3 Historic Autograph Collection Hotels - AFAR

"Drawing on Chattanooga and Tennessee River Valley history, this 90‑room hotel—named for bridge designer Edwin Thatcher—overlooks the Walnut Street Bridge (completed in 1890) and intentionally connects guests with local culture by displaying more than 100 curated works by regional painters and sculptors throughout rooms and public spaces. The property can arrange private tours of the adjacent Hunter Museum of American Art, offers a Modern American restaurant that honors regional cooking methods, and features a rooftop bar with nearly 200 whiskeys (including many from Tennessee) alongside sweeping views of the Tennessee River." - AFAR

Would definitely recommend this hotel! In my opinion, the Edwin is the best view and location in Chattanooga. The upstairs rooftop bar, The Whiskey Thief, is beautifully done. The drinks were spectacular and the bartenders were very hardworking. The place is just totally my speed. My personal favorite part is the long walking bridge over the river right outside of the hotel. This allows for access to even more shops and restaurants nearby just on the other side of the river. There is so much to do, you will never be bored at this location. The service is great from the moment you walk in the door, the rooms are very well kept and nice, the bar is great, bathrooms are nice, beds are comfortable. No complaints. Also- the ice cream shop directly across the street is a nice touch. I go every time I visit!

My husband and I stayed at The Edwin this past weekend. Front desk check in was not the greatest experience, I don’t remember the young man’s name who checked us in but his attitude definitely was not appreciated nor pleasant. One example of his rude behavior is when I handed him my ID and as I put my hand up for him to give it back, he places it on the desk instead of in my hand. He had a very sarcastic air about himself, I didn’t appreciate the lack of hospitality at all. Our check out experience on the other hand was wonderful, Hailey was great, very nice and friendly, she understands the importance of hospitality and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. Otherwise the room was decent. The pool is tiny which is unfortunate. Whiskey thief (the rooftop bar) was great. Not sure that I would choose to stay again, but also not sure that I wouldn’t.

The Edwin in Chattanooga might just be the coolest hotel I’ve ever checked into — and I’ve stayed in places with robot concierges. With its funky pop culture flair and a splash of local art everywhere you turn, it feels like a boutique museum where you also get room service. The rooms? Impeccably designed. If you manage to snag a riverfront suite, brace yourself — the views are so stunning, you might find yourself narrating your morning coffee like you’re in a travel documentary. Our suite even had a private outdoor patio, perfect for pretending you’re a much fancier version of yourself. And here’s the cherry on top: a record player with actual vinyl, so you can unwind with some smooth grooves while lounging in your robe, sipping overpriced minibar whiskey like a rockstar on a wellness retreat. In short: spring for the suite. Stay for a few days. Bask in the vibes. You won’t regret it.

Beautiful hotel on the river. Walking distance to markets and outdoor live music on the river. The hotel provided fresh waters to the room daily and there was a nice premade old fashioned waiting for us when we arrived. Room service was quick. The hotel restaurant had amazing brunch and we loved the provisions coffee shop when we were on the go. The rooftop pool, bar and gym were nice touches. If you plan to go to the spa while you’re here, book before you get here. I tried to book a facial for Sunday when we arrived on Friday and they didn’t have availability. I truly enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back again.

My stay at The Edwin Hotel was truly amazing. I loved every part of it, especially the staff. One staff member, Christopher, stood out. His professionalism and attentiveness for hotel guests really deserve recognition. He handled all of our needs with the upmost care and we couldn’t have asked for better.

