We had the pleasure of staying at this lovely Inn this past weekend. While we are used to the Ritz’s and the Seasons, the word “Boutique” could hardly do it justice. The warm inviting atmosphere, and welcoming amenities, gave us the perfect place for a quiet relaxing weekend. The comfort and aesthetic of the Inn only compliments the quaint lovely town on Lopez Island. Having the warmth and comfort of Edenwild after adventuring around Lopez is the perfect place to rest and admire the surroundings of the beautiful island and water of the sound. We had the privilege to meet the one of the owners and it only made us feel more welcomed and comfortable. This will definitely be a return destination for our family in the future.

The inn is cute, and probably a lot more active in the spring and summer. Our room was nice but there is zero insulation or sound proofing so we heard..lots of things I wish we hadn’t. The location is very close to most of the restaurants and shops and coffee places. The sign needs some love too. Good size closet, bathroom is in good shape, could use a separate little table for the tea and coffee items in the room since the refrigerator is kind of wobbly

I am in love with the comfort, nostalgia, charm, and ease of staying at the Edenwild. From interacting with Anthony over email and phone to arrange my booking, to checking in and feeling immediately like a local again, the work their family does to make this accommodation feel like home in unrivaled. Everything in the rooms is easy to access and use, from the thermostat to the shower. The sheets and towels are impeccably soft. I can't wait to stay here again!

We stayed here off season. It was a nice place and a good value. The proprietor kindly suggested some sites on the island that we would have missed otherwise. They served a nice continental breakfast and delivered it to our room.

Is this our third time staying at the Edenwild (maybe 4th, we really like it here) September on Lopez is amazing! Relaxation settles around you as you leave Anacortes on the ferry and settles deeper after a few nights on the island. The weather was perfect, the rainy hours we sat in front of the fireplace, the sunny hours were spent walking beaches and trails. Highly recommend the Edenwild.

Honestly, I just didn’t feel great about paying $300 for this room. We stayed Room 2 and it was dark, outdated, oddly furnished, and not at all the romantic space I was expecting for a one night getaway with my husband. I’m betting the experience here largely depends on the room you choose - they all look very different and this one was not the kind of room you want to lounge in all day. They would do well to remove the second bed and create a sitting area with a lot more lighting and some nice things to look out at from the window. Now, all that being said, the bed was comfortable and we slept great. The location outstanding. The house is very charming. And the contact free check in and check out was seamless. It’s obvious that the owners and caretakers take great pride in this place, and with a little extra effort, it could go from being just OK to exceptional.

Our first trip to Lopez Island, and Edenwild made it wonderful. The room was spacious, the bed (memory foam) fabulous, big bright bathroom and front deck seating. We were allowed to bring out ebikes on the porch which made charging them a breeze. We felt safe leaving our belongings in the main front room when we arrived early, as if stepping back in time before locked doors. I think our favorite by far was the to-go breakfast. As we planned to cycle each day, the to-go was the best - and it traveled well and was delicious every time. If you're traveling to Lopez, we highly recommend Edenwild.

We just spent the day and night on Lopez island. Anthony at the Edenwild was so helpful with navigating the ferries, dinner reservation, and things to do on Lopez. The Inn was a perfect place to end our day after hiking, beach combing, and exploring. Our room was quiet, clean and roomy. The Inn’s location in the village made it nice to walk to dinner, instead of getting back in the car! The breakfast the next morning was delivered to our room and such a nice treat after the big chain hotel’s free breakfast. Thanks Anthony for making our first trip to Lopez Island perfect. We will return!

Yelp
Location is perfect area that allows you to walk to most of the shops and places in the village. Guest services was nice. Even provided places to check out while we waited for our room to be ready. I read reviews before I booked here so I was disappointed to get a basic room with no tub or fireplace when we did get our keys. After our long hikes I was mentally prepared to soak. Room appeared clean but the pillow sham smelt like urine. Inn had a small fridge for food storage for guest. Community area has a microwave, bottle water, plates and silverware. Lots of places to sit outside and enjoy the nice day. Got a hot breakfast wa treat to enjoy while waiting in the line for the ferry. Disappointed we appeared to be on the island when most places were closed.

