The Edgewater Hotel

We had a fabulous experience on Christmas Day with our family for dinner at The Statehouse. The Manager worked with us to get our family accommodated when we could not see reservations online and even added an extra seat for a family member who decided to attend from out of town the night before. The service was excellent, ambiance amazing, food delectable and entire experience top notch! I highly recommend!

Wonderful stay at the Edgewater. We were upgraded to a lakeview room (in the Langdon building - pro: this the building where the fitness center, spa, etc. are located. Con: it is a bit of a walk from the main building/main entrance). Parking was not cheap - $32/day for self park, $38/day for valet, which seemed high for a city like Madison, but it was very near the captol, the University, and downtown, so parking is not abundant). Location was, then, excellent, walking doitnce to most everything of interest in Madison. Room was lovely - classy, well appointed, Room and entire buildign were immaculate. Though we were right near the elevator, we never heard a sound in three nights. Spa was fabulous - we both had great massages and enjoyed the facitlites. Service was terrific - there were two bottles of water in the room when we arrived, and when we called down the next dayto ask if we might get two or three more, they immediatley sent someone up with four more (at no charge). We did room service breakfast one morning, which was delivered right at the promised time, and was pretty good (room service bresakfat is not, in my experience, usually anthing to write home about). We got a fantatic last minute price and it was beyond worth waht we paid (we would hve spent the same at a Hilton or a Marriott, and the Edgewater had much more character). Highly recommended!

There’s no doubt that the city of Madison is a pretty cool place with the lakes, the state capital and the university. Fortunately, the city has a beautiful, lakefront hotel property that encompasses all of those attributes with the Edgewater. We went to Wisconsin for a Packer game and are really glad we had the opportunity to stay in Madison at the Edgewater. The property is all decked out for Christmas and the vibe was great in the bar and restaurant. The staff is “over the top” accommodating and welcoming. |Every great city should have a great - non chain- classy hotel like this.

We love to stay at The Edgewater! We have a student at UW-Madison and have enjoyed many stays at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are great, Augie's Tavern is awesome (especially after a football game), the location can't be beat and the view is wonderful. I would like to give a shoutout to Jess at registration - who helped us out of a bind. She is an amazing ambassador for the hotel and a rock star for sure! Thank you for another wonderful stay!

This hotel is my go-to in Madison here on out. I came here back in March for a Starset Concert at the Delta Beer Lab and an Oscars Party, and I came back here today in September for an AFI concert at the Sylvee tomorrow night. This hotel is the most comfortable hotel I've stayed in. It is so quiet with beautiful views of the lake. The hotel is in a great location. It's not too far from many of the hot spots, including the state capitol building. The hotel has an onsite spa, restaurant, bar, fitness center, indoor pool (in the spa but I believe all guests can use it without needing a spa service booked) and an ice rink. It looks like they have boat tours now that there's no ice on the lake but overall the hotel has a lot. I stayed in the Langdon Sudio King Room (I included photos from my stay in March but I have the same room this trip), which is an extended stay Kitchenette room. It's so wonderful. You could do a good deal of cooking here and there's a dishwasher and garbage disposal for convenience. The bathroom is beautiful with a claw foot tub and a nice glass shower. The bed is soooo comfortable and they give you special pillows on request. I have gamer neck so I really appreciate having the ability to get memory foam pillows. Seriously I slept so well here. I'm definitely choosing the Edgewater for future visits to Madison, and I'm looking forward to the rest of my current stay here.

Had a last minute overnight stay at the Edgewater in Madison and everything was so wonderful, we were upset we couldn’t stay longer! ALL of the staff was great, service didn’t miss a beat from top to bottom. A very special shout-out to Olivia who works in room service- exceptional communication and patience and basically… that girl understands the assignment. We love her. Cant wait to make it back to Madison for another stay!

We celebrated our daughter’s wedding in the Wine room. The staff, the food, the rooms, and manager Steve were exceptional! We can not say enough how great our wedding weekend was at the Edgewater!

