The Fives Beach Hotel & Residences

My family and I just went to this resort for my graduation present and it was absolutely incredible. As soon as we arrived there were refreshments waiting for us as we checked in with the well informed and efficient ambassadors. Our room was very neat and taken care of (although we did have some problems with our air conditioning). All of the waiters especially Alejandro and Santiago are such hard workers and took great care of us while always keeping a smile on their faces. Jose the amazing artist by the pool helped us create awesome souvenirs to remember such an amazing trip. The entertainment was great especially dancing and doing karaoke with Daniela! Overall I had a blast and will definitely be back!

This resort is a solid 3 star. The staff works hard and do what they can to help. The property is big. They call themselves an all inclusive resort but the truth is, it’s a condo community with amenities that are not large enough to accommodate its size. As an owner:member there are more options than there are to hotel guests. We came during low season (early June) and were assigned a room in the furthest section from the beach (a 15 min walk or wait for a trolly). We asked at check in to be moved closer to the beach and were offered an option for the same room with an unshaded rooftop terrace at a rate of an additional $150/nt. We decided to stick with what we have. The blackout shades were stuck and didn’t close all the way (called in, and never repaired), asked for extra towels and delivered 3 to a room that had 4 people. Overall, the resort is a pig with lipstick. It looks nice until you have to use it. Many broken details. Hotel guests are not permitted to use certain areas and pools. My biggest problem was the lack of shade. Of at least 12 pools on property, I was advised that 3 might have some umbrellas for shade (not including the pools that were designated for owners/members). We were stuck sitting in the room until the afternoon b/c there was nothing to do and no shade to sit in. Very disappointing. The food here is sub par, though you can find 1 decent item at each rest , certainly not the culinary journey they are advertising. I have been to many all inclusive resorts in the Quinta Roo area, and this is by far the least favorite. To be fair, this is our first time back since the pandemic. There are multiple restaurants on site, none take reservations (at least not from hotel guests) so we waited some nights for over an hour to be seated. No buffet options after breakfast. Once seated the service was extremely slow (took 2 hours to have a meal once seated at the Italian restaurant). Overall my family will not be returning to this resort as hotel guests. I would not recommend it

Resort - the resort is great and beautiful. Great and safe place to walk around. Everyone was very friendly.||Food - the food was amazing. This was our 2nd time to the resort and we came back for the food and it did not disappoint. Every place we are at was amazing except for the Mexican (mestizo). The Italian (Arezzo) and Thai (koi Thai) places were our favorite. They also have lovely older ladies making fresh tortillas multiple places. The food is the best of any resort I have ever been too.||Room - we had 1 bedroom residence that we split with two girls. We had plenty of room. The room was plenty spacious and always kept clean.||Pools - the pools were great and plenty of them. Most of the pools had their own bar which was nice. ||Bars - Bars everywhere. You never have a problem finding a drink. Bartenders are great.||Beach/ocean - there was seaweed galore. Probably the worst it has been in years. Nothing you can do about that though. The beach was kept clean. Even if the ocean was clear the beach going into the water is rocky. This is the main reason k give this place a 4 stars instead of 5.||Entertainment - the entertainment is good. This place has a way more laid back environment. If you want a party place, this is not it. If you want a place where you get to hear live music in a pavilion at night this is your place.

Averaging up to 5 stars. Positively lovely place with some of the best service I've ever experienced. Large rooms and excellent food, many many options to go for pools and bars. Stayed 5 days, 4 nights and was never disappointed. It's easy to miss, but definitely get yourself the Mexican hot chocolate at breakfast, easily one of my favorite things about the place. Critiques I had was that our shower never got hot, warm and comfortable but never quite to what I would call hot; also had a few times during busy hours where I ordered drinks but didn't get them and had to go order direct from the bar. Both kind of understandable things. Would love to come again and bring the kiddo with next time.

This hotel is hands down amazing in every way. The resort remained immaculate the whole 2 weeks, our room was well maintained, and spacious enough for what we needed. The cleaner did a good job everyday and our fridge was restocked everyday. The grounds are beautiful, the jungle is unreal and the animals throughout the resort make it a magical experience. |The food was really good everywere we ate, plenty of options throughout the day and night. The staff were so nice everywere and treat us like royalty. Our favourite resteraunts were the Italian, frensh and Thai resteraunt. At lunch the burger bar, pizza bar and weekly bbq were our favorite.|The entertainment staff were amazing and kept the pools busy everyday. We enjoyed the sushi making class and cocktail making class. I wanted to give a special shout out to Monse, Annie, Eddie, Benji, Dzniety and Lzmilo for making our holiday extra special.

We had a fantastic experience at The Fives Beach Hotel in Playa del Carmen. The resort is beautiful, well-maintained, and has a great vibe for both relaxing and enjoying great food. Special thanks to Humberto and Miguel at the beach — they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. They kept the drinks flowing and brought out more food than we could eat! Their service made our beach days unforgettable. The restaurants on the property were all excellent — each one offered something different, and the food was consistently delicious. From breakfast to dinner, every meal was a highlight. Highly recommend The Fives for anyone looking for great service, amazing food, and a relaxing beach getaway in Playa del Carmen.

Just got home from The Fives and was so sad to leave. The resort is beautiful, immaculately kept, lovely rooms, super comfy rooms with perfect air con. The setting is stunning, in amongst the most amazing tropical jungle with mangroves in the middle. Amazingly kept gardens and planting. Load of lush, clean pools with super fun swim up bars. Great choice of restaurants that are easy to get tables at, and if they are full one night they will ensure you can get a table elsewhere and go to the other another night. The staff are wonderful, friendly, fun and super helpful. The beach is lovely. A bit of seaweed at this time of year but it was cleared constantly and really didn’t bother us. Lots of wildlife around, which we loved. Great evening entertainment, the Joy and Wellness team are outstanding. Once in a lifetime excursions can be book from the hotel. Amazing!

We absolutely love staying at The Fives, so much so that we became members with epic travelers! The rooms are beautiful and always stocked. The staff is very attentive, welcoming and friendly. Our ambassadors and team were always on top of everything throughout the day from making dinner reservations at all of the restaurants to making sure that everything is going well. All of the restaurants are top notch and there are so many to choose from featuring different kinds of cuisines. There are also plenty of bars throughout the resort as well. We also enjoyed our couple’s romantic beach dinner, where the presentation/food and service were all amazing! My husband’s favorite meal of the trip was the Tomahawk steak which came with an exquisite presentation. The spa is serene/relaxing with great services as well! They always have activities around the pools and fun shows/entertainment in the evening at the plaza. The resort itself is always well maintained and beautiful. This year we were able to attend the members appreciation dinner which was absolutely beautiful with great entertainment and we can’t wait to come again later in the year!
