We came here two years ago and loved it, so we had to come back again when we were in the area and the place was just as good if not better than we remembered. We came early evening and were seated straight away. The food was amazing, and the service was great too especially Emily who looked after us for the evening. Definitely recommend coming here!

Stunning pub in the middle of nowhere, with wonderful food, huge outdoor seating area to soak in the sun and a unique water station for dogs called ‘Scooby Brew’. The mains (beef rib bourguignon and slow-cooked pork belly) were very tasty and filling, but there was just enough room for a delicious mango & passion fruit pavlova dessert. The staff were friendly, accommodating and looked after us, absolutely no problem there. The pub really is a hidden gem with plenty of beautiful walks around, definitely worth exploring after a lovely meal!

I booked and came in July 25 for my nans 100th Birthday. There were 12 of us and we all enjoyed everything. The food, staff, cleanliness and atmosphere was perfect. Beautiful place. Thank you.

I had a burger here and it wasn't great, which i would expect for this price (almost £20), it came very 'well done', dry and bit tasteless as they don't ask how you'd like it done. Only the bacon and bbq sauce were very good. On the other hand I really liked the atmosphere and staff were very friendly and polite.

This place is so beautiful and peaceful. The food was great. I visited on my birthday and it blew my mind away. The location reminds me of Spain. The waitress was quite loud but I’m not sure she was aware of it. She also moves very quickly while asking you a question. I still can’t fault this place. It’s a gem.

A very nice pub restaurant in a lovely setting. Pleasant and friendly staff. Smart and well kept premises. The food was great. The ordering and paying system via QR code at the table was efficient and slick. We haven't ordered like that before in a restaurant but it saved a load of hassle with dividing the bill up amongst our group of 11. However, saying that I did miss that interaction with the serving staff. They often make or break the experience as they give a place "personality". This was a bit lacking and made things feel a little automated and soulless. Overall though a good choice for a nice meal out.

I love a good country pub and this is definitely one. Polite and friendly staff. The prices were OK for a very captive audience not able to go elsewhere. Very dog 🐕 friendly with a cool little dog bar 🍻. Very nice to see a compendium of pub games to play too and to top it off a lovely open fire. We didn't get to eat any food but what we could see looked very good.

Beautiful place, loved the inside interior and was lovely done up for Christmas. We were sat in the restaurant near the fire which was lovely. The staff were all friendly and attentive. We had the festive menu, me and my husband both had the pate for starters which was lovely, I then had the steak and venison pie with veg and mash, absolutely stunning and my husband had the pork which was also amazing. We both had the apple and mince pie crumble for dessert, wow it was gorgeous. The best meal out we have had out in years. We will definitely be returning the next time we stay in Devon.

Yelp
Tucked away in a tiny village is thus Amazing inn with quaint ambiance and decor, decorated for the holidays, dogs allowed ! Super friendly staff and attentive. We all got the Sunday roast beef with the trimmings and it was so worth it . Only thing I would change are the roast potatoes they just were not quite " British style" gravy and Yorkshire pudding and meat and other veggies were great . Soon they will be all lit up for Christmas .

Yelp
Went here twice in the summer of 2018. Once for lunch and once for the Sunday roast. This is quite a large pub, with a large terrace in a beautiful location. The food is better than at an average pub but also a bit more expensive. Think for lunch at prices of around £ 9 to £ 16 for a meal. There are 2 and 3 course menu options which are a good deal (at around £14 for 2 courses). Sunday roast is fairly priced at around £12 to £14 depending on your choice of meats. Also one of the few places where there is actually a choice of vegan & glutenfree products. A word of caution for people with a non-UK bank card: don't use the "open tab" system: this will cause trouble with your bank & payments.

Yelp
Ruined my parents wedding function. Used dirty creased up table cloths. Served food on filthy dirty crockery. Messed up buffet menu. Poorly trained bar staff. Dirty dining area. 2 weeks later and after much communication between my parents and the management, nothing has been done to resolve the issue. Vouchers have been offered to go back to dine in same place that ruined their special day. Cant see them ever wanting to go back. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE FOR AN EVENT OF ANY KIND

Yelp
Love this place so much, great selection of food that tastes excellent. Awesome variety of cask ales and other local favorites. Tons of comfy seating indoors and out, large front lawn with lots of dogs running around. Best pub in Torquay!
