It’s totally worth the price! Customer service is not the best, but it’s alright. For me, the most important thing is cleanliness and my room was clean and in order. Actually, as I walked in I could still smell a little bit of the product they use to clean, which made me feel good about the room. The breakfast is also a mini buffet so it’s nice! Location isn’t the best, but it’s not bad, it was like a 30 minute walk to downtown for me. Good experience!

My dog Princess and I stayed at the Flagler Inn January 27, 2025. It was better than expected, and offered great value for the price. Though a little dated, both the hotel facility and the individual room were very clean and well kept. Parking lots were well-lit, and well kept. Breakfast was decent, plentiful and included a good range of offerings, such as eggs, waffles, cereals, sausage, bacon, yogurts, breads / buns / bagels, and cold and hot drinks as part of the price. Hotel was pet-friendly. In summary, I highly recommend the Flagler Inn, and would definitely stay again. Andrew

Stayed here in 2021 and it was WONDERFUL, so we booked again for our wedding/honeymoon this year and were absolutely devastated. I am one to never really write reviews or determine stays based on reviews but please listen to these reviews!!! Definitely an owner change and cleanliness seems to not be in their budget. We booked months in advance yet all 4 rooms booked were filthy. Mind you, our wedding was Halloween night so there was nowhere else available for our party size. Therefore we cleaned our own rooms. Let’s not forget all the leftover tape and sticky residue from previous parties and such that had never been taken off the walls. Now let’s move on to the showers that leak. 2/4 rooms had issues with the shower in which we told housekeeping and they said “that’s new” and never followed up. Now the pull out couch our toddler slept on. FILTHY sheets were covered in pizza sauce, thank god we always bring our own blankets. Again, notified housekeeping and all they did was bring us a new sheet with no sympathy. Our king bed sheets had NUMEROUS cigarette hole burns in them as well. I would have rated this hotel far above 5 stars 3 years ago, but please save your time and money.

Everything was good! Plus the staff is helpful. We went there for Nights of lights. We stayed 1 night. The check in/out was fast and easy. Just don't keep you hopes high when you see your room, nothing fancy, since its affordable but all good! And free simple breakfast! Yay!! Thank you. 😊

Wow is all I can say. Checked into our room and housekeeping had just "cleaned" our room. Walked into the room and the floor was COVERED with floor wax and I about slipped and fell. We went out and told the housekeeper that our floor was covered with wax and was very slippery-he told me to go down to the front desk. I let him know that he left out floor covered in wax and it needed to be fixed. He came in with a mop which did nothing. My husband asked for extra towels and used them in the floor to get the wax up. Let's talk about the couch and ottoman which was not even put back into position. The ottoman had spots of leather missing. Then let's talk about the AC. Clearly not cleaned from the photos..dirt, possibly a pubic hair and the paper from the adhesive of a period pad. Filter clearly has not been changed in forever. Let's talk about the black mold all over the shower. Called the front desk and asked for the manager. I was advised that the manager wouldn't be available until Monday. I asked for the manager to be contacted now and requested a call. First I was advised that they could not do that. I asked what would happen if we fell and injured ourselves on the floor. I was asked to hold on and then after a few minutes I was hung up on. I stripped the bed to make sure at least that would be clean and it was. Took pictures of everything in the room including the sink which was chipped and had stains on it. Rooms-ZERO. Service-ZERO. Definitely wasted money on this one-wont make that mistake again! HORRIBLE! Health Dept should shut this place down! We will not be staying the night and will BE SURE to get a refund. Told the girl at front desk we were checking out and showed her the picture of the black mold and she was non reactive. I asked her if she knew that black mold could kill a healthy person..what would it to me as I have Cancer. Again..non reactive and not sympathetic. We'll see if I get my refund. Would not provide any proof that we had checked out.

Beware of room 203. Entered my room what hopefully was just a pizza stain on the blanket. Bathroom had pee on the toilet seat and toilet was not able to flush. They definitely need new house keepers or pay them better. We arrived in the afternoon and said they still needed time to prep the room and well… obviously they needed more than 4 hours to prep it. Merry Christmas!!

Stayed the night Monday Jan 6th. Very clean room. Staff was incredible. Staff was extremely nice. I had issues with my TV (I’m not to savy technically)The gentleman working the front desk Ran up to my room To help program and show me how to use the television. The Continental Breakfast was excellent. Location of the Motel was perfect. No complaints ❤️🥰

Google
Positive: Accessibility, the cleanliness, (I'm a cleaner & very sensitive to the level of cleanliness in borrowed environments) the lovely decor of the atmosphere, the convenience of the well maintained coffee bar & breakfast area. Negative: We had no complaints! Maybe an extra top blanket for the beds during winter months, since we came right after the winter storm passed through.

