The English Bookshop

Took the train for 2 hours with my book-loving daughter to get here, and it was totally worth it! What a lovely little shop with everything you could ask for. Good selection of books, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. We will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend a visit to any book lover! 📖📚❤️

Absolutely lovely store. The Agatha Christie novels had some beautiful covers that I'd never seen anywhere else before. The sci-fi section was also very quaint. The store had chairs that patrons could relax in as well. Very nice store

Always been a huge fan of the English Book Shop! They have a huge variety of books, all very well-organized and thoughtfully chosen. I loved finding works by Palestinian authors and other non-white writers, which you don’t often see in most stores. The selection shows a great mix of voices and cultures, including amazing decolonial works. I almost ALWAYS leave with unique books recommended by the lovely staff. This has truly become my go-to place for books in Stockholm!!!!!!!

Brilliant bookshop that showcases the usually-hidden literature about decolonization and social justice issues. My number one spot for all my social and political books, especially about Palestine most recently. Staff and customers create a safe and comfortable spot for book lovers. Open mic nights by Ryan and Hedde are especially friendly (and give me a great excuse to visit the bookshop once a month!) A unique experience in Stockholm.

Had a lovely experience here whilst in Stockholm. Very well stocked and I saw most of the bestsellers you'd find in London and other books such as romantasy/tiktol books. And the classics ofc! The non fiction section was incredibly organised and very topical. Thanks

Very nice, will come again later on they have several rooms and special book shelfs like the books with fancy cover and Harry Potter collections as well. Cozy place and suroundings as well ❤️

Lovely bookshop with very helpful staff. They helped me out multiple times giving personal recommendations. I also love their recommendation book case. It’s a small store but fully stocked with a lot of different genres. And don’t miss the hidden YA area!

This bookshop is the exact opposite of those huge bookstores you find in the centre of cities or in shopping malls. None of those stores are bad, if course, but this English Bookshop has a clear vibe of coziness and staff that actually have time to talk to you. If you are a book lover, check this out if you find yourself in Stockholm one day!

The best bookshop in Stockholm! They've got all kinds of books including the penguin classics. I wanted to by every single book. Could stay there forever and will come back very soon.

I love love love this place. Nestled away in a lovely little section of Old Town, this tiny little jewel was a breath of fresh air. After months of Russia books stores, which seem to only carry Classics, trashy romance novels and mysteries, being able to pick up a copy of "To Kill a Mockingbird" for a friend who has never read it was a fun moment of normalcy. The owner is fantastically Swedish, nice, helpful, yet perfectly taciturn, he encourages you to browse quietly, answering questions when asked, but allowing the wonderfulness to speak for itself. I miss it already.

Perfect shop. It will have just the book you need, whether you need a good airplane read, books about Sweden in English, or advice - the owner is wonderful. He found the novel I could only describe, not name.