Yelp
We found out about this amazing place after watching "Outdoor Chef Life". Someone that we follow on YouTube that travels around fishing, crabbing and making catch & cook dishes. My husband decided to surprise me for my birthday! It was our first time being away from our kids and we have been married 14 years. It was the best surprise ever. Edenwild is perfect, we have 4 kids and our lives are crazy busy all the time. The room was spacious, the fire place was perfect! The BATHTUB... was all I needed! Peace & Quiet, long baths and a fire place to sit and drink my coffee. It was everything I needed. The other big surprise was my husband brought me here to crab! We had been crabbing since the season started and he were not catching anything legal. We went many different places but no luck. FINALLY we come here to Lopez Island and catch us some dinner. Best birthday gift ever. We even brought some home for our kids they were so happy that we finally caught some too (hahaha). Last but most importantly the owners are the nicest people. He goes above and beyond to make sure your happy and satisfied. The fact that they provide Kayaks is awesome!! Plus bike rentals and crabbing gear if you need it. The breakfast they provide in the morning at your door is so delicious. Actually our first morning... my lovely husband ate both of our pastries without even noticing he was! That's how good they are. The hot water is AMAZING, the temperature in the room is perfect. I can't wait to go back, probably bring our kids next time in the summer. Edenwild is a special place and it will be our tradition to return every year for a short couples getaway. Thank you for everything! It was the best birthday I ever had.

Yelp
We stayed for a night at the Edenwild and had an amazing experience. The innkeepers are incredibly kind and hardworking. The prices are reasonable for a large room with a king size bed. We were on the 2nd floor and had a cute fireplace, which we didn't need to use with the warm weather. The bathroom had an old school tub in it, which was fun, but it did feel a bit claustrophobic with the 360 degree curtain blowing inwards as you're showering. They provided mini shampoo, conditioner, and soap, which smelled nice. Downstairs, they had a guest refrigerator that we were able to store a beer and iced coffee in to enjoy during our stay. We were able to check in early and drop off our stuff before renting bicycles from the inn. They have a rack outside with a bunch of them! We signed a waiver and got set up with a couple bikes and helmets. One of the innkeepers showed us on a map where we should bike to, and we were off! We ended up going to fisherman's spit and shark reef park. Both were amazingly beautiful. All in all, we went a little over 20 miles. It was easy to drop the bikes back off and we headed in to wash up before dinner. As we waited for our order, we got to enjoy their wrap around porch. They have complimentary blankets inside and nice, big Adirondack chairs outside. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful to listen to the wildlife sounds. We returned later in the evening and again in the morning because we enjoyed sitting out there so much! Breakfast was delivered to our door. We were warned it would be something small, but we both found it to be hearty and generous! It included both savory and sweet items and we even had extra to take with us on the ferry for a snack. My only complaint is that there were people downstairs in the living room talking quite loud up until around 10:00-30 pm, and we could hear every word. Luckily, they eventually turned in, but we weren't sure what to do if they kept going as it felt awkward for us to be the ones policing noise late at night. All in all, we still had a wonderful stay and would 1000% return again in the future!

Yelp
Delightful, comfortable, and friendly! This Inn, built as an Inn, is more than an Inn. Guests are encouraged to use the front porch (blankets are provided), the dining room for playing games (also available), the spacious living room with cozy furnishings and local art, and the guest refrigerator. Owner Anthony is a gracious host, encouraging us to relax and enjoy the home. The rooms are all unique and furnished for enjoyment. On our departure day, we checked our bags and rode bikes to Iceberg Point. Anthony made us feel So welcome to enjoy the Inn, patio and yard until we packed up for our ride to the ferry. Highly recommend

Yelp
Location is as best as you can get! Within walking distance to grocery market, restaurants, coffee shop, beach. Ample of free parking and no ridiculous hotel fees. Beds were roomy and comfortable, most importantly clean! The morning paper bag breakfast was a delicious assortment of pastries, boiled eggs, and homemade chia fruit yogurt! Our family of 4 stayed comfortably, sofa bed was comfortable for the kids. They have on site rentals for excursions as well! We would stay here again if ever visiting again, this little island is quiet but truly a gem in the pacific NW. Few things to note, They do not have a fridge inside the room but they have a little pantry with a fridge and freezer if you need. Also, they do not have daily housekeeping but will quickly respond if you call them for any needs!

Mom In Tennis Shoes S.

Yelp
First time staying on the laid-back, but friendly Lopez Island. We stayed in Room 8 which had a king-sized bed and a queen-sized bed. Continental breakfast was simple but delicious...the chia yogurt fruit cup was the bomb!

Matt K.

Yelp
Awesome getaway! Especially during crab season! Matt was overly accommodating and we will definitely be back!

Desi E.

