I ordered leopard snakeskin angelfish from them all the way in Virginia and they were packed well and all 8 made it alive. Beautiful fish, I’m very happy. It’s hard to find this morph.

Hands down the best freshwater fish shop I’ve ever been to. You can tell right when you walk in that the owners actually care about quality — the tanks are spotless, the fish are healthy, and everything looks professionally maintained. Their discus selection is incredible, with vibrant colors and strong body shapes you rarely see in most stores. They also carry other high-end freshwater species and plants that are clearly sourced with care. The staff really know their stuff, too. Whether it’s water parameters, tank setups, or diet advice, they take the time to explain things instead of just selling you something. You can tell they want your fish to thrive, not just survive. Prices are fair for the quality you get, and honestly, it’s refreshing to find a place that treats the hobby seriously. I always leave inspired to improve my tanks. If you’re into serious freshwater aquascaping or discus keeping, this is the spot.

Newer fish shop that has lots of beautiful betta fish, angelfish, rainbow fish, flower horns, cichlids, various types of glo fish, and nano fish. They are currently remodeling to have more space for nano fish and mentioned they hopefully will be done in a couple months. The shop is super friendly, reasonably priced! Huy was very kind and mentioned they can try and special order fish that they don't currently carry. Bonus is if you are a C.O.A.S.T. Club member you get a discount! I got my glo Betta here and am absolutely in love with her, as well as some Corydoras. As of this posting, Corydoras are $5, the betta are $10 if they're from the sorority tanks, and $20 for the larger ones on the display rack. They have a huge selection of beautiful betta both male and female so if you're looking for one I'd check here! They also sell fish food, fish meds, tanks, and basic fish tools in you are in need. Definitely worth checking out this local fish shop! Can't wait to see what it looks like when they're fully remodeled!

New shop in Orange County but gorgeous fish! Got a new friend for my cichlid tank, be back for some more fish without a doubt. Good prices very friendly! I think I have another flower horn in mind! Back again, Great choice of foods, and supplies. Some interesting fish on this visit I've never seen before Nice clean shop tanks well taken care of and a new Betta rack. Back in a couple days for some new fish.

Nice friendly workers and give good advice on any aquarium needs. If your looking for discus fish, oh boy they do have a awesome selection. From what I seen, 3-7.5 inch selections.

Very nice store, definitely one of the better ones. You can tell it's run by hobbyists for hobbyists. Some good things: They have a dedicated betta rack, great selection of driftwood, large number of tanks, fancy shrimps, and even some angel breeding setups. Some things that can be improved: some of the tanks had dead fish in it, no problem on its own but you could tell they had been in there for a while due to the rate of decay. Stocking wise this place excels in discus, other south american cichlids, rainbows, bettas, and fancy guppies. Not a great selection of catfish, tetras, standard community fish, etc.

The guy working didnt care about the poor dead fish :( I pointed it out and he ignored me, there was also 2 other smaller fish and I told another guy and he didnt do anything about it

Such a great little fish store! The owner is so kind and truly cares about the fish and the customers. The shop was recently remodeled and looks super clean, organized, and welcoming. You can tell a lot of love and effort went into it. A really nice place to visit and support.

I'm a fish keeper for decades, bought 4 angelfish from them, in 2 days 1 died, 4th day 2nd one died, 2 weeks later another one died, all these time all my other fish are fine

Beware, call ahead before visiting. Not open on Saturday @ 10:20am despite business hours indicating that it would be open.

you can easily tell that this place do not care about their fishes. I saw multiple fishes dead in one tank. i wouldn't recommend buying from this place.

