Duchess of Wisbeach

Unfortunately not the greatest experience. Our bill turned out to be cheaper than the deposit paid and the restaurant does not offer a refund of the deposit, only restaurant credit. We essentially lost R1000. The food was fairly good, but the menu feels a bit limited and i would not constitute it as fine dining. Our salads were served in ridiculously large bowls. The cutlery, crockery, glassware and table set up feels rather cheap. Certain sections of the restaurant has beautiful decor but it unfortunately doesn’t carry through to the dining area. I can’t speak to the festivities of the evening as we didn’t stay for it. I remember the restaurant being much fancier and more fun when I last visited in 2021. At least the waitstaff were friendly.

We discovered Duches of Wisbeach mány years ago… a hidden GEM! We revisited it again last Friday when our son-in-law turned 30 and wanted to go because of our recommendations!! How time flies?! WHaT a jol?!! Venue moved, but it is júst sò amazing… Red carpets welcoming you! Decor stunning, food honest and great quality… snd ThèN: a party breaks loose at around 9.30!!! We danced on the bar and danced … and laughed! Wow?! Well done to the lovely, still mad owner and all the staff - you are the vibe and heart of this GEM!!

A crowded space with very average food, definitely missed the fine part of the dining. We had a lovely waitress that made the experience nice, same goes for the rest of the staff which were friendly. Would recommend for partying/drinking and not dining as the place gets really full, loud and turns into a club in a restaurant-with great sing-along music

Please put this place on you must do list immediately ........ but only if you like a fantastic venue with lotza fun, laughter and good times with friends! There will be dancing on tables, crowd sing-a-longs and beautiful people ♡♡

Exceptional Service from Max! Had an amazing experience at The Duchess in Sea Point, thanks to Max! From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome and was incredibly attentive throughout the night. His recommendations were spot on, and he ensured everything was perfect, explaining the menu to us very well too. Max has outstanding social skills and a natural talent for hospitality—he’s truly a standout! If you’re dining here, ask for Max—you won’t be disappointed! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We came for dinner and got a night club style event ! Food was fine , had prawn, rack of lamb ( tuna was out!) and salad to share! Was all fine but then came the party atmosphere ! So cool ! Don’t go there on a date , you won’t hear yourselves but I guarantee you’ll have a great night club style atmosphere What’s not to like !

What an exceptional experience at the restaurant! The atmosphere was lively, entertaining and enjoyable. Thabo, our waiter, was not only attentive but also added a fun element to our evening. Despite him losing his voice he pushed through and made the night memorable . His service contributed significantly to the overall positive vibe, making it an awesome evening. Highly recommended for a fun time with music, friends or family!

Just not what it once was. The wine was awful, the food was nice, our waiter was lovely but the restaurant are greedy. Tables and chairs packed into a space too small. No room for people to pass, chair knocked every 5 seconds and entertainment delayed due to late arriving guests. Such a shame as we were so looking forward to the night. Sadly we won’t be returning again.
