The Farm Cart

Had brunch here 2 days in a row. My husband and I both had the breakfast plate, which contains eggs any way you like them, a biscuit, a side, and house made jam. Also added sausage to the plate. I chose the cheese grits for my side and they were so creamy and delicious. The biscuit was fresh tasting and was served sliced, with the inside toasted. My latte was delicious as well. You order at the counter, and your meal is brought out when ready. It was quite busy on a game weekend. There is seating inside and outside.

My score is more of a 4.5. Brought my holiday guest who makes his Mama's Georgia Biscuits from Scratch with White Lily Flour in Cast Iron. Overall, he liked The Farm Cart's Biscuits. His only critique was the batter could use some salt. He had a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit. My attempt to order got the Cashier very confused. What I was trying to do was order the Biscuits and Gravy with an a la carte Sausage Patty. What I got was two orders. I received the Biscuit and Gravy plus a Sausage Biscuit with Homemade Jam. It's definitely a light, fluffy and well made Biscuit. So I brought one Biscuit and the Homemade Jam home. I look forward to trying the Homemade Jam. The Coffees were a mixed bag. He ordered a House Hot Coffee and a side of Milk. He added several Sweetener Packages to his beverage and Cream. It was perfect! I know he typically adds about three packets of Sweetener to a beverage. I ordered the Holiday Special Iced. It is a Spiced Orange Pomander with Espresso, Orange, Vanilla, Brown Sugar and Warm Spices. Considering i like my iced coffee sweet this beverage had too much Brown Sugar. Even I couldn't drink it as prepared. It was way too sweet. I took it home and mixed it with Plain Iced Coffee. To give you an idea how sweet the Holiday Pomander was today, I prepare a daily iced coffee at home. I make one of two iced coffees at home. One has One Sweet and Low, One Equal, and 5 Generous Squirts of Pancake Syrup in lieu of Simple Syrup. I also make 2 Cups of 3 Teaspoons of Instant Powdered Starbucks with about 4 - 6 Tablespoons of Brown Sugar and Honey. So when I say the restaurant 's coffee was too sweet...... I think they should tell customers how much Brown Sugar they plan to use in this beverage or allow customers to order the amount of Brown Sugar. Staff was great and friendly. Normally you bus your own table. However, someone came to bus our table for us as the restaurant wasnt too busy at the moment. There are three dining areas. We sat indoors which has lightly colored furnishings. There's Heated, Covered Outdoor Seating. Lastly, there are a few Uncovered Outdoor Tables. We got there around 9AM or so on a Sunday. There was no college crowd yet. The parking lot was pretty full but we did find a space in the back. I do want to give the restaurant a kudos for opting to have two gender neutral bathrooms that are handicap accessible. Although the bathrooms are a bit narrow for a Wheelchair or someone in a Wheelchair with an Assistant. The bathroom space is perfect if you are using a wheeled, handled roller.

We are fairly new in Athens and we have tried few breakfasts places. But this one is THE BEST one so far! I had the Carolina boy biscuit, it was so savory and delicious. My husband had the gravy train which it was absolutely delicious too. If you are visiting Athens this place is a must try. Staff was super friendly as well. We will definitely come back.

I went with my daughters after visiting Foxglove in lent bar across the street. It was delicious. My daughter had the matcha blueberry drink and loved it. My other daughter had sausage gravy and biscuits and donuts bits with hot chocolate and she loved it. Everything we had was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Best Burger in Athens!!! Yes, their breakfasts are fantastic and I think their buttermilk biscuits blow Mama’s Boy out of the water - and for real the coffee is so much better (it’s excellent) but don’t miss the burgers with clean meat!! Burger perfection!! I really love their tea too - unsweet but there’s sugar syrup you can put in - I love everything about this restaurant!

LOVE their lattes! I go here for my fried chicken, biscuits and gravy fix. Melt in your mouth bacon! Mason jars with ice cold water. I wish they had gentle fans outside tho, in summer time 1 fan on turbo blows you away and people sit away from it.

This was the perfect quaint, cute breakfast. Everyone was unbelievably kind, and the service was spectacular. The best vegan breakfast sandwich I've had in Georgia! The Rosemary Brown Sugar Latte is so delicious. The breakfast potatoes were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. It was the perfect breakfast for such an important occasion for us. Will definitely return to try the lunch.

