Interesting items. Wide variety of items for sale. Huge selection of very expensive driftwood furniture. They have a wide variety of crafts such as custom pottery, art, jewelry etc. I enjoyed looking at everything but the prices were high ($$$$) on most items for my budget. I bought a few silver rings from the jewelry dept that were unique and very fairly priced. My favorite part aside from the amazing driftwood furniture was the gardens. Blooms and color everywhere!!

This place is awesome, except for the incredibly long wait time to be seated at the café (almost 1 hour on a Saturday for lunch around 2 p.m.). Thankfully there is a lot to do while waiting (exploring the lush and impeccably manicured garden, visiting the boutique, and perusing the artwork and furniture shop). I ordered the Dunes Beet Salad for lunch which was the perfect size for a light lunch, with very fresh ingredients. The raspberry lemonade was also delicious and not overly sweet.

Google
Such a magical spot to visit on the island. If you’re in PEI, you have to go. It’s worth re-routing your day trip for. They have anything you could think of: art of many different cultures and forms, furnishings, decor, jewelry, clothing; to name a few. Their botanical gardens and food menu are both fantastic additions to their space. As someone from NS, I will be back to The Dunes every time I travel to PEI.

Google
The cafe and restaurant make some really good food. Everything I tasted was perfect. The issue I have is the price. Two appetizers, two drinks, one dessert and my bill was 100$. It’s not sustainable. The place is really beautiful and well designed. The back garden feels like you have been transported to Southeast Asia. It’s incredibly beautiful and tranquil. The store selling cloths is overpriced. Having travelled to Thailand a few times, the price has marked up significantly.

The place is extremely beautiful. Everything is so grandeur and picturesque. The cafe however is mediocre at best and too expensive. You should definitely visit for the art gallery and the gardens.

Google
The gallery has a wide array of interesting art and items. The garden grounds are beautiful and impressive. The cafe had good food, but the wait was long, and we both left hungry (the reason I could not give this place 5 stars)

Google
Beautiful place and fresh food! We loved our stop there for lunch, it is a bit long to have a table, but you can tour the gallery while waiting!! Strongly recommend

Google
Restaurant was delightful. Each plate is adorned with an incredible showy flower from their garden. The staff wear beautiful dresses for sale in the shop. The chef's chicken was really delicious, tender, and flavorful, with a complex tasteful combination of flavors. The rhubarbarita with homemade rhubarb juice was really nice, tart, and full of flavor.

Yelp
The Dunes is a hidden oasis! The garden retreat behind this art studio/restaurant is stunning. It was a perfect distraction for the kids while we waited for the food to arrive: walk and explore the zen water fountains, inspiring dragon carved benches, driftwood chairs, and of course garden ornaments and floral dreams. The art studio inside looked incredible as well, but bringing small children in we were a bit more wary to let them explore here. As well the bathrooms were so super small and no baby change tables sadly. Although the fresh food was amazing! So much fresh salad we were all glad to have so much greens on our plates. The lobster spinach quiche was delightful, our group also ordered the crab cakes, chicken bacon wrap and kids cheese pizza.

Yelp
Such a cool place for lunch. Great garden to stroll through after a meal great menu. Food was all 10/10. Staff were friendly and patient with the nephews. 100% would recommend this as a place to stop if you're in the area.

Yelp
Typical tourist gift-shop. A big and nice one though. Maybe helpful to local economy, but in such a natural beautiful town, I personally feel a little sad.

Yelp
Very nice gardens that are impeccably maintained and free to roam around in. We saw an employee from the restaurant gathering fresh herbs and flowers from the garden to garnish the plates at lunch. Service was exceptional and numerous employees interacted with us. Food was fresh, hot, and tasty. Pottery made on site was another highlight for me and it was used in the restaurant and for sale

Yelp
The Dunes Cafe has always been on my must do list when on PEI in the summer. This year I found the dinner prices overpriced. I ordered the crab cake appetizer and there were two tiny cakes that were literally only one bite sized for $20 ( does come with green salad). The thai curry veg tofu rice dish was $38! Our meal was well prepared and tasty but way too $$. I know inflation is challenging for the restaurant industry but the prices were much higher than other comparable quality restaurants. I wont visit for dinner again, but would try the more reasonably priced lunch menu.

Yelp
Great food and excellent atmosphere but absolutely miserable inside on a hot day. This establishment has no air conditioning, making for a miserable experience on a hot day. Considering the prices of the food and the elegant atmosphere, they might want to bite the bullet and buy a few air conditioning units. Even Frosty Treat in Kensington has air conditioning! I understand the building is multileveled and installing air conditioning for that is expensive but come on. Rant over on the air conditioning! Just don't go there on a warm summer day. Otherwise, the food is sublime. I ordered the Thai mussels and the flavor was perfect! So good! The sauce was amazing, flavorful, and thick. I also ordered the seafood linguine, which was also fantastic. Really great food at a beautiful venue! Just be ready to sweat on a hot day~

Yelp
Loved everything about this place. The gardens, the art the Thai cuisine and service!

