My husband and I held our wedding here about a week ago. Curtis, Matt, and their entire team made the evening so much more than we expected it could be with only the 2 weeks planning time we provided them. We were very stressed until our first meeting with them where they assured us they had everything handled, and they truly did. The food was delicious, their communication with us leading up to and during the event was amazing, and their whole team made sure we had everything we needed throughout our dinner. They helped make our day perfect and we are so grateful that they were able to pull everything together for us!

Our second time staying at the Bradstan Hotel and dining at the Homestead. The property is absolutely amazing, both inside and outside. We walked the trail up to Sunrise Lake, it was beautiful. The service at the hotel and the restaurant is also exceptional, but I wish we could stream on the TV, for example, Netflix, YouTube, etc. We also enjoyed the food and the bar.

This is a very pretty place to take a walk around Sunrise Lake. There is a chipped road all the way around so its very comfortable walking ...mostly flat. I think it was like 2 miles around...not far. A bit of elevation to begin but nothing steep. On the far side of the lake there is a fitness trail and a small brook waterfall. As you loop around closer to the end note the great stone table which is a perfect picnic spot. We planned for lunch at The Homestead but it wasnt open.

My husband and I got married at the Eldred Preserve in October of 2024. While we had a gorgeous day at a seemingly beautiful venue there were some glaring negatives that can not go unnoticed. For starters, throughout the entire wedding planning process management gave us very inconsistent information. For example as we got closer to the day of the wedding, we were told by management we would be able to have access to the event room the day before the wedding so we could set up. We even set a time for us to come in that morning. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Scott Samuelson who was extremely rude to us for showing up to the event room the day before to set up. As the day went on, Scott made many ill-mannered comments to myself and my family. As we were putting out some table centerpieces for our rehearsal dinner, I asked if it would be possible to move some seating around to make room for 2 more family members. My dad offered a suggestion of where to seat said family members and was told "and where to you think the table and chairs will come from? Do you have them out in your car?" To which I replied, "I understand this is a big ask it would just be really nice if we could have the extra family members join us tonight after traveling so far for our wedding." The response I got was "You have told me that already, ask me again and see if my answer changes." I would also like to add that we had to have some guests show up the morning of the wedding to set up for the ceremony because Scott would not allow us to set up the night before because we "didn't pay for the additional day" even though we were told previously by other members of management we would be able to do so. Being in the hospitality business there is a way to communicate with customers, and Scott clearly does not possess that ability. Another hiccup worth stating is that while on our initial tour we were told from Katie that the bride and groom got a "complimentary stay" the night of the wedding and was never informed of having to purchase additional nights to qualify for said stay. The contract states "signature suite room for bride and groom on wedding night with a 2 night stay" when the contract should have stated "...on wedding night with PURCHASE of 2 night stay". When Katie reached out asking what additional nights we wanted to stay, there was no discussion on pricing or payment (which was then incorrectly reserved, and needed to be cleared up the day of the wedding). While trying to resolve the incorrect reservation information that required us to pull up a previous email conversation to prove that they reserved the wrong dates, Katie commented that there was a lot of miscommunication from my husband and I. I could go on and on but my intention is not to sit here and slander a business with a negative review, but to give you a heads up of what you are getting yourself into when you book with The Eldred Preserve. If you do decide to use this venue, make sure to tip wait staff and bartenders directly, as we were informed by staff themselves that they personally believed the tips were not being distributed amongst them for prior events. Besides management, the staff (event staff & hotel staff) we came across was very professional, personable and willing to help.

We did not stay here, just ate at the restaurant. We had the shrimp & scallop stuffed mushrooms which made a nice start to the brook trout & pork chop. Disturbingly, no effort was made to debone the trout & the menu makes no mention of it. This aside, we enjoyed the meal paired with a nice Argentinian Malbec & finished with the gingerbread cake. If you're in the area, worth a stop for a pleasant meal.