The hotel is convenient and accessible for foods, activities, scenery. The location is within walking distance of the Capitol. The hotel's restaurants provide different variety of foods along with other services such as gift shop, spa, etc. Great experience services. Staffs are always friendly and welcoming.

The Hotel is in a great location on the Lake. The Staff were all friendly and helpful, even in the blistering cold of winter. The Statehouse - steakhouse is good, but staff were a bit distracted and slow. The management truly care, as they helped resolve an issue we had. The rooms are a bit dated, but what more can you expect from the region. Overall it's a worthy stay, that's still affordable and good. Truly a 4 Star experience that I think they are completely ok with. They don't try too hard, nor ignore guests. I'm guessing this has been a staple in the area for many many years. I would stay again.

While taking my husband on a birthday weekend The Edgewater hotel did a fabulous job of acting horrifyingly inhuman and excessively rude. During our check in the agency experienced a system error. Following this computer deficiency they ran my card until it was rendered unusable and flagged by the fraud department. Having left my secondary card at home to cover the cost of my family and farm expenses I was left having paid for a hotel room at the Edgewater that I was not permitted to stay in. While trying to correct the problem I was treated with condescending attitudes and rudely for three days. If you want to pay excessive room rates and not have a place to stay, all while being treated absolutely appalling then book with Edgewater!! There is really nothing quite like being stranded in an unknown city to help you to understand and appreciate good customer service.

I'll start off with customer service at this hotel is 10/10- the best I've had in a long time. We stopped in to the bar one night to grab a drink, and were blatantly ignored by the bartender. After 25 minutes, we're able to snag another bartender to grab us a bottle of wine for the room. When we filled out our feedback survey after the first night, pointing this instance out, management immediately contacted us to ask about it. They reached out to us, including physically finding us at the restaurant at the hotel, to apologize and offer to buy our drinks. They seemed really upset and apologetic and it was nice to just be heard. It wasn't a big deal at all, and we didn't make it into one, but it was nice they cared. The room itself had a view of the lake and dock, which was nice, despite being on the first floor and having several people walk by the front of our room. The actual room was small for the price, lacked any extras (water bottles), but it was clean and had the basics. A bar, restaurant, and gift shop are at the hotel; and self parking and valet parking are both offered.

Nice hotel. Located right on the water. The service here is great and the people here go above and beyond to accommodate you. Good food spots within about a 15 minute walk. Wouldn't mind coming back here.

I stayed here for a nearby conference. I love that they have a shuttle service which can pick you up and drop you off at the airport, and can take you around town. The room I stayed at was very spacious, with a large bathroom. The gym was split in two, which was a little confusing and in a different hotel, but it was nice. I had a balcony which offered a partial view of the lake. My only complaint is that a person from a different room climbed over my balcony one night which gave me a fright. The hotel security was able to talk to them which was nice. A very nice peaceful hotel.

I called ahead to confirm my room and the representative was kind and friendly. Upon arriving later in the evening, the front desk rep was also kind and efficient. The room was clean and had the basics. You can't put a price on a view like that of Lake Mendota! They did offer a complimentary special pillow (scents to promote certain wellness type of thing). I called and waited; I finally called back to cancel it simply because it was taking so long and I need to get to sleep. Nothing to take a star off as I'm sure they're busy! Just sharing. I was there for a conference and the conference room/catering were standard. Very nice, consistent, reliable. Parking ramp is tight and the elevators are deep into the side of the hotel but those are just characteristics. I'd for sure stay again!

Ask yourself? Is this a $500/night room? Is it a $100 / night room?? The floroscent light stays on 24/7. Such fun. Unfortunately, I cannot capture the sound. Let's just say it's not pleasant. I did ask for another room, but I was told this is what I could get.

First time in Madison Wisconsin and at The Edgewater. In room 1255 the room was perfect especially the bathroom. There are two balconies one facing the lake and the other facing the state capitol. The hallways were very clean. The dining area was beautiful and the view of the lake at eye level was amazing. We decided to ordered room service for dinner and it came within 30 minutes.

