If you want to make your five-star stay in Dubai unnecessarily difficult, then the Dubai EDITION is the place to go.
From the very first day, the experience started on the wrong foot. I was checked into an accessibility room without being informed of this in advance. I was simply told it was “a room without a bathtub.” Upon entering, it was clear that this was not a standard luxury room — the bathroom resembled a hospital setup, with no glass shower partition and an inadequate vanity unit, making the space uncomfortable and far from what one would expect from a premium hotel.
Service issues continued on the second day. My room was supposed to be cleaned twice — once after check-in and again while I was out during the day. When I returned in the evening, I found multiple strands of hair of different colors in the toilet, clearly indicating that proper cleaning had not been carried out. I raised a complaint, but received no feedback or acknowledgment.
The situation worsened when I requested access to the parking area to charge my electric vehicle. I was told that self-parking was not permitted. When I contacted Guest Relations and asked them to arrange for staff to charge my car, I was informed that hotel policy required the guest to charge their own vehicle. This made no sense since I was not allowed access to the parking. After further back-and-forth, I was finally told that the charger was actually out of service.
Overall, this was a deeply disappointing stay. For a hotel that markets itself as five-star, the service, communication, and guest care felt closer to a two-star experience. I would not recommend the Dubai EDITION to anyone seeking comfort, professionalism, or true luxury hospitality.