Bought angelfish and they all died within couple days. I wouldn't buy from here nice looking angelfish but not in good shape make sure to quarantine

I really like this store. Very beautiful fish, I love the monster fish out in the front. I got my stunning Thai silk from them and he is thriving so much. I will buy more fish from this store in the future. Perhaps the Datnoid out on the front. The owners are very friendly and take the time to talk to you. Really had a good time shopping here

Hơn 7 năm trước đây mình có người bạn giúp làm hồ cá đơn giản cho mình. Người bạn này rất mê cá nên đã bỏ ra rất nhiều thời gian làm. Sau đó người ấy về lại với gia đình và đã chỉ cho mình cách chăm sóc. Tuy vậy với thời gian thì máy filter, đèn đóm bị hư. Mình cũng hỏi thăm và tìm cách mua và đồ đã hư. Tuy vậy hồ cá của mình càng ngày càng trầm trọng hơn dù đã làm nhiều cách. Mình cũng đi thăm dò các tiệm bán cá và làm hồ cá nhưng không hiểu sao mình không thấy có sự tin tưởng để hỏi họ giúp cho mình. Sau đó mình lên Facebook groups hỏi thăm về việc hồ cá và có nhiều người đã cho mình biết về Huy Đoàn và thefinshoptropicalshop. Sau khi vài lời nhắn qua lại Huy đã quyết định đến xem để biết thêm về tình hình của hồ cá của mình. Huy đã hiểu lý do mình muốn giữ hồ cá (phong thủy). Và sau đó lên kế hoạch thời gian và chi phí để làm siêu mềm. Vài ngày sau Huy và người phụ tá cũng rất dễ thương Tam T Dinh lau chùi hồ cá và làm thêm bên trong cho đẹp hơn. @Huy Doan rất từ tốn trả lời tất cả câu hỏi của mình từ a-z mà rất lịch thiệp, không ra vẻ khó chịu với những câu hỏi của mình. Người phụ tá tên Tâm cũng dễ thương và lễ phép giải thích thêm những gì mình cần và không cần. Mình cảm thấy hai em như người trong nhà khi giúp mình thay đổi hình dạng bên trong hồ cá. Nhìn hai em làm mình cảm thấy hai em làm vi sự đam mê mà ra. Hồ cá đã hoàn thành xong và mình biết sau này hồ cá ấy sẽ được Huy Doan và thefinshoptropicalshop chăm sóc thường xuyên. Nếu bạn cũng như mình không biết làm sao có hồ cá đẹp và cách gìn giữ thì đừng lo lắng và ngần ngại hay để cho #thefinshoptropicalshop lo nhé. Great store with a great selection of fish, especially discus. Importantly, the owner is there and he is very knowledgeable. He helped me picked out a few discus and answered my questions. He appears to care about the hobby and that means a lot. So important is that he quarantine his fish before he sells them. So you are not going to get a sick fish when it gets into your tank.

I had a really great experience coming to this shop, I traveled for about 1 hours and 20 minutes to go check it out. And it was well worth the drive. They carry high end quality fish with really great prices. It's a must go shop. Staff are very friendly and polite and they carry a huge selection of freshwater fish and shrimps. I don't believe any one can beat his prices.

When I arrived the owner hovered over us and when I asked a question about a fish I got a 1word response. Didn't seem to care for my business. Didn't see any live plants for sale and the walkways were dark and littered with hoses.

I went here because of the other really good reviews. But this store was shockingly bad. There were dead fish in multiple tanks, some of which were decaying (presumably they were dead a long time). Some of the tanks were so dirty that I couldn't tell what was in them. And they had 2 leaf turtles in a tiny container (the kind people keep crickets in) with no light, no heat, and no water. I don't know how this store got so many positive reviews. Its animal cruelty to keep animals in those conditions.

This fish shop has alot of varieties. They have a plethora of cichlids and other tropicals. I highly recommend this shop for aquarium hobbyist.

Great store with a big healthy selection of fish. I especially love their discus but I'm not quite ready for those yet. I got 3 golden roseline sharks (denison barbs) here and I'm loving them. I also fell absolutely in love with the rainbowfish they have and I might come back for some of those really soon

This is a sad fish store . I honestly don't know how it got such a high rating, looks like everyone just gave up. . There are so many dirty tanks, many tanks are also over run with algae. Some fish were dead for so long ,they were on the bottom covered by debris & algae. There are also a lot of empty tanks. There are No prices or names of fish on the aquariums, you have to ask the man behind the counter on his phone, if you have a question. There was water on the floor , near the speed bumps that cover tubing / wiring. Easy to miss , doesn't help that the store is dark! I would have taken photos but I didn't have my phone. Needless to say I didn't buy any fish & I won't be back!