We stayed three nights at The Edgewater Hotel and overall it was a good experience and we would likely stay there again. Please note that when you check in they immediately charge your card for the entire stay, not just for incidentals which is very unusual in my experience. 99.9% of hotels I've been to charge a set amount to cover incidentals up front and then charge the total amount at check out. First the good stuff: - Our room on the 3rd floor had a beautiful view of the lake. - The room was very spacious and stylish, including the bathroom. - The shower was beautiful and large. - The air conditioning worked great and the room stayed very cool during hot and humid weather. - The room had a high quality flat screen TV. - The bed was pretty comfortable. - Overall the customer service was great and housekeeping did a great job of cleaning each day. - In room dining was quick and the food was good. - The hotel is in a nice neighborhood and a great location very close to campus and a few blocks from the capital square. The downsides: - Although the door opened to the lake outside, there was just a metal gate blocking the doorway with no balcony to step outside. - The bathroom only had one light switch which turned on all the lights at the same time. Going to the bathroom in the middle of the night the bright lights completely woke us up, and otherwise we couldn't see. The only way around that was to turn on the light on the little makeup mirror as a night light. - Housekeeping accidentally gave us two shampoos instead of a shower gel, but when we tried to ask the housekeeper in the hallway for a shower gel, she didn't understand a word of English and she wasn't able to help us. We just bought our own shower gel. - The valet service was ridiculously slow. Despite calling ahead, we waited over 30 minutes for our car and there was hardly anyone else around. Only after asking why it was taking so long did they run and get our car - I'm pretty sure they forgot. - The water pressure in the shower was mediocre at best. - The "pool" is actually an extra large hot tub, not a real pool. And it was in a separate building. Not great for kids. Overall because our room was very nice and spacious, the view was awesome and the location was great, we'd probably stay there again.

Gorgeous property on the water. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you want a spa appointment make it as soon as possible because it books out well in advance. Rooms are gorgeous, clean and nice amenities. Love this place!!!

The Edgewater has long held a reputation as one of the grande dames in Madison hospitality, and I always worry when trying a hotel like this that the present may not live up to the past. This couldn't be farther from the truth with today's Edgewater. Their service matches the best I have ever experienced anywhere in the world, including at boutique hotels in Europe that hosted me and other concert artists while touring with an orchestra. The hotel is beautifully appointed, the beds comfortable, and the linens first-rate, to the extent that I got the best sleep there that I've had in ages. They even have a pillow menu that includes, among other possibilities, lavender-scented pillows and memory-foam pillows. Room service is excellent: delicious, efficient, personable. I enjoyed their avocado toast, which features Madison Sourdough bread as its foundation. Augie's Tavern is a great place to unwind with friends, and makes great espresso along with excellent cocktails. And yes, the hotel is right on Lake Mendota, and the view is gorgeous, even in February.

We went for Easter brunch in the Grand Ballroom, and we were very disappointed, especially at the price we paid. $68 per person + 22% gratuity. They had 2 seatings (we chose the 12:30 seating), and there was only one food station and a dessert station. We waited in line for 40+ minutes to even get to the food. When we finally got to the food station, the food was overcooked and dry (like most of it had been sitting around since the 9:30 seating); the desserts were also dried out. I don't know what the 22% gratuity was even for - as no one came to our table until we were almost finished eating, and the server refilled the water glasses for two people in our party, but no one else, even though we'd all been drinking water. The final straw was when we found out the hotel wouldn't validate our parking, even though we parked in the hotel lot. So, we ended up paying $15.00 per car - on top of everything else. NEVER AGAIN.

