staff was so kind to let our friends in early to decorate the room for us! The beds were so comfy and cozy, the access to snacks, drinks, tea, and breakfast were great. And they had an AMAZING homemade pumpkin bread that was to die for. It was clean, cute and cozy! Also, love the proximity to town. Would absolutely recommend a stay here!

What a hidden gem!! Quiet street, but minutes from downtown Golden. Easily walkable to town and the brewery. Beautiful accommodations. We LOVED our spacious room! I can’t say enough great things about The Dove Inn. From the well stocked kitchen, to the nicely appointed rooms. The hosts thought of everything. Quiet, clean, spacious accommodations. The outdoor seating area was perfect for the beautiful evenings. The full kitchen was perfect to store a few things we bought at the store. Tasty breakfast pastries- fresh fruit- perfect before heading out on a hike. I’m so thankful to have found The Dove Inn and will most definitely be back!! Thank you to the hosts for putting in the time and effort to maintain such a lovely place for our weekend getaway. Location near eateries/hiking/grocery store- we did not rent a car and were able to walk to and from everywhere we needed in Golden. Walkway along the river is a beautiful area!

Google
This was a real find! Excellent location: walking to everything! Lovely interior design with plenty of comfortable shared spaces both inside and out. The kitchen is very well stocked and available for your use. There are plenty of breakfast options available, self-served on your own schedule. Gabi is a fabulous innkeeper: friendly and helpful but never intrusive. We look forward to returning again!

Google
We stayed at the Dove Inn for a few days during our trip, and it was lovely! It was central and walking distance within the entire downtown of Golden, which is exactly what we were looking for (while also keeping it affordable)! The complementary breakfast was nice, especially with their homemade breads and muffins! They provided many fruits, drinks, coffee/tea, and filtered water, which was nice for on the go! We didn't speak too much to the staff as they didn't seem up to conversations, but Gabi did help us resolve a tub drainage issue when we called about it! (There was nothing wrong with it. The drain just wasn't open). Our room was very quaint and adorable 🌸 I do think some hooks for hanging jackets would be helpful! Overall, it was a very cute place in a lovely area. I would stay here again to try some of the things we didn't get to do in the area! Food recs: Humble House was SO GOOD along with Woody's Pizza AYCE, Trailhouse burgers, and Thai Golden right across the street!

This bed-and-breakfast is an absolute gem 💎! My husband and I loved it so much during our first visit that we had to come back—and it did not disappoint. The charm of this place is unmatched, from the beautifully decorated, rooms to the cozy, serene atmosphere. Its location is fantastic, close to incredible restaurants serving amazing food and cocktails. The patio is a lovely spot to relax, especially with the holiday decor that makes everything feel extra special. The fridge is thoughtfully stocked with delicious breakfast items, making mornings effortless and perfect. The rooms are incredibly private and peaceful—you don’t hear a thing, not even street noise. It’s the ultimate retreat for relaxation, with comfortable beds, clean linens, and spotless spaces. It has just the right amount of amenities to make your stay comfortable without feeling overwhelming. We’ve truly fallen in love with this place and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, charming getaway!

Google
We really enjoyed our stay at The Dove Inn. We liked the privacy of the carriage house and easy access to the hot tub. Lots of variety for the serve yourself breakfast items, even eggs. The carriage house had a kitchen so we could make our own breakfast. We had a few issues that were dealt with effectively by the owners/staff.

Yelp
The moment I pulled up to The Dove Inn I knew I was going to love my stay! The house is beautiful, and vibrant tulips greeted my arrival. The room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable! The kitchen is well stocked. The coffee bar is incredible and was one of my favorite parts of the house! I enjoyed how walkable Golden was, and The Dove Inn is conveniently located. I can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
My fiancé and I really enjoyed our stay! It's was such a seamless and welcoming check-in and check-out. Access to the kitchen really made the place feel like home. We LOVED the deep, soaking, stand-alone tub! The chase/couch was extremely comfy and the bath towels by Comphy were superb. It's also very conveniently located. Our recommendations: Softer tissue and updated carpet would help. Aside from that, a superb experience!

