The Flower Cake Café

The store looks cute visually and the staff is quite nice but I go to a bakery to eat a proper piece of pastry, not necessarily enjoy the decorations. The cupcakes are pretty, but tasted like paper. I get that this type of pastry is mostly about the looks and full of buttercream but that doesn’t defend the fact that the bottom was dry and stale. I asked the lady specifically if they’re fresh and they were not. I could barely taste any vanilla/chocolate in them either. Considering the money spent, the eye candy’s not worth it.

Stopped into The Flower Cake Café and instantly fell for the airy, garden-inspired vibe—fresh blooms, soft colors, and cozy corners perfect for a catch-up. The petal-topped cakes were beautifully crafted, light, and not overly sweet, with a tender sponge and silky cream. Paired with a fragrant pot of tea, it was pure bliss. Staff were warm and attentive, happy to answer questions and help with selections. It’s one of those spots that’s as delicious as it is pretty—ideal for a quiet treat, a small celebration, or just an uplifting mid-day pause. Can’t wait to return for more seasonal flavors and a custom cake!

First time visited the cafe, I love the decorations, very charming, and nostalgic. The cake i ordered for my birthday turned out amazing and exactly what I wanted. Very talented pastry chef, very kind and professional. The cake flavor was red velvet and we all loved it to the last bite.

The staff were very friendly, and the sandwich, matcha cookie, and tiramisu were all homemade and tasted amazing. The coffee, made with De Mello beans, was also really good. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in downtown!

I ordered a set of Dubai choco cookies for Valentine's Day and it's so pretty! No need to question the taste; it's personally my favourite one so far out of others.

Their Dubai chewy cookie is amazing! I’ve tried many Dubai chewy cookie here but this place is the best one!! Must try!

The decor is so beautiful!! Their cakes are equally as beautiful, and taste very sweet. The girl behind the counter helping me was also very kind and helpful! I’d recommend this place to anybody. 😊

Very cute decorations with great service and delicious drinks! All three things I was looking forward to ever since I found this place on social media. It was very quiet when we went and I think more ppl need to check out this place! If you are looking for an aesthetic place to take some pics for your social, you should def check this place out ;)

Such great service! The staff are so friendly, I'm not sure if this was the owner and her children, but it was so refreshing picking up some goodies from here. I was surprised to see a full service cafe with cakes , cookies, sandwiches and beverages that were hot and cold so I picked us a mixed bag of goodies and can't wait to share it with my family!

I really like patronizing small businesses (especially baked goods related) so was excited when I found out that Flower Cake and Cafe is nearby my place. It's a quaint little place that's selling hot/cold drinks and various desserts. I decided to buy various types so I can try them. Vanilla Cupcake Flower - for $7 this cupcake is not worth the price. The cake itself is sweet and the buttercream is so buttery and no flavouring at all. Almond Croissant - the croissant is okay but there is minimal almond filling. Salted Caramel Pecan Dacquoise - I find the dacquoise sweet for my liking and kind of spongy, not hard and crispy. I also didn't taste the salted caramel flavour in the cream. Raspberry Macaron - this macaron is a let down for me. Too much sugar, large air bubbles and uneven, grainy top - you already know you're not eating a good macaron. Overall really disappointed with the food quality here plus the fact that it's on the pricey side. Additional 1 star is for good service otherwise I would only have given 2 .

I used the Too Good to Go app and paid $7 for what was advertised as $21. What I got in my surprise bag added up to $16. Two croissants, one muffin and one tiramisu. Added to approximately $16. The app advertised as $21 value. Just think that this is not very honest. The taste of the croissant and the muffin were ok. Not sure I'll come back here again.

Amy and Julie are just the nicest people ever and they make the most amazing baked goods (the chocolate dacquoise is my favourite) and coffee. The Flower Cake and Cafe has an incredible selection of baked goods - everything from croissants and muffins to macaroons and dacquoise and of course, cupcakes. They also offer sandwiches and a wide variety of coffees and teas. We used to come by quite often when they were open on Saturdays but now that they're only open during the week, it's hard for us because of our work schedules - we try to stop by whenever we get the chance though. I highly recommend The Flower Cake and Cafe to everyone. Five stars.

Two words that best describe this cafe: Cute and cozy. The staff here are extremely friendly. The cafe is so beautiful: they have antique cabinets and comfortable chairs, and there are orchids and tea sets on display which give the place a really homey feel. There are lots and lots of options for baked goods as well as several different options for tea & coffee. They have their famous cupcakes (they're like a piece of art), macarons, tiramisu, cookies, croissants, sandwiches, breakfast options, etc. They also have wifi, and it is an amazing place to meet up with your friends or even have a study session. I tried a double espresso and my husband tried their 16 ounce drip coffee. Both were very good as they were freshly brewed and not too acidic. We also got a flower cupcake ($7.50) which was excellent. The cake was well spiced and had bits of carrot and cranberry, and the icing, although there was a lot of it, was not overly sweet and balanced out well with the cake. It would make for an excellent dessert option for a birthday or special occasion. We will definitely be back to try their breakfast options, other baked goods and coffee very soon!

Love this little cafe. It's really such a hidden gem. The staff are the best and their pastries are beautiful. Great gifts.

We discovered this amazing local bakery that's tucked away at the base of a condo/apartment building in the downtown core. Our faves are the bread pudding (especially yummy when warmed up a bit), chia pudding (it's chia pudding I actually like!), and their specialty which are the dacquoises. These are like macarons but even better! They're slightly chewy and filled with a delicious buttercream. Faves are Earl Grey, butterscotch pecan, chocolate and black sesame. (best eaten after letting them sit for a couple minutes at room temperature, but I get impatient and want to eat them immediately). They are larger than a macaron, and can be shared. My husband likes their mocha lattes. They also have lunch items (sandwiches) which we haven't yet tried, and it's a quaint cozy place with some seating by the windows.

Nice & cozy place to hang out with friends while enjoying delicious desserts. I ordered a box of flower cupcakes to share with my family and we all fell in love! Each of the cupcakes is so beautifully made and would make a great gift! I also liked that it was not too sweet and had just the right amount of sweetness. I highly recommend their flower cupcakes for special occasions!
