This was my first time visiting Juneau! Appon arrival the staff were very friendly and kind. We were upgraded a room due to my partner not happy with location of first room and these were honestly so perfect and cozy. The walls were made of brick so kept the heat in and the noise down. Right in the middle of everything which was great. The price outbeat the other hotels near by. Super convenient corner store right outside our door as well as a supper yummy breakfast at the sandpiper next door. The museum was right behind us and inside there was a little cafe that sold Super good coffee! We were extreamly happy overall. I would recommend this place.

Our room had all the necessities, but some things needed improvement. Room size was good enough, the sink and bathroom were in separate spaces, and bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel was fine, with two eateries next door (breakfast and lunch only), and downtown, a 15 minute walk. The staff was reachable by phone and helpful. One lent me an umbrella without my asking and it came in handy. Suggested improvements: a coat of paint on the outside, need a light blanket in addition to the comforter which was too hot. Furniture looked old but all was functional.

Bed was clean, and comfortable. Room was survivable. Place is a bit tired- but well started at 2**. Carpet looked new. Looked like the room had been freshly painted. Overall best experience for the level of hotel. Location was excellent. A great affordable place to stay in the heart of Juneau.

Considering how expensive other hotels are in Juneau, this was not bad value for money. I didn’t like that if you had the curtains open anyone could see inside. But otherwise there’s a heater that works very well, large king bed, friendly staff and walking distance to everything. Convenience store next door with ATM

Clean comfortable accommodations. Budget friendly. Walking distance to cruise ship docks, restaurants, and shopping. We were only there for one night and it suited our purposes. There was a minor leak in the bathroom ceiling, but we weren't there long enough to even report it (and it did not interfere with our stay).

I stayed at the Driftwood Lodge during the Rock Aak’w Music Festival in September. It gives super vintage vibes but for the location and price it can’t be beat. My room was super clean and the check-in/out was a breeze. The bed was comfortable and it was rocking all night 😉. The parking is easy, and the Wi-Fi is strong. I really enjoyed walking across the street to the Centennial Hall and being able to get a good breakfast at the Sandpiper Café which is on premises. The lodge is walking distance to all the cool downtown hangout spots. This is Juneau, so don’t go here expecting the Ritz Carlton, think more “vintage boutique”. I look forward to staying here again for the next big event!

Google
The beds were very comfortable, the staff was professional and very helpful. My room was a basic room, and it was very clean and all my needs were met. I caught the 7am shuttle from airport. I notice in previous comments others had issues, but I found the schedule on their website, no reservation required. Worked fine for me.||There is onsite breakfast and lunch which was wonderful, as well as a perfect coffee house just a few short steps away called Sacred Grounds and it was fabulous. Will stay again , loved it ! |

We booked two different stays at the Driftwood and canceled the second one when we arrived for the first. The hotel made a big deal about how they pick you up from the Airport and took all the information about my flights and that I would have a shuttle to the Ferry... We got an email the day before we were to arrive to say they no longer had any shuttles except ones that were on a first come first serve basis like twice a day to only the airport. Really messed us up... Our confirmation clearly lists all the details about the shuttles they had agreed to provide. This is why I picked the hotel. The room was dirty, smelled of mold and just all around very well run down.|Good points are you can walk from there into town and they had laundry which we used. Only one washing machine was working but luckily we were the only ones who wanted to use it. Would not recommend.

Yelp
I was all ready to give this hotel a 5-star review and then...when I booked a second night with them, they told me they couldn't give me a ride to the airport because I didn't give them 24 hour notice. (after I had already paid for 2nd night) I couldn't give them 24 hour notice because my flight was cancelled and I was stuck in Juneau. I had no idea they would cancel my flight. They picked me up from the airport and gave me a ride to the airport for my first night/morning with them. They were so great about it, that I didn't even research other hotels. I went straight with them again for a 2nd night. And then they told me they couldn't give me a ride. In a major population center, I wouldn't be so precious about this. But this is Juneau in the winter. Everything is closed and there are almost no people running ride sharing services. I felt stranded. I ended up begging a friend of a friend to give me a ride in the morning. This is one of the cheapest hotels in Juneau, and it shows. (expect to pay around $100, in the winter) For my needs though, low cost was my #1 concern. If that's also you, give this hotel a shot. Just make sure you request a ride to the airport 24 hours ahead of time so you don't end up stranded.

