The Dwellington

Yes you have to walk up hills to get to the hostel but believe me, it’s worth it. They have breakfast included. I’ve never seen so many options offered for breakfast in a hostel. Also there is free coffee, tea and HOT CHOCOLATE!! How awesome! The hostel is beautiful, well decorated. The bathroom and showers were clean. They even offer facecloth!! The kitchen is well equipped. The have tones of different spices. The only negative thing I can say is : The cooking pans were really bad. Everything sticked to it, so it was hard to wash. But other than that, I loved everything about the dwellington!

Great stay! The hostel is wonderful and beautiful set up. The shared bathrooms were very clean, and the shared kitchen and yard were a great hang out area. The walls were very thin and all the doors slam closed which made for a long night. Parking is either just in front or just around the corner of the street for cheap. They also had a breakfast with great options! Staff were friendly and willing to help if we had any issues!

Fantastic hostel. Would highly recommend. We stayed with kids aged 7 and 10 in a private family room with shared bathroom. The room was clean and light. This was our first time staying in a youth hostel and we have since realised it sets the bar very high and is one of the best out there. The kitchen is very well equipped and clean. The lounge is a little tired but comfortable and homely. The cinema room is an amazing bonus! The hostel felt clean, safe and welcoming. Good job Dwellington!

As our final night in Welly we wanted to experience a hostel stay for the first time and I'm glad we did! We stayed on a Wednesday night so it was quiet around the common areas but was a great place to relax, read, and do laundry after a long day. My favorite part was the organized chaos of making breakfast all alongside ~10 other people, felt like being part of a big family. Oh, we left two beers in the beer fridge if someone wants to have them! Check the third shelf near the front.

Wow, what a hostel! I've stayed in many over the years and this is definitely one of the best. Rooms and bathrooms are kept very clean, the common areas are really nice and spacious, the staff are friendly, there is a big supermarket opposite, there is free breakfast and even free use of a sauna in the squash club next door! The only feedback I would give is that the sauna wasn't mentioned when I checked in or on the website so I only knew because I looked at other reviews. But definitely recommend this place, you can't go wrong.

The location was perfect for us, it only takes about 20 minutes to walk into the city and less than 10 minutes to either of the ferry terminals. The room was spacious and the pillows were super fluffy and soft. The kitchen was well equipped and above all the staff was super kind and helpful! The Dwellington breakfast would make some hotels jealous! It had a huge selection of jams and spreads, cereals, teas and even fresh eggs. Should we return to Wellington, we would definitely stay at the Dwellington again! Thank you for the lovely stay!

Ah man this hostel was an absolute dream. The people were friendly, rooms were clean and bright, communal areas were a delight. It felt like a home away from home and I could have easily stayed there for longer. And oh the breakfast was delicious!! Lots of choice and someone was even making pancakes for us on Easter Saturday 🐣

Probably one of the best hostels I have ever been at a very competitive and honest price! The guy at the reception was very welcoming as soon as I arrived and he gave me tips of what I should visit during my stay. The cleaning in the hostel was impeccable and the room was very spacious and clean with the possibility to lock your stuff. The common areas were also very comfortable giving you the opportunity to both meet new people from around the world or take that 1 hour of relax! The free breakfast was the cherry on the cake of a perfect stay. Congrats to the team!