Yelp
Thank you Flagler Inn!! After having a terrible experience and cancellation with a B&B nearby, my wife and i needed other accommodations. I saw good reviews on their site, it was less expensive and available. The woman on the phone was very nice (although a little hard to understand feom language differences). When we arrived, we walked right in and were assisted immediately. The lobby was nice and clean and the agents were wearing masks. They were both very friendly and accommodating with me and a broken heel. After going to the room i was even more surprised. A very nice, clean room with more amenities than i expected for the price. And to top it off, when my wife went to get ice; an employee asked her if she needed anything! Awesome place, awesome service...just plain AWESOME!!

Yelp
Room was Musty, cobwebs in all corners of room. Breakfast was not great, hard boiled eggs was the egg choice. Best part was the coffee. Walls had not been cleaned stains like mustard on the bathroom wall and fixtures have never been wiped. Overall dirty room, Not much in making it look good. Location was great. Close to downtown St. Augustine. If I owned that hotel every room would be inspected and I would try to update if possible. Could be great employees probably do not get paid much So slowly but surely it looks like another hotel that is in decline due to lack of professional and proper care. Clean the walls change out linen design and put the effort in to keep up the outside and the grounds. Personally I would stay at another hotel probably closer and more expensive but nicer and cleaner.

Yelp
We decided to book a 2 night stay here. The first day we got here was a bit crazy. We waited for our room to be ready at 3pm Friday February 28th 2025. Once check in was ready i paid 253. 16 for my two nights. Got our cards to the room. When entering the room, the room was dirty, the bedsheets looked like someone just finished sleeping in them, there was trash everywhere. I quickly closed the door as I was in shock and didn't know if someone was in there. I went up front to the front desk and the lady was nice enough to give up a new room number. So I went up to the new room (second room) the key wasn't working. I went back up front and let the lady again I let her know that the key wasn't working. She asked if I could wait a moment as she had customers in front of her, I told her it was no problem and waited by the door for her. As I waiting by the door of the second room key that was givin to us. A lady walked out of and asked why we were trying to open her door. while we were speaking to the lady in the room, the lady at the front desk was walking up the stairs in ah she was confused as why there was someone else in the room that we were supposed to be in. The lady from the front desk then told me that today was a busy day and it was becoming stressful. Then was given another room everything was working fine. We settled in and left for the day until returning when the lights did not turn on. We then realized that there was no power to the room and that's where the frustration set in. We now have been through 3 rooms within the last 4 hours. The gentleman that we spoke at the front desk that evening had no idea to what was going on, in frustration we asked to switch rooms with a difference of what we paid for the room we originally booked. The gentleman at the front then told us that we couldn't get reimbursed for the room that we were going to be switch to next or we would just have to leave. We decided to walk away from the situation and the come back to it as we might have agreed with what was said. When we came back we took the standard queen bed, with no idea what we were going to be walking into the lamps worked but not wall lights. I went to the front desk again to explain to what happened again they asked us to speak to the manager in the morning with severally apologizing for the incident. Our experience hasn't been the greatest and will be speaking to the manager and to someone else about this as well. As much as it wasn't a good experience for us we don't want that to happen to other people as well. I could not get a hold of management, as they will not call or email me back.

Yelp
Clean and comfortable hotel room! Had a pleasant one night stay and found this inn conveniently located close to downtown St. Augustine. Just about a 6 minute drive. Staff was friendly at check-in and check-out. Grabbed some breakfast to-go. Wasn't great but honestly better than most.

Yelp
This is a biohazard. Seems like old blood. What happened here? I need answers! I need to write 85 characters but am honestly out of thoughts here.

Yelp
For a great price, only one night.. the bed was very comfortable. And things are very tidy and clean. The TV was a little Old and needed to be replaced. But I do have to say the sofa bed had bedbugs. I complained to the front office and they said they haven't had bedbugs in two years.

Barbara M.

Yelp
Very nice place. My only negative is allowing smoking at the pool. It permeates throughout.

Yelp
Enjoyed my stay here. Good, safe location. Clean room. The patrons weren't sketchy. Everyone seemed kind and peaceful.

Yelp
Pros: Very nice employees. Helped with all our problems we had and were very apologetic. Cons: We get there and get checked in. My girl and I head to the room they told us to go to. We take our bags up and we are met with the room being cleaned and not ready. The gentleman cleaning our room called the front desk and told them the situation and we waited a good 10 minutes until a we got a new room with all our bags still in hand. We finally get in and get cleaned up and start to rest a little and we hear the door handle start to make noise. An employee then opens the door and just walks in and then sees us sitting in the bed and realizes and says "Oh I am so sorry. I did not know it was occupied at the moment." Luckily I was under the covers because I was half undressed. We let it go and the night goes by. We then get up and start to check out and I tell the gentlemen who helped us with the room situation about what happened and he told me that the employee who walked in on us is the same one who switched us to that room. Now how do you not pay attention to the room you just put someone in and then go and walk in there. Makes no sense to me and gave us real sketchy vibes. Also there was construction on the road near the Inn and was going all night. Not the hotels fault of course but still an inconvenience. The rating would be lower if it wasn't for the two gentlemen who helped us out and for showing some care for the situation. Lovely little place but the place itself needs a little bit more organization so it doesn't run the way it did.