Yelp
Love this place! It's our first time on Lopez island. First time at a BnB. Anthony and his wife made our stay so special. Their warm cheery demeanor, the cleanliness of the place, the lovely decor are all making for a very pleasant stay. Conveniently located in Lopez village, across from the beach and a minute walk to local shops and eateries. When she realised I had forgotten my toothbrush, Crystal personally made a trip to the store to get me one! If that isn't incredible customer service I don't know what is. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. Kayaks are provided on request even during off season. We will certainly be back!

Dirt H.

Yelp
Very friendly and helpful. This little place was charming, the staff was great with awesome recommendations for things to do around the island! Thanks guys!

Jessie L.

Yelp
So beautiful and clean, but still cozy/home feel. This is family owned. Their homemade scones, lime curd and fresh hard boiled eggs were A-MAZING --perfect breakfast for my husband and my (and our infant's) one-night stay. If I ever stay at Lopez island again, I'd want to stay here! We stayed in room 2 --king bed, full bathroom, sitting area with fireplace. We stayed several hours in the evening there in the room since our infant was napping and it was lovely. For me, it was straight out of an Anne of Green Gables book.

Yelp
The experience at the Edenwild was wonderful from beginning to end. Contactless check-in and check-out with complimentary chocolate chip cookies (yum!) The room was clean, comfortable, and QUIET. All the rooms were occupied, but we rarely heard another guest. The complimentary breakfast? Arguably the BEST hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. Warm mini-quiches, a fresh-baked scone, yogurt parfait with fresh berries and a small packet of wonderful granola. Water, wine glasses, utensils, etc. were all available in the dining area, which was handy when we brought takeout food back from Haven and ate in the courtyard. The concierge (I guess that's what you'd call her) was extremely helpful about the ferry wait on Sunday, and her advice made it so we didn't have an extra-long wait to get on the boat. The only thing you might find difficult is that there is no ice machine or in-room refrigerator, but there is a mini-fridge for guest use on the main floor. We had brought a small cooler with ice, so simply topped up the ice with a bag of ice from the grocery store (a nice after-dinner walk of about 2 blocks) and used our cooler as an ice-bucket to chill our wine. We will definitely be visiting again!

Heather V.

Yelp
We will be back! Ed and I loved the genuine island hospitality-the homemade blueberry scones, chia-berry yogurt, and farm to fresh eggs for breakfast. We enjoyed a lazy afternoon on front porch, it was quite calming.

Brooke S.

Yelp
This lovely Inn is located in the best spot on the Island in my opinion. There are two coffee shops and a couple restaurants located nearby. One of the restaurants is open on Monday which is a rare thing apparently. I stayed in room number 5 with both of my children. It was a large room with an adorable bathroom. The home feels historic and is very clean and tidy. The staff is gracious and friendly. I highly recommend staying here any time of year. The continental breakfast left outside our door was more than expected. Two of us cannot eat gluten and the granola was actually gluten Free which is rare. Warm hard boiled eggs were just what I wanted. Come here and explore the slower pace of Lopez. You will love it.

Anne Parker J.

Yelp
Spent four nights at Edenwild and truly loved it. Anthony and his manager Jackie were great hosts. We rented their bikes to tour the island and they were the best mode of transportation combining exercise and tourism. We also enjoyed having the communal space to eat on the terrace, saved us a bit instead of going to restaurants every single meal. I highly recommend the Edenwild for your stay on Slow-pez island.

Paul W.

Yelp
I'm always reluctant to stay at a B&B type inn as a lot of 'em reek of a grandma's house type funk and bathroom options are sometimes less than optimal. We were in room 7 and it was very nice and airy. Two large windows looking out the front of the house on to the bay. No funky B&B smell. Nice bedding. Spacious private bathroom. Nice courtyard. Lots of outdoor seating options. Common fireplace area with comfy chairs and a nice breakfast room. Very clean and no dust. What really made it exceptional in addition to the location, were the owners and their kids. Very nice folks with a genuine sincerity for making your stay enjoyable. Our grandson was celebrating his 4th birthday in the courtyard and they arranged for their ice cream "truck" to show up for a nice, unprompted additional treat. They don't smother the guests and have a knack for showing up at the right time anticipating your needs. A really relaxing experience.

Yelp
What a wonderful cozy place. The owners and staff were fabulous. Crystal and Anthony have worked really hard to create such a place of beauty and comfort. When I walked in to check in for the weekend the whole place smelled of fresh chocolate chip cookies. Seriously!!! That fabulous fresh baked smell never left!!! Staff member Jackie was a lifesaver to give me aspirin for the raging hangover from the night before. Breakfast was amazing. I highly recommend the yogurt and fresh fruit and what ever wonderful pastry treat that they have out in the morning. Their kindness and thoughtfulness to every detail and your comfort was amazing!!!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience and for truly being fabulous hosts and hostesses for my sisters wedding party

John V.

