We were lucky enough to have Charlotte as our server and she did a phenomenal job! The simple ceasar salad is by far the best I've ever had! The Chop. Yum!

Google
We ate breakfast here twice while on Put-in-Bay. Both meals were excellent. Food was so delicious. Our waitress, Isabelle, was super sweet and personable. We arrived early before leaving for the ferry and they had a place for us to store our luggage while we ate. Definitely put The Forge on your breakfast/brunch 'to do' list.

Google
The Queen Bee coffee was amazing!! The breakfast Sammie was pretty good! Disappointed in the side of bacon (2 small undercooked pieces for $4!). I think the food was all overpriced for portions/quality. But it was a nice atmosphere and good service right in downtown PIB

Google
Me and my two friends came here twice in one day for lunch and dinner, people recommended the forge as the best restaurant on the island with the best food. But to be honest its overpriced for what it is. Both visits our waiter's we’re inattentive and the lunch waiter was rude. Our dinner visit we were sat on the patio and the table was so wobbly that all of our drinks kept spilling all over the ground. One of the rolls of silverware the fork had gunk all over it. The steak isnt worth $55 it’s drenched in sauce.

Google
Wow! This place was amazing! The food was so good. I had the Classic Crepe and my girlfriend had the Donatello Crepe. They were both so good! The espresso drinks were great as well. The atmosphere is fine. Relaxed and bright. Our server was great as well. He was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!

Google
One of the most modern interiors for a restaurant in Put-In-Bay, I really enjoyed dining inside. First server was excellent but, when we returned for the second time, we sat at the bar and the bartender was out of it. Upscale food which is along the lines of what regularly enjoy at our local eateries. If you're looking for a nice meal in the heart of downtown Put-In-Bay, then this is it.

Tony Jeter

Google
Great food. Menu was clearly marked with gluten-free items, and they had gluten-free buns for their burgers. Fries were cooked separately. The service was great.

Google
Food took an hour and fifteen minutes to come to our table. The excuse was that there were other big parties. Side patio and restaurant were almost empty. Got there at 830, didn't eat until 10 pm. I got a chicken sandwich. Fry batter wasn't fried all the way because there was too much of it. Had to scrape all the gummy pastes batter off only to find a very thin piece of chicken. All the fixings were under the chicken making them a hot a cooked texture... gross. Ordered the truffle fries with it, got like 10 fries. Portions was ridiculously small for those items. My friend ordered a smash burger and it was tiny. With 10 or so fries. Restaurant was freezing cold. Not an enjoyable experience.

John R.

Yelp
Food, service excellent. Nice ambiance. Yes, a LITTLE pricey, but the steaks were wonderful. The sides were good, and the crepes were nice enough. Can't expound on the crepes because it was our first time. Anyway, very good. Would probably come back.

Kelly K.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Food delicious!! Drinks were definitely not spared with the alcohol. We appreciate that kind of a pour! It was our first time and it's on our "do again" list for breakfast places.

Sarah B.

Yelp
We ate at the Forge 3 times in one weekend!! Dinner twice and then breakfast. It was amazing. Food, service, sat outside each time. Recommend 100% the Brussels sprouts, garlic fries, salads, bacon wrapped date. All were so very good! I only got a picture of my drink because the food went so fast!

Alex E.

Yelp
Former employee here! This is the worst place I have ever worked for. The owners are holier-than-thou jerks who don't seem to care about their staff. They have cameras throughout the restaurant and sit at home watching them like a reality tv show. Several phone calls a day to the store to nit-pick. They force their employees to be on call multiple nights a week without pay and know that most of their employees have given everything up to be there so they'll take it. Colleen once told me "You are less than me. I am above you." That being said, the food is decent and so is the coffee but there are other places on the island that are more deserving of your money.

Patty Caraballo M.

Yelp
What an awesome place to have breakfast. They utilized the space perfectly with front and side outdoor setting with two bars, one inside and one outside. Plenty of seating and the service was fantastic. Once order was placed, food came out quickly and was so delicious. So many options from crepes to breakfast burritos. Family friendly. Great friendly attentive service. Many vegan options. I got the bowl with vegan sausage. Can hold the eggs to make completely vegan.

Veronica E.

Yelp
Food was great! I got the avocado toast! Drinks are good as well and strong ! Would recommend and come back here.

Tracy C.

Yelp
Amazing food, service, ambiance!!!! Love the unique and delicious menu, the super friendly and always smiling servers, and the coziness of the inviting and beautiful decor, always a great dining experience.

Hall H.

Yelp
We come to Put In Bay once a year and always stop at the Forge. It is not cheap, but you will get what you pay for. The food and service are phenomenal. Abby was a great server.

Ian M.

Yelp
If I could give the forge a six star rating, I would. We went there for Sunday brunch. Big Al took care of us. He was efficient, he was attentive, and the food was cooked to perfection. I also want to point out that unlike some of the other places I rated on Put in Bay, the quality to cost ratio was extremely high. Please see some photographs below. Parking right outside could be a problem so we used the parking lot across the street that has the general store and just purchased some things in the store that we needed.

