The Farm Cafe blew me out of the water. It is a little pricey (average $20 entree) but worth every dollar. I ordered the pecan stuffed ravioli and literally cleaned my plate the sauce was so good. The house wine was excellent for the price and Sunken Chocolate Souffle was awesome! As The Farm appears to be a classy establishment, I expected the staff to be uptight and snooty. I couldn't have been more wrong. The staff was laid back and casual and the service was on the ball (granted it was a slower Tuesday night). I am excited to go back and check out the popular cocktails and Happy Hour menu. Farm would definitely be a good date spot too.

The waiter forgot to put in our appetizer hour, but was very apologetic and gave us free dessert. The food was amazing. I had the tamale, but I tasted the ravioli and that was delicious too. Drink was good. Got the carbonated margarita. Man was that strong -- tasted awesome too!

Disappointing from start to finish. My husband and I are selective about where we eat out in general, but especially for a special occasion evening and babysitter night. We carefully chose the Farm Cafe for our wedding anniversary dinner based on a past positive experience and the wide selection of vegetarian plates (I am vegetarian, my husband is not). Our experience was not good in any way on the evening we ate here. When we arrived for our reservation, 5 minutes early, there was no host at the door. There were other parties just standing around wondering what was going on. We took a seat and relaxed, but it was at least another 3 minutes before we were even acknowledged, and a good 10-15 later before we were actually seated, despite a reservation and the place not being busy yet (it was 6:30!). The outdoor tables are very lovely. Our server had that special Portland attitude of apathy and annoyance at being asked to serve us that we sometimes encounter at more high end hipster restaurants, and while he wasn't rude to us, he wasn't friendly. We ordered an appetizer to split, a beet salad to split, 2 entrees, and a bottle of wine. We had our wine delivered, we had the appetizer, then about 30 minutes later, our entrees showed up. Mine was too salty and cold (ravioli). Our server came back around a while later to see how things were, and I asked about the salad, and he said with complete nonchalance, "Oh, we're out of that. How's the food?" I told him it was a bit too salty, and said I was surprised they were out of something and didn't bother to ask if we wanted to change our order, or send us a replacement with an explanation. I had also noticed other tables were served bread as they waited, so I asked for some. He said "I'll let the chef know" and left. I'm sure he didn't let anyone know. We did get some bread, after we were done eating our cold food. We really regretted our choice of The Farm Cafe for our special evening out and we likely won't be giving them another chance.

Great gem on the east side. Really fresh, lovely farm to table dining that's a bit of a secret and that's just fine with me. Wonderful vegetarian options- a top three pick in my book for a special occasion. Their tempeh stuffed pepper recently was divine. The service here is a tad off, but they seem to know what they're doing either way :) I prefer to go in the summer and sit in the back part of the restaurant as the front half is nice but leaves something to be desired.

Old school Portland staple. Excellent quality food in a refreshingly non trendy but tasteful environment. Try the clams and fries and baked Brie. Salads are fresh and delicious. Beautiful patio in summer and cozy interior in winter. I've been going here for 6 years!

Our go-to restaurant when visitors join us. The fish is consistently spectacular, the herb-crusted tofu is unmatched comfort food. Great wine list and cocktails. Always save room for the molten chocolate souffle.

We had party of 5 for early Sunday dinner. We enjoyed vast amounts of food: appetizers, main course, dessert and great Oregon wine. Great service, great ambiance, locally-sourced food and drink. All for $45 bucks each. Well-done.

Yum. Seriously, great food. Everything tastes fresh, portions are perfect, and the atmosphere is great. I walk over sometimes when I just feel like I need something both satisfying AND healthy. I especially like sitting on their patio in the back.