Yelp
We rented bikes from Edenwild and the experience was beyond expectations: the couple who run the Inn are professional, polite, personable...you'll sense it as soon as you meet them.

Marcellus M.

Yelp
Very outdated, unkept decor and the place looked very neglected. Breakfast consisted of a bland egg soufflé and Papier-mâché like pastry.

Tom R.

Yelp
This is such a charming spot! My wife and I stayed one night here in January, and it was so delightful. Anthony was warm, accommodating, and made us feel right at home. He even went above and beyond by mailing home a left behind item. I couldn't recommend the Edenwild enough, and will be returning very soon.

Sarah K.

Yelp
I can't say enough wonderful things about the Edenwild! Anthony and his staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to keep us cozy during our (unexpectedly snowy) stay. They were available immediately whenever we needed help with something. They were also super accommodating of my partner's food restrictions - we just called ahead and had no problem arranging a gluten free/dairy free breakfast for them. The space itself is gorgeous - lovingly curated and beautifully decorated. We stayed in room 4, at the top of the stairs, and took full advantage of the fireplace and the clawfoot tub. The common areas are lovely, too. There were not too many other guests when we were there, but a heads up that the Edenwild is an old house and noise carries easily. So it is normal to hear other guests from time to time. This is a magical place and it is clearly run with love and care. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
We, 2 Adults and 2 Children, stayed at the Edenwild Inn in late June 2017. Our first impressions were that we were in for a treat, and they held out throughout our stay. Check in was quick and simple, very nice actually. It was almost as if we were coming home, to our home, at the end of the day. There was the aroma of baking, later we found pastries at the check in desk. Also we learned that the baked items were usually the items that were being prepared for breakfast the following morning. We found our room, took a quick peek to find it very acceptable, comfy queen bed, sitting chairs, fireplace and bathroom with freestanding bathtub. And then we left to take a leisurely walk around the town - we lost track of how many rabbits we saw. The rooms were quiet, we never really saw much of the other guests - and the hotel was full - except for breakfast and then in passing throughout the day. Ice Cream, bakery and bookstore are all about 2 blocks away. The grocery store is two blocks in the other direction. Bikes and Kayaks are available for rental onsite. Anthony and the staff is very accommodating. Breakfast is normally served 8 AM to 10 AM, but some other guests were going to get an early start and would miss the breakfast hours. The staff prepared some food items that would be easy to take and enjoy on the ferry. The living room has a fireplace that is apparently roaring in the Pacific Northwest winters! Patio is large and inviting. Checkout the pictures of this place it is awesome. My daughter already wants our next family trip to be back to Lopez Island... Also, best wifi that I could find in the SJIs! One suggestion -- since all the rooms are different and it is not really apparent which is which - call or email and ask exactly which is which. If you do call, mornings are busy - leave a message or call after 11 AM (Checkout time)

Yelp
As a last minute getaway, the wife and I decided to leave the hustle and bustle of the holidays to the San Juan Islands. We were lucky enough to get a room at the Edenwild on Lopez Island, and we had a fantastic stay. When we arrived, the house was beautifully lit at night with Inviting light and a very regal presence to it. Upon entering the boutique hotel, it was very quiet, warm, and well decorated. Our room key was on the counter waiting for us with a special note and instructions on how to find our room. When we found our room, we were welcomed by a much larger room than we expected. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was very clean with a traditional claw foot tub that is perfect for soaking. The fireplace in the room added to the special ambiance of the room, and the closet was big enough to hang up our adventure gear. For breakfast, we had fresh coffee and baked goods along with some very decadent parfaits that were just yumminess in a jar. Overall, our stay here was excellent and couldn't have been better. This will likely become our go to spot when we stay on the islands.

Alexis S.

Yelp
This was the perfect little place to stay. The vibe when you pull up is very inviting, the place itself is extremely cute. The town is so small and so safe that you feel as if nothing bad could happening which really helps with the comfort of the place. The room I stayed in had a beautiful bathtub and a nice fireplace, along with the most comfortable looking (and feeling) bed ever! Such a quaint place honestly. I am so glad that I picked this place to stay! With the town right there, and the water just across the street, this is the perfect place to stay! *A nice thing to know, is that there is a refrigerator on the main floor for guests to put things!

