Took visiting friends for Sunday lunch. It’s been a while since I’ve been in a to eat but this was a great experience. Served by Jess from NZ who was just fantastic. Her enthusiasm and warmth when saying hello and talking us through the special board, was a great start to the meal. We all remarked that it was so refreshing to experience such great energy. Food was delicious and the simple but very welcome touch of coming around with more veg and Yorkshires was really appreciated. A lovely Team, good food and friendly atmosphere made for an excellent meal experience.

What a find! Met friends in Witney and visited the Blanket Hall before dining late afternoon in The Fleece. All of our meals were excellent. I had Padron Peppers followed by Pheasant and to finish I had a Sticky Toffee Pudding. Excellent menu, good wine and lovely staff. Would love to visit again and maybe stay,as they have rooms .

I took my husband to The Fleece in Witney for lunch on his birthday. Everything was perfect - the food, prosecco, ambience and service. Topped off with 2 delicious desserts, explained in full. Both of the managers were very friendly and attentive. We will be going back soon.

Me and my sister came in for dinner and had a lovely meal before she goes off to uni! Shefia was fabulous and gave great service throughout the evening. We enjoyed a beautiful selection of small plates and drinks! Will definitely be back again soon.

We came here the first time back in 2022. It was a place chosen by our friends for a meet, somewhere in the middle, between our homes. It was good back then and is still good now. This was a great find. The food is very good and the location is simply delightful. There are good gluten-free options on the menu, although they can't guarantee 100%... but we had no issues. The kids had a burger and a mac and cheese. We had roast beef, and because we couldn't have the Yorkshire pudding, they gave us extra vegetables. Needless to say, it was filling. The roast beef was very good.

Came here with good friends for my birthday meal, great service, staff very attentive and knowledgeable when asked questions about the source of the meats ! |I myself didn’t have a starter but others did, I dont usually eat fish but after sampling the (Monkfish Scampi, Rocket,Tartare and Lemon) instantly I’m a convert ….. it was so fresh meaty and delicious. |the lamb from the specials board which my husband had said it was the best he’d had… (Lamb Pave, Pomme Puree, Charred Cabbage, Miso Butter & Red Wine Jus) absolutely outstanding ! |Our whole party commented on their wonderful food. ||Can’t wait to book again asap 😌|Thank you for making our evening memorable and belly’s full ! |Well done 👏

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. On arrival the staff continued chatting amongst themselves and didn’t acknowledge us for some time. We were then shown to our table with little more than a vague gesture, which set a poor tone. ||Service was very slow. Slow enough that we skipped dessert because we couldn’t wait any longer. Once seated, the waitresses serving our table were polite and efficient, but the initial indifference had already put a dampener on the meal.|Starters and mains were nicely presented and tasted fine, just nothing memorable or distinctive. ||Overall a disappointing experience and I wouldn’t return or recommend based on this visit.

The Fleece is a beautiful building which boasts stunning views over Witney’s Church Green. The decor is warm and cosy and the food is delicious but I am writing to praise the service delivered by the staff. ||We were served by Fia who kindly advised us on which dishes on the menu would suit our preferences. Fia was incredibly kind and friendly making us feel welcome. ||So when you next want to dine out in Witney. Why not go to The Fleece ?

Yelp
The place is popular and festive. The appetizer was interesting with sweet sauce to go with terrine. The main focus on the duck with lots of mashed potatoes. The cheese dessert offers various flavors. The host was friendly and provided helpful suggestions.

Yelp
Enjoyed the lamb chops with potatoes. Pretty tasty. Pricing was ok and portions seemed about right size. Friendly service but a bit slow, although I think that's more of a cultural pace for the region. Overall - good.

Yelp
The Fleece likes think of itself as Witney's premier eating establishment, and indeed it does have a lot to offer... The food is thoughtful, tasty and well delivered. Is it anything extraordinary though? Well no, not really. The attitude in the Fleece borders on pretentious, but you kind of get the feeling this is the reason locals love it so much - It is a little bit of snobbery and exclusiveness in a town where such attributes are few and far between. As a result, it tends to be fairly hard to get a table in the evening, especially if you are just a walk in. Seating also feels a little overcrowded and not particularly well organised. The Fleece is best visited on a sunny afternoon for a glass of wine or two, or on a colder day- a nice cup of coffee, and a selection of nibbles from the deli board.

Yelp
Every time I have been to the fleece service has been good, like others have said getting a walk in table can be a pain,so always worth booking in advance. Food is lovely and service good. As a mum I often feel a bit out of place going in the day for a nice quiet coffee, with people on their computers giving me funny looks:-( Even though my daughter is well behaved:-(
