The Eatery Wood Fired Grill

We had such a lovely experience at The Eatery in Claremont! We ordered the tapas special — 3 plates for R250 — which is great value for sharing. The calamari, wings, and prawn & avo bruschetta were all delicious and perfectly cooked. We also shared a brisket bun with chips, which was tender and full of flavour. Since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, the manager came over to congratulate us and surprised us with complimentary desserts — churros with chocolate sauce and ice cream, plus an apple crumble sundae. Such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture! Great food, friendly service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend for a relaxed meal or a special occasion.

I loved our waitress energy. Very friendly service. We didn't even wait that long for our food. It happened very quickly. I had the Hangover burger and my friend had the Rump Steak. It was very good. Will definitely go back to try the other burgers and the prices of the menu were decent overall.

We visited today (Monday) for the burger special and it was amazing! Easily the best chicken burger I’ve had in ages. The restaurant has a clean and safe play area that my toddlers really enjoyed, and the staff were friendly and patient, especially with the kids. Highly recommend!

A pleasant and welcoming environment, my request was a contra File with fries, it was good, but the texture was not very pleasant, left a little to be desired.

We came for an impromptu Sunday dinner and what a great find it was! The food was flavoursome and really filling. Our waitress Sunshine was an absolute gem - making excellent suggestions about what to order and providing us with friendly, efficient service. Will definitely be back!

We went to the eatery for dinner this evening hoping to enjoy the burger special. Unfortunately, the waitress took quite a while to bring us our drinks and brought the incorrect items. My partners food order was incorrect and so had to be returned as well as the bill was incorrect. The food was average and when we spoke to the manager about the situation he sounded quite unbothered. Just quite dissatisfied but the situation.

What a lucky find! We had such a delicious meal! Sunshine, our waitress, truly lived up to her name. She was warm, engaging, and made the whole experience even better.