Yelp
It's okay, nothing to write home about. It's an old style motel type place (all exterior doors) small bathroom/shower area, with sink outside the bathroom - had a old/musty smell until the A/C was cranked up. Not overpowering but detectable. It's Florida, I'm sure the humidity doesn't help. So, overall, not the best place I've stayed, not the worst...just okay....would I go back? Not if I had other options, like a Marriott or something, but it served its purpose while I was there.

Yelp
This is the second time we have stayed here and have yet to have any major complaints. Minor things would be there was a few hairs in my shower upon check in, there was a couple large ants in the bathroom, the pool towels they provided are rather tiny (too small even for my 7 year old). HOWEVER, none of those minor things truly affected our stay. Got to start by saying the price is unbeatable and allows us to not spend a fortune on a place to stay so we can better enjoy our vacations year to year. The staff is super friendly and goes above and beyond to accommodate guests. The FREE breakfast is delicious and made it possible for us to save money each day so we had more to spend shopping during the day and dining out in the evenings. There are trolly stops at the hotel for both the Ripley and Old Town tours which is super convenient. Even without the trolly stops the hotel is super conveniently located to down town historic district and less than 15 mins to the beach. We enjoyed time in the pool every day, although the pool area is small it is absolutely pristine and clean. It's a saltwater pool which is a lovely change of pace from a tradition chlorine pool and has plenty of patio furniture and lay out deck chairs available. Very family friendly and the outside chairs and sitting area for each room is such a nice and unexpectedly enjoyable touch. There is a delicious Mexican restaurant in the parking lot that we have become "locals" at and will continue to return to, being able to walk over there and enjoy a couple margaritas and then return to our room is such a luxury that is not wasted on us. We definitely enjoyed both of our stays and will certainly be returning in the future. Thank you Flagler Inn for becoming a staple in the Rutland Family Annual 4th of July Trip.

Yelp
A completely redone hotel that does a good job providing all you need for a weekend stay in the area. We booked the hotel online and showed up on a Friday mid-day. They let us check-in a little early so we could drop our bags. We were in the building that was across the street from the main portion of the hotel. The room was on the second floor and clean. We were able to find a good spot to set up our pack and play for the little one to sleep in overnight. The floors are not carpeted, so I would be a little worried that first floor people might be able to hear a lot of noise, but I prefer an uncarpeted room cause it's easier to see it's clean :) The front desk staff was friendly and we looked around the front lobby, gym and pool area. We didn't end up using any of the items they offered onsite, but it's because we were busy exploring the city. Overall: A We'd stay here again! Good price, clean rooms.

Yelp
Just came home from a short visit to St. Augustine. The Jaybirds inn was a pleasant surprise. Outside it doesn't look like much. But they have obviously re-decorated and it was very nicely redone. The staff was uber friendly. breakfast was simple (I hope you like waffles), and the train could be heard passing by at night. Those would be my only complaints. Overall great place.

Yelp
The front desk of the resort team is the amazing point of this resort. We showed up at 9 AM. We thought it would be a bonus if there was a room ready to drop off luggage, but completely understood when there was not. The front desk clerk was wondering at helping us with our tour so we did not have to drive down to the city. She also told us she would call us once our room was ready. I said not a worry as we will not be back until after 4:00 anyway which was check in time. She stated I will just call to let you know in case you need it. We headed out for our day in the city. We decided at 4:00 we would head back. I was not worried that we did not get a text. I figured it was just an overlook and since it was not needed I was fine with it. However, we arrived at the resort at 4:30 and we found out the room was not yet ready. We stayed in the lobby and played cards until the room was ready at around 5:30. I asked how it was not ready when you knew in the morning we had already arrived. She apologized and told us there were only two housekeepers. Once again, this person was also very friendly. We got into the room and the room was mostly clean. You could just tell that the housekeepers were just trying to get through their rooms and did not have time to deep clean. It was not bad so we did not say anything. We headed back out for the evening. We returned and opened up the sofa bed to find there were no sheets on it. We had even told front desk my daughter would be using it. We went to the front desk and they just handed us some blankets to make our own bed. There was no apology about it not being done. The next morning we checked out. The front desk person was away. The person there said the front desk person would return in just a minute. It took her 10 minutes to return. She did not ask how our stay was and there was a line behind me so I did not share my experiences. If this hotel can work on their housekeeping issues it would be a great place to stay.

Joe M.

Yelp
Would we stay there again? Maybe, and that's a very loose maybe that's leaning towards no. The people that work at the front desk is what keeps the hotel alive. The bathroom looked nice but the shower was more of a dribble of water hitting your body. The tile floors were filthy, I cleaned them with warm soapy water and used their towels to wipe them down. We didn't try their free breakfast, so, no comment on their food. The breakfast is served in the lobby and it looked nice and clean. On the plus side, the mattress was heaven and the in room coffee was really good, we used bottled water to make the coffee.

Charles C.