The most delicious pulled pork biscuit on the market, this is the best breakfast spot in Athens hands down! Great coffee also. Great service, never a long wait even on busy mornings. Solid, southern-style choice and delicious menu

Absolutely DELIGHTFUL! Everything was so good! Service was great, atmosphere is clean and quaint. Loved their Shuga Bites! Probably the best biscuits ive ever had and their sausage gravy is great too! My daughter got Fire Bird chicken buscuit with honey siracha... The sweet heat on the perfectly cooked chicken biscuit was DIVINE! 10/10 RECOMMEND

This coffee....OMG! First cinnamon, then strong coconut, then .....so yummy! I got it iced. This isn't our first visit. We come probably every 4 months or so. Food was great! Plentiful and hot as usual! Only thing we would prefer is seasoning. A lil more seasoning in the very light and crispy batter on the chicken. A lil seasoning, not just salt, on the home fries, which are amazing! And a beef or chicken sausage or beef or turkey bacon option would be great for those that don't eat pork or soy. Lol beggars lol Staff is always helpful, informative and kind.

Delicious food, great ambiance. We sat on the patio and had breakfast on a quick weekend trip to Athens. The line was long but it moved quick. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Definitely a must visit!

This is my first time coming here and I'm already excited for my next visit! My partner and I are visiting from out of state. We ordered the junebug, the veggie, home fries, rishi hot tea, and a turmeric ginger chai latte. Everything was so flavorful and filling. My partner even admitted that he doesn't normally like biscuits, but he absolutely devoured his plate! 10/10 would recommend!

Me and the girlfriend decided to try something new. The Farmcart did not disappoint. The ambiance is super cute, clean and a unique esthetic. The service was WONDERFUL. They were attentive to every question we had and gave great suggestions. The food? Bomb!!! The biscuits are made with King Arthur flour and it can't get any better than that. They have Boylan sodas (such a rare find!) Overall this is a 10 out of 10 in my book. Will be back.

The atmosphere was very quaint with fresh made food. While the service was slow with us waiting almost an hour standing in line to order and get our food it was prepared quickly with an abundance of great options. The food is very aesthetically pleasing and not terribly over priced. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a cute breakfast that also tastes amazing with their house made biscuits. I got the gravy train and a cookie butter matcha and both were extremely tasty.

Breakfast plate is very good and fairly priced. There is a current up charge on eggs due to prices. Servers are very nice but also very loud. My only complaint is the matcha. It was a bit underwhelming and not very rich. I was hopeful that a place with a full selection cafe would have good quality matcha. But the meal was great.

The food was so good definitely a staple in the town that everyone should eat at, the coffee was also exceptional.

The breakfast sandwiches were delicious. They truly make amazing biscuits! I wasn't too fond of the lattes.

The food was good, tad be expensive but overall yummy, there were a few errors but i think the cashier was just a new employee so it was ok, and it was very busy we had to wait in line to order for about 10 minutes, so the restaurant could have a better waiting area.

Gotta say this is a gem of a place with super friendly staff, awesome service, tasty unique biscuit / sandwiches at a fair prices. Even had an opportunity to visit and chat with the grill master as we chatted about the magic of grilling. The staff was very caring. The strawberry jam was homemade and delicious on the biscuit. Cute little place. Cheese grits were tasty.

Such a fantastic menu. Really original biscuit sandwiches, and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. The blueberry jam tasted like smashed blueberries, not like artificial berry flavor with added sugar. Visits do. Sunday morning 10:15am --slammed! But tables always available because service and turnover is appropriately quick.

Cute spot! Biscuit breakfast all day. So many delicious combinations. They also have lunch which I had the chicken sandwich with "cart sauce" that made the sandwich over the top. Employees extremely helpful.

A very friendly greeting at the door was just the beginning! Very clean, very fresh ambience, casual and classy all at the same time. Outside seating is very nice with nice vines and flowers. We had two lattes, the S'mores and a caramel latte. Nice presentation and very tasty without being too sweet. My wife had the Backside biscuit and my son and I both had the Junebug biscuit. Very very delicious. My son also had the home fries, also delicious. Everything was very fresh and tasty. Clean! Even for biscuits! If you can't finish they have nice little take-home boxes already prepared near the tableware items. Just a great experience all the way around. We will definitely be back!

