“Dwarika's Hotel, in Kathmandu, Nepal, is the most classic and culturally preserved hotel I've ever been to. For me, no hotel speaks to its location better than this one. It's owned by my now friend Vijay and his family. The building is all brick, and each window fixture, door, and piece of hardware is an antique that Vijay's grandfather collected over the years. The carvings on every entryway or windowsill are so intricate and so well preserved. You can look at one side of the courtyard for hours, observing all the little details. Anytime I return to Kathmandu, it's no question that's where I stay. I took my kids out there with me the last time I went.” —Diplo

The Dwarika's (Kathmandu, Nepal) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Dwarika’s is named for its late founder, who established this one-of-a-kind hotel in an effort to preserve the arts, crafts, and culture of Kathmandu in a way that keeps them alive and accessible to curious visitors to Nepal. The result is something like a museum that you can sleep in — and, in case it’s not clear, one of the most memorable hotels we’ve ever come across. It’s also a rather luxurious one, with expansive suites, three distinctive restaurants, and a pool and Ayurvedic spa, complete with yoga classes. As long as it stands, travelers have a direct line to Kathmandu’s past." - Tablet Hotels

The entire hotel is made up of pieces from old temples and basically a museum. Hospitality is not the core of this operation, but they have grown into it and are doing very well, 5 stars. Definitely a recommendation if you come to Kathmandu and can afford a treat. I don't recommend the Spa, but just relaxing in the hotel was a great time.

I still can’t get over the magical resort I stayed at in Nepal — hands down the most beautiful and unforgettable place I’ve ever experienced. ✨🌸 Everything about it was surreal: the breathtaking scenery, the calming atmosphere, and the scent of fresh flowers that greeted me every morning. It truly felt like I was living in a dream. The resort’s restaurants were absolutely divine — every meal was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. From breakfast to dinner, the food was simply unforgettable. 🍽️💫 And the service? Ultra five-star. I’ve never seen anything like it. The staff were incredibly kind, supportive, and full of such positive energy — they made me feel so genuinely cared for and welcomed every single day. If you ever get the chance to visit Nepal, please do yourself a favor and stay here. It’s not just a resort, it’s a memory you’ll hold forever. Thank you to the amazing team — you’ve created something truly special. 💛

The Dwarika’s Hotel is truly an oasis in the heart of Kathmandu. The grounds are exotic, lush, and lavish — a serene escape from the chaos outside.||What made our stay especially memorable was the outstanding service from Rayisa Shrestha. She went out of her way to ensure every detail was taken care of, from giving us a thoughtful tour of the grounds to accommodating our late departure and making our connection to the airport seamless. Her warmth and professionalism made us feel completely at ease and deeply valued as guests.||Overall, The Dwarika’s is a remarkable property, elevated even further by exceptional staff like Rayisa. Highly recommended.

This gem of a hotel is like a verdant oasis in the midst of Kathmandu mayhem. The founding family has successfully preserved wonderful old wood carvings, doorways, staircases, a delightful garden and modern swim pool. It is all so tasteful and the staff could not be more helpful. This is the third time we have stayed here and will return whenever we are in the area, Thank you !!!

Dwarika’s Hotel is a stunning heritage property that beautifully showcases Nepal’s antique wooden architecture and cultural charm. From the moment you enter, you’re greeted with warm, smiling hospitality that makes you feel truly welcome.||Conveniently located in the heart of Kathmandu, it offers easy access to key sights while providing a peaceful escape from the city’s bustle.||The in-house restaurant, Krishnarpan, serves delicious, authentic cuisine in a refined setting.||Highly recommended for families and travelers seeking a boutique hotel experience steeped in history, comfort, and character.

Everything was great. The yoga area is peaceful. Gym is decent. Staff is very polite. Breakfast buffet was excellent ...outside of that the food was not so good.

This hotel is a masterpiece and living museum. We stayed here for 2 nights at the tail end of our trip and spent most of the time admiring the hotel and enjoying its facilities, craftsmanship and heritage. The intricate architecture, with its centuries-old woodwork, is simply breathtaking. Service is also impeccable - warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed the courtyards, a beautiful pool, and a luxurious spa. Dining is also an unforgettable experience, offering authentic Nepali cuisine. Dwarika's is more than a hotel; it's a testament to cultural preservation and an essential, immersive experience.

We had an amazing time at The Dwarika’s and recommend it highly. We are especially grateful for the hospitality of concierge, Mr. Ram Gajurel, who exceeded all expectations of customer service in helping us secure our lost luggage. The resort is beautiful and an experience unto itself. The customer service was like nothing we have experienced. A+++