This was my first & will be my last time staying at this hotel. Was traveling on business and based on ratings I figured why not trying it out. They have 2 buildings. My room ended up being in the overflow building (which is a LONG walk). Now I'm one who enjoys walking but when I'm on the clock and have business meetings etc don't have the time. We parked our car in the garage located underground the main hotel building. There wasn't really good clear directions in how to get to our rooms. A general map was provided but it definitely didn't do any justice. Our first day started with getting lost in "the tunnel and parking lot". There isn't much signage to try help you navigate the area. We also got locked in the staircase in the parking garage and our keycard didn't work. Also, at check in the rep recommended the onsite restaurant, The Statehouse. On Tuesday, we went to the suggested restaurant "The Statehouse" & made a reservation for 6:45p on Open Table. The host informed us that they didn't have enough servers to accommodate our reservation. She suggested for us to wait at the bar area until the table was ready. Initially she stated 15 min. It took 30 minutes to be seated. And that was after my colleague went to follow up with her directly if a table was ready. It's frustrating observing the host seat others before us & she didn't have enough consideration to proactively follow up with us directly to let us know the table was ready. If tables weren't available than you could have updated your availability on Open Table. Considering the premium cost for the hotel not the experience I would be expecting. One of the front desk mgrs did reach out & made an effort to make things right. I appreciated it. He commented the Food & Bev mgr would reach out to speak with me, which never occurred. Since our rooms were located in the building with the Spa, we asked the young lady in the lobby if we could get a small water bottle (since they supplied these in the room) & she had an attitude and asked us to walk to the main building to purchase one. I was actually considering setting up a Corporate rate for my job & after this experience I absolutely will not. You get better treatment at a chain hotel Hilton, Marriott & IHG. Plus you can get a water bottle.

We were there for a party, and it was very hot that night. We had dispensers with water during the cocktail hour, but they took them away during dinner, so you had to stand in line at yhe bar to get water. The catering staff and bartenders were rude especially the catering manager who was present. I do not recommend the Edgewater for an event.

Great food, I had the Caesar salad to start and salmon with avocado as an entree. Both were delicious! Also beautiful views of the lake from the terrace.

This was my 3rd time staying at the Edgewater. I absolutely love this hotel! The views are so beautiful weather you are looking at the lake or looking towards the Capital. We had a king suite in the Langdon building. Big and spacious with lovely lake views. My only complaint is the frat house is right next door so Friday and Saturday was a bit on the loud side. Other than those 2 nights it was pretty quiet. I love how you can pretty much walk to anywhere or the shuttle at the hotel if available will drive you. I highly recommend brunch on the weekends. Really good! Or if you want a drink at the bar or an appetizer they have a great area for that. In the morning you can go to the market and get a coffee or breakfast to go.

Dishonest pricing- was quoted a 289 rate and was surprised to find out upon checking in that it did not include tax or a "resort fee" - so the real price was actually 382$. Best part was our room was a view of a loud fraternity party that went all night. Be prepared for a 25 dollar "resort fee" that covers internet and transit to the airport. We didn't use either. Waste of money. Dishonest.

A top notch hotel. Great location and wonderful rooms. Although the restaurants are a bit pricey, they're classy. Lots of restaurants opti9ns nearby.

This hotel is terrible. Dust everywhere and the carpet is super musty. The room is tiny and the bathroom has a very bad smell. The staff were rude and unwilling to help, I understand if they can't help but they were just mean and acted like we inconvenienced them for showing up. The room we booked for our fiends wedding was around $290 when we arrived all of a sudden they said there were a ton of "resort fees" and fees for a shuttle to the airport. We drove here we don't need a shuttle.... Our total price for 1 night in this musty crappy rook for over $400. This feels like fraud I am so disappointed with this hotel. It's comparable to a budget motel but i bet the staff would be much nicer there. If you're going to give me a stinky musty tiny room you might as well have polite staff. They made us feel like oh sorry for existing???

