We had an amazing experience at The Firefly on Isla Bastimentos. The hotel is beautifully located by the sea, in the charming Caribbean village of Old Bank. The atmosphere in this village, and at the hotel, was truly unique.
The waterfront setting of the hotel created a fantastic ambiance, especially as the sun began to set. The hotel is surrounded by lush jungle greenery and the soothing sound of waves in the background.
We truly appreciate The Firefly’s dedication to preserving the island’s natural beauty and their commitment to eco-friendliness. It’s inspiring to see how they prioritize sustainability by reusing materials in the construction of the restaurant and incorporating environmentally conscious practices into their operations. Knowing that they care deeply about minimizing their impact on the island’s ecosystem made our visit even more special.
The food was absolutely delicious! The menu features exciting Asian-inspired tapas with a Caribbean twist, all made with fresh, local ingredients. We especially loved the concept of small plates, which made it easy to share and try a variety of dishes. Each bite was a delightful discovery of new flavors. We were a bit sad that they ran out of fish, and did not offer that on our stay. We would also have liked a healthier breakfast option. The restaurant only accepts cash, we would love to be able to pay by card.
The owner and manager was incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better.
We highly recommend The Firefly. This is the perfect place to enjoy incredible food, beautiful nature, and a relaxed atmosphere.
