I’ve grown up in the Okanagan and wish I knew about this venue sooner. They have a fabulous list of artists and shows they bring in. I attended for one of my favourite artists Luca Fogale. Upon arriving the staff were very friendly. They moved us seats as someone was sitting in our seats. They have a large selection of drinks. The food was really delicious. I recommend arriving an hour before so you can get settled and have a bite to eat. The acoustics in this building are quite remarkable. And the sound quality too. Would definitely recommend checking out a show here. And I will definitely be back in the future. Thanks Dream Cafe.

Fantastic brunch. The Mexican fiesta, sushi bowl and avocado toast were absolutely brilliant! Great job guys! Keep going! Best wishes

What an amazing venue! It was my first time there and it was perfectly intimate and cozy with two-tiered seating to optimize the view of the stage. Steve Marriner put on an incredible show!! Kevin, who runs it was very social and informative. It was a pleasure speaking to him afterwards. The only drawback was the menu. Nothing jumped out from the appetizers or dinner choices, so I went straight to dessert. Thankfully the browned butter cheesecake was divine. I can't wait to go back

A true gem in Penticton! We are lucky to have such a cool local spot to see amazing live bands. Really enjoyed Rum Ragged! Great night out and will definitely be back.

Penticton is so lucky to have The Dream Cafe. They curate fantastic live music that always makes for a great night out. The sound in the room is top-notch—full but never too loud, creating the perfect atmosphere for both enjoying the music and conversation. The menu is delicious, and the service is exceptional—your drink will never go empty! I would buy tickets to any show they put on without hesitation. If you're looking for great food, great tunes, and a great aesthetic, this is the place to be. And on a personal note—bring back Daniel Romano!

Yelp
I have been to the dream cafe many times in the past so coming to last nights show was a great reminder of how much I love this place! It was a Great show! I love the dream cafe. Service was excellent. We did not eat as it was a late show but they do offer snacks. The dream cafe is so welcoming with an incredible ambiance. I will be going more often!

Yelp
Perhaps the only real vegetarian option in Penticton. The hostess at Earl's recommended the Dream Cafe when I inquired for my son about the availability of a veggie burger. "Well," she said, "we dont have any veggie burgers, but you should check out the Dream Cafe for the best veggie fare in town." We did. Service was good, lighting and decor was cozy. I had the Tandoori Tofu with the house wine. It was simple and served with roasted vegetables. Delicious and would definitely recommend to everyone.

Yelp
excellent people run this place - they are committed to the local music scene but have a packed roster of well-known national and international musicians performing here. My wife and I recently attended the Jim Byrnes and Lindsey Mitchell event - it was the most incredible evening of live music we have been to for years. The food is a pretty limited menu but was served hot by a wonderfully cheerful server and we were well-cared for all evening. All in all this was our first experience of the Dream Cafe but it won't be our last.

Yelp
This is a seriously underrated gem in the overall spectrum of Okanagan dining. Sure, locals flock there for brunch or to scope out the live tunes, but do yourself a favour and if you happen to be in Peach City visiting, head there right now and tell me if I'm wrong. First off, walking in, the aromas from the medley of spices hit you like a bat! This is a serious food worshipper's joint and not to be outdone in any way by its fine dining counterparts nearby. The atmosphere is funky, but still retains a bistro air to it. It was fairly dead when I walked in, but it was at the weird hour between lunch and dinner, and the farmer's and artisan's market was just shutting down. My server was laid back, but extremely attentive, easy to chat with, and recommended me one of the best dishes I've had in months: the Tuna Melt! I ordered a bottle of Rustic Roots Winery (Cawston, BC - near Keremeos) dry pear cider. This was a huge hit and I'd recommend trying it if you're like me and despise sweet ciders. Once my main dish arrived, I was starving and ready to eat. I have eaten out at countless restaurants and I usually go for something I can't or wouldn't make at home. Man, let me tell you... this tuna melt was incredible. Tuna was cooked perfectly for this kind of dish. The bread was sourdough and just enough to fill you up. The arugula salad had just the right kick and wasn't doused in oil. The smoked cheese sauce oozed over the melt and was made from scratch, which was the icing on the cake! So delicious and creamy. The entire dish was slightly rich, but in the best possible way. Absolutely go check this quirky little place out sometime, you'll be glad you did! The chef knows his stuff. Keep it up! Penticton is thriving when it comes to superb eats!