We stayed at the Edwin Hotel in March 2025. Overall, the hotel was great, but a few aspects of the experience let me down and leave me uncertain if I will return.||Valet is the only parking option here. Service was fast, and I appreciate the link provided via text message to retrieve the vehicle. You don't have to download a mobile app. We had an electric car and they did not charge it. Maybe they don't have charging?||Location is top notch. Less than five minutes to the bluff art district or to the riverwalk. Less than ten minutes to the aquarium and dozens of great restaurants in the downtown area. All this while being situated in a quiet part of the city with little noise and distraction.||I am a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium member, which is the reason for selecting this hotel. If it weren't a Marriott property, it would not have come across my radar and I would not have stayed here. At check-in I was provided two free drink tokens (more on that below), the choice of 1,000pts or a $10 food and beverage credit (the standard welcome gift for Platinum and higher status), and continental breakfast at White Bird or 750pts (offered because they don't have a lounge like Autograph Collection hotels are supposed to for Platinum and higher status).||The free drink tokens are usable at White Bird or Whiskey Thief. We went to Whiskey Thief where they presented us a special menu with a few mixed drinks, wine, and beer to choose from (photo attached). |We ordered additional drinks and food at Whiskey Thief during their happy hour, but didn't notice until leaving that they mischarged us for everything we purchased. Our fault for not paying attention, but how are happy hour price modifications not automated in their POS system?||For breakfast at Whitebird, our included breakfast meant a selection from three different continental items each valued at $10 rather than selecting breakfast from the menu. We could not use the $10 value of the breakfast as a discount toward other items on the list. This breakfast "offering" was definitely the low point of the stay and the primary reason I'm not sure I'll return. There's no reason they couldn't provide us with a proper breakfast like Autograph Collection hotels are supposed to. I'd happily trade the silly drink tokens for a full breakfast.

One of my favorite hotels in Chattanooga. The hotel is beautiful and the staff from the valet to the maintenance crew are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. The hotel seems to be built well as we heard very little noise from our room. The rooftop bar, Whiskey Thief is a must visit whether you stay there or you are visiting Chattanooga. They do close early on Sunday. They also sent us a complimentary pre-mixed old fashioned for my wife's birthday I believe. They also have free bikes you can use while you are there which is great. They do need to check on the tire pressure once in a while because my tires were half flat. I really look forward to staying at this hotel again!

Yelp
Loved the location! The artsy atmosphere you had in the lobby and the rooftop area! Pool outside for when warm (kinda of chilli these past days so we didn't go) , good restaurant downstairs, pet friendly - the most important thing for us!! Room was perfect size and clean and all staff was friendly !

Yelp
This is a nice facility in a fantastic location, with just a few quibbles. The lobby is gallery-like, with modern art making for pleasant public areas. The Edwin is situated in a perfect location, right at the foot of the Walnut St. pedestrian bridge and adjacent to the Hunter Museum, with the Tennessee Aquarium just a short walk away. Another great feature is the Whiskey Thief bar on the top floor, with an interesting cocktail list and a knockout view of the city, river, and surrounding hills. The restaurant, Whitebird, is fine if not terribly exciting. The rooms are smallish to be honest, but with quality finishings. I didn't care for the high-backed sofa that serves as the seating, as it wasn't really suitable for lying back with a book for a good read. It seems to be quite a popular place on the weekends. I paid over $500 with taxes, which I found high in the final analysis. There was a wedding in the hotel when I was there which may have contributed to supply and demand pricing, but I would bet there are frequent weddings so high weekend rates may just be a fact of life with this hotel.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel from top to bottom. It was crowded when I was here so valet parking was backed up. The solo valet worker was working hard. Poor guy. He was great considering the circumstances. I was so intrigued by all the amazing artwork /decor and just the aesthetics of the hotel in general! So it's lots to look at throughout. On the 5th floor is where the whiskey thief bar and restaurant is located. It's beautiful as well!! And the view isn't too bad either. Ha! Actually it's AMAZING! Highly recommend the rooftop experience with a nice cocktail. The hotel concierge will validate your valet parking ticket at the front desk. I didn't really understand this. However, I did tip valet attendant upon departure. This is a super nice area and I really enjoyed taking in all the sights and sounds for the first time! I will definitely return soon!

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Edwin Hotel. The front desk staff was friendly, and I appreciated the option to pre-order a fruit platter. The hotel's spa deserves a solid 9 out of 10 rating. The property itself is stunning, with chic and clean rooms boasting incredibly comfortable beds. Though I couldn't fully utilize all the amenities due to exhaustion, I was able to unwind at the spa, which provided a truly relaxing experience. The only drawback was an initial overcharge on my card, but it was eventually rectified after nearly two weeks. While I'm still contemplating future bookings, I would definitely revisit the spa for its serene ambiance.