Yelp
We really loved the space and cleanliness of this room. It had a nice modern look to it. It wasn't too far from downtown, but it would be a good hike. The lobby was very nice and the front staff was friendly. It's too bad they don't utilize that lobby with a breakfast though since it is so nice. Looks like they used to have breakfast here. We have a family of four and only got two passes to go next door. My little girl doesn't eat much so I thought maybe one ticket would get us both. It's not a big buffet, but had eggs, sausage links, biscuits, gravy, grits, taters, bananas, and chocolate pudding. My wife didn't eat because she was uncertain if she would be charged for what was offered and opted to grab McD's around the block. Half of everything was almost empty while we went through. They did refill when we were about done. I was charged $8.47 for a meal. I didn't know about it though until I saw it on my credit card from the Jaybird Inn when we got home. So restaurant must have charged Jaybird. That was a little disappointing for me. The restaurant owner seemed very nice. She's owned the place for about a month. I wish her well in getting it turned around. Would I stay here again? Sure! Room was very nice for us. St. Augustine was beautiful.

Yelp
i booked a suite and it had a beat up futon in tv room you couldn't even sit on. Dirty bedding called and they said there's extra in closet. The suite is run down dingy dirty looking. No coffee pot of any kind in room. Fridgr is rocking in a cabinet. no hot water it was just horrible I had no choice but stay or go home everywhere was booke. I have yet to hear from anyone. the inside was bad but the outside butts and trash all over. Just wow sad sad sad. They never even came to clean up or freshen up room.

Amanda R.

Yelp
The Flagler Inn is definitely a 3-star hotel. The room we were originally given was run down and dated where the door wouldn't close completely and the bathroom countertops were makeshift counters. We were able to switch rooms to a better room that was more kept to date. For breakfast we were given yogurt and fruits in a bag due to covid. The yogurts were expired. The price isn't bad for a 3-star hotel. The hotel is near downtown. (Photos are from the updated room)

Yelp
Decided to stay here for our 2 day get away (one night) in St Augustine. Very happy with this hotel. It's incredibly close to down town (2 miles to be exact) and for the last minute price of $109 for the night, it topped even Airbnb for an incredible bang -for-buck ratio. The room itself was immaculate and looks to have been redone quite recently. The outside of the place could use a little face lift but don't let that fool you, it's well worth the stay. Special amenities in the rooms included Starbucks coffee, goose down pillows, and my girlfriends favorite, make up wipes! The only reason it's not a perfect 5 star is just because the walls may be a tad thin. A lot of outside noise tends to be heard. Will definitely be returning.

Wendy S.

Yelp
Two stars, one for affordability, one for one for a spacious room and comfortable bed. However, it wasn't as clean as I would hope, furniture in the room was broken, and there is no housekeeping until you check out. The bathroom was very small and when I got in bed I realized the sheets were on sideways!?! All in all, it was fine for just 2 nights and the price was good, but next time I would look for something else.

Mark P.

Yelp
Wow. Amazing front desk, giant room, two huge televisions, king bed, and even adjoining rooms if needed. All this and breakfast from a fantastic price too. Simply amazing base for our first St. Augistine visit.

Margie R.

Yelp
A good value. Clean. Helpful staff. Nice breakfast & great coffee. Consider this place.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay at the Jaybird's Inn. I got the recommendation from Yelpers, and I made my reservation on Booking.com. They attempted to call a few days before to confirm my reservation, but they didn't leave a message. I called them back (just in case), and everything was fine. I was only there in the evening to sleep, so I can't comment on anything but that. LOCATION: It's located 1.7 miles from the heart of St. Augustine's historic district (I.e. Flagler College). It wasn't hard to get there, and I Ubered most of the time. They said it was okay for me to leave my car there. It's located near some train tracks, so as some Yelpers said, you'll hear the horn until around 11 PM and beginning at 7 AM. I'm not a late sleeper, so that didn't bother me. If it does, bring some ear plugs. Also, this is not too far from a main road, so you will hear some traffic at night. No big deal to me. THE ROOM: I stayed in a room across from the restaurant. They were nice and renovated. My room was a bit warm/humid, but I ended up turning on the AC and that solved the problem. The rooms were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. For the price, you're getting a great value. I didn't have any issues with getting hot water within 15 seconds. They have a lot of amenities, such as a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. SERVICE: The front desk was very helpful. Everyone was nice. There's breakfast included. I was able to watch Netflix on the wifi, just make sure you are connected to the wifi that has a stronger connection to where you're located. I'd probably stay here again.

Yamilet A.

Yelp
Well this hotel Jaybirds in San Augustine, is 3 stars but I think it should be 0 stars, it's sooooooooo dirty , the staff are very unprofessional, cool water, if you ask for towel just forget it , because they don't have more left , breakfast well it's breakfast I didn't like it , so if you want to relax after museums Jaybird's is not your hotel , the picture you see in their profile just forget it because is nothing like that .

Dorcas S.