Yelp
We recently came here for a mini "staycation" and fell in love with the place. The details are really what makes this place so unique. They did a great job remembering the age of the house and keeping true to that. You can see all sorts of cool antiques throughout. The whole process of checking in is completely automated which makes it super convenient. You get a code to the front door and your room so when you get there you can just go straight up to your room. My favorite part was easily the bathtub! Not all of the rooms have bathtubs so make sure the one you're staying in has one and I promise you won't be disappointed. The location is also perfect. You're right in the heart of historic downtown Golden and can walk to tons of restaurants and shopping.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed every moment at Dove Inn, which I'll describe as Victorian charm meets contemporary style and convenience. Every little detail of the Dove Inn is carefully thought through incl. the booking, breakfast logistics, and the "make your own" coffee station off the kitchen, which had a "how to" video and three different freshly roasted coffee bean selections. I've never made my own coffee from scratch before, but I did at the Dove Inn and it was pretty cool. Additionally, the Dove Inn's location is half a block from Golden's main downtown strip (Washington Ave) and across the street from a lovely Thai restaurant that my wife and I adored, Thai Gold. The best words to describe Dove Inn are "boutique", "one-of-a-kind", and "charming." My wife and I will be back.

Yelp
Cute BnB. Great Location! Breakfast was below average. The coffee was yummy but we couldn't understand why there wasn't just a nice old fashion coffee machine with multiple cups? The rooms are all so tiny. If I was staying here by myself in the room, it would be fine. With a partner, it really is just too small.

Marc I.

Yelp
Great location in downtown Golden, room was very clean and self check-in was smooth and felt secure. However breakfast spread was weak (even for a continental breakfast) which was self serve yogurt and stale pastries, and bed was super creaky. Would recommend for a single night in Golden, but no more than that

Yelp
I absolutely love this boutique inn! It was so easy to self-check in and out. The lobby is so homey and they have everything you need to make coffee, tea or to have a snack. We stayed in the Queen Anne Suite. I love how it is decorated and that there is a comfy couch where you could relax and read. On top of all this, Dove Inn is located in the heart of Golden. There are so many great restaurants and bars to walk to. The creek is so pretty and is so fun to walk/bike/tube around there. It's also a great location to drive to red rocks or Denver! I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Where to begin...? We LOVED our stay at the Dove Inn! I've stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years, and I can honestly say that staying here tops the list of my fav b&bs! I loved the keyless entry concept. When our room was ready, we received a text and an email with a code to the front door, as well as a code to our room. Such an easy process! Upon entering, our room looked and smelled fresh and clean. The decor was spot on with the vibe of the inn. My bf and I were thrilled with our room, and we kept commenting on how much we want to have a bathroom like the one in the Serenity Suite! The toiletry items provided felt of high quality, and I was very excited about the complimentary bath bomb placed near the bathtub! (I used to work in an all-natural bath and soap store, and this bath bomb was LEGIT.) The bed was soooo comfy, and the sheets were so soft! The Serenity Suite is at the back of the inn, so it was incredibly quiet and peaceful... Just what we were looking for! The breakfast downstairs is self-serve, which is nice in a sense that you don't HAVE to be downstairs at a certain time. There's yogurt, granola, almond milk and such in the fridge, and you can make yourself some toast and jam or almond butter. My bf is a coffee connoisseur, so he was pumped about all the coffee options available to make. I was all about the tea. Plus, there's cold brew and kombucha on tap. Also, there are pastries on the counter that are provided by Cafe 13, a local spot around the corner from the inn. (The apple cinnamon one is delicious!) The only tricky part is the parking, but it is what it is for the location, haha! There's 2 hour parking out front and free parking on 14th St between Ford and Jackson, I think. Also, there's a parking garage around the corner on Jackson. All in all, we were VERY happy with our stay! Before we left we were even talking about how we can't wait to stay there again! I'll miss everything about this place...til next time, Dove Inn!