Yelp
Our stay was "ok." When we checked in, the employee didn't say anything. No "you can find our restaurant here" or "thank you for choosing the Edwin, the gym is located xxx." He didn't even tell us our room number or say anything about valet parking. He. Said. Nothing. My daughter and I agreed that the decor came off as "trying too hard to be cool." Valet was exceptional. The employee in the coffee shop was exceptional. There was walking noise from the room above and noise from the hallway. We'll stay here again, but only for the location, not the hotel itself.

Yelp
The Edwin is truly a special hotel that made us fall in love with Chattanooga! Priced very moderately for a great value, perfectly located and fully embodying the artsy vibe we enjoyed the most about this town. Decor is beautiful from lobby to the lounge to the well appointed rooms to the Whiskey Thief rooftop bar. James is an amazing advocate for the hotel and gave us a most appreciated tour of the rooftop with a history of the town, the hotel, and best places to visit in Chattanooga. If you'll be visiting Chattanooga, look no further than The Edwin for a special stay.

Yelp
Excellent location!! Spacious rooms and accessible to walking paths and the bridges to downtown. Valet parking as well

Yelp
What a great location. Rooms were quite small in my estimation, and not a single chair in our entire room. That made things a bit uncomfortable. Has those terrible barn doors for the bathroom, which are noisy and provide no sound privacy. Public space is nice with lots of smaller sitting areas to meet groups. The small shop for drinks or snacks is not open enough during the day. Valet parking was efficient, but a bit too pricy. You can walk pretty much anywhere in the downtown area from this location, which is a huge plus. Always felt extremely safe. Everything clean.

Yelp
The most magical, memorable stay we've had since Covid started. Everyone was so pleasant and accommodating especially Chase (s) (yes, there are 3 of them in this facility)!!! From all the art work, to the pristine accommodations along the Tennessee river bank, what's not to like. Learning the history as one goes along the past, from the tragic to the moments where one gets to enjoy the celebrated life that we all live. Walking and hiking along trails forged in the heartland of possessiveness that was so decisive in our most recent past.

Yelp
The Edwin Hotel is a beautiful hotel with a modern vibe. Priced very modesty for their stylish ambience and hospitable demeanor. Truly a great location to getaway and yet have everything within reach, if needed.

Yelp
Although I've never stayed in a room at this hotel and can't speak on that, I have visited The Edwin Hotel many times. This hotel would be a strong choice if I were to be visiting and staying in Chattanooga. There is valet service upon check-in. Note there is very limited parking near The Edwin, so I would imagine that being your best bet if you have a car. The hotel is gorgeous! It is centrally-located in the downtown area. It has many points of interest nearby, especially the Bluff View Art District, Chattanooga's many museums, coffee shops, restaurants, the famous Walnut Street Bridge, and sooo much much more. The lobby is beautifully decorated in Modern and Art Deco design. My pIctures of our visits speak for themselves. The people who work here have all been very friendly, informative and accommodating. We have eaten in the attached restaurant named 'Whitebird'. The restaurant has delicious food! We have also gone to the rooftop bar for a cocktail during Happy Hour. The views from the rooftop bar are gorgeous, depending on the time of day. At night you can see the city all lit up and during the day you can see much of the activity going on around the park areas. The hotel is within walking distance of the many points of interest that I've mentioned. Make sure you bring your swimsuit to take a dip in the indoor pool!

Yelp
Let's talk about five star and then let's talk about Chattanooga five star! When I think five star hotel I think the Langham in NY or any Ritz Carlton. This hotel is not 5 star. It is nice I will give it that but when you go to bed and you're a blonde and you find long dark hair and short dark hair in your bed. You think either the sheets were not washed or the maid has both a beard and long hair! Rooms are small and cute but It's not high end by any means. It's cute but luxury is not a word I would use to describe this hotel. There is nothing above and beyond here at this hotel. The whiskey rooftop bar is the best thing about this hotel!

EcoVoyager And E.

Yelp
We stayed for one night at the Edwin Hotel. I found our stay to be very comfortable. The room was a good size. The sheets and towels were clean maybe smelled a little bit like bleach. The room was very quiet. You can cast your phone to the TV which is nice for watching programs. The rooftop bar has excellent views.

