The Elm Pub in Abbots Ripton is fast becoming our favourite place to eat and drink, and with every visit it continues to impress. It strikes an increasingly rare balance between quality food, attentive service, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to return rather than treat it as a one-off occasion.
From the moment you arrive, the setting feels considered and comfortable, whether you are stopping in for a casual drink or settling down for a full meal. The food is consistently well executed, with clearly fresh ingredients and dishes that are thoughtfully prepared rather than overcomplicated. Portions are generous without sacrificing presentation, and there is a clear sense that the kitchen takes pride in what it sends out.
Service is another strong point. Staff are friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive without being intrusive. Orders are handled efficiently, and the overall experience feels calm and well managed, even when the venue is busy. This level of service stands out, particularly at a time when standards elsewhere seem to be slipping.
With the recent decline in service quality at The Bridge in Huntingdon, The Elm Pub is well positioned to take its place as a leading destination in the area. If it continues on its current trajectory, it would not be surprising to see it become the number one place to visit in Huntingdon and the surrounding villages.
Overall, The Elm Pub offers reliability, quality, and warmth in equal measure. It is a venue that feels confident in what it does, and one we are increasingly happy to recommend and return to.
