Our room (family room) was very large, with separate living room, and two bathrooms with showers. Balconies and a nice view of the mountains.||First two floors of the building are a mall and offices, with hotel upstairs - our room was up four flights, and with no elevator, that meant significant effort getting our luggage up there (and back down when we checked out). There is no dedicated parking. Finding on-street parking for our rental car was not hard, but actually getting into the parking spots, with very narrow streets and sharp ditches between road and sidewalk, was sometimes challenging.||Staff were very nice, very helpful. Note that there is no daily servicing of the rooms, so if you need something you go to the desk and ask for it. Desk is staffed during the day but they are sometimes out for hours at a time, so you cannot predict when someone will be there; night guard is sometimes able to get things also, but doesn't always know where they keep everything.||Beds were comfortable, air conditioning worked very well, and there were just enough power outlets - I wish they had a few more, but there were enough. Wifi, though free and without a login portal, was very bad quality, often slow or cutting out for a minute or two at a time.||Mini-fridge was broken when we got there, they replaced it promptly when we asked. Second mini-fridge worked, but was quite small (so was the first) and weak: Things didn't really get that cold, and took a long time to get cold. Small freezer compartment could not freeze water, even when set to maximum. Sinks are small and very shallow, so you can't even fill a standard 16oz bottle with water - you cannot fit its mouth under the faucet. We used a smaller water bottle we bought, to refill other bottles. No microwave, but there is an electric hot water kettle.

I kicked this hotel for the location alone. There are many nehative reviews but I took the chance. The hotel is aged but it was spotless when I was there. The big 'hiccup' was that they advertise 18 rooms spread over 4 floors. The truth is all the rooms are on the 4th floor and there is NO ELEVATOR. If you have mobility issues, this is not the hotel for you!|Other than that, everything worked, staff were amazingly friendly (and helpful) and I would not hesitate to return.|After hours, there is security for the hotel and room access is restricted to main stairs only

This hotel is one on the worst on the planet. I would never recommend it. The hotel is dirty smells terrible. Stayed 9 days there. No hot water, no elevator. Management kept making excuses about the hot water. The floors looked like it hadn’t been mopped in years. Do yourselves a favor. Stay away from that place. They won’t even consider a partial refund despite the inconvenience. No security the main door stayed open so anyone can come up to the floor. My daughter saw a homeless man trying to open doors. There are beautiful places to stay in Soufriere but that is definitely not one of them.

For the most part, as advertised. Super friendly staff, aged but clean facility. AC works, in room fridge works, toilet flushes! In room wifi also works well. Central location to the beauty of St.Lucia. walking distance to everything: market, restaurants, market, ocean front, bars etc. Only draw back is that the rooms are all on the 4th floor and no elevator. There is limited free street parking. This place works for my needs and expectations. If your needs are a 5 star resort, this wont fit.

This is not a 5 star resort but wmfut perfectly into my trip! Centrally located in the downtown area, it was within walking distance of everything! I had no reservation walking around at night and the hotel had security after dark. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

The hotel staff are nothing but exceptional. So friendly and helpful.|Although showing its age, the hotel is clean and safe.|There is LIMITED FREE PARKING on the street and the ATM is not on site (3 ATM within a 1 minute walk).|The rooms are all on the 4th floor and there is no elevator so if you have mobility issues, this wont be the hotel for you

We went into this blind as a last-minute destination but liked the idea of a hotel in the middle of Soufriere, St. Lucia, a tiny fishing village of roughly 7,000. The hotel itself was very quiet, even though retail was on the first two floors. There were a total of five flights of stairs to get to the rooms at the top. The rooms were average (but clean) but the view was spectacular. Well worth the extra $15 or so a night extra over the street side. Water pressure was great in the shower. We had a tiny fridge and a microwave. Only one set of dishes for a room with 2 double beds though. As usual, when traveling outside the U.S., there were no handtowels or wash clothes so bring your own!

I picked The Downtown Hotel based on convenience and cost. This hotel is literally located in downtown Soufriere. It's walking distance to most shops, restaurants, banks and the waterfront. This was very important for me since I don't drive. ||||I had the city view room. It was spacious and very clean (no pests). It's equipped with cable TV, a quiet A/C, fridge (only the freezer worked, but good enough for water bottles), microwave, and WiFi (however, a bit slow). The hotel staff were very courteous. Checking in/out was simple and fast. ||||A few things to be aware of: There's stairs (no elevators for those with heavy luggage). The shower is elevated by a foot, so climbing in and out while wet was a challenge. Bring an outlet converter if you don't use European plugs. The balcony's glass door rattled throughout the night. I'm a light sleeper so this was the only issue for me. Also, it can get loud at times, but that's expected being downtown. ||||The Downtown Hotel is the perfect choice if you're on a budget, need to be within walking distance to things, and/or would like to experience the local lifestyle.
