"Heated Suites and Warm Buns Located just off trendy 17 Ave SW, Hotel Elan combines stunning comfort and modern luxury in a boutique hotel. The suites are massive, with a bedroom, living room, and full kitchen, so you’ll feel right at home throughout your stay. Just don’t expect to use the kitchen much, as your private balcony will overlook 17th Ave SW, home to countless tempting restaurants, bars, and lounges that make up one Calgary’s funkiest neighborhoods. These rooms come with a few amenities that you will miss dearly once you check out. I’m talking not just about the heated tile flooring but also the heated toilet seats. Yep. From $199. This was one of my family's best-ever hotel experiences. We had a gorgeous king suite with a balcony that easily accommodated the 4 of us with the sofa bed, which was actually pretty comfy as far as soda beds go. The king bed was super comfortable and the bed linens were really great. The bathroom was really nice and it might have been the best shower I've ever had. They also had a pretty decked out breakfast buffet which we all enjoyed. Truly if I ever found myself in Calgary again I wouldn't even bother looking at other hotels, we really loved our stay there so much.

I enjoyed the full breakfast available every morning along with the little treats daily, such as cookies and coffee. The room was spacious, the bathroom shower has it's own light and the toilet has a seat warmer. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable of the city. A great little hotel and nicely situated just one block of 17th Avenue SW.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the parking is secure and monitored at all times. The room we had was fantastic. Breakfast was included and was a step up from just a continental offering. The free cookies at the front desk was a nice touch (delicious too).

My husband and I stayed five nights here, and it was fantastic! The staff were friendly, knowledgable and very helpful. The "continental breakfast" was more like a full buffet breakfast every morning, with different selections each day. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The location was near the 17th Avenue stretch of excellent restaurants and cafes, and a close walking distance to many parts of downtown and transit, so a perfect place to base one's trip to Calgary. I look forward to staying with them again on our next trip!

Had our meetings there and it was lovely. The rooms were even more than we could have asked for and the bathroom raises a new standard for us. Occitane products and heated toilet seats were the big rave. Great breakfast and great staff. Very flexible with our demands.

We are Expedia gold silver members and were upgraded to a business class room on arrival. We also received free continental breakfast and parking. The room was clean and reasonably furnished. The shower was fantastic in terms of temperature and pressure with very modern fixtures. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed this hotel. Great location. (We came for the Garth Brooks concert at the Saddledome and was able to walk to the concert & walk to a multitude of restaurants etc close by). It was clean and had comfortable beds. It was quiet. And the continental breakfast was probably the best we have ever had - fresh food and laid out perfectly. We received a free room upgrade when we came which was a nice surprise for us. Apparently because we booked directly through their site they gave us a room upgrade. My husband and I will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in need of a Calgary hotel.

Beautiful hotel! Extremly clean and amazingly decorated!! The location is perfect and close to cute shops and lots of restaurant. The complimentary breakfast and host were equally awesome to wake up 2! The entire staff were so helpful and friendly. My entire family LOVED our 3 day stay- highly recommended !

Yelp
Beautiful suites in this hotel... parking wasn't too great, however . Located in an ill-defined kind of neighborhood--- not sketchy not uniform... The interior of our hotel suite was so relaxing and luxuriant. I appreciated the kitchen, the gorgeous rain shower bathroom-- the large bedroom. Breakfast was also quite nice.

Yelp
Decent hotel, average location, very friendly staff, worth the price tag. Stayed one night and enjoyed the size of the rooms, the heated toilet seats, and walk in rainfall shower. Clearly an older building with the bulky AC units but they've done a good job of making it look modern. I appreciated all of the outlets and lighting options. We ended up parking on the street which was free Sunday until 9am Monday morning. Paid parking was cheap for 2 hrs until checkout and well worth it over paying for garage parking. The staff at night was super friendly and showed us cookies along with a whole Tupperware of extras! We arrived late to breakfast so items had been sitting out for a bit but overall not bad since it's included. The chef did come out and ask us if we wanted anything specially made, which was thoughtful.

Yelp
This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Calgary. First of all, the staff are the friendliest people ever!! They were very thoughtful and offered us an umbrella when it was raining. The room was incredible. The shower was amazing. And to top it all off... the free breakfast was beyond good!! Best free breakfast I have ever had :) Would definitely stay again. Location is central to all the cool spots.