Yelp
We booked this 3 weeks ago and called the front desk to make sure we got everything we needed since we were splurging for the big suite. We even called a few days before to confirm before the 5 hour drive. Once we arrived, someone checked our car into valet. But, there weren't enough people working so I went in to check in. The girl at the front desk assured me she didn't overbook the hotel. Somehow, the "system" did it. And our suite was given To someone else. While searching for some other place to stay and trying to get confirmation we wouldn't be here, the front desk girl told me she "bumped someone else" we did have a room after all. I still waited around the car as I didn't feel comfortable leaving out front unlocked. So I'm torn. I now know how that feels to be bumped. And now they've simply done that to someone else? Not 5 minutes of walking into the room, cleaning service knocked on our door. "Would we be needing any cleaning? It was 7:30pm! After laughing a bit he handed me what seemed to be an opened bottle of some type of bourbon. There was no label on it (see photo) He didn't speak English, so I smiled and took the bottle he handed me. Finally, ge knocked once more abs handed me two macaroons on a plate and two tumblers. See photo: After pulling some promotional material out of the first tumbler, there was a baby roach climbing from the bottom to the top of the glass. I will update this review as we go. It must go uphill from here. Right? Oh, and the dog bed and water bowl never showed up. I wonder if someone in the larger suite has a dog bed? Not drinking the bourbon! But, cheers! Also, I wonder who thinks the person that does the cleaning should also carry food abs drink on the cleaning cart? A little confused.

Yelp
what a lovely and welcoming hotel from the moment you arrive and Joe the valet parking attendant greet you to the staff at the front desk and the wonderful James who offered to take our photo and what a good photo it was the rooms are beautifully decorated. The art installations are captivating, and I would not want to stay anywhere, but the Edwin when visiting Chattanooga Tennessee.

Yelp
The Edwin Hotel Downtown Chattanooga is a prime location waterfront that has easier access to all the finest attractions. The concierge was super nice. It was nice to have them open the front doors for us. The bellmen helped people bring up their luggage. Reserve a table at the Whitebird where chefs prepare artful creations using organic ingredients that are in Chattanooga Tennessee regions. There was someone at the hostess who was polite. The menu looked like there were delicious entrees on there. ~~~~~~~~~~~ There are spectacular views that overlooks the Tennessee River and Lookout Mountain while sipping on a handcrafted cocktail served from the full service bar on the rooftop of the hotel. There are business centers on site that offers facilities that can be booked in advance. The business center has rooms and conference rooms that focuses on the space sizes to accommodate the amount. There are weddings and banquet services. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yelp
We picked the hotel because of the rooftop bar and location. The rooftop bar refused our entrance at 7:45 pm on a Sunday night. Two plus hours before closing, the hostess exclaimed that we could not enter because of events of the previous night. I still am not quite sure of the relevance?? Then, the best part: unfortunately in rushing to check out of this unpleasant hotel, we left a toiletries bag which included some of my mom's jewelry (a wedding band of 30+ years of marriage).. I was assured there was no such items in lost and found and then no one picked up the phone after trying to request. When potential theft was mentioned, they replied that it was unfortunate on my part, and they can do nothing about this. They seemed more worried about the police report than attempting to look for anything. Love how no one has responded (it's more than two weeks out), and without getting a bill, had a credit card charged $500 + basically for being robbed.. In short, I strongly suggest staying somewhere else

Yelp
First time staying at the Edwin Hotel in Chattanooga. We were looking for a wonderful Christmas experience that was an easy drive from Franklin. Loud construction going on right next door - so awful to listen to constant banging! The hotel's Christmas decorations are IMO tacky and ugly!!! I was expecting elegant/upscale style but instead got hot pink and cheap Our room is extremely small - NO chair or love seat - I love to read and was picturing a cozy spot to relax! While the hotel is dog friendly they do NOT provide dog beds or dog bowls (and again there is hardly any room for them to sleep because the room is so small. We used our Marriott points to keep our executive status but honestly I feel claustrophobic and so disappointed that I'm ready to leave early! We have a "view" of the valet station - the hotel doesn't seem busy at all so I don't understand why we got such a small room with no view! Construction noise is horrible! Lacking Christmas I thought the riverfront and pedestrian bridge would be all decked out for the holidays but it was so disappointing. One very sad tiny tree by the carousel and a few blinking lights on the bridge. My boyfriend had wanted to take me to the Biltmore but I thought Chattanooga would be easier & lovely- I was sorely mistaken! The room does have a small fridge and a small area for clothes. The drawers are a nice touch! Good