Yelp
Slight hiccup in getting our check in instruction. Bed was extremely squeaky but we genuinely enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
Such a cozy and amazing place! The location can't be beat. We were able to walk through the restaurants and shops conveniently in downtown Golden, and it was a very short walk back to the inn. Our room - the Shakespeare Room - was accessed on the outside of the main house and included a cute patio with table. The main house has a community kitchen that was super clean and stocked with waters, yogurts, juice, cold brew, and you can grind your own coffee. The door locks are automated - you get your door code and the main house door code emailed to you prior to arrival. It made everything very easy and simple. We would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I will never not stay here when I'm visiting Golden. The MOST gracious owners and staff, generous kitchen offerings (like, kombucha draft and fresh fruits and cheeses available to you all of the time) and beautiful rooms and furnishings. It's literally at the center of all of Golden, so no need to drive anywhere. Sigh, take me back. I hereby submit my proposal for the Fosters to adopt me and let me live in the Serenity Room.

Yelp
The perfect spot for our small wedding! We feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon The Dove Inn. Ashley was most helpful. She gave us a tour of the facilities and each room. The kitchen is top notch and the fireplace in the living room made for a great altar. Renting the entire inn for the night was an easy decision and it worked out beautifully for our friends and family. Everyone raved about their rooms and the proximity to our dinner spot downtown was super convenient. Thank you for helping to make our wedding awesome!

Yelp
This place is AMAZING. Before we had even left, we were planning a trip back. The location is perfect. Right in downtown Golden, walking distance to any restaurant, brewery or shop you could hope for but nestled on a quiet street. The space is gorgeous. They thought of everything. From the fully stocked kitchen with cold brew, kombucha and tasty breakfast treats (with GF options) to the luxury bath products. The whole space feels so homey - comfortable, cozy and so well decorated. Love the mix of beautiful antiques with the fresh, renovated rooms. The bed was perfect. The bathroom was beautiful. And we loved the front porch and sitting area out front. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was like a completely fresh take on a traditional bed and breakfast Can't even wait to make our way back to the Dove Inn! I have a feeling it will be a regular stop for us on our future trips to Colorado!

Yelp
I'm a Denver resident who has been to Golden many times but I don't feel like I'd truly "been" to Golden until my staycation at The Dove Inn. The keyless entry made me feel right at home and the proximity to downtown Golden lit my extroverted, wanderlusty heart right up! The decor, atmosphere and attention to detail coupled with the intimacy/coziness set this boutique hotel apart for me. I was completely charmed by my short stay and definitely plan to escape here more often.

Yelp
I wanted to surprise my wife with a special trip for our 10th anniversary. After lots of searching I came upon the Dove Inn in Golden. Its ratings were very high, and I had luckily began my planning months ahead, so I had my choice of rooms. Since it was a very special anniversary, I opted for the nicest room they had: The Aspen Suite. It's a large room with a decent bathroom that included a jacuzzi tub in the room. The innkeeper at the time, Elizabeth, was very knowledgeable about the home's storied history and sat with us a few times and talked about various parts of how she had found the home and the restoration she'd done. It's my understanding there are new innkeepers that took over shortly after our departure. Can't wait to see what they do since it looks like there is a lot of construction going on. The breakfasts were really great for our two night stay. The first breakfast was a french toast, and the second one was a egg casserole with potatoes inside. It wasn't trying to be too fancy, and it was just right. One of the best breakfasts we've had at a B and B. There were small refrigerators throughout where you could store snacks and leftovers. There are always snacks downstairs too, like homemade cookies, or candy bars. The stairs to the second floor are quite steep, but that's part of the charm. We did get a chance to wander through the other rooms before the evening of our second night, and they are all quite cute and have their own charm. The location is quite nice, just on the outskirts of town, and within walking distance to everything. That's part of the charm here. Parking is on street, but it's not too difficult to find a spot, and if you want, wait until the evening then you can park even closer.

