Just visited this little cafe and was pleasantly surprised. Paul was very welcoming, kind and attentive. Ouang made us a delicious breakfast despite breakfast time being over - sausages were tasty, eggs were golden and cooked to perfection, hash browns were good, and I’d never had a oatcake before so that was delicious. I’m surprised by these bad reviews because we were v pleased! Thank you :-)

We stopped here for breakfast as a family of 3 and were greeted so warmly. Husband ordered a full English which he declared was amazing and we also ordered 2 x sausage and bacon sandwiches which were also lovely. We will definitely come here again and highly recommend.

I didn't want to post this somewhat negative review but I'm doing so to hopefully help the Cafe and also warn potential customers that the service here is not exactly 'swift'! We arrived at 1.45pm and my 30 minute roadside car park time was up at 1.50pm. I informed the owner (who was sat staring at his laptop) of the situation- that we didn't want to get a parking ticket! All we wanted was a quick take away coffee. I also ordered a leek and potato soup and the owner said it would take a few minutes which was fair enough. There was only one other occupied table in the cafe at that time so we didn't expect our coffee to take long. However, we were wrong. After waiting ten minutes I left the cafe and returned to our car outside the cafe in case a parking attendant arrived- while my wife remained inside to await the coffee and soup. Twenty minutes later she came out- Twenty minutes!!! The coffee was very nice, however the leek and potato soup was not. It was bland and tasteless. A carton containing slices of bread came with it together with butter and a wooden spoon but no knife. We therefore had to spread the butter with the spoon! Overall our brief experience in the Flower Cafe was poor which was such a shame as it is such a lovely place. I think the owner should perhaps spend more time interacting with his customers and also perhaps help out in the kitchen/ coffee/ soup department instead of sat staring at his laptop. So disappointing 😔

Brilliant spot in Ashbourne, very helpful staff but unfortunately the man serving was a bit chaotic and seemingly didn't have a clue how to run a cafe, the old lady was lovely and couldn't do enough to help and He just got in the way - send him home and leave her to run the place is my advice . Food was lovely though

Really loved this little café. So accommodating and friendly and the food was great - simple and delicious. And randomly does sandwiches or Vietnamese pho!

Place has a very nice ambience. Very friendly staff. Veg full breakfast was ohkish but English breakfast is great. Blood sausage in particular are very tasty.

Yelp
On a rainy Sunday morning in Ashbourne we happened upon the Flower Cafe. Cloaked in condensation on the windows due to the feverish cooking of breakfasts in the kitchen area to the back of the cafe, this place had a good atmosphere. A selection of different sized tables named after flowers - Poppy, Violet etc, were suitable for different sized parties. The menu was varied and very reasonably priced, from beans on toast to paninis, homemade cakes to breakfasts for the larger or smaller appetite. The breakfasts were cooked to order and looked extremely appetising, with a basket of toast. A good variety of drinks too, including a flavoursome Cappuccino and a very chocolatey Hot Chocolate! They also sold Ice Cream too, Lemon Meringue and Sticky Toffee amongst the flavours. The Flower Cafe also sells plants, offers a garden design service and has themed evenings like 'Pudding Night' - whose menu looked very tempting!