Yelp
Perfect location, perfect stay!!! Finally, somewhere in Chattanooga that has become our go to place when we visit. While there you can walk over to Northshore by the "Blue Bridge" to shop or turn right to visit Hunter Museum of American Art. You are just steps away from all the eateries on Broad and Market Streets and the local favorite Aquarium. Across the street, ther is even an adorable Walnut Bridge Market that has IPAs and outside seating for lounging. If we were not impressed but all of that, on the bottom floor of the hotel is Whitebird (Appalachian cuisine) and Provisions coffee bistro. While here, we plan to visit the rooftop bar for a smooth glass of our favorite whiskey at Whiskey Thief and take in twilight in this beautiful city. If you want a romantic getaway, The Edwin is the perfect choice! --- updated 4/10/19 Upon arrival today, I pulled up my Marriott Bonvoy app to mobile check in for our room at The Edwin. I immediately saw that our room had changed so I called the hotel to confirm. Angel politely informed me that since the room we requested was booked, they upgraded our room to the King Suite with the balcony overlooking the river. Uhhhh WOW!!!! Nothing felt better than walking into our amazing room and seeing the Walnut Street bridge, tranquil river and stunning architecture of the Hunter Museum all on the horizon. The Edwin Hotel has done it AGAIN!!!! You guys have my .

Yelp
I did not receive an autograph for my collection the whole time I was here. This visit was a special surprise. On arrival, someone stole my car but gave it back at the end of the trip just as promised. He had a French name so I trusted him. Rooms are spectacular. We got to lay on a chair and feel like we were being painted. There is a bridge nearby and the walk over this was enchanting. After visiting the amazing Whitebird Restaurant we enjoyed taking pictures around the hotel. The world's greatest brussels sprouts are found here. They may be laced with addiction!! On our 17th order, we were asked to leave. We then came back dressed as Colonial people. They fell for it until we ordered the brussels sprouts. An amazing 2 night stay and I thoroughly enjoy the $44 glass of wine on our final evening at the Whiskey Thief which just has the best reviews. I wish they had whiskey. We will catch him one day. Ed may have won this round but we really did feel like champions.

Yelp
This is the boutique hotel that Chattanooga deserves. Great vibe, solid on site food options. Walking distance to the aquarium, hunter museum, and stroll across the walking bridge. This is a great spot and I'll be back as soon as possible.

Yelp
High dollar but fantastic view. 2 drinks with tip $60.00. Did I mention the view. Very upper crust amenities. Will take friends back for view but will we stay long probably not.

Yelp
The Edwin is a very nice hotel. Got a 2 queen room and it was roomy with a spacious bathroom. Lobby was clean and well decorated. Staff was friendly. Location was absolutely perfect as well. Felt there were little details that went above and beyond, sparkling water tap on every floor, robes in the rooms and courtesy water bottles in the room. Constructively, our hotel floor smelled like weed, there were dirty room service trays with dishes / food in the hall, yet room service wasn't offered at the hotel. Also, the valet wasn't busy but took forever to get you car. We requested well in advance but to no avail had to still wait in the cold. If we return to Chattanooga I might try another Marriott before returning here.
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoyed my brief stay at the Edwin. The atmosphere is welcoming and the decor is full of beautiful/interesting art. The room was comfortable and well appointed. I slept well:). My only recommendation is to add seating by the entrance. I needed to wait for my ride and had nowhere to sit that allowed a view of the front door. Also it is valet parking only, I personally like to self park but that's just me. I still highly recommend the Edwin!

Yelp
Worst sunset I've ever seen because all these bottles of booze were in the way. Frankly, I'll just have to drink some more and get over it. Maybe, if everyone came in and drank all the booze, we could see the sunset without all the interference. Agatha (pictured) is the quintessential host and is the "Bees Knees" of beverages! When in town, it is a must to hit this place and enjoy the wonderful sunset overlooking the Walnut Street bridge and Tennessee River. I had the fried green tomatoes and chicken wings along with the iron Mike Johnson award-winning martini.