Yelp
I've stayed at boutique inns all around the world, and the Dove Inn is absolutely one of my favorites! Located just a couple blocks from the shops and restaurants of downtown Golden, the inn is charming, comfortable, and stylish. It was recently remodeled to incorporate modern amenities (I loved the sleek kitchen, as well as the nitro cold brew and kombucha on tap!!) while still retaining a classic Victorian feel through eclectic antiques. But it's the little details that truly made the Dove Inn feel like home. The freestanding soaking tubs (and lavender bath bombs!), fresh macaroons and chocolates, and design elements like rustic shiplap, Edison bulbs, and subway tile felt luxurious. Also, there's WiFi and TVs outfitted with Rokus, so you have enough creature comforts to want to kick back and stay awhile. In fact, my husband and I loved our visit so much that we returned to celebrate our anniversary! If you're planning to visit Golden, or if you just want a quick getaway, I highly recommend the Dove Inn! We can't wait to return a third time!

Yelp
Okay, I haven't stayed here but want to. The reservation page says like $100 - $120 for some rooms. But when I put my dates in for 4 nights the cost shows over $1100 per stay. Not understanding how this works. There is no way to call and inquire about the discrepancy. I wrote a note on the site but no answer yet. I searched Yelp under reservations for answers but don't see any. HELP.

Yelp
This place is darling!!! We were able to stay because of a donation to a charity auction which is a triple win because the charity benefitted (Hands of the Carpenter), I got a great overnight with my husband, and now I'm going to tell all my visitors and friends about these generous small business owners. Beautiful room, excellent amenities, gorgeous common space with coffee, snacks, and superb location, walking to everything Golden has to offer!!

Zae M.

Yelp
Staying at the Dove Inn was exactly what I needed for my staycation. The place is charming but modern. My room was beautiful and the amenities were just right. I will have my friends & family stay here when they visit. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Wow - this hotel was amazing! I stayed in the Aspen Suite and didn't really realize how luxury this space was until I got there. Check-in felt very "air bnb" with a code to enter the front door and also directly into your room; private and low fuss. The main level was a communal space furnished with historical and beautiful furniture juxtaposed with a modern and gorgeous kitchen. The fridge was stocked with sparkling water, string cheese, and local pastries. The bar has kombucha & nitro cold brew on tap. I mean...! I love the idea of "take what you need," instead of a traditional continental breakfast. Upstairs was a traditional looking house, walk down the hallway and find your room. My room had a beautiful bathroom, gorgeous bed, and mini living space with a historical BATHTUB IN THE LIVING ROOM. I was here for work, so having a space to relax and enjoy was so nice. I took a bath with the local-made bathbomb provided. The sheets were extremely comfortable. There was an AC unit in the room for you to control your own temperature. The location of this place is just perfect, right off of 14th street at the end of the main drag in Golden. I was able to walk everywhere (Golden is pretty small). They were renovating the front patio, so I'd imagine this is an even better place to stay and enjoy your coffee/meals outside enjoying the weather. Overall, for the price and attention to detail, this place is a 10/10. Highly recommend!

Yelp
If you are looking for a charming inn with excellent amenities in an amazing location between the city and the mountains, this is the spot. We had such a fun time on this Colorado staycation. We slept well, drank delicious coffee, took advantage of the kombucha and pastries for breakfast and never wanted to leave! Plus the check in and check out processes were so easy and the staff so lovely!

Terry M.

Yelp
Best staycation that we could ever ask for!! As good as the pictures are, the actual room was even better (we stayed in the Aspen)! This Victorian house has been tastefully updated, but still oozes with charm. Incredibly clean, and well cared for. Can't say enough, how pleasantly surprised by this charming hotel! Only regret is, that we didn't stay more than one night. We will be back!
google avatar

Patti M.

Yelp
We have stayed here three previous times when Elizabeth ran the Dove Inn. It is NOT the same place as it was when she was there. Never saw a host of the B &B. New locks on the doors are awkward to use. No fresh coffee or breakfast in the AM, just stale croissants from the previous day, and a plate of fruit that had been used the entire three days we were there. It's like the heart and soul of the place left with Elizabeth. We would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone.
google avatar

Earin Y.