Yelp
My wife and I went to Edenwild on Lopez Island for 4 days, 3 nights. We agreed that this inn was a highlight of our stay. Both Kris and Robert (the owners) took care of our needs and made us feel at home. We enjoyed the great breakfast which was always a surprise in that it must have taken a lot of work to prepare so many different options. They really do put a lot of effort into making you feel welcome. They have been serving the local Lopez Vineyard wine between 4-5 and its a great time to talk to other guest and the owners outside of the breakfast setting. Compared to other service on this island, the Edenwild inn was a stand out. the Bay Restuarant - 2 blocks away- was the only other place that meet our expectations on service. When you come to Lopez, just remember its called SlowPez for a reason. Bring your bike, kayak, etc and enjoy the slow life. Don't expect to be online even though Edenwild has free WiFi but it is slow. We stayed in room 6 and we recommend it.

Nermeen W.

Yelp
I've visited twice as part of what has become an annual tradition. Staying at the Edenwild is a lovely experience and spending the weekend on Lopez - with all its shops, its views and great food - is an added bonus. Each room has its own unique feel and offers a warm and quiet atmosphere. The inn is very charming and there's always the smell of freshly baked goods lingering around. Those are offered to guests as they walk in, and are available in the morning as part of the breakfast options. It's great for a quiet romantic weekend or a trip with family.

Yelp
Crystal and Anthony opened their doors to the public last week for breakfast and dinner ... The Restaurant at Edenwild (TRaE) offers inventive farm to table fare, using many local island purveyors. Outdoor and indoor seating is available. They expect their full liquor license soon. We sat at a table right near to patio doorway which allowed for nice garden views and a slight breeze. The menu was well-rounded, including options for omnivores to vegans (although no specific designation on the menu as to vegetarian or vegan options). We ordered the lamb bolognese tagliatelle with parmesan, cream and chili flakes and the Wild sockeye salmon with sweet pea flan, carrots, snap peas and carrot jus. Chef Skyler Smith learned to make pasta at Vespolina in Seattle -- he makes the tagliatelle pasta in-house at TRaE and it is very good -- cooked perfectly al dente, with just the right amount of elasticity. The bolognese is more like a ragu (to me) ... shredded local lamb, carrot, onions, deep mediterranean cumin and coriander flavors, with a hint of spice with the chili flakes ... topped with parmesan cheese. Perfect portion size -- not your Olive Garden sized endless bowl of pasta. Really enjoyed this dish. My husband's fish was also perfectly portioned -- unfortunately, it was overcooked. The fish itself was a gorgeous bright salmon color and the accompanying carrots and snap peas and jus were all delicious. The pea flan was super tasty -- texture could have been just a touch creamier but seriously picking nits here as I would hands down order it. The fresh seasonal sorbet was raspberry and came with a delicious almond tuille cone. Often, the tulle isn't fresh and can be kind of sticky and pliable ... not so here, this tulle was fresh and crispy. The sorbet had good texture, slightly melting (which is what I prefer) ... interestingly, they left in some of the raspberry seeds ... most places would strain the seeds out, but I actually liked the texture added by the seeds. My husband had the chocolate bonet with mint anglaise (which might sound like a sauce but it's actually ice cream). The bonet (a Northern Italian custard dish with crushed cookies) was a little less creamy than I had expected but had very good flavor. The ice cream was killer -- fresh but not overpowering mint flavor. They're still working on their service as they've only been open a week. We already have reservations to go back for dinner ... looked at the breakfast menu and we'll try that too. It's nice to have another finer dining option to the Bay Cafe (which I really like too).

Kenneth H.

Yelp
What a great place to stay on Lopez. The Inn keepers are great and the breakfast is unique and delish. Rooms are cozy and well kept. Loved that they had a freezer full of Lopez Island ice cream to purchase on the honor system. Will be back!

Carol W.

Yelp
DISCLAIMER: This review is NOT FOR THE B & B! It is only referring to dining here for DINNER service. So many things to say...I hope I can sum it up by saying that although the food was decent, the small expensive dishes just did not match with the underaged staff, hand written "drink list" & overall service nightmare. Think these guys should just stick to running a great B&B and leave dinner up to The Bay. We debated going back to The Bay a second night and we most definitely should have. Sorry to report this because the garden setting is beautiful and food was not bad at all but c'mon guys - you've got to know that you don't have any business charging what you are for the "playing restaurant" scenario that's currently taking place. I really hope that if Edenwild decides to continue serving dinner to non guests of the B & B that they will either match the prices and portions to the current service situation or match the service and bar to the good food and great atmosphere. The potential is there.

Melissa P.

