The staff were of the highest quality,so friendly and always had a smile and a great sense of humour ,nothing was too much trouble. The food was of the highest standard and my friend's were all very impressed. I had booked the hotel for a weekend to visit sporting events and the location was perfect.easy access to town and the seafront. The Pickled Pig is a cosy and very comfortable restaurant/pub and offers lovely local beer and a great selection of wines. I highly recommend this hotel and will book again on our return in the near future. Thankyou for making our visit to Guernsey so memorable

Great location for St Peter Port, in the heart of the town. It's up a short but very steep hill, so be aware. Room was good and good breakfast buffet with cooked options. The restaurant/bar seemed quite popular although I didn't eat there this trip.

Stayed Monday-Saturday for a relaxing break on the island with my better half. Hotel staff were great, always polite, helpful + efficient. Room was unobtrusively serviced every day. Breakfast choices were fine + arrived quickly. Our room was on the ground floor, and worth knowing that your view is very likely to be blocked by the significant courtyard parking every day (not always residents, just diners). Since there's no mechanical ventilation in main room or (surprisingly) bathroom -so an open window is inevitable - the to-and-fro of vehicles and idling motors is not great. The main problem for leisure travellers like us may also be its convenience/location: it's used heavily by businessmen. This results in bellowed power calls and forced jocularity across the courtyards both early in the morning and late at night. If you aren't bothered by that, the endless chatter of insurance, taxation and investments around the breakfast table, or the occasional overheard '70s-throwback unreconstructed racist slur (I counted 2 in 6 days), then you'll have a great time.

Staycation in The Cottage suite. Lovely hotel, the staff were so helpful. The room was lovely with a self contained kitchen with fridge and hob. Dinner and breakfast in The Pickled Pig, again the staff were so helpful and welcoming. Definitely recommend

Minus one star because the female receptionist seemed to not really care or be engaged about much. Never asked us how our stay was or said goodbye when we checked out. Otherwise we had a very nice time.

Booked in for 2 nights October 2024. Saw rooms on web-site and opted for executive room, ...over compact room. Arrived to a room looking just like the compact room. Went back to reception. Was advised our room 'was' and executive room! Suggested I wanted one like to picture on their web-site. Was given another room to inspect which was a mirror image of the first room, no better. Went back again showed the man on reception, the picture. He checked with a cleaner which room that was. he said that we 38 but it was booked. He then selected 33 that was similar. That was more like the room in the picture. These rooms had two windows in the outside wall. The compact rooms only having one window each. Finally arrived in an Executive room. Staff very helpful but didn't see the difference in rooms! Dinner - opted for the "Tennerfest menu. Good value at £20.00 each for 3 course meal. Turned out to be (apparently) pre=packaged food. OK but low quality. Deserts were NOT banoffee pie -it was slices of Banana with ice-cream on chocolate powder. And the baked Alaska was soft (uncooked) meringue over good cold ice-cream, but it had not seen an oven or heat! wine was good, too good for that food! Next night food of the main menu was good, as expected. Rooms were beginning to show signs of wear. All staff we really good, pleasant and helpful. Great location in center of town, but a quite side street. Very pleasant.

exceeded all expectations! From the moment I arrived, was greeted with warm smiles and efficient check-in. The room was immaculate, spacious, and beautifully appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The hotel's location was ideal, The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to assist with any requests. The restaurant offered great food and impeccable service. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, with a wide variety of fresh and tasty options. would highly recommend Duke of normandie to anyone visiting guernsey truly made my stay unforgettable.

Not impressed at all . Had to change rooms twice firstly because the noise from outside was terrible as room 25 where I was at first backs out to a roof with loud machinery so no sleep the first night . After complaining for one night only I was changed to another room but that room was booked the following night so I had to move right up to the top with steep stairs. That room had an annoying intermittent dripping tap . Just to get some peace and quiet I stayed over in Sark the following night so was actually booked into 2 hotels at the same time . I suffer from high blood pressure and this stay has been stressful. it was supposed to be a peaceful break of respite as my husband has dementia And once again the tap in room 28 dripped all night again last night . Very glad to be leaving this morning
