Emin Pasha is conveniently located in Nakasero, has a great ambiance and beautiful gardens. We went for a staycation to celebrate a birthday. Our stay was for 1 night. ||The experience overall was disappointing. We arrived on time for the 2pm check in but our room was not ready, apparently they had a big party and many guests the day before. After a 30min wait at reception we decided to have lunch while our room was being prepared. As vegetarians we had very limited options, out of the 3 items we ordered 1 was not there. The sparkling rose that we ordered was also not there again because of the large party the day before. The salads we ordered were unremarkable and it was not clear what the accompaniments were, bean falafel with?, fried aubergine with? was it hummus? Shortly before we had finished our meal at about 4pm we were informed that our room was ready. The rose arrived when we had finished our meal even though we didn't order it. The payment process was painful, the POS machine did not have paper to print the receipt, I was debited twice and it took another 30min to have a supervisor confirm to us how we were going to get refunded - no instant reversal in this case, it would have to be on Monday and it was on me to follow up!||We had paid for a room with garden and pool view but we only got a garden view. The linen was tired and we did not get a room key because the software to activate keys was not working. I have never been to a hotel and not got a key.||Apart from the gentleman who took us to our room the service from the rest of the staff including front desk manager and restaurant staff was substandard.||A very disappointing staycation, we should have just stayed at home.