Yelp
This place is the cutest little boutique b&b!! The home is newly remodeled but they left its historic character. They had kombucha and cold brew coffee on tap, have exposed brick that is 160 years old, and the softest sheets I've ever felt in my life. They're also very behind the scenes with keycodes to get in, no check-in/check-out at a front desk type deal. We came to the Dove Inn to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, and we stayed in The Parisian room. It was so romantic, we loved every detail! The exposed brick and bay windows were what sold us!!! We can't wait to come back! Golden itself is such a fun little town and they are doing amazing at social distancing/mask enforcing during this time.

Julia P.

Yelp
I stayed here for a girls staycation with a girlfriend! We stayed in the serenity suite, and it was perfect! The place is adorable, quiet, and right by the main area downtown! The coolest part was the coffee station where you can learn how to make coffee different ways (drip, French press...etc) it was awesome! Oh and the cold brew and kombucha on tap! We also did the haunted ghost tour pub crawl and it was a blast! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I had the privilege to stay in the Serenity suite May 2-6. My time there was absolutely wonderful and I can honestly say that I have never stayed at a nicer hotel/Inn than the Dove Inn in my entire life. Every aspect was wonderful, from the beautiful decor, ultra comfortable linens, towels and beds, to the terrific folks that work there. Every moment was fabulous and I truly hope to be able to return soon. Thank you Dove Inn for making me feel so spoiled!

Yelp
I travel often for work and decided to stay at the Dove Inn for a mini-weekend getaway and it's one of the best decisions I've made since moving to Denver. To put it simply, this is not only a staple of Golden, but in my opinion all of Colorado. To start, it's so quaint and low-key that you barely even notice it's not just a beautiful neighborhood house that's located centrally to downtown Golden. Even in the snow, everything was a short walk and it was beautiful at night with the snow falling down. The interior decor is something of an HGTV catalog, but the best part is the small touches. The kitchen had nitro cold brew on tap, as well as kombucha and an assortment of coffees and teas available at any time as well as some pickings for breakfast in the morning. I stayed in the Serenity Suite and at this point, I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in Golden. This room was perfectly put together - a nice couch for reading and writing and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, in my life. I would've paid extra to take it with me. The bathroom though was the most amazing highlight. Deep soaking tub for relaxation, with a bath bomb INCLUDED. Little things like that made this stay unforgettable. However, the best part about B&B's is the intimate environment. I met some very lovely folks I now call friends while getting coffee in the morning and that speaks accolades. The Dove Inn attracts a community of beautiful, homey people and for me.... there's absolutely NO other place I want to stay when visiting Golden. This will be my summer escape of 2019. Wish I could give more stars, but I can't. Long story short, ditch the hotels and stay here and stay local.

Yelp
The Dove Inn, in Golden, Colorado, is such a cute remodeled 1866 Victorian mansion! They didn't spare any details; the restoration combined the right amount of modern and vintage. The Dove Inn is the perfect place if you want to stay in a little town outside of Denver. And with just over an hour's drive, you can find yourself in Rocky Mountain National Park or at some of the other amazing State Parks in the area! The Dove Inn is right off of Main Street in Golden, and it is so easy to walk to dinner! There are so many great restaurants to try while visiting! The Inn is very clean, and the linens are so soft and comfortable! With behind the scenes service, we didn't miss the usual service at a hotel; we had everything that we needed! We loved the fresh, local, continental breakfast; it was the perfect start to the day! We can't wait to come back in the summer!

Kristi H.

Yelp
We've stayed here several times on trips to visit our Mines student and have felt at home and pampered each time. Each room has a unique charm, with comfortable beds, quiet, and great views of South and North Table. We love the self serve continental breakfast, amazing tea and coffee selection, and kombucha on tap. The Inn is one block from downtown and several blocks from campus and hiking, so everything is walkable. We've taken the bus and train from the airport door to door so haven't needed a car except for longer trips to Boulder or the Rockies. The owners and staff have been very friendly and accommodating any special needs we've had. A newer feature is the front patio with tables and plants so you can enjoy breakfast or drinks outside. So much nicer than a hotel and comparable pricing! We will be back on our next trip to Golden. Thank you Libby and Regan!