Great variety of discus and flowerhorn fishes. First time went here and left happy with a flower horn fry. All of fish are healthy and very well taken care of. Definitely be coming back. Great owner!

They have a really good selection of ornamental freshwater fish. They have lots of South American cichlids like discus, angelfish, parrots, and flowerhorns. A lot of rainbow fish, goldfish, bettas, fancy guppies, etc. all the fish here have good color strains. Some go for premium prices. Other very sought after fish are at a great bargain. I saw some Galaxy rasboras for only $5. Wow! And there were some less common fish such as freshwater sole fish and hillstream loaches. They also have some colorful cherry shrimps at fair prices too. If you want fish that are fancier than what they sell at Petsmart and most other local fish stores, go here. This store is mainly for stocking fish. I didn't see any tanks, plants, or aquascaping materials for sale. Hobby supplies are limited to the basic stuff. I'd say this store is geared towards more experienced aquarists who already have tanks and know what they're looking for. Unfortunately the store itself is quite dirty and the health of the fish varies. When I walked in, the smell of aquarium fish and humidity immediately hit. Not a great sign. Some tanks were dirty. Most fish look in decent or good condition but some looked sick. Some dead fish in any fish store is to be expected, but I saw some neglected tanks that had nothing but dead fish in half a foot of water. And it looks like it's been left that way for a while. Yikes! It looks like there was only one guy working the store and the store is pretty big. Maybe they need an extra hand to help with cleaning everything and it'd easily be a 5-star place.

Awesome shop! Very clean store, the owner Huy is very hospitable along with Tham who I met. Very good selection of fish. I've seen many fish here that aren't at other places like wild discus, various guppy strains, Teugelsi bichirs, and others; when I saw they had Teugelsi Bichirs here I had to get 3!!! The discus selection is insane and the prices are very reasonable. Absolutely recommend this place. Well done.

This establishment is absolutely tremendous, there's a wide variety of female and male beta fish from all sorts of colors. They have fish from Discus to arowanas to Blue Dragon Guppies. This place, though small and getting established, is magnificent. They had many things from sponge filters, tanks of all sizes, fish meds, and decor. The prices are reasonable as quality of their products in store is amazing. I got a sponge filter and a pair of blue dragon guppies. All I have to say is that the experience is amazing as well as customer service. The gentleman running the place has lots of patience and is passionate about the aquarium hobby. He even let me Cherry pick which fish I wanted to buy. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants quality service and quality fish with reasonable prices. 10/10 would recommend.

I just bought a pair of full gold ribbon guppy from this store. The store has variety of high quality fishes especially the guppy fish where can't find at other stores. The price is reasonable and the owner was very friendly and informative. I am very happy with the service at this store. Highly recommended. A++++

I love this place they are so friendly and helpful . Have very pretty fish and healthily !! I just bought another Angel fish from there it's so cute and tiny very healthy active . The prices are great I get blood worms for way cheaper then Petco or pet smart here and brine shrimp (frozen ). And they always have them in stock ! I also buy my tropical fish food flakes there for way less then anywhere else . Fish meds and water conditioner they have everything for way less then any where . I've been going here for a few months now and I bought a black ghost eel this little guy is healthy and he ate right away without any problem still cruising around the tank not shy at all. My 2 Angel fish are so cute happy pretty healthy no problems at all had them for over a month a lot smaller then my other angels but way healthier then the ones I bought from Petco . I just bought these super tiny micro algae eaters I thought for sure they were not going to make it last a week bc of how tiny they are but no they are tuff as fuck they don't take shot from the other fish picking at them they literally chase my angel fish my graumies and my dojo loach around the tank . . They lady there is so sweet and so helpful and happy . I just love going there it's a good vibe .

Awesome store. Went to check it out when it first opened, all of the tanks looked clean and fish looked nice and healthy. Left with a baby red severum and he's been doing amazing my aquarium. Huy's a great owner and I'll definitely be coming back for more!