Yelp
This hotel is OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced garbage. They charged $555+ for one night in a Double Queen (as a Bonvoy Silver Elite member) ??? It's Chattanooga, folks! For the price, I was expecting a first class, full service hotel. We arrived at 9:00 p.m.on a Saturday night and was told by the surly young man (?) at the front desk that there was no bell service (lug your own bags), and no restaurants or room services available on the property -- not even a mini-bar. The nearest place to eat was a 1/2 mile away. The only other option was an upstairs night club called the Whiskey Thief that was screamingly loud, packed full of drunk people getting into fights, and offered nothing but overpriced (nasty) deviled eggs and other bar snacks. I made the reservation months in advance and asked for a quiet, upper floor room. Our room was on the second floor, next to the elevator, over looking the valet parking and the entrance. It was also next to a neon "Hotel" sign light that shone above and below the curtains. The room was mediocre, at best, and not particularly clean -- greasy wipe marks on the desk, stained towels, and a filthy carpet. The whole vibe is some sort of outdated hipster gig. The valet parkers are all dressed like extras from "Peaky Blinders" (hats, suspenders, and all), the elevators assault you with gigantic, upclose, B&W photgraphs of strangers' faces, and the bathroom walls are covered with disturbing and bizarre murals. IN SHORT . . . AVOID. THE READ HOUSE (a mile away) is an elegant, full-service, Art Deco hotel for half the price!!!!

Yelp
We have stayed here a number of times. This time was below our expectations. There was no one to help with our luggage. We were out of our room from 10 to 1. No one cleaned it. We were supposed to have turn down service but that apparently meant no regular service. The phone in our room did not work. When we went to the restaurant fir breakfast we had to wait 18 minutes for a table. There was no one at the desk and no one even acknowledged our presence until I went to the main desk of the hotel and complained. The coffee in the shop downstairs was totally stale. They don't give you bottles of water in the room just empty bottles you have to go down the hall to fill up with mystery water if some kind. The prices are like NY prices without the NY service. When I complained to guest services they didn't seem to much care. Never staying here again.

Yelp
Between the Whiskey Bar on the rooftop and the White Bird (?) on the ground floor I am very disappointed. I do not care how pretty the place is when the attitude of everyone there is pretentious beyond belief! This includes the management staff! How disappointing that we are trying to get more people to visit our city but then we take them to the Edwin Hotel and we all left with a sour taste in our mouths. Shame on you Edwin Hotel! I don't care if you wish to cater to a certain "clientele", your staff should still have a better attitude towards people who come to spend their money on your establishment. You don't know who has what these days, but the pretentious attitude of the complete staff will now travel to Atlanta as our friends were disgusted by both of your establishments. I was so embarrassed.

Yelp
From the outside it looks like a run of the mill boujee hotel... but INSIDE it's an eccentric, aesthetic atmosphere that screams class. Would recommend

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with great decor. The service staff went above and was expectional. The hotel is in a great location to walk to several attractions within the Chattanooga area. It also offers great view of the city. Great place to stay if you coming to Chattanooga area. TC

Yelp
What a Beautiful Hotel in a very entertaining downtown Area. I was very pleased with the room size and the great customer service they provide. Very clean and modern hotel with beautiful art through out to enjoy . We took a walk in the area and I can say we had some breathtaking views . Was only 2 minute drive away from my favorite stop (The Boathouse)

Yelp
We wanted an quick impromptu get away while in Chattanooga Tn. The Edwin fit the bill. After doing a few searches on a couple of travel sites, my girlfriend and I decided the Edwin Hotel. We were not disappointed. Location, location location!!. To start the location of the Edwin is perfect. Everything is in walking distance, no matter what your looking to do. Next, the hotel...simply put...beautiful..from the outside, it looks modern but not particularly fabulous..but on the inside,...wow..beautiful, unique art work everywhere..and i mean real art, not prints...the roof top bar is absolutely everything..a must..the food, drinks, VIEW..!! The room as not as spacious as I would have liked but nice all the same..the bed was very comfortable and the ambiance was great also. The more you pay, the level of niceness increases. SERVICE, SERVICE, SERVICE!! Every single employee had exceptional customer service. Smiles, greetings, and effort to make me and my girlfriend feel uniquely special, and thats what you pay for in my assessment. If you have to pick a place to stay in Chattanooga, the Edwin is highly recommended.