Yelp
Living in Denver, Golden is the perfect little place for a staycation, only a 25 minute drive will get you to the adorable and gorgeous Dove Inn. I found the Dove Inn on Instagram...as you do and I was not disappointed! We easily parked right in front of the Inn and had an envelope with my name waiting for me to check in. Opening the door was easy and we found our beautiful Parisian room with an overlook of the front yard. I loved all of the exposed brick! The downstairs communal kitchen is decked out with everything you need! Nitro coffee and Kombucha on tap + DIY videos of how to use a french press and pour over. It was nice to learn the correct way to do a french press, I've been doing it wrong all along! Our bed was super cozy and I loved the "fireplace" it made for a nice romantic touch. Deverite or tourist, I highly recommend the Dove Inn for your next vacation or staycation!

Yelp
The Dove Inn is a DREAM. After several months of not traveling due to COVID, my traveller's spirit was craving to get away. The Dove Inn was the perfect staycation for my fiancé and I. The moment we pulled up, we were so in love with the space. The outside courtyard area was so inviting. We walked into the common area and felt right at home as music played faintly in the background and we were greeted with kombucha on tap and amazing local coffee. They have put so much love and thoughtfulness into every detail of the Inn. We absolutely adored our room- the Shakespeare room. The antique/vintage decor colliding with modern touches... it was a dream! The bed was insanely comfortable and I even took advantage of the clawfoot tub in the bathroom! I truly felt pampered during my time at the Dove Inn. We also really appreciated that they were accommodating with gluten-free breakfast options. We really enjoyed our time wandering the downtown area of Golden. So many quaint shops and restaurants! I can't stop raving about our experience staying with the Dove Inn-- get your room booked ASAP!

Yelp
This is NOT The Dove In Bed and Breakfast any more. Elizabeth sold the place and it no longer has ANY of the touches that made it our favorite place to stay in Golden. No more kooky, delicious coffee machine (just Keurig - ick - and a poorly stocked one at that). No more charm. No more Elizabeth's famous granola. No more sit down breakfast. No more human contact (they literally have no humans present intentionally). The rooms have been "remodeled", which results in the quirks of the old building and furnishings being awkward and uncomfortable, rather than quaint and part of the character. A lot of the furniture has been replaced: not with anything more functional and in most cases it is a lot less functional. No decent surface to put my things on. Even the convenient hooks on the back of the door to my room are gone. Need something? Leave a message and someone will call you back. Have to get some work done on your laptop? You'd better be happy with it on your lap, or maybe you'll score one of the two seats at the counter downstairs. Looking for recommendations or info about Golden? Thank goodness the wifi works so you can use Yelp and Google. Elizabeth was also known for going way above and beyond in support of gluten free guests. Cookies, scones, granola: so many delicious GF treats to choose from. There is still the ubiquitous covered plate in the common area, but it's quite likely to be chock-full of gluten (and likely made from a mix, based on the content of the pantry visible from where I sit at the counter writing this). If you had never been here before you'd just think this is a clean, multi-guest AirBnB (with a few really strange decorations). And you'd probably find it satisfactory as a place to stay right in downtown Golden. However, if you were ever here when Elizabeth owned it you need to wipe that wonderful memory from your mind: this is NOT The Dove In Bed and Breakfast anymore :-( Elizabeth: I hope you are having a wonderful time on your new adventure! But we miss you.

Yelp
Such a magical, cozy space! Location is fantastic and very walkable to restaurants, shops, etc. The coffee bar in the morning offers pourover, chemex, aeropress and french press, along with an ipad of videos to teach you how to make each one. The breakfast is a nice touch of simple options to get your day started right. The rooms are adorable and I very much appreciated the bath bomb and robes for supreme coziness. I highly recommend this amazing spot!

Yelp
This is my favorite sneak away getaway. The rooms, beds, coffee and breakfast goodies are the best. It's clean, quiet and conveniently located. The parking can be a bit tricky but very much worth it.