Three of us had dinner and drinks in their lounge. The atmosphere is beautiful. Chairs are very comfortable and our waiter was wonderful. We had wine and margaritas. We ordered a hamburger, sliders and egg rolls. Kevin, our waiter was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be going back. I highly recommend trying it out. I wish I had taken a picture because the view is breathtaking.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Eldred Preserve! If you’re searching for the perfect staycation spot, this is it. The Bradstan Boutique Hotel was nothing short of stunning—luxurious, cozy, and designed to make you feel right at home. It’s honestly such a nice touch having heated floors in the bathroom. The food at The Homestead? Simply unforgettable! Every bite was delicious from start to finish and the service was superb, making our dining experience truly special. For an extra touch of relaxation, reach out to the front desk before your stay and book an in-room couples massage with Diane and Carrie. Their massages were phenomenal—easily one of the best we’ve ever had! It’s also a perfect birthday surprise or treat to make your stay even more memorable. We can’t recommend The Eldred Preserve enough! Book your stay—you’ll love it as much as we did!

Yelp
Food- adequate, not awful but nothing great. Average , i cant review the potatoes that came with the meal since we never got them. I would have been happy to simply point this out to our waiter , if only he was anywhete to be found. Service : I hate completely bash this guy but ... Our waiter was nowhere to be found after our initial greet. I had to ask for everything we got. We ordered a bottle of wine but recieved a single glass. When I was finally able to wave and get his attention his response was " did you order it from me " wow, just wow ! I'll skip the details but this dude was a ghost, non existent. I had to ask for our food, a box for left overs , a box for desert, our check , I even had to bring our check to the bar ourself to pay. To say it was awful is an understatement. I've never written a review in my entire life, not once. But I've never gone to a restaurant and been completely ignored either. Awful experience. We should have gone to Wendy's or McDonald's. Will never be back.

Yelp
Beautiful accommodation and property. Staff very warm and professional. For an upscale place such as this the breakfast could be a little higher end.

Yelp
Talk about a great place. If you are heading to Bethel Woods, make sure you stop! The preserve backs up to a small lake and stream. It was gorgous! The family stopped in for appetizers and drinks. Gas fireplace and player piano created a very romantic environment. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had happy hour fare - pulled beef sliders, pate, and seafood dip - perfect for happy hour! I strongly recommend the espresso martini! It was delicious! I can't wait to visit again during the day. Sullivan county needed a great restaurant like this!

Yelp
They have slipped! We have been coming here for 2 years and the food is becoming mediocre and weird at best. The NY strip was not cooked to order and the table behind us was complaining of the same thing. For the price all you get is the meat on a plate-no sides/ no salad! I had the mussels which were so funky smelling /half weren't open. I sent it back and just shared the steak with my husband. Only good appetizer is the trout dip but for $14 it is tiny with little cheap crackers to dip-nothing special. The wonderful waitress saved the evening by apologizing immediately and not charging for the mussels. Will only come for drinks on the upper bar from now on.

Yelp
Third try...Aside from the excellent service and nice ambiance, I have to downgrade to 3 stars. The $52 Kansas steaks were awful. The cioppino was served cold. The tuna appetizer was overwhelmed with hot spices. The crab cakes were bready and served over "polenta" with the consistency of rice pudding. The short ribs were tough and definitely not braised. Trout dip was very good. Duck confit ---two large tasty duck legs served with three potato chunks - I had to search for the mushrooms. Bourbon sour was delicious. We were comped with three desserts. Save your money and hit the local diner.

Yelp
This is for the lounge area dining. Delicious onion soup, steaks, sliders and spring rolls in a rustic setting. Would like to try the main dining room.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 6:15 and I'll give them that they were very busy, but when 3 parties who arrived well after us were served and left about 30 minutes prior to us not at all happy. Ordered the Brie cavetelli pasta. Was supposed to have tomatoes, summer squash and bell peppers. Had 1 slice of summer squash, no tomatoes and 2 slivers of bell peppers. Did not leave until 8:45.