Clare S.

Yelp
Friendly staff.. close to downtown Juneau. Quite and clean. I would stay here again.

Wizbill W.

Yelp
They refused to reimburse for taxi fare I incurred because they decided to change their policy on airport to hotel shuttle transfers. Their site advertised this service even as late as 24 hours before the day I arrived. I booked the room 3 months in advance. This hotel is definitely not recommended.

Douglas V.

Yelp
This one is hard to rate. As far as I am concerned, I would return, but I wouldn't bring my wife. The room is too Plain Jane for her. She would hate it. Not for everybody, but there are a lot of pluses. Zero luxury, but if you need a place to sleep at night, it's clean and it works. The shuttle to and from the airport was a blessing. Right on time. Russell was great. He monitored my arrival time so I didn't have to wait for him. Smart man. Real close to DT Juneau and Russell knows all the hot spots when it comes to dining. Very helpful. It worked for me.

Konservation L.

Yelp
This estaqblishment is sadly the most unreasonable I have ever encountered. Whilst I understand cancellation policies, I was physically unable to visit because the ferry from Bellingham to Juneau was completely CANCELLED. I could not even get to the town. However, this hotel insisted on charging the full rate, despite the fact that I simply could not be there. I even discovered that they blocked out weeks of unavailability either side of and including the night I was supposed to stay. I wonder how many other people's money they took whilst having no intention of actually providing a service. Do not book this accommodation. It is a real shame that the owners/managers have chosen to be so unreasonable; I flew directly to my intended destination of Fairbanks instead, and every Alaskan I have encountered is warm and friendly. This hotel would not even take my calls. I do understand cancellation policies. But when the traveller has had their plans completely changed due to transport no longer operating, especially to a remote location such as Juneau, one would expect a certain level of understanding and decency.

Yelp
This hotel is very "meh". To be fair, the issue is the price. This hotel would be $30-80 in the Midwest. $100-$120 in Los Angeles. It was approximately $175 per night for me before fees. The paint is in a desperate need of a touch up in the rooms. The beds are super old. The thermostat didn't seem to work properly, and you can pretty much hear every single movement above you or to your sides - or happening outside. The staff is kind! I will give them that. But this hotel needs strong renovations to begin to be worth what is charged.

Nick N.

Yelp
This was the worst hotel that I've ever been to in my life. First of all the cost through Booking .com was ridiculous for a twelve hour stay. The walls were paper thin. The t.v didn't work. The lamps didn't work till I plugged them in not to mention the beds were totally uncomfortable. I will never ever come here again!

Thomas W.

Yelp
Never book during Folk Fest. Reneters who attend play through all mhours of the night with no consdieration of any other tenants. Rooms are not always clean and up to standard. May want to asask for a check for mold before booking. Rooms can be a little musty with a moldy smell. I was booked through May but was told my reservation was only good through the beginning of April. I would not recommend booking unless you're desperate.

Jay T.

Yelp
Quite hotel in downtown Juneau. Close enough to walk to the downtown area. Plenty of parking which is a plus. There is a convenience store next door for those small items along with a larger grocery store a short walk away. The hotel room is small and clean. My room was a standard with a kitchenette. The bed was comfortable which is very important. I would stay here again.

Margeret K.

Yelp
No phone, no a/c even tho both are in room. Window doesn't open. Bathroom is so hot it's scary and tv works sometimes. Also not helpful and $200 per night. Really!!!!!!

Andrew F.

Yelp
My first time to Juneau (and Alaska) and stayed here two nights, nothing glamorous but still clean and the staff was nice, great location, literally behind Alaska State Museum and a small convenience store in the parking lot for snacks/drinks and alcohol. Super close to walking everywhere downtown. Will stay here again when I come back to JNU.

Michael K.