AAA 4 Diamond, 5 stars in my book! Everyone at the Edgewater has a great attitude, very helpful and fun. Jay at the front desk, every time we stopped at the desk or I called on the phone they were super helpful! Everyone at the desk is helpful but Jay was there for a lot of our stay. Ilya drove us around and even accommodated us using the the hotel van for a quick dessert pickup, even moving the car while we were inside to make an easier entry to the car for us. We had a couple drivers over the weekend, each of them kind and friendly. This is one super nice feature of the hotel, we got caught far away when it started raining and it was nice to be able to call to get a ride back. We parked the car for the weekend and never had to hassle with figuring out a new city or managing having a car when picking up bike rentals, etc. The gals at the spa were helpful and friendly even though we were only using the pool and sauna, not spending any money on services. The restaurant, oh man.... hubbies were accidentally those people who show up 5 minutes before the kitchen closes. But everyone was so kind about it, kept assuring them it was not a problem. They got a great meal and great service at closing time. Kudos to everyone. The views from lakefront rooms are amazing, the Statehouse Restaurant has amazing views. The outdoor sitting areas where you can bring your own drink or picnic have good seating and great views. We went to Madison for a relaxing but healthy girls recharge weekend and we are so glad we chose the Edgewater. Rooms are clean, tastefully appointed, comfortable with pretty much everything you need for a stay. The rooms do not have microwaves but we both agreed someone would have helped us to get or use one should we have asked or felt we really needed it. And generally we found the overall atmosphere relaxing and the noise from other hotel guests was minimal. (And it was busy, 4 weddings on Saturday) If you're ever in Madison, I highly recommend the Edgewater.

Beautiful place, festively decorated for the holidays. breakfast was decent but over priced.

This is hands down the best hotel in Madison. If you can afford it, stay here! Simple but elegant. Top notch service, and a beautiful location. Old, but new. In really good shape. All the fixtures and features are top quality and tastefully done. A Madison original!

The Edgewater is everything you expect in a five diamond experience. We had an outstanding lakeside view and everything from the service to the food was wonderful. We will be back.

Beautiful, clean, special hotel in the heart of Madison. Most rooms with amazing views, even some with verandas and balconies overlooking the Capitol and lake. Fun pier and boat activity. Wonderful and varied restaurants: Statehouse where we had breakfast everyday overlooking the lake, Boathouse on the pier for drinks and light dinner, and Augie's Tavern for later drinks and snacks. The relaxation pool is so nice. Top notch service, but in a relaxed way.

Enjoyed a relaxing three-night stay at the Edgewater in Madison. Highly recommend! Wonderful service, great restaurant and bar, and comfortable and spacious rooms. Beautiful location! Walking distance to the University and lots of restaurants, bars and city central.

This is a wonderful hotel. We were in Madison for a business meeting and the Edgewater is where we stayed. Glad we did! The rooms are very clean and spacious. It's great that the bathroom is divided into a separate shower, sink and toilet areas. I would say that It is rather dark when trying to apply makeup! Many hotel bathrooms are these days. We had a lovely cocktail reception on Sunday night on a beautiful patio overlooking the water. Dinner was served in an adjoining room. The food was good, but not very hot. Madison is such a great town with a very low crime rate. We ladies walked around Aline at night and were not worried at all. The story in Chicago is much different! If you are looking for a spot for a conference, I highly recommend the Edgewater !

Fantastic and very friendly staff! Service was top notch! Excellent atmosphere. All the renovations have paid off...Rooms were awesome and clean.

Great Blues and Brews on Friday's. Staff is super cool and very helpful. The frozen fish is not very good, unless your eight! however the fries, and coleslaw are great!

Got to stay here for 2 nights and I am telling y'all, this hotel has got to be the second best I got to stay in. Room was large enough to do yoga, the view is spectacular, the hospitality of the staff were outstanding and y biggest concern... the thermostat was unbelievably amazing!!! I like to sleep with a temperature of 65 below and during my wale hours, 75 and up. The thermostat just do exactly what I want it to do. Fitness center has the lake view. Didn't get to try the Market on 7th floor but I heard from my colleagues that it was pretty good. If I ever find myself on vacation here in Madison WI, I will definitely stay here. Also, you can definitely feel the Christmas Spirit in and out if the hotel. There's a gazillion of christmas trees everywhere!

Every room is spacious, exceptional, and has a beautiful view of either the capital building or the beautiful lake. Or both!

The Edgewater has beautiful views, nice people, food was good but quality of the rooms are low quality, beds fair, baths are oversold as lux, service is not good. Nobody seems to care to make you comfortable and they don't make right when you address it. They charge Ritz Carlton charges and it doesn't deliver.

