We initially planned to celebrate our 25th anniversary at Flodigarry Hotel, but COVID-19 forced us to postpone. We rebooked for our 30th, only to discover the hotel had been sold and was under new management. From the outset, communication from the new management was slow and almost non-existent, which we tried to understand given the renovations and winter months.||Upon arrival, the hotel itself was beautiful, and the location incredible. The decor perfectly fit the hotel's personality, and our room was large and comfy. Enjoying drinks on the patio overlooking the water was a perfectly relaxing start to the evening.||However, dinner was a significant disappointment, especially considering the price and the hotel's reputation. The food was mediocre, and the service was extremely slow. We had to ask for water multiple times, and it took almost 40 minutes to arrive. Staff members were unfamiliar with the menu, particularly regarding gluten-free options. While the dining room was cozy, the lack of background music meant our anniversary dinner was soundtracked by two very loud babies/toddlers. This was hardly the celebratory meal we had hoped for.||Beyond the bartenders, the staff generally seemed aloof and not very friendly or welcoming. It's truly a shame, as the hotel's beauty, views, and location are absolutely A+.||On a side note, the cast iron bathtub is very high, slippery, and difficult to get into for a shower, a hazard that left me with a bruise. Overall, while the setting is stunning, the service and dining experience fell far short of expectations for such a special occasion.