Yelp
This place takes the cake. There you are, driving around the Island, visiting all the tourist-trappy places, when you stumble upon this art gallery in Brackley Beach, of all places. It looks unassuming and rustic from the outside, but inside? WOW. Do you like art? Paintings, sculpture, wood carving? You will love this place. It has everything. Room after room of art. Upstairs, downstairs, outside. There are sculptures and fountains in the backyard. We watched a cook come out to pick herbs from the garden. It is truly a beautiful area. Much of the artwork is Indonesian. Even the furniture. While is it lovely to admire, it also gets a little redundant. The real variety lies with the wide array of artists from PEI and beyond in the main rooms. They also sell clothing, accessories, housewares and jewellery. Lots of jewellery. Some of it is gorgeous, most of it is expensive because handmade. There is a cafe in the middle of it all, but we didn't eat here. We did buy a few odds and ends from a very friendly clerk in the clothing room. Anyone with an interest in art (especially Indonesian) should grab a map and find The Dunes. It is worth the drive.

Yelp
Pricey for the quality of the food had a soup which was good but then ordered the steak but it was grizzly and tough and took two hours to complete the meal !

Yelp
Dinner here on Saturday evening was delightful. The team at the Dunes accommodated my guests and I at the last minute by setting up a table in the art gallery. I have to say it was lots of fun admiring the artwork as we dined. The service and food were outstanding. One of our party said the duck was the best he had ever enjoyed! Afterwards, we browsed through the shop and purchased a few treasures. If you're visiting the North Shore, be sure to stop in.

Yelp
What a surprise! This lovely restaurant is set within an art gallery and extensive shops but the back garden is the centrepiece here. Beautiful stone and wooden carvings are set amongst plants and flowers and most diners have a view of the garden. The meal was delicious, the service attentive. I would definitely go here again.

Yelp
Beautiful store in Brackley Beach with tons of unique and beautiful Maritime crafts. Everything from expensive jewelry with precious metals and gems to glassware, fired clay pieces, tableware, imported furniture, strange sculptures and a good, picturesque restaurant. The gardens are absolutely stunning. The Dunes is the best store of its kind in the Maritimes. Don't miss it!

Yelp
For myself, partner, and mother-in-law: Soup of the day: Spicy Beans and Corn Gazpacho with Beet Ganache Lobster Quiche Crab Cakes Pizza Creation of the Day: It was pretty crazy so I'm foggy on the details - thin crust pizza with spicy chickpea mayo sauce, ground beef and guda The food was inventive and delicious, the pizza stole the show for us. I enjoyed the soup alot also. Service was very professional and courteous.

Yelp
Overall takeaway: fresh food, but slightly overpriced. The Dunes summer salad with strawberries, pecans, blueberries, goat cheese, red onions, and grapes was unoriginal but fresh and crisp. Worse was the chicken pad Thai, lacking in flavor and /with tough, sparse, and grisly chicken. On a more positive note, the salmon on the salmon salad was fresh and tasty. The restaurant is surrounded on all sides by smiling gallery patrons and art, with a beautiful garden outside in view - nice staff and atmosphere.

Yelp
Love the windchimes! Loads of local products! The gardens and building are beautiful. Also, great for lunch & tea!

Yelp
Day 25/30: 30-day Oct yelp challenge A lot of places are closed in the off-season for PEI but thankfully this one wasn't! Great dining and art shop option if you're in the middle/North part of the island. It's a unique setting to eat since you're in a bright airy space surrounded by gardens outside and artwork on the inside! The gallery had a variety of wall art, pottery, wood items, furniture and clothing. No contemporary/modern stuff here... it's more rustic looking, I guess because of the local influence. The cafe was very good. Service was OK - a bit slow and drinks ran out a couple of times. However, the menu is great with a lot of emphasis on local ingredients, good portions, and a variety of changing items daily (soup, pizza, feature meat and feature fish). For lunch, hubby had a steak sandwich with a side salad - he thought it was very good. I had their version of a pho noodle bowl and I LOVED this. Spicy broth with vermicelli noodles with lobster, scallops, mussels and shrimp combined with the usual cilantro, green onions and carrots. This was a fabulous dish and I would definitely get it again. Complimentary bread service had a mix of regular bread and some mini cheese biscuits. There was a wait for lunch so I'd suggest checking in first and browsing the store while you wait. Lunch menu items were mostly around $15 each. Dinner entree items typically start at $25 and up. Definitely recommend this stop if you're in the area!

Yelp
The food was not bad so we thought however we were sick all night!!!!! Overpriced. Drinks were excellent. Waitress totally ruined the experience. She was stressed and took out her issues on us. Excelled at being rude and not interested in us her clients. Gallery was same. I inquired about some clothing and got totally brushed off with non existent customer service. I walked out. Never will return The Dunes.

