I had a truly delightful evening at The Dragon in Crickhowell! We were able to book a table for dinner during the day and from the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for the night. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and ready with great recommendations. The food? Absolutely fantastic! Each dish was deliciously prepared, and the flavors were spot on (I had the chicken supreme and my friend had the venison which he loved!). Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal or something a little lighter, there's something for everyone. What really stood out, though, was the overall vibe—there’s a certain charm to this place that makes you feel right at home. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and quality, making it ideal for a relaxed evening out. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Dragon is a gem in Crickhowell that’s definitely worth a visit. Can't wait to return if I have the opportunity!

What a beautiful slice of Wales and the Dragon Inn is the cherry on top. Lovely room, amazing service and the food was out of this world!!! The town is cute with plenty of traditional pubs, a few shops and if like me you're into scenic walks then it doesn't get much better than the canal. Goes on for miles in both directions but both equally as nice and full of fresh air, stunning backdrops and friendly people. Will 100% be returning and you can see why its one of the nicest places to live in Wales.

Amazing evening of food! 20 of us went for a leaving meal and each had a lovely meal. Highly recommended! Staff were all friendly and helpful. Great choice and taste for food. Great selection of drinks

Nice food, decent looking pub. We visited on a very quiet night so not much else to say. Worth a visit.

Lovely old character pub in a picture postcard town in the Brecon Becons, what’s not to like? We stayed for the night as a stopover driving from Lincolnshire to Tenby. We wanted to include a local walk and had read about the walk up to “Table Mountain”. |Friendly and helpful welcome and squeezed my car through an entrance fine for 18th century coach and horses but very narrow for 21st century automobiles.|Our room was very clean and comfortable and we had a nice dinner and also a very tasty cooked breakfast which set us up well for the hike up to table mountain which we did in autumn sunshine. The Dragon Inn is a great place to stay.

I was provided gluten free food without fuss. The tall gentleman who brought me a roll and a brownie did so with a smile though it was a last minute request. Nice garden to sit out on a good day

Well this was our third visit to this pub. The first visit was a nice drink in the garden in a lovely sunny day. Perfect.|The second visit was a lunch date with my partner. Again perfect.|The third visit was very disappointing for my partner. |We ordered drinks, hers was a Aperol spritzer, but the didn’t have it. (There’s a store at the end of the road where a staff member could have popped out to buy a bottle!!)|She ordered the fish cakes because the last time she had them she enjoyed the fish cakes and the salad. Sadly they ran out of fish cakes and they couldn’t do anything else with the salad.|She opted for the chicken pesto linguine. |It was very bland. |We were both a little baffled of why you had no Aperol or couldn’t provide a simple salad.

We booked to stay the August bank holiday weekend with the Dragon inn.|We had room16 in the building behind the pub, overlooking the drive, into the carpark.|Room16 was ideal, as we had arranged to go to the Skirrid inn for a paranormal event, returning late 4am.|The Dragon is located just off the major truck road through the village, so it is quiet.|It has a private carpark, with access through a narrow entrance that goes under room16.|The pub served good food, but be sure to reserve a table as the restaurant always appeared very busy.|We had breakfast (which was included in the reservation price) Sunday lunch and an evening meal. All our meals were well presented, tasty and good value for money. Our hosts and their staff were friendly and attentive.|We would definitely stay at The Dragon inn again in the future.