Yelp
This little gem was absolutely beautiful. Rooms were super clean, bed and linens were fabulous. We came all the way from South Florida and we will definitely come back. Thank you for the memories!

Dave Z.

Yelp
We had a lovely stay here after our wedding, and look forward to coming back again soon! Anthony & Crystal are wonderful hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was well appointed & very comfortable, with a fantastic view out to the sound. Breakfast was great every morning. We also had dinner at the restaurant one night, which was delicious. Not every dish was perfect, but there were some home-runs in there, and it was early on in their time serving dinner. I'm confident it'll only get better. (One note: the wifi is quite slow here. We came to get away, not be connected, so it really wasn't an issue for us. They call it Slow-pez for a reason -- it's nice to be away from it all. But if you're expecting to stream movies or the like, make alternate plans.)

Mike C.

Yelp
I did not stay here but I ate here for 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner. The style is most comfortable with excellent quality food, well cooked and beautifully designed. 5*****. Met the owners, they are most assuredly delightful. Best of luck to this business, it'll see my repete business for years.

Finda G.

Yelp
A new option in the Village that really focuses on farm-to-market dishes. My wife and I along with my parents ate here on a Sunday evening and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The patio is pleasant and the atmosphere was very lovely. I would return anytime. Portions are not huge but we were all comfortably satisfied afterwards with both taste and fullness.

Sonia J.

Yelp
I cant say enough about not only this place, but the island and its people. Crystal and Anthony welcome you with open arms and treat you like family. Don't hesitate, book now! Most comfortable beds of any place I've stayed.

Brent O.

Yelp
We had a wonderful, two-night stay at the Edenwild. Beautiful and comfortable surroundings and delicious home-cooked breakfasts. The staff even went to the grocery store for our son's favorite cereal. Anthony is a completely accommodating host always going the extra mile to serve. We cannot give more than 5 stars but we would!

Leah B.

Yelp
Holy Moly! We will be telling everyone we know about this gem of a place, and plan to return as soon as we possibly can! We had room 6 for two nights, which was charming, comfortable and spacious - we loved the king sized bed, soaking tub, wood burning fireplace, and the water views! The grounds and the common areas of the inn are immaculate and lovely as well! Crystal, Anthony, and Cathy are incredibly kind and hospitable hosts and wonderful people in general. We loved that the Edenwild is right in the village, so there are lots of things to do just by walking around - a wonderful bakery, great coffee shops, charming bookstore, yummy restaurants, the beach for watching the sunset, etc. And we really enjoyed adventuring around the island to Shark Reef Sanctuary and Iceburg Point. I cried at the end of our stay because I didn't want to leave and we really wished we could've stayed longer. We really couldn't recommend any place more. Run, don't walk, to check it out as soon as you possibly can!

M S.

Yelp
We just got back from a one night stay at the Edenwild. We should have made it two but we were just bopping around the islands and didn't stay anywhere for long. Next time, at least two nights. We had room #2. King bed, fireplace, big soaking tub. It was wonderful. They had a fire laid for us so that we could just strike a match when we got in. A little apple brandy in the snifter, some chocolates. Super comfortable bed with thick sheets and they even found me some bath salts, which was great for our winter stay. The room was as warm as we wanted it to be (you control your own heat) and SO spacious. There is no TV in the room and although we had a computer with us and they have good wifi, we opted to play cribbage by our fire and it was really nice to unplug. Dinner wasn't in service for the winter so we just walked down to The Bay. Breakfast however, was served in a sunny dining room and was fantastic. We had melon yogurt parfaits, excellent Spanish tortilla (Spanish potato omelette) with aioli, and the BEST scones. Super flaky and buttery. Some were chocolate, some were berry. We ate three. Each. I know it's listed as "pricey" but our off-season price for the room was seriously a 1/3 of what a room and breakfast like that would cost in Seattle. Great deal. Overall, a really relaxing stay. Lopez itself was gorgeous, easy to drive around and the locals friendly. We went on two teeny hikes cause we were feeling lazy and then mostly stood around looking at vistas and seals. We ate a lot of fudge. I wish we were there now!