Yelp
Hands down the best staff and service of any hotel I've traveled to. The valet/bellhops absolutely made our day every time we came in and out. Fun decor, comfortable beds, and lots of amenities. I've stayed here multiple times and will continue to do so.

Yelp
So very disappointed with this location. Upon entering the hotel - no one greeted us. They were not busy and had 3 people behind the desk. One guy just looked up and said - I can get you. We were there at 3- of course room not ready yet on a Monday night??. Ok. - they checked our bags. Raining outside so we just wanted to have a drink at wait. Nothing in the hotel was open for us to relax. They did not offer any tips of where to go and when we asked - they said just go down the hill. No umbrellas offered -we left and headed "down the hill". Came back several hours later - they basically threw our keys at us without any support of how to get to our room. The room was adequate- some of the furnishings are run down and missing parts but ok. We went our for a walk on the bridge which was right there and beautiful. We Walked back in around 9:30 - front doors wide open - no one at door and the guys behind the desk just barely spoke as we came into the hotel. The decor throughout the hotel was touted that it was original but was clearly mass produced- but was still extremely cool. Room was a king room - Small but comfy. It was very clean. We went to whiskey thief - had a girl high and trying to drink our drinks (read that review next). Upon check-out this morning the guest service menu was not working so I checked out at desk. The girl asked - so I shared. She asked me to wait to speak to the manager - after waiting for 3-5 min - we just left. Manager - you should be ready at checkout and on your front end to take care of your customers - maybe that is why your front desk associates don't speak , have little to no hospitality manners and just let anyone off the street go into your "secure" facility. I had high hopes for this boutique hotel but I would have expected boutique service - as we exited the valet just handed my husband the key to our parked car down the sidewalk - left unlocked. I have never stayed at a hotel that does not open your door and have your car running for you as they pulled it around. We were the only guests there at the time so the valet just kept on leaning on that stand as we drove away- never to return.

Yelp
Beautiful, modern, and elegant hotel. I stayed here overnight for a family emergency and the staff were kind and helpful. They have valet parking and allow for late check-in. The rooms were very stylish and beautiful. Waterfall/rainwater showers and comfy robes. What more could you want?

Yelp
Beautiful accommodations and really nice staff! We had such a great time! Be sure to check out the roof top bar- had great appetizers and drinks in the evening with a fantastic view of the river. Can't wait to stay there again!

Yelp
We made a last minute decision to stay at The Edwin Hotel after having been in bumper to bumper traffic for 13 hours. We arrived at 7:30 pm and were advised to valet park our car. I expressed concern that we had quite a bit of luggage in the car but was assured by the valet as well as the front desk that our items were safe. After arriving home to Indiana, while unpacking, I discovered two pairs of my designer shoes were missing. I called the hotel and was told that they used a third party service and that they would pass the message along. That's it. I realize it was a dumb decision to leave our luggage in the car, but I'm disappointed that no one seems to care. For this reason, I will never stay at this hotel again.

Yelp
This is the perfect location for a vacation visit to the city of Chattanooga. The Edwin hotel is not a boutique hotel per se... it is what their staff referred to as "business boutique". They don't have as many rooms as your usual hotel, ut it is not crowded either. The artwork is amazing. It's almost like a museum and a small hotel got together and had a child and the Edwin was born. The location of it is also good for vacationing in the Chattanooga area. You're close to the aquarium and various art museums. All of those will be walking distance from you. The staff are very nice and there is a 1930s sort of theme to everything what with the Whiskey Thief prohibition themed rooftop lounge and the high end restaurant with the white tile on the 1st floor off of the lobby. There is a spa downstairs off of the lobby. It seemed to be very well attended with a wide variety of services Including massage, hot stone, facials, dermatology related machines and scrubs and more scented candles than you could sniff in a day. There is a rooftop pool that is small but very nice. I was there for an evening during a weekday. Prices were very reasonable. This is definitely my 1st choice before visiting Chattanooga from now on. Anyone who reads my post or who knows me personally knows that I don't hand out high praise or five's very easily. The Edwin deserves the 5.