Yelp
Reading the reviews it seemed like a good choice for a one night stay but my dear reader You get what you pay for has never been truer This is nothing more then a seedy motel Your college dorm room had better furniture Shower in bathroom full of rust and mold how did I end up here oh yes Priceline where you can not get a refund Do not fall for reviews that state it is newly renovated and clean it is anything but that...

David F.

Yelp
If I could leave a Zero star review for the Scragler Inn, I would. However, I can't, so they lucked out with a 1-Star review! I'm not even going to waste my correct grammar on this review. let's start with we booked a room online, got to the hotel and it was locked with a sign that said call or knock. We originally got room 106, but it smelled like someone had just smoked a pack of Marlboro Reds in there so I went to the front and asked, "Do you have any rooms that DON'T smell like smoke?". He gave us 208. should have kept 106. I am 100% honest here when I say I don't believe that they washed the sheets or pillow cases or even cleaned the room after the last guest(S) stayed here. There are hairs & stains, dog kibble behind the bathroom door, black mold on the walls, mold in the air--wouldn't give us our money back to go somewhere else, so We just left and let them keep the $. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

Todd G.

Yelp
While I wasn't expecting the Ritz or the Plaza Hotel, many online reviews led me to believe this hotel was well worth the price, from the staff to the rooms. I have never felt more like I was pushed into a bait-and-switch situation. First and foremost, the front desk staff was rude and couldn't be bothered to answer questions or begin the check-in process. Although this left a bad taste in my mouth I pushed it aside with hopes it was an isolated incident and my experience with the room and the rest of the trip would redeem this poor experience. Boy was I wrong. I have listed below the red flags that will keep me from EVER visiting this hotel again: * Front desk staff rude, unwilling to answer questions. * Parking lot dirty. * Room beyond outdated and filthy. o Bed sheets had both semen and blood stains on them. Wall behind bed was sticky and stained. * Dust, dirt and grime in bathroom and vanity area. * Sofa was stained, dirty, with a strong odor. * Door to hotel room warped, leaving huge gap between door and door frame, allowing light to come in. It is my hope this hotel will do what's right and refund the money I spent, but given how I was treated upon arrival, I'm not holding out hope. I will never recommend this hotel to family and friends and will post my review on all reputable review sites.

Yelp
I came back to this hotel this year after staying the first time I came to st augustine for my annual trip. The first time I stayed here it was magical. This time was so bad that it was actually ridiculous. Coming in to check in was easy and the girl at the front desk was so sweet. She was the best part of the hotel. I regret that I didn't get her name but they don't deserve to have her there. The first room we were put in had one of the hinges in the bathroom door broken and coming away from the wall. The Girl was so sweet and because the maintenance man wasn't there she switched our room. The second room was perfect. Very pretty and nothing wrong. So then as the days went by I stayed for 4 nights. No one came to clean the room, no sweeping, no sheet changes, no toilet paper, no towels, nothing. No housekeeping what's so ever. So we called the front for toilet paper and the number we were given wasn't correct. So my mother went down to ask for toilet paper. She was met with a different girl that was extremely rude. She rolled her eyes at her, gave her attitude, before my mom could finish asking for toilet paper she turned away from her grabbed the toilet paper and put it on the counter. My mom said thank you and she said nothing. The day of check out the same girl was at the breakfast area giving my mom and grandma dirty looks. They said good morning to her and she just looked at them. The extra blanket we had was dirty and had giant holes all over it. I will not be returning here nor telling people to stay here. Disappointing stay after being sooo happy with my first stay.

Perri C.

Yelp
We booked this off of hot wire. The pictures lied. The place was old, outdated, and our room stunk. And there's no way it was Covid cleaned. And it wasn't cheap. Some guys come in next door stand outside smoking and drinking around 1 am. It was a classy place. You may want to pass this one on by.

Yelp
Jaybirds has officially made it on my "1 star" list. Everything from check-in to check-out was a pain in my rear! The young lady that checked us in was not helpful in any way and it seemed like I was just taking up her time as if she had something better to be doing than assisting a customer. More than 1/2 of the parking lot was taped off/closed for reasons that we couldn't immediately uncover so that made parking quite the challenge. The spots filled up rather quickly. On to the room... Definitely left something to be desired. Given it was under $100/night but certain things are intolerable from any hotel. From an AC unit that dumped water on our already disgusting and un-mopped floor the whole time -- to hairs in the sheets/pillows -- shower head didn't work correctly -- the coffee pot was not cleaned in what looked like about six months -- I could keep going but I will spare you. When we checked out the incredible rude young lady with some kind of island accent and glasses, treated me like I was bothering her! Once checked out I asked for a manager to speak with and they informed me that there was no management present... on a Wednesday morning at 10am... yeah right. She just gave me a business card and said "call and complain if you'd like!" I was shocked. I asked for her name and she just stood there with a crooked smile and plain out refused to give it to me. The ladies in this hotel need an attitude check, pronto! Also, they need name badges! What kind of dump doesn't even give their employees uniforms? I can't stress enough what a sh** show this place is. I will not be returning and no one that I know will ever step foot in here, or their restaurant for that matter, while in St. Augustine!