The food was delicious especially the pepper jelly! The biscuits are large! I first tasted their biscuits at the farmers market.

I randomly chose this restaurant because it was near a doctor's appointment my mom and I just left. It was late afternoon, so we had no problem parking or getting service. As we looked at the menu the owner's father hyped up the restaurant's menu -- as he should! And he was not wrong or overstating the goodies we were about to eat. I had The Farmer biscuit simply because it was listed as item #1. Everything sounded great and I figured I'd star at one and work my way through the menu if I really liked it. My mom got the biscuits and gravy. Even tho she said she wasn't hungry, she cleaned her plate, as did I. The biscuits and the breads are scratch made by the owner's mother daily. Everything was SO good! So good in fact that we ordered the smoked turkey sandwiches to go for later. They are served on, again, mom-made focaccia! I just finished a HUGE half of that sandwich for dinner (and I never eat sandwiches for dinner), and I am looking forward to the other half tomorrow. The owner also came out and was so warm and inviting. It felt good to support a family owned business with great food and customer service, including the servers/front staff. I'll be back again in a few weeks to try the next item(s) on the menu!

We ordered The Staple, the sugar bites, and cheese grits. All were delicious! The thick cut bacon on the Staple was perfect. The service was quick and efficient. The location is small, but we had no problems finding a place to sit at breakfast time. We will definitely return!

Super busy place and they definitely are busting their butts --good food overall. I didn't realize the biscuit sandwich I ordered didn't have chicken lol--so I was bummed because of the long wait--totally my fault-SO read the signs carefully y'all :)

The food here was incredible! The service was very quick and everyone was very kind. Everything was super clean! Definitely coming here again!!

The food was amazing. The HVAC left a bit to be desired. Had cold air blowing in us the whole time. But food and service were great.

Their food was decent enough but the pricing was outrageous. Imagine asking to substitute the cheddar in a burger with pimento cheese and not being told there was a hefty extra charge for it. Same with the matcha coffee where there was no mention of an extra charge for oat milk and honey. All these were offered as though they were part of the package. We as customers make our choices based on how much we want to spend, so all the extra charges without being asked are not ok. Not going back. Honestly you can get the same quality without all the extra charges elsewhere.

I love the indoor and outdoor seating options of this place. The outdoor seating was perfect for a summer brunch. The Farmer biscuit was so fully and the jam was really good as well.

What a perfect menu! And the coffee service is spectacular! And I was surprised to see the adult beverages. That is a nice add.

It's quaint and unpretentious...simply delicious food. The staff are terrific. The biscuits are first rate.

Everything is great. You cannot go wrong with anything you order from here. Their fried chicken is beautiful. I ordered the June bug, I think it was called, it's the vegetarian option with their housemade sausage substitute to go for my son, he reports that it was just like the real thing.

Although the food at The Farmcart is excellent, their staff is even more impressive. Farmcart is an especially busy restaurant on weekends, often serving at full capacity. Despite their substantial traffic, the staff at Farmcart ensures that everyone receives their food with unparalleled expediency and consistency of quality. Most importantly, their staff is always friendly and personable. A special thanks to Suzie, Maddie, Rachel, and Shay (please excuse any misspellings) for making Farmcart the special place it is.

The food is consistently delicious! Every staff member is smiling, courteous, and accommodating. Don't leave if the line is long! It moves quickly.

Food was great but the workers were extremely rude and impatient. They seemed like they were miserable And their attitude killed the good vibes. It was not just one worker it was a vast majority of them. I understand it's busy and stressful but being rude to customers is beyond me.

Absolutely delicious, however I'm docking two stars because this place is overpriced. In a college town it's ridiculous to sell $11 chicken biscuits. Everything is a la cart and for a 3 person breakfast, $55 is a bit insane.

Oddly enough for me the gluten-free toasted bread was off the charts. I'm not a gluten free person, but I didn't want a biscuit either. The eggs were perfect, the hash browns were exceptional....and the cheese grits were delicious! Highly recommend!!! Price was definitely more expensive than a normal place, but the quality was phenomenal! And try several dipping sauces, the avocado aioli was exceptional. The only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 star was the price.