Very nice- needs some tweeks We got a king room with floor to ceiling windows and on the lake. Stunning! We stayed only one night. Check in was great- the young man who checked us in was so professional and welcoming. Room had a very large bathroom and room was very clean. Couple of things that we weren't thrilled with. 1) Resort fee during a global pandemic. I mean we did not even get a newspaper- 2) 2 Budget motel plastic cups in room- that's it- Come on it's a pandemic- we and most others on our floor were either getting room service or delivery from local eateries. A couple of wine or water glasses in a hotel of this class is the norm. You are charging a "resort fee" after all 3) Very large dog next door barked loud and often. I guess this is allowed. The hotel was obviously not very full - not sure why they stuck someone with such a large, loud dog right next door to an occupied room. Dog was obviously left along in room for long stretches of time. But this is a great option for Madison. Really gave our spirits a lift seeing all the families ( all masked too ) skating and the beauty of the frozen lake. Worth the splurge for a lakeside room. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Stay here a couple weeks ago for a conference and the hotel is located at the edge of the Water by a lake. The lobby is located on the sixth floor and my room was on the first floor. An interesting setup. Overall it was a good stay and the amenities are good. I would recommend if you are staying in Madison Wisconsin.

The Edgewater demands a five star review, but it is not a world class, fabulous, hotel. It is probably the best in Madison, with an unbelievable location on Lake Mendota. However, "caveat emptor." The Edgewater has discovered the wedding business as a profit bearing enterprise, generating millions of dollars beyond what a hotel can earn. The Edgewater, for all intensive purposes, is no longer a hotel. It is now a wedding venue with lots of rooms for the wedding party and their guests. Be prepared, an organic experience is not waiting for you at this hotel. Nothing is real, it is all a contrived fantasy. "Live happily after." "Every bride is a princess" "Our cooing love birds." Yikes! We were here for a wedding of a great friend's son and we splurged. Our very expensive room, $407.00 per night, including taxes and parking, had an incredible view of the lake, and was large and quite comfortable. The bathroom was also scrumptious, but missing a light bulb, which was never replaced even after our request. The Edgewater is a large venue, consisting of several buildings, old and new, upstairs and downstairs. Navigating the spaces should be left to Vasco de Gama. We were constantly getting lost. The young staff were quite well trained and very helpful. However, there is no flexibility at the Edgewater, and their rules are as rigid as the wedding schedules enforced by the numerous wedding planners marching around the venue. Our flight was leaving from Madison at 7:17 P.M. on Sunday. The front desk staff enforced the 12:00 P.M. check out time. No late check out was available. Rather than hang out in the humidity, I spent several hours in their empty coffee shop writing reviews and utilizing the bathroom facilities on the 7th floor. After five days eating and drinking in Wisconsin, no one should go to 7th floor for at least a week.

Last month, during my long weekend getaway to Seattle, WA I had the pleasure of staying at The Edgewater Hotel. I felt like as soon as I walked in that I was in a comfy cozy cabin that was comforting. The Edgewater is the only waterfront hotel in downtown Seattle which gave breathtaking views at all hours of the day. You have the Olympic Mountains in the background and you're looking directly at Elliott Bay. The Edgewater is a Noble House Hotel whom specialize in luxury one of a kind hotels which translated to The Edgewater where no detail was overlooked. My favorite part of the rooms at the Edgewater? The fireplace in your room. There was nothing like listening to the rain and hearing the crackling of the fireplace as you fall asleep. The staff were all friendly, from the bell men to the front desk crew, to the wait staff in the restaurant, and even the gift shop/coffee shop. The guest rooms are either city side or water side, I'd recommend going with the waterview because chances are you'll be exploring the city all day. All the rooms have European-spa style bathroom with glass encased shower which I thought was so fun. I highly recommend staying at The Edgewater for both locals and visitors. At the very least, go for a dinner or cocktail.

