"The Empanada Kitchen, Queenstown by makebardo. This is a great and healthy takeaway snack. Located by a nice open area of grass by the wharf, plenty of area to sit and watch the lake as you eat a yummy pastry, full of flavour. Do not miss out on trying the selection of sauces originally made by them. It is important to know that the flavours change each day!"

Several different varieties available. Our favourite is the Lamb. Great value. If we could take them back to Australia we would.

Perfect for a quick bite while strolling around the city, easy to miss as pretty small lone standing stall. My mom who is a vegetarian loved it. Owner was passionate about offering a variety of sauces, girl at the counter was friendly. Definitely worth trying.

Yelp
We'd passed The Empanada Kitchen the day before and vowed to try one of their empanadas before we left Queenstown. It's a tiny little storefront that's nestled in between the public toilets on Beach Street. You can't miss it. We dropped by on a Friday afternoon (around 2:00pm). The little storefront is super cute along with it's merchandise (hats, t-shirt, bag and sauces/oils). The lady working was very friendly and exuberant. Menu is short and sweet. Four different types of empanadas. It seems like one changes daily (beef blue & stout wasn't there the following day). - Mince 3 cheeses ($6.00 NZD) - mince angus beef, roasted peppers, brie, parmesan and mozzarella. The minced beef was well seasoned, flavourful and maintained a good texture. The dough has an excellent crispy bite. Not sure how but they even manage to stencil Empanada Kitchen on the fold. Perfect little snack while you walk around the wharf or Queenstown's CBD. Great quality.

Yelp
Tasty. Quick. Warm. Perfect food for strolling the area or sitting on the grass. 6nz. Good deal and convenient. The mince pie is the best seller and I can see why. Recommended.

Yelp
Although its in an odd location (between the two public bathrooms) their little stale is actually in a convenient place as there is plenty of foot traffic. We weren't very hungry but wanted to try the empanadas as they looked well crafted with interesting fillings. The two we bought tasted just as good as they looked. Was impressed with the pastry flakiness and filling flavors. If we had been more hungry we would have went back for seconds, or possibly even thirds.

Yelp
Nice little stall selling some tasty fresh empanadas- perfect to grab and eat as you walk along the water. The guy behind the counter was being super helpful and enthusiastic. Offered sauce recommendations for each type we ordered. I had the lamb which was super tasty. I didn't use the sauce he recommended as my kid decided to run away so I had to dart and leave the hubs to pay. My husband had the veggie one with hot oil type sauce that he loved. The kiddo had the same minus the oil and gobbled it up. We'd definitely go back to try other types if we have more time at Queenstown.