Yelp
Loved everything except the bed. How a hotel/inn could have such horrid beds is beyond me. My friend who stayed there said the exact same thing and stayed in a completely different room. Honestly, as a place to lay your head that's why my rating is low. We almost drove home in the middle of the night (only to Denver) because we were not getting ANY sleep. Otherwise, this charming and thoughtful place would be a return visit many times for us. The cute patio out front, the breakfast and snacks, coffee, kombucha, the location, all lovely. But seriously guys... get new beds and mattresses. We won't be back unfortunately, unless this gets fixed.

Yelp
This was an Amazing Little spot to get away to. The little touches are the best, and make you feel special. The special features to the room were the best. The oversized bath tub was great to just relax in. I will definitely be back in the future.

Yelp
For the long weekend, my fiance and I decided to escape to beautiful Golden, Colorado and Instagram led us to The Dove Inn. The Dove Inn isn't your grandma's bed & breakfast. Instead of doilies, lumpy couches, excessive floral prints, and weird smells, you'll find a tasteful marriage of old and new that both honors the house (which was built in 1866) and clean, modern design. Exposed brick and wood walls, antique furniture, and crystal chandeliers effortlessly mingle with marble countertops, bar stools with hairpin legs, and chunky knit throw blankets. My favorite design element in the common area is a SUPER cool fanimation ceiling fan that moves using interconnected wheels and leather bands. It looks straight out of a Restoration Hardware magazine. We stayed in the Aspen Suite which is one of the larger rooms in the house. The suite is separated into two areas: 1) the sleeping area, which is home to a beautiful iron canopy bed and 2) the sitting area which has a cozy couch (which can double as a bed), TV, and bathtub so deep and long that it can comfortably contain long limbs (I'm nearly 5'9 and still had plenty of room). Just like in the common areas, old and new design elements are tastefully united. Edison bulbs provide soft light, but recessed lighting and a small ceiling fan light give you more if you needed. Decorative antique mirrors give the room an elegant touch and the full-length mirror on the wall means no outfit is left to chance. A simple reclaimed wood plank serves as a shelf, giving additional storage and a place to store a wine opener and glasses (did I mention that I loved that they were already in our room and that we didn't have to rummage around for them?). Notable Cool Stuff: - For those who are trying to live a low-impact lifestyle, you'll be happy to know that The Dove Inn doing its part to keep its ecological footprint low. Examples: 1) The Inn uses ceramic mugs and glassware in the house versus plastic or single-use cups. For those on the go, paper cups are available. 2) You won't find hotel-sized toiletries here; instead, the innkeeper refills the soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner containers in each bathroom. 3) In lieu of make-up wipes (some of which contain bits of plastic), they have a dark washcloth labeled "makeup" in the bathroom for folks who need to wash their makeup off- I'm actually stealing this idea for our home. 4) Each room has a ceiling fan to move air around which means you can set the AC to a higher temperature or not use it at all. 5) The water gets hot fast - which means less water wasted as it runs to warm up. - Refreshing Happy Leaf Kombucha and energizing Coda Iced Coffee are available to you whenever you want for free ninety-nine because both are on tap in the communal dining room. I love to see local businesses supporting/promoting each other. - In the afternoons, they put out yummy baked goods for a little boost to get you through the post-lunch slump. We may have eaten more than one... - The bedding and mattress were magical, we did not want to get out of that bed. I know this may seem minor but I was so happy to see that the owners didn't skimp on this detail (like a lot of hotels, to include major chains). I hate coming back from a long day of fun only to sleep on a sandpaper covered rock. If you can't tell - we really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back. The property is immaculate, owners are amazing, and Golden is truly a gem away from the hustle of some of Colorado's larger cities. Please note that The Dove Inn may not be for you if you are the type of traveler that needs a front desk, concierge, room service, or housekeeping. This boutique bed and breakfast is pretty chill and there were times when the guests were the only folks on the property.

Yelp
Stayed at the Dove Inn in summer 2016. The place is so cute and right in the heart of Golden. From the bed and breakfast you can easily walk to shops in Golden, hikes, or the Coors Brewery. The staff are so friendly and caring. They had great, fresh breakfast too! The rooms are on the smaller side but they are cozy and the beds are pretty comfortable. My window air conditioner was rather loud but the overall experience was great. I love this place and Golden and would return for future travels.