I'm between 3 and 4 stars for this hotel. My family and I stayed here over the summer. We brought our young kids, so I made sure beforehand that we could get adjoining rooms. Well, when we arrived, there had been a maintenance issue, so some of their rooms were unavailable. We had to stay the first night in separate rooms (which meant my husband and I had to "sleep" with at least one kid in our bed, kicking us the whole night...). We did get adjoining rooms for the next couple nights of our visit, but the staff wasn't overly apologetic or anything. They didn't comp us anything for the hassle, which kind of surprised me because it was a big pain in the butt. The rooms themselves were nice enough. For the price, I expected them to be what they were--though I wish they had been a little bit cleaner. I've posted pics, too, and you can see there were white stains on the curtains and bed spread (ew). The lamp shade was half covered in a water stain. So that was kind of gross. The only thing redeeming this hotel for me is the location. Our rooms didn't look onto the lake, but it was so nice to be able to walk out and sit on the dock. The sunsets we saw there were stunning. I don't know if I would stay here again. The next time we visit Madison, I'll probably shop around for a different hotel.

I would have given this hotel four stars but there were a few issues. First let me start with the pros. The rooms were nice and spacious. The bathroom was huge. Loved the wall in shower. The view was wonderful and the private patio was nice. Just a tad too cold to use it. Now for the cons. There was garbage laying on the patio, wet naps and old breakfast sandwiches. So housekeeping definitely did not clean this up in between guests... Kinds makes me wonder what else they didn't clean. Also, on of the robes had a brown stain on it, super disgusting. Again... What speeding they clean? The other thing that I did not like, was when you turn on the bathroom light about seven lights go on. There is no option to turn on just one, so in the middle of the night when you have to use the restroom, you are blinded... Not a great experience. Overall it's a nice place just questioning the cleanliness.

This is definitely not a high end hotel like you'd get in a major/metropolitan city. The space is modern and impressive and the location is incredible - right on the lake, just east of UW-M. The staff was a mixed bag: some were friendly, helpful and professional, while others were (or looked like) slovenly college students who did not realize they work at the (supposedly) best hotel in the city. The room was fine, but very plain. The cafe/market was very nice. It was definitely not a luxury hotel like it thinks it is.....

My husband and I have stayed four times in the past year; we adore it. It's our stopping point between Mayo and home. We got the Langdon Studio King three of the four times, and a regular Langdon room once. We will always book the Studio King if we can, to enjoy the added space, and the uninterrupted view of the lake. It makes for a placid stay. The king bed and pillows are extra comfortable, and the bathroom is pretty big, with a shower, separate soaking tub, plus robes, a scale, and in-mirror television. The sitting area includes a table and chairs, plus two other easy chairs near the 60' television. I use the WiFi and can comfortably work. We always order room service as soon as we arrive. I highly recommend the arugula salad. For breakfast, I usually order a Greek yogurt with granola, honey and berries, plus a carafe of coffee to enjoy all morning. The spa is good. I've gotten manicures, pedicures, and the foot treatment. My husband had a deep tissue massage and showed up at the room afterward looking completely blissed out! The pedicure chairs are very comfortable, with an adjustable neck pillow so you can truly let go and relax. What else....car service, a helpful concierge, good restaurants within walking distance...I could truly live here.

Family was very gracious to get us this hotel for a 2 night visit, so a feel bad about whining in this review (for them, not the hotel). They paid a whooping 900 bucks on a game day, for a "lake view" room. Although we were not there for the stupid, insignificant, college football gameWell, by lake view it means we have to by pass multiple neighbors to look on our far right side and get a corner of lake. I had to go on their website to double check if they gave us the wrong room. I am pretty acquainted with hotels that charges $400, in fact, I am very acquainted with hotels from $40 to a much higher price tag. The room shouted BORING and TASTELESS and circa 2000 at its best. Looking at the public toilet seat in the bathroom, and the perpetual impossible to remove water stain, the brown ish gross looking tile grout, it's safe to say that I wouldn't pay over 100 for this place. Any business 3 stars (Hampton Inn, Hyatt regency for instance, new Marriotts) will easily pass its interior design and level of cleanliness, and charges a much lower fare. The entire hotel design also made absolutely no sense. Parking is at level 4 to reach to this tunnel to get direct into hotel. The elevator was impossible to find. This is freaking Midwest 3rd tier city they couldn't even make it make much sense than Chicago. Try to stop by the snack shop, deeply disappointing. Girl in the shop was on her phone swiping, possibly candy crashing. Don't waste your money. It is a man made lake anyways.