Yelp
If you want a budget experience, in the pejorative, this is the place. Prices are lower than some places in Juneau, but you pay for what you get. The best feature is the Sandpiper restaurant next door. The other great feature is the van service and the professional and knowledgeable drivers who can pick you up from the ferry or airport (both of which are far from downtown Juneau). Before you book though, read on. During the first day of our stay, two junkies (who live nearby) strolled through the lobby with impunity snatching a child's backpack and rain gear. The local police did their best to keep from yawning. One is left wondering why the staff lets such local characters hang out on the premises. The rooms are damp, almost clean, and smokey. I don't know if they alternate the no-smoking and smoking rooms to better share the tar and nicotine or it is just thoughtlessness, but our "smoke free" room smelled like an ashtray full of smoldering butts. The stench was almost kinda ironic (if it hadn't been so revolting) since guests were forced to sign a form committing themselves to a $700 cleaning fee if caught smoking in their room. In sum, the place is a dump. If money, not safety, security, comfort, or air quality is your primary concern, you will enjoy your stay. We did not.

Marie B.

Yelp
I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel is in centrally located that you can walk to almost anything in the downtown area. The hotel is all right but I do believe there are numerous things they could improve on. One is customer service. I was coming to Juneau for a wedding and booked a room here. Then when I found out who else was coming from Michigan I told them to book here. There were going to be 7 rooms booked for a week. So when I came a day before others I asked if I could receive a discount or something for getting them the extra business (many of the others were going to stay in an Airbnb or another hotel). I told them that I brought them extra business naming all the guests that would be coming in. She said there was no deal that she could give me. If not monetary maybe she could have upgraded my room but NO. POOR customer relations. Also you might think the group could have been in a block of rooms closer together. So we could visit. The next day 11pm after a long day of air travel from Michigan, one of the guests got a dirty room and had to be moved which took forever. When another guest was coming in they had to wait on the shuttle about a hour for another plane with guests to come in. After a 12 hour flight with layover getting in at 10 pm Alaska time -2am Michigan time it gets a bit annoying. They could have dropped the first group off at the hotel and return to pick up the next group. It really isn't that far. So waiting an hour is unacceptable. There is no room that a group of people can get together and talk ---the lobby has 2 chairs. There were 5 people in my room talking and at 10 pm we get told to be quite. It's not like we were partying or anything like that we were just talking. Every morning the person above me gets up around 4:15 am and walks around for 45 minutes. Waking me up for the day. So needless to say the rooms are far from sound proof. Some rooms are way nicer and updated then others. Mine EHH. But the cleaning lady does a nice job and is friendly. So this I am thankful. And by the way ---the groom's parents who live here in Juneau recommended we stay at a different hotel. I think I get why.

Connie D.

Yelp
The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. The bed and pillows, super comfy. Super small bathroom, about the size of an airline lavatory, with a bathtub crammed in there. Housekeeping came daily to replenish my coffee and toiletries, but didn't vacuum. In fact, the floor looks like it hasn't been cleaned/vacuumed in weeks. Eewwww! But for this , I would have given a higher grade. Close to everything, walking distance from museum, groceries, great restaurants and bars. Overall, a more than decent place to stay

Meredith A.

Yelp
This is a no frills hotel that offers easy walking access to the port. My dad and I stayed here for 3 days/2 nights. We had a 2 bedroom (one queen and 2 twins) 1 bathroom room that had a kitchenette (mini fridge, stove, microwave). Honestly we only slept here and it was perfect for it. It's not up to date in terms of amenities but provided everything we needed. There is free shuttle pick up and drop off from airport and a grocery store next door. There's also a restaurant on the premises that serves amazing breakfast.

Brittany S.

Yelp
You get what you pay for and I have no complaints regarding this no-frills, enter-from-the-outside establishment in downtown Juneau. The location is quite handy and I appreciated that they have two restaurants attached to the hotel (one for breakfast and the other Thai for dinnertime). I'm always hesitant when you can enter a room through the outside but this one wasn't too bad (I also always check the bed for bed bugs as soon as we enter the room - trust me, I've had them before - it's the worst). The top reason I chose Driftwood over other options is the complimentary airport shuttle which worked out beautifully at 4:30 am before our early morning flight.

Carl A.