Yelp
Ok, this is such a nice place, and they do almost everything right... We had room #2 which had a huge king in it, a fire place, and a larger seating area, a really nice room. This building was built to be a Inn and it shows. Nice floor plan, great living room area with a nicer wood fire place and lots of games. There is a great wrap-around porch to chill on and a nice back patio that they were using for a fire Friday night. That patio can also be used for BBQ and as a place to eat breakfast. The location is within EASY walking distance to the water and the mouth of Fisherman's Harbor (http://www.islandcam.com/fishermansbay.html) All the shop's are right there too. Holly-B's Bakery, and the Red Apple market are 2 minutes walk from the front door. There is also a great nature trail that is short but takes you a little way into the wet lands surrounding the harbor, great for bird watching. I have to say that little touches are what set a place a part....we came back to the room from a rehearsal dinner to find some Belgium chocolate rabbits and about 2-3 fingers of Liqueur in a bottle with two brandy glasses beside it. NICE! The only thing I didn't like much was the breakfast...it was pretty much what I find at any Holiday Inn express or Courtyard....Costco breads, and yogurt's, some fruit, and some cereal. I would rather go down the street and load up at the WONDERFUL bakery called Holly-B's. I wonder why these folks don't just contract with Holly? I would definitely stay here again.... http://www.edenwildinn.com

Yelp
UPDATE: Just got married there on 8/27!!! :D So, when people get married, they are happy, and it is natural to feel like everything was perfect, because the couple's joy sort of just spills over onto everything...but when I say that The Edenwild is THE perfect place for a wedding, it isn't just my starry-eyed memories---The Edenwild really is the perfect place for a wedding. First off, Lopez is serene, beautiful, fun--I had more than one of my guests from out of state describe it as "magical," and that is not a normal adjective used in my family of engineers. The inn itself is simultaneously luxurious and comfortable--there is so much attention to detail in the architecture, the decor, and the "little touches"--epsom salts in the bathroom, good-sized high quality bath products, and, as others have noted, brandy in every room! The rooms are large and well-appointed (and all of them are perfect for bridal "getting ready" photos--take your pick!), and the beds are soooooo comfortable! The great room is large but cozy, the dining room is filled with natural light, and the huge wrap-around porch and patio are just wonderful! The space is large enough that you could probably accommodate a fairly large group of people (I'll leave the numbers up to Crystal and Anthony, though!), but because of the way the space is organized, you could go the intimate route without it feeling awkward and small. We had about 65--including kids of all ages--and it was perfect! If you are able to rent all the rooms (and there are only 9--I'd recommend splitting them among your bridal party, rather than leaving them open to any random guest--that way they are guaranteed to book, and you will have a lot of extra bonding time with your bridal party!), the whole space is yours--again, really making it feel like home... And I haven't even gotten to the best part: Crystal, Anthony, their family, and staff. Seriously, these guys go above and beyond "above and beyond." They make you feel like you are the only thing that matters--they are prompt in their communications, have GREAT ideas/suggestions for making your wedding vision a reality, and they just always go that extra mile--handing out snuggly throws to the guests when it got cool at night; brain-storming last-minute plan changes when there was a burn ban so our idea about sky lanterns and a marshmallow-roasting fire were out; running around securing all the decorations and buying tablecloth anchors when the wind suddenly picked up before the ceremony....and they do all this on their own--you are in SUCH good hands, truly, you can 100% relax and enjoy your wedding, because they are ON TOP of it! And they have such a calm and positive attitude, even when things start to feel stressful... If you are getting married, seriously, don't even waste your time looking anywhere else--this is THE place. And at first glance, it may not be the cheapest, but the thing is, as your planning goes along, you will start to see that some of the "cheap" places have a lot of hidden costs, for things that are already built-in/included at The Edenwild...we walked away spending a LOT less than most of my friends with similar quality of weddings, believe it or not! And we had such a better experience, having the whole Inn for the weekend! We will most definitely be coming back every year on our anniversary (well, assuming there isn't a wedding going on--in which case, we'll have to swing by on a weekday instead! :) Crystal and Anthony and family, thank you so very much for sharing your amazing space with us--we feel so honored to have worked with you!

Yelp
It's so good I love it. The setting, the staff and the food were amazing and I love lopez island

Yelp
I've stayed here both times I've visited Lopez Island, once with a girlfriend and once with my parents. Two very different trips, both were great experiences and both raved about edenwild. Location is great: in walking distance to the Farmers market, the island's "Downtown" and Bay Cafe (great place for dinner). The actual house is wonderful: each room amazingly decorated, comfortable, very clean. The homeowners are warm and friendly, the breakfast is elaborate (nothing over the top but really good), they have bikes you can take out for a stroll, free wifi. It seems to attract other good people as well who are always fun to get to know over breakfast. Definitely recommend staying here during your trip to Lopez.