Yelp
Me and my husband decided to try out this place during restaurant week and let me tell you the experience was subpar at best. One of the female hosts (had glasses and black hair) was very rude. She was on her phone the entire time we were waiting to be seated and straight up ignored us until we had said we had reservations! After she sat us we had tried to make conversation and she was very short, rude, and completely walked away afterwards. Later on I had gone up and asked if it was possible we could move seats because my husband has back issues and pain, she told us there were no available seats and walked away! Regardless our server was amazing and catered perfectly to our needs. Unsure if we will return, they need to work on who is the face of this place and friendlier atmosphere.

Yelp
So where do I start? The property is beautiful and the buildings are grand. The restaurant was busy but don't expect the The Old Homestead of days gone by. "Yes we have the bread" is about the only thing that tasted like days gone by. Do not have the dip! It will surly ruin your memories of Lenny and and sitting at the bar enjoying the fairly large bowl of the best clam dip ever. I have no idea where they got this recipe but surly it is nothing like the past. And perhaps the present is what you are looking for. First off the smaller than a monkey dish (maybe a side of slaw from the diner sized) portion was fine because it sucked for $14 so spend it on a drink. Oh and the drinks are too not a Lenny pour so let's all measure 9/10 of an ounce of your favorite spirit and have 5. Charge me what you want but please give me a good strong drink. Memories of liquor poured first then mixer then the add the ice are really special. I like the place but don't market it as the Old Homestead of the past. The Bradstan country hotel is a wonderful space and such a pleasant upgrade to the past hotel or bed and no breakfast. I really love the space and how it was designed. And if you ever had the pleasure of staying at the Eldred preserve of the past you will surly find no resemblance. Have a burger at the bar and check the place out.

Yelp
Great ambiance. Food is always top notch. Service is on point. Spirits list is good as well. Great wine list, good beer and amazing cocktails too

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely happy hour at Eldred Preserve last weekend. First, the space and views are gorgeous! I can see why people hold events, including weddings, in this beautiful space. Next, the french onion soup pre-dinner snack was delicious. It far exceeded my expectations. My friends were also very happy with their drinks, and our server was extremely friendly. Great place to unwind with friends or for a romantic dinner.

Yelp
Hidden treasure. Excellent food, ambience and service. The hostess, Jeanne, is a true asset to the Preserve.

Yelp
The ambiance is a five. Gorgeous setting. The decor is soft yet elegant. The food is good. The drinks reasonable and unless you get them from the automatic wine draft and instead from a bartender, the pour is generous. We had a problem with a meal one time and the manager offered us a credit for a future meal. Very classy. Overall the place is worth visiting. The duck is the best I've had anywhere. Try it.

Yelp
This is probably the strangest dinner I have ever had. Came up to Glen Spey with a friend and this place was highly recommended. We had reservations on a Friday night. The only reason I'm giving it one star is for the ambiance. It's aesthetically pleasing and clean. To start, we saw our waitress maybe 3 times in 20-30 minute increments. It was completely dead. One table of 8, our table of 2, and two more tables of 2. We ordered the charcuterie board and it was awful. Prosciutto was hard on the ends and yellow. We were never told what the "extra" protein was and it ended up being liver pate, which neither of us would ever touch. The duck wings were dry. The other weird thing was that they serve you cinnamon sticky bread before your meal. I've never had anything sweet before my main course so that was strange. We both ordered a steak and it was mediocre. The craziest thing is that it comes with no sides. For an 80$ steak I would have expected it came with a side or salad. Once we were done we were ready to leave. No waitress in sight for over 20 minutes. I had to get up and go to the hostess stand and tell them we wanted to leave. Still took our waitress 15 more minutes to check us out. Definitely do not recommend.