Yelp
Surprise is the word... Food is excellent, plates are full. Service is perfect. But believe me the scenery is out of the ordinary. Would surely recommend it.

Yelp
This is the best meal I have had in a restaurant in about 4 months, with over a month on the road eating out every day. The service was very good and not intrusive. The food was excellent all around and very well presented if you care about such things. The atmosphere is cosy and and fairly quiet. This a somewhat upper end restaurant so figure about $60-$90 per person including wine and drinks. Gift shop is extensive, unique, and going to take your money. Definitely a place to visit and to enjoy a meal.

Yelp
This place is truly amazing! It is a combination of an art gallery, museum and restaurant. It has a beautiful garden outside and features local artists. The top floor of the building has a stunning view and has a gallery featuring Balinese artwork, the profits from which go to a Balinese nonprofit. The food itself is very fresh and delicious. The salad was extremely fresh. The crab cakes, the vegetarian tacos, and the chowder were definite highlights! The tofu chocolate dessert was also quite good and so was the bread pudding.

Yelp
This place is fabulous! I wish their were more places like this around Boston (where I live) This place has fabulous pottery, a great clothing store with Indonesian/Asian type clothing, and a great furniture store. Behind this building is a beautiful garden with lots of cool furnishings and statues, fountains etc. Now the food, amazing. Chef Emily has created a very unique combination of foods. Most are Indian/Asian and South African inspired. Everything is amazing. Great wine lists, had a rhubarbarita (fabulous with real PEI moonshine). Every details down to my highlight to end the night, a freshly brewed organic sumantran coffee. Prices were not bad either. I just love this place!!!!

Yelp
We came by looking for a coffee shop and found this amazing place. We had lunch here and it was so tasty and beautifully presented that we decided to come back for dinner and again we were amazed. The best food we have found in PEI so far, three days in! The beautiful gardens, gift shop and galleries were an added bonus. We will be back!

Yelp
What a neat place! I have been traveling to PEI my entire life. This place is a great find! It is a restaurant/art gallery/gift shop/garden. Super beautiful! The food was great it was from the garden on-site. I had a wonderful fresh salad and a PEI rock crab cake. It was yummy. I also loved the asian influences.

Rebecca P.

Yelp
One of the coolest places we've ever been. The building has so many levels, the architecture itself is part of the art. There's spiral staircases and room after room filled with eclectic cook things. Outdoors is beautifully maintained. We didn't eat here but would've if we'd had time. Take a visit! It's just a cool place to browse even if you're not planning on buying any art.

Yelp
I had the chicken dish (red finger potatoes, salad, chicken breast stuffed with almonds, bread stuffing in a cream sauce) while Kelly had the lobster pad Thai (Stir fried PEI lobster with garlic, ginger, vegetables and rice noodle fettuccine. Garnished with roasted peanuts and cilantro ). Portion size was huge, way too much to eat after we had the Grazer appetizer (Grilled local chorizo sausage, PEI aged Cheddar, Sicilian olive salad, caramelized onion jam, roasted almonds, pickled egg). The food left a little to be desired, the salad i had was little bland, but was still very good. We had a nice wine selection, the hob nob Pinot noir. Of course the ambience was amazing sitting amongst all the great works of island artists.

Yelp
Two couples enjoyed a very delicious dinner last night at the Dunes. My wife & daughter had the Romaine Caesar Salad and Rack of Lamb and they both raved about their dinners. My son in law and I had the Pear & Blue Cheese Salad followed by Filets. All this was enhanced by a bottle of McWilliams Shiraz. The meal would stand by itself but the experience was made even more interesting with a visit from Chef Norman and the very interesting and intriguing surroundings. This was a very positive dining experience and we would highly recommend it for a special night out.

Yelp
If you love Indian food by any chance , try their lamb shank . It was so delicious and surprisingly tasting Indian thought the chef was from NewFoundland.. Their salad is all flavourful. I usually don't finish my salad but theirs was so tasty.

Yelp
I don't get it! There are not many choices for food in this neck of the woods. We stopped in for lunch. When I arrived I thought to myself, my wife is going to love and I am not. I was right. Artsy restaurants are usually for the girls to hang out. But I wash grey, so we forged in. Several workers looked at us, but it took them 5 minutes to seat us. Drinks arrived quickly and we both found something to order from the girl menu. Wife loved her poached salmon salad. I thought it was just ok. I had a beef brisket sandwich which turned out to be a few very thin sliced pieces of dry bland meat on a small piece of baguette. Instead of ordering a second entree to partially fill my tummy, we opted for the bread pudding in Carmel sauce. Bread pudding ok, whipped cream good and Carmel sauce very good. Only problem is that there was not enough sauce. Girls, have at it. Boys, good luck.

Yelp
If you haven't made this discovery yet it is a must stop when on PEI. The entire ambiance from the unique fine art to the axing gardens. The cafe is just an added bonus
