Great food, great service and a great nights sleep. Perfect! ||Sam met us when we arrived, he’s a ray of sunshine. Made us feel very welcome. ||Cocktails buy one and get one on them from 5 to 7. They started our night off, they were delicious and great value for money. We both had pie and mash, 2 meals for £25. They were delicious too. ||Finn tried to sort our tv internet problem but couldn’t resolve it. Straight away he was apologetic. He offered us breakfast in the morning to make up for it. Breakfast was delicious too. ||We are already looking to come back soon.

Hotel located on the village/town green and we arrived with the hotel bathed in evening sunshine. Great atmosphere at the hotel. Very friendly and efficient staff. Evening meal was good quality and good menu choice. Breakfasts were similar standard and good amounts. Room was spacious overlooking the Green and bed and pillows were very comfortable. A good night's sleep. Hotel in a good location for striking out to Oxford to the east and The Cotswolds in the west. I'd recommend to anyone who is looking for an unpretentious hotel in that area.

If I could give a rating of zero I would, Sunday roast a bitter disappointment meat tasted like it had been cooked and reheated roast potatoes deep fried by the looks and texture of them.we were advised this place was a lovely pub restaurant to enjoy a Sunday roast. The Head chef should be embarrassed by what he/she served up. No Qualified/passionate cook would be proud of the shambles that was delivered to our table.

We stayed with 3 friends and so booked 3 rooms. We were welcomed by very friendly staff. All the rooms had their own character. The bed was very comfortable and our room included a large sofa and flat screen tv. A kettle was included with various beverages and bottled water. Liquid soap and hand cream were included with large white towels in the bathroom. Also included was a hairdryer, ironing board, and iron. All in all, it was a lovely stay.

A group of approximately 40 of us ate at The Fleece on Saturday evening. We were all extremely impressed at the great service, the quality of the of the food for such a large group, how the service was coordinated and how accommodating the team were, for example keeping food warm for people running late. Big thanks to all at The Fleece, particular mentions for Joe and Dayton. Hope to return and already spreading the word

Lovely weekend stay at the hotel. We had dinner downstairs in the restaurant both nights and it was wonderful food both times with great service. Hotel room was comfortable, warm and clean. Would have been nice to have a mini fridge but enjoyed the tea and biscuits in the room for us. Our room was looking out on the green and I was concerned about noise but it was very quiet at night and we slept well.

We had a meal here for a family birthday party. The private room we had was nice, clean and ideal for a private party. The food was very nice, as mentioned by all. Overall, the experience was good. However, it was a shame that we received a phone call after we left to say that roughly £45 was still owed, although we had paid a large amount up front days before which covered 90% of the people attending. This meant that only 2 couples were left to pay their bill at the end of the meal, which they paid happily. When we asked what the £45 was for, so we could work out the issue/who hadn't paid, we were told a manager would contact us to explain this. A day or so later we were then told it was roughly £25 owed. We again, said we are happy to pay if it is something we have missed but we would like to know what the £25 was for as we paid for drinks at the bar as we ordered on the day, therefore, it couldn't be drinks. We were told this information could not be given to us. As explained to the Fleece we are more than happy to pay money if there has been a mistake our end, but to be told they cannot divulge what the money was for, is poor. Furthermore, a waitress spilled gravy over one of our party, dropped several glasses that smashed, didn't light the candles on the birthday cake, so we did and then she dropped several plates of cutlery also. We understand that accidents happen and overall the waitress in question was very friendly. A family member was also met with quite a rude member of staff, when she said she was not happy to pay the service charge, taken the above into account, she felt intimidated so then agreed to pay it. We have now paid the £25 owed out of common decency but we feel its a shame that it could not be relayed to us what the £25 was for and we do find it odd that the total had changed in the space of a day, albeit a cheaper price. It is a shame that this happened as it has put a negative spin on what was overall a nice experience.

Yelp
The place is popular and festive. The appetizer was interesting with sweet sauce to go with terrine. The main focus on the duck with lots of mashed potatoes. The cheese dessert offers various flavors. The host was friendly and provided helpful suggestions.

Yelp
Enjoyed the lamb chops with potatoes. Pretty tasty. Pricing was ok and portions seemed about right size. Friendly service but a bit slow, although I think that's more of a cultural pace for the region. Overall - good.

Yelp
The Fleece likes think of itself as Witney's premier eating establishment, and indeed it does have a lot to offer... The food is thoughtful, tasty and well delivered. Is it anything extraordinary though? Well no, not really. The attitude in the Fleece borders on pretentious, but you kind of get the feeling this is the reason locals love it so much - It is a little bit of snobbery and exclusiveness in a town where such attributes are few and far between. As a result, it tends to be fairly hard to get a table in the evening, especially if you are just a walk in. Seating also feels a little overcrowded and not particularly well organised. The Fleece is best visited on a sunny afternoon for a glass of wine or two, or on a colder day- a nice cup of coffee, and a selection of nibbles from the deli board.

Yelp
Every time I have been to the fleece service has been good, like others have said getting a walk in table can be a pain,so always worth booking in advance. Food is lovely and service good. As a mum I often feel a bit out of place going in the day for a nice quiet coffee, with people on their computers giving me funny looks:-( Even though my daughter is well behaved:-(
