The Figueiredo Mansion

Visited here first time after all these years being in Goa. This is one beautiful classic and well maintained house from the time Goa was a Portuguese colony. This must be more than 500 years old house. The engineering of this house is exceptional. They have unique artefacts, paintings of more than 100 to 200 years old, silver vessels and furniture of wood which is still intact after 200 to 300 years. Very impressive. I have gone for a day tour. Takes almost 1 hour to see the house. They also give rooms for stays. Each room is beautifully decorated with antique items and nice wooden bed. All AC rooms with clean washrooms. They charge nominal 350 rs for day tour and the guide explains significance of each room, article and the architecture which is very impressive. Overall great experience.

We recently visited the museum while in the area. Very well preserved, considering it was built in the 16th century. A lot of history in the form of furniture,curios and various artifacts are artistically displayed. I was only displeased with the washroom facilities. I wish they were regularly maintained and properly equipped for tourists visiting the mansion. Jan.2026

A museum with beautiful interiors but a very strange staff. I went on a tour on January 5th. There were four of us. The manager showed me around and said we could take photos. We had a great time. Before my flight home on February 17, I decided to stop by and take a few photos with my phone. I arrived at the museum, and a different manager met us. She asked what country I was from. I explained I didn't need the tour and wanted to take a few photos. I asked to use the restroom so I could try on shorts and trousers. And then it all started... They wouldn't let me change. The manager said she'd give me my money back and that I couldn't take any photos! She asked me to leave. The manager said I'd have to pay more to take photos, but she didn't know how much. I'm very upset because it took me a long time to get there, and they kicked me out.

Hey ,Hello to the owner of this Mansion hotel cum Museum, we want to visit the museum on the 18th February, 10:30am time slot guided tour, I have 2 questions - Q Do we need to book the guided tour well in advance, now in January or we can book after landing in Goa or like at the site in offline manner? Q Is the guided tour in Hindi? Or is it completely in english, Can we request for a tour in Hindi?

I visited this Mansion, Goa on 22nd January 2025 with my friends, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. We were charged an entry fee of ₹350 per person, but this fee was not clearly mentioned or displayed anywhere at the entrance or beforehand. Additionally, no receipt was provided after payment, which felt unprofessional and lacked transparency. The tour guide was rude and unwelcoming towards tourists. She also seemed not well-informed about the history and details of the mansion and rushed through the tour without proper explanations. The mansion itself has a lot of potential and could be a wonderful cultural experience.I hope the management takes steps to improve the overall visitor experience.

The house is beautiful. Came for a tour a few weeks ago but the tour guide was quite rude. She also didn’t seem to know details when we asked about the different sections of the house. Maybe other tour guides are knowledgeable

Had visited Figueiredo Mansion a few months back. Had a wonderful experience looking at some amazing historical stuff and the guide Mr Constaceo was a very kind hearted man who spoke in depth about each and every important items on display and it's significance. He was kind enough to show us all the rooms where the guests stay at. It is a beautifully renovated mansion and a wonderful place to visit with family and friends. Unfortunately never got the opportunity to meet Mrs Fatima as she wasn't at the mansion at the time but looking forward to seeing her as well as the Figueiredo mansion again along with my mum 😀

It is an old Portugese property getting used as hotel. Experience 450 years old architecture and styling. Most things are preserved as it is.
