The Firefly

Staying at firefly was one of the highlights of our trip not only for the amazing location and beautiful rooms. Ryan was such an amazing host such a positive genuine guy who really cared about our experience. He gave us some great tips and was always on hand to help. We tried both the air bungalow and the room on the terrace and both were beautiful and peaceful. Although we didn’t dine at night, the breakfast and coffee were great, and if we stayed again we would definitely try the nighttime menu as it looked yummy. If we would have more time we would have stayed longer thanks for a great stay and hope to see you again one day. Nick & Lauren

A truly magical wedding by the sea We cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible experience we had at this charming little hotel by the sea. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for in the most heartfelt way. We chose this hotel for our very intimate wedding, just the two of us, and it could not have been more perfect. The setting is breathtaking, with the sound of the waves and the fresh ocean breeze creating a serene and romantic atmosphere. The hotel itself is cozy, beautifully decorated, and impeccably maintained. The staff went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable. They helped with every little detail, from setting up a stunning private spot by the sea for our ceremony to arranging a delicious celebratory dinner for two. Their warmth and attention to detail made us feel truly special. We will forever cherish the memories of our stay here and highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful escape or a unique place to celebrate life’s special moments. This might be the best dining experience in Bocas. Very well thought out menu and beautifully executed. The combination of international doctor profiles and local ingredients is exquisite. It is set up as a small item tasting menu 2-3 items per person so you can really explore the menu. The menu changes but is professionally trained so I would trust their recommendations. A must go

Wow! I came here not expecting much, but I was completely blown away by the quality of the food and drinks. This place has been running for 14 years, and they really know what they're doing. The road to get there feels like a bit of a dead end, coming off the main road in Old Bank Town, Bastimentos. But then you arrive at this cozy oceanside hotel with stunning sunset views and relaxing lounge music. The menu is small but varied, and every dish looks better than the last. For me, it was an incredible culinary experience. I can’t recommend it enough—it’s the perfect spot for a date or just to treat yourself to great food. Beautiful, peaceful and calm place with amazing staff. Delicious and different breakfast every day. Amazing hikes to redfrog beach, Wizard beach and Polo beach are possible and Beautiful. The Prices for food and drinks are pricy, so are the Tours like Fishing, Yoga and Massage.

We enjoyed a fantastic meal at Firefly. Outstanding environment and friendly staff that continued to make our trip a delight as we saw them around the islands throughout our trip. Food was beyond amazing!!! A must visit if your in the area!!!!

We had an amazing experience at The Firefly on Isla Bastimentos. The hotel is beautifully located by the sea, in the charming Caribbean village of Old Bank. The atmosphere in this village, and at the hotel, was truly unique. The waterfront setting of the hotel created a fantastic ambiance, especially as the sun began to set. The hotel is surrounded by lush jungle greenery and the soothing sound of waves in the background. We truly appreciate The Firefly’s dedication to preserving the island’s natural beauty and their commitment to eco-friendliness. It’s inspiring to see how they prioritize sustainability by reusing materials in the construction of the restaurant and incorporating environmentally conscious practices into their operations. Knowing that they care deeply about minimizing their impact on the island’s ecosystem made our visit even more special. The food was absolutely delicious! The menu features exciting Asian-inspired tapas with a Caribbean twist, all made with fresh, local ingredients. We especially loved the concept of small plates, which made it easy to share and try a variety of dishes. Each bite was a delightful discovery of new flavors. We were a bit sad that they ran out of fish, and did not offer that on our stay. We would also have liked a healthier breakfast option. The restaurant only accepts cash, we would love to be able to pay by card. The owner and manager was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. We highly recommend The Firefly. This is the perfect place to enjoy incredible food, beautiful nature, and a relaxed atmosphere.

We picked Firefly because of its vibe on a small and less chaotic island than Colon. We loved the surroundings, the privacy of the rooms (we stayed in the Water bungalow), and especially the food! Michelle is an amazing chef and creates the best breakfasts and dinners! Seriously, if you love great food, come here! And, she’s competing in the World Food Championships in November. Not only is she a great chef, but she’s fantastic at suggesting things to do and making arrangements for you. Ryan is a warm and welcoming host and mixes some tasty drinks! If you want a laid back and relaxing experience in a unique ever and breakfast, do yourself a favor and book a room here and eat dinner here too!!!