Best biscuits I have ever had! I have tried so many of them and I can't pick a favorite they each shine in their own way. I have eaten here with my boyfriend probably about 20 times now. They have wonderful cocktails and drinks. I love that you have to eat the biscuit with a fork and knife it makes me feel fancy. Definitely worth the price. The staff is kind and will get your order out as quickly as they can! They can get very busy on weekends but if you come early you can typically get a table especially if it's just 2 people (if it's just 2 you might get lucky at peak times on weekends too). The inside is small and only has a couple of tables and is where you order. My bf and I typically sit outside were they have more seating available. They are surrounded by strip mall so not the most aesthetically pleasing location but the food is what I really go there for.

My Sweetie and I just had a fabulous breakfast...I ordered the #3 with a side of pimento cheese grits and she got the #2.. All of our food came out fast, hot and cooked perfectly. And OMG the homemade jams were to die for. I could have taken a bath in the blueberry jam...You have to try this place for delish homemade food.

The food was delicious. Because Athens doesn't have many brunch places, the wait was a little long but the food was well worth it. The biscuit wasn't too dense and had a great flavor. I will definitely be going back

The food is good but the staff has been rude more than once. Once is forgivable. More than once is a trend. Not worth it. Never again.

Very good! We love finding farm to table type restaurants all over. Good quality, organic, healthy ingredients. Their homemade fluffy biscuits were incredible!!! Light and airy. It was hard to decide what to order. It all sounded good! Their outside patio was pretty and nice to relax in. The girl at the front was very helpful w answering my questions. And she was willing to make me a half-caff oatmilk latte, which was so delicious! Patio is right at a busy street/ and parking lot. But was fine. Parking lot a little small but we found parking just fine on a Tuesday.

A very cute yummy place to eat for some breakfast and brunch! They have lunch items, but I didn't even really look at the options cause I'm here for the biscuits!! I got one buttermilk biscuit special, only available some of the time (not sure on what days exactly) and it was amazing! The biscuit was buttery, flakey, light, and big! Such a good breakfast sandwich. The sausage was full of flavor and not too fatty. The arugula was fresh and crisp, seriously so good. The food took longer to come out than I was planning. You order at the counter and get a number to bring back to your table. We waiting probably about 30 minutes before we got our food, which seems like a long time for just a breakfast sandwich. It was crazy busy but there were still a good handful of tables to pick from and seating outside. We were a party of two so keep in mind you might have a hard time finding a table if you come with a big party. There is also parking on the premises, but it might get full at peak hours! My guess is to come when it's not super busy, and that way it will be quieter and not so chaotic. Overall I would definitely recommend this place, but he prepared to spend a good chunk of time here!

Came here on a whim and it was the best breakfast and latte I've had in a while! Casual, clean, and relaxing little place.

First time visiting Farmcart. Meals are biscuit based with choices of protein. The meal was enjoyable but a bit pricey in my opinion. I would visit this establishment again. Surprised that it wasn't busy for lunch at 12:30.

On our way out of Athens, GA, we grabbed breakfast at The Farmcart. Hands down the best I've had. The Staple has a firm biscuit, bacon, cheese and strawberry jam. I say firm, which seems a weird descriptor for a biscuit, because I was able to eat this sandwich without it falling apart. The homemade strawberry jam added that extra bit of flavor. My husband had the biscuit sandwich with micro greens, it was the same. A biscuit to eat while driving. The coffee was hot and flavorful.

What's in the photo? The front door while I'm sitting backed up to the line and cashier. This place is small and very loud. Lots of loud talking. If you plan to come on the weekend, expect a line to get your order. There aren't very many tables to sit at while you wait for your food to arrive. The door in the far left corner of this picture is the entrance. If your order is to go, you wait there for the food. We sat down and ate inside. We were going to take our food to go. Rachel found us a table and ate there. The people there are very nice. They work to make sure you get well taken care of. We will be back. You can check the menu to see what food and coffee and drinks the offer. We got the # 2 biscuit called the staple. It was very good. We got grits to go with it. The grits were very good as well. Overall, it was a great choice for breakfast. It was our first time and we will be back again. You should try it out as well. It's good to go to a place where the people serving your meal care about what they do to make the experience very enjoyable. B.
