This is a very nice place to come and eat have a chat with friends, or take someone special out, the interior is different this gives it the 5* atmosphere in here. The food was okay nothing to complain about but not 5* we really enjoyed our meal here, and will come back again. The service wasn’t so good as we had expected long wait for to take our order for our desserts, in the end we actually gave up and paid and left a shame really, this was the only thing that was wrong. Overall it’s a nice place to come and get some things to eat.

Nice, spacious, popular central restaurant of Clitheroe. Offers starters, pizzas amongst other local dishes. Quite busy this time of year hence having to wait quite a while for food and subsequent drinks ordered. All in all the pizzas were good, a little burnt along the edges unfortunately but generally pretty tasty. The Americano had some good spice!

The place is beautiful, the food is mediocre, the staff are terrible. Waited ages to be served by miserable staff, food was cold and the order was mixed up. The manager was more interested in moving her car so not to get a ticket than what was happening in the restaurant...it is a shame as this place could be a real treat, however, the staff need to be taught that when in a customer facing role be pleasant and warm towards your customers and not like we have just tread dog muck through the door. 40 mins wait for 2 cold pizzas and fries is not acceptable as well as the 25 min wait for a drink, felt like we were interrupting their social life

We had the winter escape deal for this stay and we honestly were made to feel like that meant we were not cared about. We were speaking to a lovely gentleman at the till near the bar who changed the bottle of wine to two free drinks each as I’m pregnant and couldn’t drink wine. But we were seated behind two pillars on the smallest table right near the stairs and the chairs where the only ones without back support like they’d last minute shoved this table there. We were squished in as the table for two next to us were far too close. We ordered our starters and two pasta dishes for mains and asked for garlic bread extra with the mains. We then got served our starters and was told the garlic bread was coming out, it came out and my partner said we wanted it with the mains and the waitress rudely said “oh sorry” and walked off. The garlic bread was stone cold by the time the mains come out (the pasta was soggy as well I didn’t eat it). I ordered a virgin pornstar martini and the waitress came and stared at our three empty glasses and tried to find somewhere on the tiny table to place my drink I had to move my starter and napkins to the point they were hanging off and she just walked off past the bar but left the three empty glasses and plates. I got to the point I took the empties and left them on the bar myself. My boyfriend had his jacket over his chair that was knocked off TWICE by passing staff and not one apology. I’ve never been ANYWHERE with such bad service. The staff are rude. When we went to pay for our extras we said we were leaving without the dessert that was part of the package and the waitress just looked at us so rudely. So upsetting this was a 30th birthday gift and we saved it for valentines time on purpose and the entire evening was ruined. Never again and I would never recommend a place like this. Picture for the only reference I had of the terrible seating

Went on a recommendation. Only table available was by the bar which was fine with us. Menus placed on the table and told someone would come and take our drink order. We watched other customers come in and have there drink order taken and served. We waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken. Our drinks arrived at the same time as our starter. We had seen another customers drink order at the bar for the whole time we had been sat down only for one of them to be picked up and used for ourselves. We watched other customers returning drinks and being poured away. The service seems chaotic and stressful and other customers complaining at the service. Our food arrived - no 'do you need any sauces or anything', 'can I get you another drink'. Eventually went to the bar and asked for another two drinks - these never came but appeared on our bill. Clearly a very busy place and a lot of customers turned away at the door but from our seating position it was very disorganised and no level of service and we weren't the only ones. Food was well presented and was OK but massive portions, despite choosing the small portions. We would have had a pudding but couldn't be bothered waiting any longer. Got up to go and pay - no question about whether we had enjoyed our food or anything. Maybe it was just a bad day and they were short staffed but won't be making the effort again. The venue is excellent but for the price of food I would expect a service to match, which just wasn't there.

I didn't eat, just stopped in for a warm and a coffee. Always popular venue, buzzing but friendly atmosphere. Great staff, just be mindful they're running around non stop at busy periods !

Not sure what has happened to this place recently but the service has completely dropped off. Not the staff faults, more the management. They should either hire more staff or just not let as many customers in. 25 minutes waiting for our drinks, just for our drinks to come at the same time as our food. Items missed off our food order but included in the bill. Asked for some mayo and got the smallest amount possible, it wasn't even worth asking for some more. Food was nice though.

So yeah, really nice looking restaurant, felt top notch walking in. Greeted by very friendly staff who were quick to show us our table and take our drinks order. We had the pizza it was not great to put it mildly, under cooked and soggy the base looked raw. Tables are too close together for my liking but that's more personal preference. Overall it looks great but covering the basics of serving edible food was lacking, wouldn't return

Yelp
Excellent food, very good service with the food delivered quicker than expected given how busy the restaurant was and very friendly staff members. I'll happily go back there regularly, and would highly recommend it.

Yelp
The Emporium was recommended by a friend which I'm grateful for as we might not have found it otherwise. It's a multi-level brasserie and bar with a cool and unusual appearance. Our starters were massive so go easy here if you're not starving - my gnocchi with nduja was great - a generous amount of sausage and some delicious broccoli to balance the dish which almost stole the show. Some lovely rocket paired with my main - chicken milanese again nearly stole the show. The milanese was a tad burnt underneath but overall was very nice. Bf was impressed by his large portion of properly layered nachos to start and his pizza was good too. Service was pretty slow and we had to go down to the bar to get our bill paid in the end, but we were still out in less than two hours and considering how busy they were the food didn't take that long.

Yelp
The emporium has great service a great stylish warm atmosphere, the food is amazing. I personally recommend the pizzas as they are HUGE and delicious. The designs and the candlelit tables make you feel like you have stepped into an old Italian restaurant. It's a great night out and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
extravagant and eclectic atmosphere to stop for a coffee, lunch or even the starting point for your night out in the 'Roe. Great food and drink. A bit pricey, but worth it. Treat yourself!

Yelp
Food ok, service terrible. Stood by door waiting for acknowledgment ignored by 3 staff walking past. Asked waitress where men's toilet was, she said she didn't know as she was new, if you were managing any restaurant surely you would brief staff at least where toilets were! Fondue was good although a bit pricey, (a £2 camembert put in oven for 5 mins served with salad and bread. Pizza big but nothing special. Wife's Peroni glass had to be sent back as dirty. Went here as most of Clitheroe shut on Sundays similar to 100 years ago but with slightly less Black Death. It's not a terrible place but I would not rush back here in a hurry.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. , can be a little on the expensive side to eat there however food really good, 5 star' s given if prices slightly more reasonable. Very good

Yelp
Wouldn't bother going there for a coffe prefer the Exchange around the corner, but had a good lunch spectacular sandwich at a reasonable price. Constructive criticism needs a real ale or two on sale, creamy John Smiths is rubbish. In the same group as the Royal in Kirby Lonsdale but on the whoel a better menu. Will visit again.

Yelp
Great decor, nice food

Qype User (alison…)

Yelp
The Emporium is a wine bar/coffee shop/brasserie over 3 floors, and is lovely. The decor is fantastic (check out the lighting) and the food and service great. The furniture/accessories are provided by the shop underneath on the ground floor, so you can actually order any of the furniture you see upstairs. Quite a unique idea, and it allows you to 'try before you buy'!
