Only one lady that had any idea of what she’s doing, slow service even though quiet. Hot Chocolate was very weak, latte not very nice. Not a great experience

A little disappointed, hopefully a one off bad day - there were several complaints re slow service of meals for other guests, mix ups with food orders and our order came without crisps and salad garnish, which whilst not the end of the world isn't what was advertised. We didn't complain as staff seemed overwhelmed as it was. Hope they can rally as it used to be really nice for gluten free options and a good place to visit.

£25 for 2 breakfasts that were clearly cooked from frozen, that didn't match the menu. Two fried eggs cooked differently on the same plate 🤔 Server struggled to understand me, and there was long wait for the food, despite it being a quiet Sunday morning. Partner enjoyed her cappuccino, my americano was very bitter, probably cause of the saltiness of my bacon... Maybe I went at the wrong time because the other reviews suggested it would be a nice place to go.

Very disappointing experience. My wife's Sausage in a bun was served cold, my Panini was OK but had far too much Pesto in it. The iced Lime Tea was, however, very good. Nothing was bad enough to complain about - but nothing, foodwise, was particularly good. The service was frankly shambolic and nobody seemed to know what was going on. It was all rather Fawlty Towers. It was the first place we tried in Ashbourne and we didnt return. Perhaps the staff should visit the nearby Cafe Impromptu to see how things should be done! I'm sorry to be harsh - but something is VERY wrong here!

I haven't visited every coffee shop in Ashbourne, but I can guarantee this is an absolute banger. A lovely team running the place. Very friendly, very accommodating. It was no problem for them to charge my laptop whilst I was working. Coffee and food was great. So good, I brought a party of ten back the next day.

Place has a very nice ambience. Very friendly staff. Veg full breakfast was ohkish but English breakfast is great. Blood sausage in particular are very tasty.

We called in the Flower Cup cafe this afternoon. We were caught in a thunderstorm, and even though they were closed, they let us in for a coffee with our dogs. What a great welcome to Ashbourne. 🙂

Yelp
On a rainy Sunday morning in Ashbourne we happened upon the Flower Cafe. Cloaked in condensation on the windows due to the feverish cooking of breakfasts in the kitchen area to the back of the cafe, this place had a good atmosphere. A selection of different sized tables named after flowers - Poppy, Violet etc, were suitable for different sized parties. The menu was varied and very reasonably priced, from beans on toast to paninis, homemade cakes to breakfasts for the larger or smaller appetite. The breakfasts were cooked to order and looked extremely appetising, with a basket of toast. A good variety of drinks too, including a flavoursome Cappuccino and a very chocolatey Hot Chocolate! They also sold Ice Cream too, Lemon Meringue and Sticky Toffee amongst the flavours. The Flower Cafe also sells plants, offers a garden design service and has themed evenings like 'Pudding Night' - whose menu looked very tempting!