Yelp
Where do we start? Booking.com describes this place as a historic boutique hotel and that could not be further from the truth. I had to sign an acknowledgment that the property was smoke free yet there are ash trays outside of every room. When we went to sleep around 10:30 it was a full drink fest in the halls and parking lot. Our room smelled like the ashtrays all night long. Another disappointment was the comfort and cleanliness of the bed and bedding. The pillow cases and sheets had stains on them and mattress felt like it was from 1980. Needless to say we will not be coming back.

Yelp
Pros: the staff was very friendly and helped us get to our touristy destinations with much grace. Cons: the toilet was it bolted to the ground; it's good that neither of us got drunk, we may have broken the toilet trying to take a poo. The bed had no headboard and was not bolted to the wall; every morning we woke up about a foot from the wall with our pillows on the floor. All the pillows in the hotel were so tiny that we ended up buying some at Walmart. Super cons: finally, the art. These hideous vulture pictures hung on the wall and watched our every move. We had to cover one of them with a Walmart bag to keep our sanity.

Yelp
This was room 103, beware of this room unless they've fixed the issues of this particular room. I arrived late around 10-11pm driving from South Florida, I honestly don't know how I picked this place - the reviews were good so I thought I was getting a decent deal? But this turned out to be a nightmare, I couldn't get a lick of sleep and I really didn't feel like paying more money to find another hotel, as the Jaybird Inn already charged me for this night. This was the worst stay of my entire life. I've traveled around the world and stayed in hundreds/dozens of hotels. I've stayed in motel 6's when I was a teen that were better than this place. The refrigerator in my room made a constant ringing sound which never stopped. It was like a constant ringing in my ear and my partner's ear. She ended up stacking pillows on her head to get to bed. The toilet in this room was broken, it couldn't flush properly. I figured out that the filling mechanism was shot and you had to press up on the lever to get water to fill into the basin. I reported this to the hotel staff but they couldn't get me another room and I had to deal with a non-functioning, constant draining toilet all night. I ended up just shutting the bathroom door so at least that would drown out the toilet noise. The A/C in my room was broken, kept making some whirling noise, than a whining noise, than a rattling noise. We couldn't turn it off because our room was hot and humid so it was either sleep in humidity or deal with the noise. I reported my issues twice to the front desk, someone came over but she couldn't help at all. I didn't have a manager I could speak to, so I was SOL. There's also a train track near the hotel strip, but I knew about this so I expected the trains to be honking at 7am. I guess the room was clean? Everything else about my stay was absolutely terrible.

Yelp
We stayed here 2 times & it is/was perfect. CLEAN comfy & all around great folks work here. Every employee had a smile & just seemed happy. Not the usual grumbling from workers. Small problem like a light was out was attended to ASAP. Front desk dealings are so nice & greeted with a smile. My wife wants to 'get away for a few days'. We looked at other hotels/motels. But she's going back to stay at the Jaybird. The $5 off or free breakfast is great. I suggest taking advantage of the $5 off & have a wonderful start to your day. Even though the complimentary was fresh & good. I'm kinda lazy in the AM. Management takes a real concern that everything is as should be. They truly understand what it is to be a great hotelier, Can you tell that we're happy we found & like this place? Lou & Eva Karen

Yelp
This little hotel is a pretty good deal. Easy access to downtown; the garage is about an 8 minute drive with heavy traffic. It is much cheaper to stay here at $98 (after all taxes, etc) and pay the $15 parking versus a $150/night hotel that you have to fight for parking every evening The room was SUPER clean. Updated throughout; clean tile, well stocked room with plenty of towels and other personal items. AC was as cold as my mother in laws heart...that's cold AF too. Hah! Speaking of clean. I walked around in white socks whole in the room; my socks remained clean. Tile in a hotel room is a no brainer. No nasty smells, or old bodily fluids from the previous nightly tenants to worry about. A HUGE plus for those with allergies as well. The negative. And I mean a massive-I-may-re-think-staying-here-again negative was the noise. Holy Jesus. The rail road mainline is about 500' from this place. All. night. Long there were trains. From freight trains to the 3 am polar express that makes you cuss like a farmer. I had to take away 2 stars for that. Windows are paper thin, people waking at night rainy sounds like they are right in your room. Just a note, my room was on the North side. The staff was ultra friendly from the front desk staff to the folks cleaning the rooms. Very impressive. Maybe if we stay on the south side next time the train noise won't be so bad.

Yelp
The room was very hot and not cleaned properly. It had an intense mold smell and the bedspread had multiple burn holes. Immediately checked out.