Yelp
Service was great. Ambiance was very nice. Food was delicious. Can't wait to come again. Grounds were very picturesque. Can't wait to come again to walk the grounds

Yelp
What a disappointing experience. With restaurant week we decided to give a few local places a try and this one was so disappointing. The place is beautiful and the grounds are stunning. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and we did ask if we could upgrade the soup since we do not eat mushrooms. We were told no 'they don't like that' We ordered the steak which comes with nothing. We also ordered the ravioli and a baked potato. The waitress took our order then came back and took our bread basket, the table behind us was offered more bread, we were not. The salad was good but when the entrees came the waitress handed me the food because she never took our salad plates, then she put the dirty salad plates on the clean table next to us, the steak was very tough and grizzled it was not anything to represent a high end place. The ravioli were good but a very small portion for the price and in no way spectacular in taste or presentation. We were asked for our entire order when we started so after we boxed up what we didn't eat the waitress brought our desserts without offering coffee or anything. I asked her for a cappuccino and she told me she thought the machine was broken and what did I want if it was. I said decaf coffee as did my partner, while she was gone the other table ordered tea and cappuccino...I got nasty burnt old decaf because the cappuccino machine was broken.... Only it wasn't broken for the other table!! They got a lovely cappuccino. I'm not a rude person nor hard to please. I frequently eat at high end steakhouses and also the local steakhouse in the casino this week. I'm so upset that I spent $120 on such a sad experience. If you don't care about your money try this place but honestly if you want great local go to cellaio steakhouse in the casino, Go to Ciao Bella or Solai. From service to food you will not be disappointed in any of these like this. Honestly why do the restaurant week if this is how you are going to represent your restaurant. If it was just one thing but the entire experience was foul. I get better service and food at Tilly's.

Bob E.

Yelp
My wife and I visited the resort in mid August of 2023. We stayed for three nights` to celebrate a major birthday. The cabin in which we stayed was wonderful in every way. The cabin was decorated beautifully and was not only very comfortable but allowed for a magnificent view of the landscape through an enormous window arrangement. The continental breakfasts were generous and there was something for everyone. The grounds are wonderful to stroll through and as an amateur photographer, allowed for spectacular landscape photos. We had our children and grandchildren join us in a celebratory dinner at the Homestead Restaurant-in a private indoor/outdoor space which was perfect for our needs. Food and service were excellent as were the birthday cake and flowers gifted by the management. It was like being invited to a wealthy friends' country retreat. All in all a wonderful stay and highly recommended to couples or families as a getaway from the crowded city. Marvin F.

Yelp
Went here once as a kid and I guess back then I didn't appreciate good food! Went over this Thanksgiving break and were floored but the upscale ambiance, inCREDIBLE mushroom soup, and the best sirloin I've ever tasted done to absolute perfection! That, along with the elegant holiday decor and soothing piano means me and mine will be back for sure! Maybe to stay next time!

Yelp
I am happy the preserve is back but the place is bland. Parking stinks, no directions wanted to go for a beer place all looks the same buildings numbered ? For what ? Very disappointed I left. If I don't know where I am going with in 30 seconds guess what ? I am leaving. They need to make the place more user friendly. Again PARKING SUCKS ! If I can't bring an elderly person to your place we are not coming. Did I say ? Parking sucks