I loved the aesthetics of the hotel. It is really beautiful! I thought my room was gorgeous! I really enjoyed my bathtub. I wish I could say more about the staff, but they truly weren't spectacular. They all seemed relatively new. I hope the service is better when I go back. The greatest part about it, is that it is lake front. The view is lovely.

The Edgewater Hotel is a pleasant surprise in the quiet city of Madison, Wisconsin. While most of this city looks like small town America, The Edgewater has more of a "we've been here" vibe to it. It's located right on the water with some pretty awesome views of the peninsula. There is a restaurant on the premises with panoramic windows that also offer some amazing views while enjoying a meal. The rooms are nice, but actually not as nice as you would expect given the beauty of the overall hotel. Rooms are clean and decent size, but not as modern as other parts of the hotel such as he lobby, restaurant and bar area. None the less, my room offered amazing views of the water as well and made for a beautiful sight at dusk. The bar area is hopping. I was here on a Monday night and the place was packed up until at least midnight. Plenty of seating, a very good wine selection and very large bar. This is definitely the trendy place to stay in Madison and it's worth it.

My friend and I had dinner at the Edgewater's (not casual) Boathouse restaurant. We each ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious! Our server, Johannes, was delightful and even drew us a map to help us figure out a way to get back to our cars using the Edgewater's underground tunnels so that we didn't have to go out in the rain! The views overlooking the lake are spectacular. Highly recommend.

Our arrival to the Edgewater was very late. We booked one of the Edgewater king rooms. The rooms was very spacious. We would of booked a nicer room but the plan was just to arrive sleep and go. Well the room had very nice towels and the water was hot! The bathroom was very clean and the bed was incredibly soft. The room had a bathtub that had an ok view, but for a standard Edgewater king the room was very big. It had a desk and well a closet. The heated floor did take forever to kick in the morning. Well at least I think that's what the buttons did lol. We arrived late and check in was a breeze. The Valet parking service was very quick and friendly. We woke up in the morning to find out that there were many things to do at the hotel. The Hotel had a nice boat house along with an amazing view. We walked outside for a bit and checked out the spa and the little shops. We took some time to look at the restaurants and if it's a Friday and you want breakfast eat at the hotel. We wanted to hit the road and found out there was almost nothing open at the time. We ended up eating sushi for brunch lol. The Restaurant was very impressive as well as the bar. This is not the place for a one night stay I would recommend multiple nights.. There are also events at the hotel so there are tons to do. The valet parking for the night is 25$ and its a one time fee so you can get your car back multiple times

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Actually, I want to live here!. No doubt the best location in Madison. Really friendly employees and an elegant atmosphere. The real star here are the rooms. They are big, great views. The bathroom has a soaking tub, heated granite floors for those cold Wisconsin winter nights. Bed is super comfy and you'll just melt into the luxury sheets. Great options for dining... you really won't need to leave. This is the top choice for a get away weekend or business trip in a great city. Really.... DON'T stay anywhere else.

I'm surprised by the overall stars here. We had nothing short of a phenomenal and relaxing experience here. The view was incredible in our suite and the bathroom included a huge tub and very nice shower. We had a full kitchen, stove, and dishwasher in the suite, and the beds were super comfy. The ammenities here blew us away and I got two great workouts in. Love the fitness rooms!

This review is for the hotel as I experienced it. I've been here a few times for functions. I attended the oyster fest and they tasted nice but they were way over priced. Parking is a little expensive!!! You would think guests should be given a break or free parking. Coming here with others who stayed they complained about the resort fee. With the additional fees and charges I have in fact taken work functions elsewhere who won't nickel and dime you over everything.