Yelp
Most perfect and romantic spot. Beautiful details. Stayed in the Parisian and it was the coziest room we could imagine. The decor is amazing. The kitchen area with free cold drip coffee is great. One of my favorite weekend getaways in so long thanks to this b&b. Will definitely be back :)

Yelp
We loved our stay at the Dove Inn! Every corner of the inn was quaint, which I loved. The shared kitchen and living area is adorable. I also loved that there were almond milk and gluten-free bread in the fridge. It's little touched like that that make a great stay. Also, the place was so clean, and the over was very sweet! Netflix in the room was a great touch too!

Yelp
I spent a couple nights at The Dove Inn last month with friends and it was one of the best staycation experiences I've ever had. Only 20 mins away from Downtown Denver, Golden feels detached due to the surrounding landscape of mesas and foothills. The inn is located right in downtown Golden surrounded by shops, restaurants, and bars and really close to several trails (North and South Table Mountain). The self-checkin procedure was easy and we stayed in the Carriage House. It was located away from the main room which was nice as we felt secluded from the rest of the visitors giving us more privacy. The main gathering area in the house was spacious and welcoming. There was music softly playing and we were instantly greeted to have some kombucha or cold brew (both local to Colorado) when we arrived. As for the room, we walked up the stairs to a large and well decorated space. One thing I distinctly remembered was how clean everything was. Libby and the staff checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. In the morning there was yogurt, granola, coffee, and pastries waiting for us. It was truly a great experience staying at The Dove Inn and I plan to come back in the future (probably summer time)!

Yelp
My husband and I were lucky enough to be able to stay at the Dove Inn for a little fall get away. From our first steps toward the Inn we felt like we were staying in our new favorite home away from home in Colorado. We stayed in the Serenity Suite and we found the amazing couch and bed to be extremely comfortable and cozy. We even loved the decor and renovations so much, it gave us license to dream about what we want our next master bedroom to look like! After a lovely bath in the huge soaking tub and a deep sleep we woke and had a slow, quiet morning. My husband used the coffee bar (and the instructional video) to make us some coffee in one of the french presses. The coffee was honestly the best I have ever had at a hotel and it might be one of the main reasons I will return. :) My only regret about our trip is that we only stayed at the Dove Inn for one night! Stay here and you will not regret it.

Yelp
Great Experience! My wife and I stayed at the Dove in for 4 days when we were there to attend a concert a Red Rocks. Very clean and a very good concept with a casual, come as you go, kitchen and breakfast. The only negative is there is not really any parking on site. However, you don't have to go to far to find adequate parking. Overall, we loved our stay and we will definitely be back in the near future.

Yelp
What a great B&B!! We loved the owner, Elizabeth. She put much care into our stay and she actually listened when my reservation was made! She left us roses and a note for our anniversary. Even set TV to closed captioning per my request! Our room was THE PARISIAN. It was filled with a sizeable and comfy queen bed, several lamps, desk, dresser and chest, private a/c, shower and bath! Adorned with books for reading and many writing instruments. We had a bay window that faced the street and a mountain. This place is very close walking distance to downtown Golden! At only a few feet were several restaurants, shops, starbucks and ice cream parlor. Very attentive with their care of the inn...many items and things to look at it. Provided fresh baked goodies daily in the dining area. Breakfast not a complete full but enough to keep you going until lunch. The stairs are steep to go up to the bedroom please beware of what you bring. Nice cool Colorado air comes through the many windows at night. We loved it and would definitely stay again.

Yelp
All sorts of adorable. I enjoyed the coffee brewing options and the local pastries. The room (Queen Anne Suite) was stunning yet comfortable. Check-in was simple and the location was convenient for purposes of my visit. If I am ever back in Golden, I will be sure to stay at the Dove Inn again!

Yelp
We stayed in the Queen Anne Suite for our first bed and breakfast experience. It was perfect. Check-in was automated, the place was super clean and the location was awesome. Everything was quiet and relaxing and it really was the perfect couples getaway. Parking can be tricky if you have a large vehicle, but otherwise everything else was amazing.
