The Elephant Stables

Fantastic small hotel with excellent service and the best food of our stay so far. Felt like it was our own “colonial bungalow” for our stay. The staff here could not be more helpful and smiling. Incredible spread of rice and curry - menu changes every night and delicious a la carte options too, Stunning location above Kandy and so peaceful and relaxing as only 7 rooms. Laundry was sent out and only charged at local prices too - a lovely bonus! Highly recommend and would definitely come back here!!

We enjoyed our stay at Elephant Stables. It sits high on a hill above the hustle and bustle of Kandy. We had all of our meals outdoors with a nice view of the city. We would like to particularly thank the chef Tyronne for his excellent meals. We tried the daily specials each day which were wonderful.

Amazing 3-day stay in 6-room hotel set in peaceful location 3 km from city centre. Beautiful colonial style rooms, helpful staff and incredible breakfasts and dinners. Without a doubt the best food experience of our 21 day tour. A welcome change from the larger hotels and definitely worth the additional cost. ||We cannot recommend highly enough!

We had a fabulous stay at the elephant stables, the location was excellent and allowed us to see so much of the city. The hotel is a welcoming, beautiful colonial building which was decorated superbly. Everywhere was immaculately clean. |The food was exceptional and the chefs couldn’t have been more accommodating. |The staff were extremely helpful and kind meaning our staff was relaxing and enjoyable.

A wonderful place, amazing staff and beautiful view. Unfortunately we only stayed one night but it was absolute lovely. We traveled with our two girls, aged 8 and 5, and the family room with a bunk-bed was excellent. The food was also amazing, one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Thank you very much

This is a gem of a hotel. An intimate, peaceful escape, high up above the hustle and bustle of Kandy. Our rooms had stunning views and we were hosted beautifully by the team. I loved the juxtaposition between old colonial grandeur and the stylish modern design elements. Try an evening swim in the infinity pool looking across to the giant Buddha overlooking Kandy. And don’t miss the beautifully prepared Sri Lankan rice and curry feast!

We absolutely adored our couple of days at this hotel as part of our honeymoon. It’s a stunning location, with infinity pool, beautiful outdoor dining, comfortable/luxurious accommodation and friendly, helpful staff. We found a bottle of wine in our room to congratulate us on our honeymoon, which was lovely. We were asked to select our meal choices so that fresh ingredients could be sourced that day for our meals. Nothing was too much trouble for the team here, and we definitely want to go back!

This hotel is indeed a hidden paradise, having a relaxing atmosphere with a serene pool area and secure environment. The most beautiful view I can remember from the pool area. This hotel felt like a natural home away from home. The staff was friendly and consistently made sure we were comfortable, food was absolutely delicious. My stay was perfekt🙏🫶🇸🇪