Yelp
Any time I can enjoy a sound sleep while away from home goes a long way towards making me think favorably of the place where I am staying. And a good night's sleep is exactly what I enjoyed here. Jaybird's Inn is a moderately priced, conveniently located and all-around solid place to stay while in the St. Augustine area. Perched along the busy multi-lane Ponce de Leon Blvd., it might be wise to request a room far away from the heavy traffic. It helped alleviate some of the sound from the surroundings. A nice neighborhood and another commercial strip is just behind this inn so there are lovely places to stroll and run nearby. Nice not to be locked and blocked in by a network of high speed highways. The inn has bikes or you can bring your own which might be the best way to really get around this somewhat compact city. I saw a good number of folks leisurely cycling which suggests the area may be more bike-friendly then most. I liked the overall look of the room which featured flooring rather than carpeting, lots of lights, a good size desk with comfortable chairs, a coffee maker, microwave and mini-frig, spacious shower and a stylish color scheme. The room charge includes a continental breakfast which was basic but quite adequate with baked goods, yogurt, make-your-own waffles, cereal, oatmeal, coffee and juice. There is a lovely pool area and even a fitness room with some weights, bands, stability balls etc. on site. This would seem like a great place for people who don't need room service or a lot of luxury but want a comfortable, contemporary place to stay that can be the perfect hub for a day of sightseeing, outlet shopping and taking day trips to the beach. Big plus and points for the quantity and quality of the bathroom towels that were thick and plentiful.

Yelp
Hotel should be rated one or two stars. Room was definitely not clean when we arrived. Shower was full of hair and toilet had urine all over it. Can't be sure but don't think sheets were not changed due to the smell of them. Also pull out bed did not have necessary blankets, sheets etc so we had the front desk which said they didn't have enough finally track some down. I will not be coming back.

Yelp
Three stars for this St. Augustine motel in the middle of a name change and renovations. This place was previously named the Jaybird, but is now the Flagler Inn. The first room we were checked into had a broken AC unit, and when I went to call down to the desk, I discovered that the phone was also dead. The front desk staff was very friendly and changed our room quickly. Our new room was better, except that the TV was terribly fuzzy. Instead of bothering the desk I just jiggled the cords until the reception improved (just like the old days!). The room was fairly clean and our stay was decent. This motel is located at a busy intersection, so there is a fair amount of noise. I didn't find the free breakfast to be as great as others. It was just the usual muffins and cereal. It's hard to find a deal on a place to stay in St. Augustine, so for under $100 and no bug issues, we'll count this as a win.

Yelp
The air conditioning in our room did not work and there is black mold on the vent- I called the front desk and she said she couldn't send anyone until the morning and she couldn't refund our money because there was no manager and she couldn't move us to another room because they were sold out - so we have to sleep in a hot room and breathe in black mold all night- not good. They did end up refunding our money so that was good.

Yelp
PLEASE consider our experience BEFORE booking! The 1 star is generous, but I feel Manager Brandy, the house-keeping crew led by Karen, the lovely Caribbean lady & the tidy, comfortable accommodations were worth some positive review. About me: I manage workers & care for hundreds of thousands of individuals, families & businesses every year in one of the top tourism locations in the world, started as a housekeeper, now manage multiple homes & workers yet I have NEVER been so appalled by a situation... The golden rule of customer service is the customer is always right. Even when they aren't. We traveled 5 hours to this destination. With our entire 44 person wedding party filling 20 rooms total. In excited spirits, we arrived about 2:30pm on Thanksgiving Day. Some of our party was immediately checked in, honored by manager Brandy for early check in. A few of us were asked to wait, as the house keepers were still finishing up. At 3pm, Brandy was scheduled to leave. However, before she did, she spent an extra 20 minutes making sure that we were on our way to be set up. She is an example of good customer service. Once she left, it all went south. The new manager was Danielle & her cashier Shareena. These 2 don't seem to realize that they are in the customer service industry. Hospitality means service. Customers pay the bills. Have you ever spoken to someone that disrespects you right to your face in a manner that clearly indicates they feel that they are superior to you & you're a complete inconvenience of time to them? This is Shareena. My veteran boyfriend asked for water. She ignored him. We checked back on room status after other guests had come & gone & her non-verbal communication was repulsive. She rolled her eyes, turned her back, was curt & rude beyond anything I've ever experienced before. The status of the room was delayed. No problem for us, we can wait, as we get it. Things happen. Check back in 20 minutes? No problem. So we sat in the lobby. In 20 minutes, again we checked back. Shareena scoffed. It JUST turned 3:20pm she rudely announced. At this point I believe Danielle offered us another room. We appreciated the gesture, but declined, as we wanted to be next to the bride & groom plus the rest of our party. We keep checking back, waiting in line each time & trying to be respectful to the other guests coming in. Each time these 2 ladies increasingly got ruder & more disrespectful, even in front of the other incoming guests not associated with our party. I'm sad that other guests were effected by this experience. Not once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience. Not once did either of them suggest we go hang out with our party & that they could call us when the room was ready. We check back again around 3:40pm. At this point we were tired of being told 'a couple more minutes.' Our party coordinator sees the cleaners finish our room. Shareena radios Karen, the head housekeeper to ask the status of our room. Karen comes in, clears our status, so we are good to go now right? Wrong. Shareena tells us in a very condescending tone that.... The floor has to dry. It's a tile floor! They use steamers so it takes seconds to dry & Karen just came up & confirmed we are good. My boyfriend requests the other room that were offered previously. Danielle announces to him in front of the entire crowd of people now lining up to check in that they are now FULLY booked. In less than an hour; you booked up? At this point he looks at Shareena point blank, what time is check in? "3..." And what time is it now? Well.... Check-in is range from 3 - 5. At this point we are livid. I requested their names to report to the owner & one rudely yelled "CAN I SPELL THAT FOR YOU?" It's apparent to me that neither knows how to take accountability, handle a situation professionally or apologize. We step away, not wanting to create a bigger problem & contact the party coordinator to let them know that we will be late for dinner . She calls the front desk. Danielle answers. Danielle HANGS UP on her! Again in front of many other customers. The coordinator comes into the lobby. I believe the time was about 3:50pm. At this point, Danielle gives excuses & lies. WARNING: apparently in the state of Florida, if someone feels uncomfortable they can claim assault. Danielle clearly knows this. After I marched across the lobby to yell at her to stop lying & to take accountability she states that she "feels unsafe" with us in the hotel & threatens to call the police. I NEVER cursed, I didn't mutter any derogatory names, threaten or touch anyone. And yet, she claims I have assaulted her! I wonder how often she manipulates that law to her advantage. Yelp limits the number of words, so I will share the rest of our story on BBB. The owner & GM also took no accountability for the poor customer service. I find this entire establishment & management saddening... We will be back St A; but NEVER to Jaybirds Inn...

