The Elphinstone Hotel

Another excellent stay, great wee hotel and loved the refurb, very stylish. We had a refurbished room and loved everything about it. Bed super comfy, great shower and excellent breakfast. After a hike was so lovely to sit in sunny beer garden...we'll definitely be back as we love Biggar and beautiful area.

What a super hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful from the minute we arrived. The public area was very comfortable and the bedroom even more so. It was clean and pleasantly appointed. The en suite was very up to date, bright and roomy.|The meals, both evening meal and breakfast were superb; giving an extensive choice of freshly prepared local produce.|It was our first visit but it certainly will not be our last.|Thank you Michael and all the staff.

This is a review for the Elph bar. We stopped for a quick drink. The beer and cider were ice cold and the lady who served us was very friendly. Sure is a great place to have a drink! Oh, and it has a nice rooftop beer garden.

After a wee run to Peebles we were going to stop for a chippy at Biggar on way home but decided to try here instead and fortunately they were able to give us a table without a booking. We chose from the 3 course set menu, great value at under £24, and had a wonderful meal with good size portions. The main course of Sunday Roast Beef was delicious as were our starters and dessert. The staff provided an excellent service and were really friendly. A party of 3 came in after us and were initially turned away as there were no tables available but after a bit of consultation they reckoned they could juggle arrangements and a member of staff then ran out and down the street whilst it was raining heavily to invite them back in. Will definitely be back here for a meal soon and more often 😋

The food has always been good here over the years but our most recent visit exceeded our expectations! The staff were so helpful and kind and I’ve never been served food so fast in my life, yet it still be delicious, fresh and presentable. Their new renovation really is beautiful with a bright new take on a traditional country inn. Can’t wait to return!

Absolutely fantastic!!!!|We stayed at the Elphinstone for 1 night during a Lands End to John o Groats cycle ride for Charity. We arrived late and the Chef had already left for the evening. The Bar staff jumped to our rescue and 30 minutes later we all eating a superb steak pie and chips. |The pub, service and rooms were all fantastic.|I would highly recommend visiting or staying at the Elphinstone if you are in the Biggar area.

Stayed at the hotel as we were nearby for a wedding. Lovely room, comfy and clean. Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast great the next morning And managed to make last orders on our return from the wedding. Good banter and accommodating

Had a small lunch here chips with cheese and add a topping had the fiajita topping with loads of chicken and deep fried chicken chilli con carne big portion both very tasty. Quite but good value and friendly staff. Give it a try.