Yelp
Positives: Very nice room. Fancy restroom - heated toilet seats with fancy lighting. Very modern looking room. Hotel parking was cheap. Good food choices nearby. Neutral: Free morning breakfast, but very mediocre. Flies flying around. Also, during the night, the lights suddenly came on. All the light switches appear to be "smart". Something must have malfunctioned. We were sleep deprived already, and really, really needed sleep. I got up and switched off the lights. Some time later, they came on again. This happened multiple times. Once, my wife got up and turned the light off, and before she reached the bed they had come on again! The most amusing part: At some point while the lights were on, I adjusted the thermostat and the lights went off! Management said they had never heard of this problem. Given that no other review mentioned it, I did not knock off a star for it. Negative: TV entertainment. I could not use my Chromecast with it. Motels/hotels need to get with the reality of the modern age. I have stayed at places that have various options (e.g. log in to Netflix, allow the use of Chromecast/Roku, etc). In this day and age, regular cable TV is worse than what most people have at home - it's not a plus, but a minus. Regular cable subscription is declining every year.

Yelp
This is a cute little boutique hotel right behind all the bars & restaurants on 17th ave. They have amazing freshly baked complimentary cookies. The guest services are so helpful & polite! I love this place!!

Yelp
Not much to say that hasn't been said already, but worth mentioning that the lobby has free fruit and cookies at all times of the day. The gym was small but adequate with new equipment. Lots of restaurants and bars just a couple blocks away. Big kudos to Rob at the front desk, who was super attentive, friendly and very helpful in pointing us to the Stampede venue and to a cool sports bar just a block away. Would definitely stay here again if in Calgary.

Yelp
Loved this hotel! It's really nice and modern on both the inside and outside. It's in a great location so we could walk to restaurants. The hotel room itself was very luxurious. The shower was very nice with a rain style shower head. The toilet seat was heated. It came with a mini bar, nice lighting features, and a big tv. The bed was huge and super comfortable. One of the nicest rooms I've stayed in and for a great price. The complimentary breakfast was awesome too. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Unassuming hotel in the Beltline neighborhood of Calgary. Geared towards business travelers but suitable for vacationers too who don't want to be downtown. Nice neighborhood with shops and restaurants. Nearby 17th Avenue is under construction though until 2020 so a few blocks are dusty and not fun to walk on. The hotel on 16th Avenue is NOT impacted by the construction though by noise nor dust. Italian modern feel. Rooms are compact but majorly efficient. The bathroom is very nice with large step-in shower with rainfall shower-head and L'Occitane toiletries.Toilet is high-tech. Super clean hotel with nice staff. Their continental breakfast is really a full, hot breakfast buffet--exceeded expectations significantly. High speed wi-fi and free international calls to 70 countries. Would recommend to anyone who does not need a big room with arm chairs/couches and a corporate hotel chain feel.

Yelp
This awesome hotel just celebrated their 1 year anniversary. Stayed there this past weekend. Great area of town - lots of local unique restaurants close by, safe neighbourhood too. Clean rooms, rain shower head, heated toilet, Keurig in the room, Telus Optik TV, SUPER staff! Will definitely stay there again!

Yelp
After spending over a week in National Parks, we stopped for one final night here before flying out of Calgary, and we were thrilled that we did. The hotel is in a wonderful location close to restaurants and shops. They have spa services in-house. And they have underground, secure parking. The hotel isn't huge or so tiny that it's suffocating. The rooms were large and gorgeous. The bed was incredibly comfortable with different firmness of pillow options. The bathroom was the cherry on top - L'Occitane shampoo/conditioner/lotion/shower gel, heated(!) toilet seat, rain shower head, and a precise shower temperature control. (I'm honestly going to incorporate some of what they had in that bathroom in my own master bathroom renovation.) There was also free, fast WiFi. And the included breakfast was very good and filling. Particularly for the price, this was a wonderful stay. This will definitely be my go-to spot for any future stays in Calgary!

Yelp
Amazing location. This hotel really brings its A+ game. The bathroom has more amenities than some spas. The staff were warm, genuine and courteous. I will not stay at any other location in the Calgary area.

Yelp
The staff was welcoming and friendly. The room was beautiful. The issues we had were a shower door that failed to seal so water leaked everywhere. We let the front desk know about the problem and we were told it would be addressed that day. It wasn't. Two lamp switches were also broken and not fixed. The "Appy Hour", which was advertised on line, in the in-room literature, and in the hotel elevator, was not offered because, according to the front desk, the guy who ran it no longer worked at the hotel. Disappointing and not up to five star standard we were expecting. The location was so-so for us.