Yelp
Best hotel I've stayed at in a while. Clean newly remodeled rooms, decent breakfast, and very friendly hotel staff. Staying here again in a few months for sure!!

Yelp
So this place was eh. No hot water, newly renovated but already starting to get trashed, not ideal. The price was very reasonable and if you were expecting it to be like a motel, it is right for you. I don't think I would ever stay here again, but it wasn't to the point where it ruined my trip or anything like that.

Yelp
I thought the place was perfect from start to finish. Nice, clean room comes with free breakfast. Not a bagel but a full buffet. They even have 2 chairs and a table outside each door to sit outside. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Me and my girl stayed here for my birthday weekend. We'd done quite a bit of research on here and other sites. Overall this hotel is convenient to the downtown area while not being in the heart of downtown. The room was large, clean and the AC blew really cold (always a plus). The front desk staff were very friendly and attentive. They also have their own restaurant, and since we were staying there, they gave us $5 off coupons for each of us, each day to eat. We had breakfast there three days in a row, and was excellent. So, why only 4 out of 5 on the rater? First, while the hotel is convenient and inexpensive, in is VERY close to the railway. The hotel is on an intersection, and what do trains do at intersections? Blow their horns... and it doesn't matter a what time. We were woken up at all kinds of odd hours by the trains. In one instance both myself and my girl could literally feel the room shake. Second issue, Which is less a fault of the hotel but it's still detracted from the experience, was some of the other tenants there. There was a few unsavory types hanging out smoking dope, yelling and drinking in front of their hotel rooms which we were not a real fan of. Being that the hotel is not super expensive I can understand that. Fortunately we were not spending a lot of time at the hotel so it didn't bother us too much. Overall good experience, I just wish it was not near the train tracks.

Yelp
2021 great weekly rates front desk services are same as 5star hotel house keeping wounderful bag breakfast due to covid19 would defiantly recommend

Yelp
Spent the night here while in town exploring St. Augustine. The outside isn't appealing to the eye but the rooms are very contemporary. Pretty nice staff working in the lobby, however quiet and reserved, not overly friendly or talkative. Free coffee in the lobby 24/7 (I think) and complimentary breakfast until 10 AM. The price was $130, probably too pricey for what its worth. The pool area looked small but a nice spot to hang by. Already booked a room to stay here again in November.

Yelp
This place is extremely uncomfortable and unwelcoming. No hot water, broke air conditioner, noisy (and those are the good points). This place is extremely cigarette smoker friendly. It is disgusting! You have to walk through clouds of smoke to get around. I stayed in room 101, which is the room right outside the main lobby. The area in front of my room was a smoking area for the whole hotel. When I opened the room to the door, I would have to walk through clouds of smoke. I was shocked when the front desk called and said someone complained we were smoking in the room. I was even more shocked when the desk clerk came and "searched" our room for smoke, based on a false complaint. It felt like a violation of my fourth amendment rights. It felt like we were targeted and made us very uncomfortable. We felt we were being watched. The same night, people were fighting, keying cars in the parking lot right in front of our rooms, and being arrested. We wanted to check out, but could not reach the manager or owner during our stay to request a refund or different room after many attempts, including an email. My family made the best of a bad situation, but I suggest staying elsewhere. This is the worst place I have ever stayed.

Yelp
Place is good but online we reserved for $250 for 2 nights and when getting here after fees and don't know exactly what else there's a charge of $290, that's $40 more!! Can't cancel because me and wife aren't going to trouble finding something else once we got here but not coming back truly.
