23 Best Bars in Rome

"This is a beer hall that perfectly toes the line between cool and grungy. The program is unique craft beers from small breweries and there’s always an interesting lineup. They're wide-ranging when it comes to style and flavor profile; check the blackboard for details, or ask for a rec—the staff are real gems. They'll happily give you tastings if you don’t know what to order. When it comes to eats, burgers are their thing. Try one of the mad-scientist-style specials, like the sky-high Double Factory Burger with crispy speck, two beef patties, tomato, mushrooms, eggplant, and melty provolone cheese." - Maresa Manara

The Factory

"First impression?Perfectly toes the line between cool and grungy, with bare brick walls and industrial furniture lightened by cute wooden tables and a chalkboard on which the beers of the day are cheerfully spelled out. Playful type, shambling angles, and a baby-blue couch that matches the baby-blue Vespa in the entryway make it all feel cozy and fun. Cool. So who’s there?Good-looking mid-thirties craft beer aficionados. Lots of beards, flannel shirts, and dark-rimmed glasses. How are the drinks? The program here is unique craft beers from small breweries; there’s always an interesting lineup. They're wide-ranging when it comes to style and flavor profile—check the blackboard for details, or ask for a rec. Worth ordering something to eat, too?You can get something other than a burger at The Factory—there’s a respectable selection of fried stuff like potato and speck dumplings or chicken in barbecue sauce, and good-enough antipasto platters and bruschette. But why play around? Burgers are their thing. Try one of the mad-scientist-style specials, like the sky-high Double Factory Burger with crispy speck, two beef patties, tomato, mushrooms, eggplant, and melty provolone cheese; or, if that's too much, go for something less intimidating, like the truffle cheeseburger with fries. The pulled pork burger with housemade coleslaw is also excellent. Did the staff do you right? The staff are real gems. They love their craft beer. They'll happily give you tastings if you don’t know what to order. Wrap it up: what are we coming here for?A beer hall that turns the charm—and the obsessiveness—up a notch or two." - Maresa Manara

I am a bit of a burger connaisseure - I have travelled the world and often use the opportunity to try different interpretations of burgers. The Cow Burger at the Factory probably ranks in the top 5 ever. I usually prefer a simple cheeseburger, but the creations at this joint are creative, without over the top loaded up with too much stuff. The Cow burger for example had bits of pistachio and burrata which was an unexpectedly nice combination of two of my favorite foods. The meat was generous, still slightly pink, with a bit of char without tasting overly beefy. I also happen to be a bit of a beer drinker, and the selection of Italian craft beer, on tap and in cans/bottles is plentiful. Maybe a bit on the pricey side at ~7.50 Euro per pint, but the IPA I tried was delicious. The staff was nice and attentive and the ambiance is a bit industrial with indoor and outdoor seating - there was no loud music blasting so all in all it was a joy to eat and be here. Absolutely would recommend.

Being from the USA (the Midwest even more specifically) I've had more than my fair share of good burgers. With that being said, this is hands down the burger joint I have ever eaten in! Unique types of burgers, ones that put other places to shame! If you want a place that is off the "beaten tourist path", and want a huge helping of burger and fries (which are unique in and of themselves), THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!

Maybe the best draft Pilsner I've ever had. I ate the Double Factory Burger and I was a little bit disappointed, maybe my expectations were too high. But the meat wasn't very tasty and the burger overall was dry.

Incredibly friendly atmosphere, even for a foreign traveler! The selection of Italian craft beers was reminiscent of the many small breweries encountered in the U.S. I didn't have much of an appetite but the food options were enticing as well. Overall enjoyable, I felt like a local and would definitely come back

I had the peracottaro burger which was quite good, sheep cheese, fried pear and meat. Best part of the dinner was the fries, really amazing. Plus it is cheap, burgers come with fries at 10 euros

100/10, everyone treated us like family, we where 2 mexicans knowing nothing about Rome and we felt like home there, i black-outed on the bar counter and almost puke myself and my friend got lost and retourned one hour later with a bunch of strangers to our airbnb. My wallet and money was intact but not my dignity so it deserves a 100 over 10.