Yelp
Some have given this place a 4 star review. If you are looking for a $100.00 bed and toilet for one night with airport shuttle, this is for you. Anything else, seek accommodations elsewhere.

Sam S.

Yelp
Customer service was top notch. Room: if you're looking for a fancy room you'll have to go somewhere else. If you're looking for a comfy bed to sleep in, this is your place. My flight had been delayed in Seattle and I called them to let them know, they said they would keep an eye on the flight so they'd be there to pick me up on time. The shuttle to the ferry was right on time. Only down side was no elevator. I know its only 2 stories high, but my bag was 100lbs due to me moving up to Alaska for the summer. There was no offer of help while they stood in the office right next to the stairs I was struggling to drag my bag up.

Brandi N.

Yelp
Yikes! This place is in need of some serious help! We had a family event in which we rented out ~10+ rooms for our group and we all had a very similar experience (with one exception), this place is the worst. To start I walked my aunt and uncle to their room when we got in after traveling from Detroit, with a long layover, at around 11pm- to find their room, a room that was apparently for trash storage. Trash everywhere! The bed unmade, towels all over the floor, it took the front office staff almost an additional hour to find an alternative room, about 1.5 hours total for our three rooms that night. I called to have our room made up around 10 am when we were leaving for the day.... after a few trips in and out of the room, when we returned for the night at 10PM- the room was finally made. We were on the 3rd floor, my parents on the first floor- had the one exception of excellent housekeeping experience with a very friendly and helpful lady. The rest of my extended family and friends had a similar experience to mine... Towels were not replenished, trash was rarely taken out, beds linens were pulled up over clothing and never changes throughout our 5 day stay. Conditioners, shampoos soaps never stocked. I think that they pretty much pulled the linens up and that was it. ON TOP OF IT - I HAD MEDICATIONS STOLEN FROM MY ROOM! My costume jewelry was untouched, my generic medications were left alone, but the medications I specifically counted out for the trip- I turned up 3 days short....I was encouraged to file a police report. Having reserved a two room space to share with my sister, when she checked out I asked the front office gentleman if I could remain in the room or if I had to move, or if I could stay. He told me I could stay. When my sister was waiting for the 5am shuttle, it did not appear until after 530am... (after they told her she could not have a 530 shuttle- only on the hour) this is also when she called me to say that I needed to move rooms. Jamie, the front office desk worker stated that she would have to call her manager, apologized to him, not to me for the inconvenience, and that I would have to move because the guy who was working there was not properly trained..... and this is my problem because... no it should not be. Train your staff properly or do not leave them alone on a Sunday because you want your weekends off. I could go on and on about the little things but, in summary, if you want a dirty room, without clean towels or linens, if you want to be spoken to with a rude attitude, sleep in an uncomfortable bed, not get a shuttle in time for a flight, etc. - Oh I almost forgot, no heat! In Alaska! Because the gentleman that could help us went home for the night- only to find our place a sweat box, because there is no in room thermostat, the next few nights. Then this is your place. Otherwise, find another place.

Meegan S.

Yelp
This hotel has terrible customer service. We had a cruise booked out of Juneau and our flight was delayed so we missed our connection. I called the hotel to let them know we were stuck in Seattle and would not need the rooms. I also emailed them cancelling the shuttle. The person that answered the phone was very unhelpful and refused to cancel our room. We called prior to 2 pm but were told we needed to cancel 24 hours prior. They did not send a receipt for the charges in spite of multiple emails to both the general manager and the reservations department. The person on the phone would only give me the email for the manager. No phone number. I would not recommend this hotel due to very poor customer service. Book somewhere else.

Roxanne G.

Yelp
Functional, clean hotel room, with a coffee maker in the room, and two very good restaurants on site. Bed was comfortable. The staff is wonderful. We really appreciate the shuttle service to/from airport (and ferry). It's not the fanciest hotel, but TV and wifi worked and we slept well.

Wes C.