Yelp
This hotel is THE best in Chattanooga. The room itself had a great view, clean, nice and had your typical amenities. What makes this hotel so great is the fact that you can walk to anything and everything. It's right next to the pedestrian bridge which gives your access to North Shore. You can also walk to downtown in less than 5 minutes. Coffee shop on-site was great. Bar on the roof was even better. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Waking up at the Edwin. No coffee at 5 am. OK where is coffee available? I ask the nice gal at the desk. She said I could walk to the Double Tree or the Hampton Inn. They have coffee at 6am. The Edwin has made an informed decision that although coffee is common at area hotels at 6am, their coffee shop will open at 7am. This puts me in a challenging thought pattern. Let's see what other mind provoking things happen today. What else will I want and what other hotels have it? Stay tuned...

Yelp
OMG this hotel is amazing!!!! We came here for a work trip and were so impressed. The hotel is smaller with a boutique feel. Everything there was excellent - the service, the location, the room, the amenities and the food! The bed was very comfortable and the decor is stunning. We had drinks on the rooftop and a meeting in the comfy library. I can not wait to come back on a personal trip and try the spa. I absolutely love this hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting Chattanooga!

Yelp
Three things to know about The Edwin Hotel... 1. Stunning rooms and amenities - I enjoyed having Alexa in our room so much that I immediately ordered two for my home. The turn down service included candles, lavender and chocolates. The pod espresso machine was also a nice touch and I got the best sleep of the past two weeks in our comfy bed with lovely pillows. 2. Truly helpful and pleasant staff - from the doormen to the front desk and room service, everyone was superb! We ordered room service and couldn't have had a better experience. BTW..the Oatmeal Risotto is amazing!! 3. A great riverfront location, walking distance to everything you'd want to see in downtown Chatanooga and a stunning view of the Walnut St. bridge and Tennessee river.

Yelp
This is a very nicely appointed, new hotel conveniently located a short walk from the aquarium and art museum. It has a very nice, modern decor, everything is fresh and clean, beds and linens are comfortable, valet, front desk and restaurant staff were friendly. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. It's a 100% dog friendly hotel so any room may have had dogs in it the night before (for a $150 non refundable cleaning fee). We noticed an area in the hall that appeared to have dog waste stains in the carpet that staff were trying to clean up. Sorry, I like dogs but that's just gross. Also, the hotel has its "signature scent" that is sprayed in the halls and rooms after cleaning. It was so overwhelming we couldn't stay after the first night. If you're there on business and need a desk, there really isn't one. It's more like a long shelf with stools slid under it. No comfortable chairs with backs or arms for support. The floors in the rooms are vinyl made to look like wood planks. Very pretty, but we could hear people stepping around above us, which woke us up. Finally, the room has a Nespresso machine that spurts out a shot of espresso. Nice idea but not many folks can stomach a bitter espresso in the morning when they'd really love a nice cup of coffee. The "creamers" supplied are artificial creamers, something we never ingest. Why not "half & half" creamers?

Yelp
We were exploring Tennessee and this was one of our favorite stops. I can't say enough about this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice with a good location. To top it off every night they left treats and a cocktail night cap in our room with a recipe card. What a great touch. Wish more hotels were like this.

Yelp
I had a girls night at the Whiskey Thief (rooftop bar), and it was absolutely STUNNING. This upscale bar has a deck that allows you to see over the Chattanooga river and city; it's perfect at night time. The customer service is also very high quality. Our server made us feel like royalty as soon as we walked through the doors. He went above and beyond his duties as a server and actually talked with us about what drinks he would recommend for each of our tastes. It was such a good experience and I can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
Rooftop pool is delightful. Small but quaint and super views of Lookout Mtn etc. Hotel is very pretty and always very clean.

Yelp
I could not have been more disappointed. This is not a five-star hotel by any means. The staff was very young and very nice, but the overall services in the hotel were almost like a budget motel. There was no in room dining. There was no restaurant open for lunch on Sunday. It looked as though someone forgot to change my sheets because they were all wrinkled and had an order them, and the toiletries were half filled as if someone had already used them. Housekeeping did not make up my room on the second day. The hotel certainly looks beautiful on the outside, and has a fantastic view of the river, but it really is all show and no go. This hotel is an imposter for a high-end hotel, and should be avoided by experienced and discriminating travelers.
