On the Grid : Falafel Man

"If there is a favourite of all of the traders at the Prahran Market it would have to be the Falafel Man. He has been plating up the best falafels outside of the middle-east for over 18 years. Home-made hummus, with a rotating selection of salads and freshly fried falafel balls make them impossible to resist. Go for the falafel lunch plate, you will regret anything less." - Self-Titled

The falafel man yes for sure, the best falafel so far I ate in Melbourne. Vegan friendly, the owner is nice and the price is very reasonable. I will comeback for more! We love it! Give it a try.

Big call but this is the best falafel in Melbourne. Crunchy exterior, moist inside, packed with flavour. There's so much sad dry falafel in the world so when you find a good one you embrace with open arms. I fluctuate between getting a plate or a pita pocket depending on how I feel. Both are amazing options. I love the free samples of their pita chips- they are so addictive. There's always a line because people know this is good. It's one of the few places in Melbourne I'm willing to wait in line for. You haven't tried falafel until you've been to the felafel man.

First time trying falafel so I wasn't sure what to expect but it was damn delicious. Crunchy outside, moist and soft inside. If I am correct, falafel's made mostly out of chickpeas and beans. So I didn't expect them to be super tasty but they were surprisingly hearty and flavourful. It costed less than $10 for everything so it was a ridiculously good deal. The title, the Best Falafel in Melbourne, couldn't be more apt with these guys. Definitely worth trying!

Delicious falafels made fresh right in front of you! Highly recommend checking out this little stall (found at back of Prahran Market near The Essential Ingredient). Salad selection gets a bit bare later in the day so the earlier you get there the better. Reasonable prices and very filling! And completely vegan! Note: it's cash only, but there is an ATM right near the stall. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.

$5 doesn’t get you much anymore but it does at The Falafel Man. The quick snack with 2 balls 2 salads dip and chilli hits the spot. Falafels are a generous size, crispy outer, fluffy inner and full of flavour, the salads crunchy and chilli gives it some heat, $5 perfection in a cup.

I arrived at Prahran market ravenous and stopped at Falafel Man for a snack after hearing good things. The prices are great and the food is tasty. It’s not the best falafel in Melbourne, but it made a great meal when paired with pita, tahini, complimentary unlimited pita crisps and two salads for just $8.50. Great cheap bite if you’re at the market.

Ordered a snack size portion. Honest opinion, it’s very delicious. The salads are great, the falafel balls are moist inside, the sauces and chilli sauce combination is great. However one disappointing thing is the falafel balls are very salty today. If it’s less salty it would surely be the best falafel I ever have. Hope they will be less salty at my next purchase

Delicious falafels and salad, had the lunch bowl which included 4 falafel, hummus, 2 salads and pita. Filling and fresh, only $8.5. Quick service and fresh food. Falafel are heavier type, more crispy and oily from being fried. Very moist inside.