Yelp
The shuttle service to the airport was late. I was one of a dozen guests who needed a shuttle from the Driftwood Hotel to the airport for the first flights of the morning. The night before, I called down to the front desk and confirmed that the shuttle would leave at 5:30am. When I arrived at the front desk with my luggage at 5:25, the shuttle was nowhere to be found. When the shuttle driver finally showed up, he shrugged his shoulders and said that it was only a ten minute drive to the airport. Once the shuttle was loaded, the driver disappeared for almost ten minutes, and left guests sitting cluelessly in the van. Finally at 5:50 we departed for the airport. Yes, we arrived at the airport by 6am. It only took ten minutes to get there, but with a 7am flight, I was pressed to make it through ticketing, baggage check-in, screening and boarding in time. I had originally planned on buying breakfast once I had made it past TSA, but I had to abandon those plans in order to get on my plane on time. A 5:30 shuttle departure means that the shuttle leaves at FIVE THIRTY, not 5:50. While I certainly felt satisfied with every other aspect of my stay, I will be very hesitant to book a room at the Driftwood Hotel again if I have an early morning flight. Beginning a 3,500-mile flight with a late shuttle was a stress that I did not need.

S. H.

Yelp
Mediocre "budget" accommodations close to downtown. It met all of our needs. The room was ready for check in upon our arrival at 9:30am, at no additional cost. That was a bonus! Room was reasonably clean, although there were hair dust bunnies in the corners of the bathroom. Towels were were new and fluffy. Nice surprise! Staff was pleasant, but not all on the same page. Seemed like a lot of new staff being trained, but it was still early in the tourist season. Public transportation is nearby and reliable. Grocery and liquor store just around the corner. Easy walking distance to all downtown historical and tourist attractions. The town of Juneau pretty much rolls up the sidewalks once the cruise ships leave, so be sure to check the cruise schedule to make sure you can get dinner after 7pm. The Sandpiper restaurant is adjacent and is an eggcellent choice for breakfast. We didn't go there for lunch. They don't serve dinner. There is always a line out the door, so show up early and be prepared for a wait. It's worth it if you have the time. Overall vibe is that of a stop-off for backpackers to rest and replenish. Definitely a budget motel. Would stay again if on a budget friendly trip wanting to be near downtown attractions.

Sarah A.

Yelp
We were delighted by the shuttle driver who met us at the ferry terminal. He was friendly, informative, and polite. Upon checking in we were told that we were "upgraded to a two bedroom." Upgrade is hardly the word we would use. Room 107 was terribly stinky. It was a chilly day in Juneau, but we had to open up windows and the door to let out the smell. The carpeting was stained so badly that we were too disgusted to place any of our belongings on it. All night long we heard those above us every time they rolled in their bed or flushed the toilet (which seemed to happen every few minutes--could we hear every room upstairs??). Once again, our shuttle ride back to the ferry was lovely. The hotel is located well, but we couldn't help but leave feeling a little dirtier than when we arrived.

BriAnna J.

Yelp
We were very disappointed with this hotel overall.. It started out rough when our rooms weren't ready when we arrived, and continued to get worse. We booked 2 rooms for 6 people months in advance and when we arrived they were sold out and gave us 2 rooms that accommodated only 4 people. Also although they said they would provide us a shuttle to the airport, they refused to provide a shuttle that would get us to the airport on time.. Either we had to leave insanely early to sit and wait at the airport for hours or we would leave too late and miss our flight completely so we ended up having to pay for our own taxi. Quite a disappointing experience.

Nico H.

Yelp
I am very pleased with my stay at this hotel. I had a small issue and staff was quick to respond and even put me in touch with the owner. They rectified the situation promptly. I would definitely stay here again if I am in Juneau

Sofia S.

Yelp
Very friendly and helpful staff, great location, close to everything we wanted to go to, amazing restaurant right next door. The cost for the value is amazing will be staying here many times to come!

Tmon B.

Yelp
The accommodations were nothing special, but this was one of the cheaper places to stay in Juneau. A short walk to downtown and all the touristy things. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating with some last minute changes on my end. The bed was comfortable, the television worked, the toilet flushed, and the shower had pressure. They also have a free airport shuttle regardless of when your flight was. It's close to a very nice liquor store, the supermarket, and the state museum, although I didn't take advantage of anything but the liquor/deli. The room I stayed in did not have a microwave, fridge, or shampoo provided, but that wasn't a big deal. I had no issue w. the wi-fi, although I only used it on my phone. And I will mention again that the staff was very friendly, which deserves the extra star.