Yelp
This restaurant is stunning. Located in Eldred, NY, a quiet sanctuary and yet a dynamic restaurant/bar with a NY Club feel. We have been fortunate enough to go for many dinners here, but last night my husband and I went for our Valentine's Dinner. We were even more fortunate that the SuperBowl was happening, which seemed to keep people away! That might not have been fortunate for the waitstaff and everyone else that worked there, but it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. When you walk in, you are greeted immediately by a lovely person to take your name, take your coat, whatever you need. They escort you to your table in a room that is elegant, modern and vibrant. Our waiter, Matt D, was superb. He knew the menu, he gave us his complete and undivided attention, and gave us recommendations. The food was prepared with the kind of care only a trained chef could serve. The chef was John Botti and he was nice enough to come out to introduce himself to us. My husband ordered the NY strip steak, that looked like a Filet Mignon on steroids. It was cooked to perfection, and he savored every bite. I had the fresh caught salmon with quinoa, which was divine, and more than I could possibly eat at one sitting, My husband also ordered the flatbread with proscuitto/fig jam and cheese and the farmer's salad. I don't know how he managed it all, but he still had room for dessert and ordered the red velvet Creme Brulee. It looked so gorgeous, I would not have wanted to touch it and ruin the presentation. But my husband enjoyed every succulent mouthful. This place is nicer than any 5 star restaurant I've ever eaten in Manhattan. The ambience, the courteous staff, down to the elegant lamps on the table make eating here a true dining experience. They host weddings! They are expanding to make a spa and and outdoor seating area for warm weather with louvered panels in case it rains. The grounds are magnificent; lovely to view during daylight hours, but pure magic at night. By far the most romantic restaurant I've ever been to and in my 60 years, I've been to MANY. I give this establishment my unequivocal endorsement, even though I hope it doesn't mean I will have trouble getting a table in the future! This is just WOW. If you're a man, take your wife/girlfriend/intended. If you're a woman, you will feel pampered and special. It really is a unique experience and one that you won't forget. Have a girls' night out! For the guys, go to the bar for a guys' night out. Just GO! Thank you, Matt D., for excellent service and attention. Thank you to Chef John for taking the time to speak to us. I look forward to going back again and again and again!!!!! (Edit - I read a review from a person from Milford. IGNORE that one. Not only was he rude, and ignorant, he lacked the basic ability to spell, which should tell you all you need to know. He didn't like the parking? This is the kind of person who is too lazy to walk 10 steps, so that should give you all the information about their review that you need. Sometimes you need to read between the lines. They were elitist/lazy and rude). Plain and simple.

Yelp
Been here several times and really want to love it, but it just disappoints every time. The ambiance is fantastic, that's why two stars, but the food is terrible. The chef is phoning it in. Food is not fresh. Had beef stroganoff in the restaurant, was watery like soup. Hot in center only - means it was microwaved. When I raised the issue, the chef said the sauce 'broke'. If that were true (it wasn't) why would you send that out to a customer? Onion soup bland as dishwater. My husbands steak was over cooked. You can't claim to be a steakhouse if you can't cook a steak! Desserts and drinks are ok. The prices are way too high to not deliver on quality. Went to a concert event there on another night and had no chef available. Tons of people coming in for food - no chef! They offered a few appetizers and dessert. I'm sure they lost a lot of money/opportunity that night. We will only go in for drinks at the bar at this point, to enjoy the ambiance, but the restaurant is a 'no go'. It's got so much potential but they need to get rid of their Chef if they are serious about building this business/brand. Know your customers - they are expecting better.

Spike ..

Yelp
The owner was not very approachable. Didn't end up going in to book due to poor manners.

Yelp
My husband and I spent last weekend at The Eldred Preserve celebrating his 60th birthday along with 10 of our closest friends. We had an incredible time. The Resort does not disappoint. Their combination with The Brandstan Boutique Hotel and The Old Homestead Restaurant creates an unmatched stay in the area. They have risen the bar and are exceeding the bar! Only open since spring of 2021 and only getting better day by day. I'm looking forward to the new indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub and hopefully Spa I heard about during my visit. If anyone is listening, I enjoy nothing more than being able to visit a spa and being able to spend my day(s) in a warm cozy robe throughout a luxurious resort. There is nothing more unique and relaxing than wearing a robe from breakfast through spa treatments, and through lunch and/or cocktails in a 5 star setting. I've only visited 2 spas with such amenities. They could use some competition!!! Thank you Scott and Eddie for making my husbands birthday a success. Special shout out to Irvin and Andrea too for making our stay so special. Hope to see you all again soon! Lisa L. New York
