"The Fish Shop, Potts Point by Squad Ink. What we have here is an upmarket fish & chips shop drawing inspiration from the white-washed seaside towns of the American north-east coast. The atmosphere is buzzing at the frount, but more intimate at the back. The fish is fresh, locally caught and well prepared. There’s also a good choice of Australian wines from organic to natural and bio-dynamic - the house rosé is a must! Photography: Merivale."

Great Fish items with fresh find especially Fish and chips is awesome. As dessert we ordered cheese cake with strawberry that is simply yummy. The weather was good and seating outside we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Staff has been very friendly and service minded.

The fish and chips are incredible here, very fresh and flavorful fish with a light breading. The pickles and side salads are great. If you're here for dinner, the rotating fish specials seemed like a great deal and a unique variety.

"Can I sit outside?" You could tell he did not want me to but there was another lone diner out there. He reluctantly removed the extra settings, returning shortly after with a rusty old enamelled pitcher of water which he poured and made off with. Kinda used to having a refill.... I asked for him to leave it and ordered - clams for entree and Mahi Mahi for main and a glass of wine. The clams were tasty if a little over seasoned and a barman appeared with a glassful of wine in a tiny glass jug. Hmm, could have been anything rather than the French Chardonnay I ordered. Hey I'm not suggesting it was just that the seed of doubt entered my mind. Then the main; which was well cooked but small accompanied by a molehill of oily rocket, which cost forty bucks. All in all a pretty uninspiring lunch experience tainted by a plethora of mildly irritating occurrences not helped at all by the half finshed decor and the server proudly announcing his hangover and complaining about the rudeness of other diners which cost me $90 and an hour and a half of my life I will not get back. Not that it makes too much difference, I'll just never go back.

Great service, good food. The standout was the fish burger. A well run merivale establishment.

Brilliant fish and chips, good service, nice atmosphere. Stellar tartare. Good wine. Nice dessert. Kid friendly (the high chair looks like a Charles Rennie Mackintosh, very posh).

Usually great for fresh seafood, amazing rock oysters, fish varies, a bit expensive and quality has gone down a bit over the years.

Had a selection of four of the entrees and three of the mains. Entrees were all fairly good but none outstanding in flavour (except maybe the sprat). The seafood was fresh. As for the mains, the fish and chips was good with an exceptional tartare sauce but the risotto was dry and tasted like fried rice. Again, the ingredients were of good quality however. Overall it was good but not worth returning to.

This place has never disappointed. The food is fantastic, delicious and always on point. The market list and specials are always changing and perfectly compliment the rest of the menu! The vibe is perfectly casual and suits an afternoon drop in, or long lunch/dinner. The service always has you so well looked after with warmth and great drinks! Such a shame to see an authentic favourite being farewelled! Compliments to all the team!