Deb F.

Yelp
It is reasonably priced by Juneau and AK standards, about 100.00 a night for standard room with no kitchenette. Rooms are very basic, small TV, no shampoo, cheap but adequate furnishings. Cons were broken safety chain on door, burn hole in blanket in non smoking room, water damage in bathroom. Convenient location.

Katy D.

Yelp
I am updating this nightmare review because when I thought it couldn't get worse, it did! After the worst hotel experience of my entire life, The school district I work for emailed me that this junky hotel was going to charge them $700 extra dollars for my stay! They accused me of doing drugs in my room, while I was there in a school retreat, and took it to the district. I cannot think of a worse thing that an incompetent hotel staff could do to a teacher in Alaska, but they managed. Every teacher I was with there has now complained and the whole district will never go there again. Wow. This place is ridiculous. Not only is it the trashiest and stinkiest hotel that I've ever stayed at, but their staff is rude, the rooms are disgusting, the bed is awful, they don't serve any type of breakfast, there is no shuttle, it's looks like a trailer park, people were doing drugs in the parking lot, the staff was incompetent, the door didn't close all the way, it is unsafe, and they had the nerve to call me and tell me I was being too loud in my room when I wasn't even there!! I have never had a worse hotel experience in my life. The other teachers there with me said that during their 7 night stay, the staff didn't clean or check their towels or do anything in their room. They had to buy their own toilet paper! Decided to pay extra for a decent hotel just down the road. Don't put yourself through this just to save money.

Maria K.

Yelp
Reasonable price. Shuttle is great service - they picked us up from the ferry terminal at 4am and will bring to the airport. Also they let us get into our room at 5am without extra charge. In the end if the day that was an amazing deal. The room is nothing special, but clean.

Eric A.

Yelp
Unfortunately, hotels in Juneau are a seller's market; with demand for lodging higher than the supply from May through the summer months. With few other options, The Driftwood may be the best you can hope for. WiFi is annoying; stopping periodically for a minute, which causes your application to shut down, (e.g., Netflix or YouTube). I ended up turning off my WiFi and using my cellular data. The rooms are small; good enough to sleep and shower, but not much more. My room and bed were clean. It's far enough from the main highway that it is quieter than other options. It is nice to be a short walk from the IGA grocery store.

Matthew ..

Yelp
Not just terrible customer service, but delivered with an unfriendly, eff-you attitude. Best to avoid these people.

Syrinx T.

Yelp
A bit rundown. Not the most competant staff I've seen. Needs some updates and better cleaning staff. Will not be staying here again. About $50 per night too much for what you get. My guess is they make money due to proximity to the cruise ships.

Paula H.

Yelp
We came to Juneau Alaska on the ferry from Prince Rupert we were so tired we couldn't see straight we had planned to stay at the Alaskan hotel and bar it turned out to be a dump with nefarious characters abounding we called the driftwood oh my gosh what a pleasure they took care of us immediately although we had no reservation and two dogs it was wonderful place very reasonable very clean and wonderful people thank you very much you saved our stay in Juneau

Caroline P.

Yelp
Cheap for Juneau with hotel shuttle, spacious efficiencies, and friendly staff. The room had thin walls, was a little grungy, and smelled like cigarettes. If you can live with that, use the money you save on a hotel room to splurge on something else.

Georgett E.

Yelp
While arranging for the shuttle to the airport, we were talked out of leaving two hours before our flight, even though we always allow for extra time for unforeseen problems. Come down 10 minutes before the shuttle was to pick us up, no shuttle available (thou there was a van in the parking lot). When the shuttle did arrive, there were 20 people for a 9 person van. Had to call for a taxi ourselves. Absolutely no help from staff. Realized I had left a new pair of expensive shoe in my room. Called but the staff had already run off with them.

Diana N.

