Yelp
The menu, prices and food says upscale dining (Hooks, Baxters). All our food was very good. Our service was good but we were there early and it wasn't busy yet.
But what is this place? It wants to be a sports bar, a concert venue, a nice outdoor dining venue and some sort of right wing wet dream man cave. Football helmets, dead animals, a motorcycle all shoved together. A huge flag/constitution/eagle surrounded by framed pictures of bullets. Military action and hardware pics. Sports pics. And of course, a big pic of Donald. It's all in one big room and it's a visual mess.
My wife really liked the sweet potato fries she had. On the way out, we passed by the gift shop, my wife looked in the window and saw a book prominently displayed. She said I bet that is the owner. I looked in and then it ALL made sense. The name, the setup with the hotel, the sweet potato fries we used to love, the huge amount of money being spent on the project. Merlyn Vandervort, the man behind the Toad, and the guy that left a lot of angry vendors, contractors and others in his wake.
Maybe his Encore will work out. The food was very good. Hopefully this time someone else is in charge of the money and paying the bills.
We had: almond crusted grouper, French dip w/ sweet potato fries, prime rib, pasta, bread pudding and gooey cake. All the food was really good. If you can stomach the crazy decor.