Yelp
I eat out a lot. Because I travel a lot. I LOVE food. I spend too much on this habit. I have never bothered to write a review because meals can really vary and one man's gourmet is another's garbage. But THIS is different. I was blown away by this meal. Truly sad as I finished each plate that it was gone. I started with the Salad Lyonaise, a perfected example of this classic. From the incredibly flavorful bacon to the moist croutons it was wonderful. The frisée was crisp and lightly dressed. THEEN I had the Scarpinocc. This in house made pasta was al dente and full of fresh Gorgonzola. The grilled radicchio managed to lose it's bitterness in a light balsamico. My favorite pasta plate ever. And because of perfect portions I deeply indulged in a dessert of Italian plum Flambé! Every bite local, every bite incredible. If you come to Lopez Island in your travels and you miss this gem, you have completely missed your visit! BON Appetite!

Yelp
My wife and I just returned from a fabulous couple of nights at this wonderful B&B on Lopez Island! Couldn't ask for a more hospitable Hostess and Host! Be prepared to eat a hearty breakfast that is prepared for you daily! The Hosts are very knowledgable of the area and offer insight especially for newcomers! I highly recommend this B&B!

Yelp
Wonderful. Tranquil. Peaceful. Clean. Superb Breakfast that was a surprise each Morning. Staff was very kind. Room was immaculate. Great Location. Anthony is a great resource and great host. If you are into a homely feel and not a sterile Marriott this is your place. If things like "hand written drink lists" (like the only bad reviewer stated) are not your thing than this is not your place... but it should be :)

Yelp
Get there fast before more folks. Best B&B I have ever stayed in. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. The location is stunning, facilities are in perfect condition. The rooms-I saw 2 different rooms-were very luxurious and had a ton of personalized details. The breakfast served was better than anything Martha Stewart could have prepared and served by a charming and gracious chef and host. I think I was transported to another universe as a guest at this B&B. This business will be getting awards or something fantastic for them in the near future.

Yelp
I just got home to Eastlake via seaplane from Lopez Island and I still feel like I am on a blissful high after staying at the Edenwild. Owned and operated by a wonderful couple, Anthony and Crystal and their four boys, the stay was nothing short of serene and amazing. The food was spectacular, the service was personal and intuitive, and the grounds were stunningly lovely. The accommodations were nice and quiet with a very comfortable bed that overlooked the rest of the sound and Olympic peninsula. The Edenwild was a true find. A gem. A place for rejuvenation. I went here on my 30th birthday and I couldn't be happier with the decision. They will rent out bicycles to stroll around the island farmland, they have breakfast included (which I felt should be an additional charge as it was an extensive, full a la carte menu and supremely delicious). What is most important to mention as to why the stay was so memorable is the love and care. The owners supply all lodging necessities, as many other places do, but the love and care they put into it is something I have never experienced. It was like visiting a family member or old friend being around them. It was worth more than we paid, and we made the most memorable and cherished memories. I am very thankful for the Edenwild. I more than suggest it. I will be back!

Yelp
We just had a wonderful dining experience. From the appetizers to the desert the food and service were superior. The chilled melon soup made from local Horse Drawn Farm ingredients was exceptional. The rich duck breast had a crusty skin, wonderful flavor, with rice cakes, mushrooms, and plums. A perfect combination of flavors and textures. The mussels were reported to be great although they were gone too soon to share. The coconut cream pie was light, flaky, served with lemon jus that just matched the sweetness perfectly. The butterscotch flan came with rhubarb and basil in sublime counterpoint to the flan. The chef knows how to combine flavors to produce wonderfully unique tastes. The service was Lopez friendly, young, attentive and eager to please. The price was appropriate for the quality of ingredients, service and ambiance. We have eaten many meals, all over the country and we will remember this (our 46th anniversary dinner) as one of the best.

Yelp
We stayed at Edenwild the 2nd through 4th of May. It was such an amazing experience! The inn was beautiful and well put together. Chris, the wife does a lot of knitting so there were handmade pieces on display. The rooms were neat and clean and the beds were so comfortable with the fluffiest pillows ever. Breakfast was awesome. There was the typical cereal and eggs but also dishes made from scratch. Quiche, homemade sunflower bread, and homemade blueberry bread, to name a few. It was really cute that Chris had a blue ribbon next to her blueberry bread showing that she won first place for it :). Also, they gave us a pre-printed map and then wrote further directions on it when we asked for the places for sightseeing and kayaking. Just an awesome place with great hospitality. Both Chris and her husband were so personable and welcoming. One last thing, I left my jacket in the room after we checked out. The husband called me on the phone to ask if I'd like them to ship it to us. We were still in the ferry line so I said we would just come back for it. Instead of having us come back, they were nice enough to bring it to us. That was just the icing on the cake. Great people!!!