Yelp
Typical motel standard. Most things in the room are old and the towels are thin and tiny. No huge complaint except that our Wi-Fi signal in our room was so poor w couldn't use it; maybe we were too far from office. Staff is friendly but housekeeping can be a bit skimpy on amenities. Didn't have spare toilet roll until we asked for one.

Randa S.

Yelp
Great value, clean rooms, kitchenettes are a big bonus, free ferry and airport shuttle, and great location right downtown. I'm a fan!

Christopher C.

Yelp
Pretty reasonably priced hotel, for Juneau. The kitchenette was nice, especially in a town like Juneau, which is full of mediocre, overpriced restaurants. The room was clean, the bed wasn't uncomfortable, the wifi mostly worked, there was only one noisy argument while we were there, front desk staff were friendly and efficient, and we got a free ride back to the ferry.

Adele L.

Yelp
Not a fancy place. But good location and the service to and from the ferry/airport is nice.

Ari Y.

Yelp
I stayed here some years ago, and it wasn't very nice. But this trip I am very satisfied. They have remodeled and upgraded. The room appears freshly painted, my bed (king size) is very comfortable and the bedding is big, fluffy pillows and down comforter. Only reason I didn't give it the last star is that the bathrooms are teensy. But the towels are big and thick. The rooms are very clean, and the free wi-fi is a nice perk. You can walk to everything in the downtown/waterfront area. The bus stops across the street. Staff is friendly and courteous. And the price is the greatest perk. I'll be back.

Yelp
Room was comfortable but kitchen facilities were sparse and old. Two nice restaurants on site and grocery store close. Stayed in "2 bedroom" unit, but it isn't really 2 bedrooms. There is 1 bedroom with 2 twins and a queen bed that is open to the living area...more like a 1 bedroom with studio. No elevators in this 3 story building, so keep that in mind if that is an issue. Within easy walking distance to downtown area.

Yelp
I love Alaska, but the Driftwood Hotel made it all the more memorable. It really is the best bang for your buck in Juneau! The staff is very friendly and helpful I was even offered a free shuttle by the manager when it turned out our plane arrived a day late. The rooms are clean and spacious and the new upgrades are a definite improvement. There are two high quality restaurants attached to the hotel, one catering to dinner crowds and the other -locally known as the best eatery in town specializes in breakfast in lunch -Brilliant! I had stayed at the Hotel several years ago but was pleasantly surprised to find that it is now under new ownership and the new staff has made great improvements to the space by upgrading the rooms and lobby. The whole place has a fantastic atmosphere. The recent renovations look great. I would highly recommend staying at the Driftwood to any of my family and friends. Great job, Keep up the good work!

Yelp
We stayed here several nights while using Juneau as our base for visits to Sitka and Glacier Bay. The room was pretty small and quite outdated. Each room has a small kitchenette consisting of a small refrigerator, apartment size stove, small microwave, and a coffee maker. When we first checked in they forgot to give us hand towels and wash cloths or soap. Surprisingly the Linens and towels are very good quality. The next day they failed to clean the bathtub. There is no sound proofing in the room as we heard people next door talking loudly and people above us walking on the creaky and cracking floor. Good things about this place are its location which is 15 minutes from downtown and less than a block to the supermarket and their excellent shuttle service. They will pick you up and drop you off at the airport and the ferry terminal, 24 hours a day. You must make reservations at least a day in advance for the service. It is expensive here in Juneau and their price is a little bit less than most others. It feels like a Motel 6 but older. The front desk staff is responsive but not particularly friendly.

Yelp
Very reasonably priced. Our room was right above the lobby and VERY noisy. The walls look like concrete block but it must be very thin. The room only cooled off if you left the door open. The bed covers were stained. If you stay there make sure that you take shampoo and conditioner. I assumed, wrongly, that would be provided. Close to everything, including a grocery store.

Yelp
Reasonably priced and next door to the AK State Museum. Great location, friendly staff, and a free shuttle from the airport. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean. My room was on the third floor on the corner and was really quiet.

Yelp
Don't do it. I don't care what trip advisor says. It is dirty and the cleaning staff never got towels to us. They got our room wrong and we had to call their attention to it. The accommodations are similar to a Motel 6. Don't do it.
