The Emporium

I had no idea that this brasserie also sold real ale. Luckily Casta had done his research. I had Bowland brewery Hen Harrier. One of three real ales from said brewery. A rather splendid interior over several floors. Very good food menu.

Fantastic and huge building set over three floors let down a little by service and food. With some care and attention to the menu and the service this place could be really good. Three of us had lunch and we all thought it was fine but just fine. Took 4 attempts to get some tap water from staff some of who were excellent and others who were poor. Would have to improve to eat here again.

This is a very nice place to come and eat have a chat with friends, or take someone special out, the interior is different this gives it the 5* atmosphere in here. The food was okay nothing to complain about but not 5* we really enjoyed our meal here, and will come back again. The service wasn’t so good as we had expected long wait for to take our order for our desserts, in the end we actually gave up and paid and left a shame really, this was the only thing that was wrong. Overall it’s a nice place to come and get some things to eat.

A great looking interior with loads of old decor and interesting items. The menu looks interesting, but the prices are a bit steep for what you get. We had 2 coffees which were very nice. 1 breakfast sandwich which was ok for £8.95 1 slow cooked brisket sandwich with onions which was slimy textured and inedible meat? This all came to £30.20 The staff were very polite and helpful and service was quick. We will not be hurrying back for more.

Wow what a shambles. A great fall this place has had. Once upon a time this was the place to go. Last few times I’ve been have been dreadful. Went this week, staff are absolutely miserable, no greeting, no urgency to seat you or take care of you, just left to own devices. Food took 1 hr 15 mins! And when it arrived the chicken goujons and rest of dishes were cold. No ask for top up of drink or how food was nothing, wow. Also the little takeaway tubs of sauce are a huge off put, when your meals nearing to £100 you don’t expect little condiments in plastic tubs. Worse restaurant in Clitheroe. Owner of emporium doesn’t care clearly staff turn overs through roof and it really shows. Avoid.

Just had a fantastic meal here. Thank you to the staff for an enjoyable evening. Very good portions, even the little choice was large.

Nice, spacious, popular central restaurant of Clitheroe. Offers starters, pizzas amongst other local dishes. Quite busy this time of year hence having to wait quite a while for food and subsequent drinks ordered. All in all the pizzas were good, a little burnt along the edges unfortunately but generally pretty tasty. The Americano had some good spice!

A busy but welcoming atmosphere with cake on the bar and three floors of seating for adults or families and children's birthday groups. The food variety was extensive and the staff were kept busy talking out orders. Simple side dishes like chips were sufficient and very hot. The bread served with the soup was very tasty. After a lunch for four and my grandson the bill was a pleasant surprise too.

Excellent food, very good service with the food delivered quicker than expected given how busy the restaurant was and very friendly staff members. I'll happily go back there regularly, and would highly recommend it.

The Emporium was recommended by a friend which I'm grateful for as we might not have found it otherwise. It's a multi-level brasserie and bar with a cool and unusual appearance. Our starters were massive so go easy here if you're not starving - my gnocchi with nduja was great - a generous amount of sausage and some delicious broccoli to balance the dish which almost stole the show. Some lovely rocket paired with my main - chicken milanese again nearly stole the show. The milanese was a tad burnt underneath but overall was very nice. Bf was impressed by his large portion of properly layered nachos to start and his pizza was good too. Service was pretty slow and we had to go down to the bar to get our bill paid in the end, but we were still out in less than two hours and considering how busy they were the food didn't take that long.

The emporium has great service a great stylish warm atmosphere, the food is amazing. I personally recommend the pizzas as they are HUGE and delicious. The designs and the candlelit tables make you feel like you have stepped into an old Italian restaurant. It's a great night out and I highly recommend it.

extravagant and eclectic atmosphere to stop for a coffee, lunch or even the starting point for your night out in the 'Roe. Great food and drink. A bit pricey, but worth it. Treat yourself!

Food ok, service terrible. Stood by door waiting for acknowledgment ignored by 3 staff walking past. Asked waitress where men's toilet was, she said she didn't know as she was new, if you were managing any restaurant surely you would brief staff at least where toilets were! Fondue was good although a bit pricey, (a £2 camembert put in oven for 5 mins served with salad and bread. Pizza big but nothing special. Wife's Peroni glass had to be sent back as dirty. Went here as most of Clitheroe shut on Sundays similar to 100 years ago but with slightly less Black Death. It's not a terrible place but I would not rush back here in a hurry.

Great atmosphere. , can be a little on the expensive side to eat there however food really good, 5 star' s given if prices slightly more reasonable. Very good

Wouldn't bother going there for a coffe prefer the Exchange around the corner, but had a good lunch spectacular sandwich at a reasonable price. Constructive criticism needs a real ale or two on sale, creamy John Smiths is rubbish. In the same group as the Royal in Kirby Lonsdale but on the whoel a better menu. Will visit again.

Great decor, nice food

The Emporium is a wine bar/coffee shop/brasserie over 3 floors, and is lovely. The decor is fantastic (check out the lighting) and the food and service great. The furniture/accessories are provided by the shop underneath on the ground floor, so you can actually order any of the furniture you see upstairs. Quite a unique idea, and it allows you to 'try before you buy'!