Yelp
We love this place! If you've never been, be sure to check out their live music! The food is amazing, the musicians are all so diverse and talented. Big City Culture in a little tucked away corner of Penticton!

Yelp
Step away from the food, do not pass go, do not collect $200!!! For a short summer jaunt to the Okanagan my husband and I thought we would at least find some vegan friendly fare somewhere nearby. We had actually looked forward to going to this place as the menu didn't look too bad from online, with a variety of things. This is where we should have realized it has problems. We were the first to arrive for dinner, the place was totally dead. The menu is thrown together, and eclectic mash of bland, unauthentic food reheated and served by a surly defensive waitress. To start, we got the Dream Appie Duo, a curried stuffed phylo with a baked samosa. It was all right, reheated from the oven. Except that they think raita is spelled riata, which they put several times on the menu. Obviously someone hasn't a clue about Indian food. A read through should be done before printing menus. Just sayin'. My husband got the Baked Tofu with veggies and rice. It was exactly that. Plain reheated tofu, no marinade/flavor, standard mixed veg and plain rice. Blah, just total blah reheated and served up. Disappointing. Myself I ordered the Thai Vegetable Curry (having been to Thailand and it being my favourite cuisine I thought perhaps it would have some flavour) Was I ever wrong. This was the most revolting dish I have ever had at a cafe. They dare call it a curry? It is the same mixed random veg my husband had, cooked in a gelatinous coconut sauce that has the consistency of "you know what" with ZERO seasoning, spice, or Thai flavour, with rice and a freaking Indian papadam!!! Who the hell is making this menu? Did this sauce come from a packet? Did it come from the back of the fridge from last week's serving? Indian cracker served with Thai vegetables that have not a single thing Thai about it? The waitress asked if everything was all right and my husband said I'm sorry no, but it's not. Actually her dish is the most disgusting curry we have ever tasted, there's nothing Thai about it. Could you just please tell the kitchen about this? She got upset, so defensive and started being rude saying "Well this is how we make it, that's just how it is" Well how about saying, "Oh ok, I'll let the kitchen know. Sorry about that. Would you like to try something else instead?" No... so we asked for the bill and she ignores us. Finally she brings it and disappears. My husband looks and they've taken my dish off, well that's nice considering I'm still starving and have to now buy food elsewhere. But the waitress is nowhere to be found. He can't even pay. He goes inside to search around for her and she won't even talk to him. He said listen I know it's not your fault the dish is bad why do you take things so personally? This girl was unbelievable. You'd think we'd called her baby ugly or something. It was goop on a plate with vegetables. What is she so upset about? Who would actually eat that garbage? Anyways, so we left her a tip and beelined out of that hole. I really hope the owner gives a rats and is open to customer feedback, because when you're dead like that and serving reheated slop like that that's gotta be affecting your bottom line. Perhaps the menu could step out of it's identity crisis and you can remove the Indian papadam from the "Thai" dish and get a new recipe for coconut sauce and use a little Thai basil or galangal or kaffir lime leaf. Just anything Thai or get it off the menu. Maybe this place should rethink it's name as the Nightmare Cafe. As clearly customers are not important and feedback is treated with rudeness and defensive remarks.

Yelp
Everything we had was delicious, salmon bellies, marinated warm olives, eggplant caviar and Casablanca sliders. Would definitely like to go back and try more of their menu items.

Yelp
www.thedreamcafe.ca A gem! The Dream Cafe has wonderful, eclectic live music year-round. It's a fabulous, funky little restaurant! The prices are very reasonable, the food is good, the atmosphere is cool "international traveller" style, the owner is a wonderfully warm guy who knows everyone in the music biz (and he'll remember YOU each time you come in.) The food is vegetarian friendly (as mentioned by others) and the room doesn't have a bad seat in the house (if you are there to catch a live show.) I recommend it to every music lover I know.

Yelp
Great food, fast service and plenty of options for vegetarians. Don't expect any bells and whistles. This is an alternative cafe (with great local art on the wall) and the presentation is extremely simple. But that's what makes it such a great experience. Great food, great price and great friendly staff. The mango/avocado salad is to die for!

Yelp
Great spot. Good food. We had the most unique and delicious Caprese salad that we've ever had anywhere. We didn't stay for the music when we visited, but I think it's fantastic that the owners are committed to local, national and international performers. They could easily increase the number tables by taking out the stage, but they're not in it just for the money. That, in itself, is refreshing.