Paul S.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast, on a sailboat race. Food was great, service was superb... would recommend

Matt J.

Yelp
Nice set up with outdoor and indoor seating. Lots of choices and they also have crepes, along with duck wings.

Alexandria C.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The food was fresh and delicious. The maple syrup was actually maple syrup not Carmel food coloring and high fructose corn syrup. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was great! Our server was Super friendly and did a great job, he genuinely amplified our experience. The Tommy pickle Bloody Mary was the perfect cure to the previous nights shenanigans. They're popular so plan ahead or be prepared to wait. It was totally worth the wait! If you're staying on put -in -bay island try this place out!

Desiree B.

Yelp
YUM! The almond milk latte and mimosa were good. The waffle is good but that cinnamon butter really blows your mind. Scrambled eggs are the best I've ever had. Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly. Service was good, even with them being pretty busy.

Alex L.

Yelp
Back again and this time for brunch - definitely a gem of a spot! I highly recommend the smoked salmon benedict. It was so damn good! And the sweet crepes are delicious. The smoked salmon benedict was one of the best benedicts I've had the pleasure to eat. Both the eggs were perfectly poached and there was a generous amount of salmon on it. It also came with a bit of fresh fruit which was welcome and unexpected. The fruit was so sweet and seasonal; I loved it! The nuttella and banana crepe that I shared with a friend at the end was delightful. Staff were perfect, coffee was constantly refilled and it was an absolutely comfortable place to dine on a Sunday morning! Very much recommend!

Katie F.

Yelp
My friends and I came to the island for a birthday weekend. I was up early adventuring one morning & wanted a cup of coffee. I stopped in for a latte, and when I saw the amazing & comfortable vibe of the place I knew we'd be back for brunch. Turns out we went back twice. Both times we had great service & the food was so professionally put together! You could tell time was taken crafting the menu! The first day I had the Mexican crepe & the pickle Bloody Mary. My husband had the chicken and waffles. We loved all of it! If I had to critique anything it would be that the potatoes needed some ketchup. The next day my husband had chicken & waffles again lol it was that good & I had a Nirvana crepe and the breakfast tacos. It was great to have the option of savory or sweet and you know I had to do both! Honestly, I can't wait til our next trip to the Island to eat at the forge again!

Courtney P.

Yelp
Really good spot for breakfast! Quality food and good portions. Mimosas are only $5!!! They do get Farley crowded so put your name in early and drive around on your golf cart for a little while. Overall great place!

Ron D.

Yelp
Great food & coffee bar- nice patio and indoors dining areas. Ordered with some special tweaks and the chef and our server nailed it. Easy golf cart parking right in front of the building

Catie T.

Yelp
We went for brunch here on a girls trip to PIB. Took a few minutes to be seated but they took us to a cute little back patio. We all ordered drinks and everyone loved theirs! I had the jon burgundy which was soooo delicious! For brunch I decided to get a small side salad and pierogis. The salad was very fresh and they have great ranch!! Pierogis were just okay. I have had much better and ended up wishing I had gotten a panini instead. My friend said her sausage eggs bendict was good and other friend had a salmon kale salad that looked delicious. One friend had the catawba sandwich and like it a lot as well. The decor is very cute and the outdoor bar is really nice! Not their fault but at least this time of year I would maybe recommend inside dining as there were bees everywhere and it was pretty distracting. Overall we had a nice time here and would come back!

Tabatha V.

Yelp
Whoa. I really enjoyed this place. Would go to again. I ent for breakfast. Had bloody Mary's. Breakfast. My husband had the crepe with Salmon. I had eggs Benedict. Pickle bloody Mary's was awesome.

Tabitha W.

Yelp
This place may have the best food on the island! ...Although it doesn't have the best website, so I wasn't able to double-check their menu to see what I ordered. Pretty sure I detailed it all in the YouTube video I posted though!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PlgbT5zS7c. Our drink was good, our crepe was okay, and the fries were perfect!

Trishka S.

Yelp
This place is not living up to the hype at all! Not impressed with the menu nor the food. Save yourself the money and go somewhere else. The food is bland, cold, and overall disappointing portions.

Kayle C.

Yelp
I was excited to see a vegan option but was disappointed when i got there. the portion sizes were tiny. I couldn't believe that i paid 2 or 3 dollars for one piece of toast because it doesn't come with the breakfast items. The vegan hash was good but it was mostly sweet potatoes and overcooked vegan sausage for $15.

Emily C.

Yelp
The staff and service for our breakfast was outstanding. The menu had an amazing selection of drinks, coffees and cocktails. The food selection was also really great--it was hard to pick because everything sounded so good!! My crepe was so good I ordered a second one halfway through breakfast! The restaurant also looks newly remodeled. The Forge was fresh, modern and somewhere I will be soo excited to go back to next time I'm on the island!

Annie S.

Yelp
The Forge is fantastic! The service and food are excellent and I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting the bay! I ate here for breakfast and dinner in one day and the food was delicious. It was so good I had to come back. :) For breakfast I had the breakfast tacos (Yum!) and for dinner I came back and had the prosciutto panini. OMG it was soooo good I loved it. And during dinner they had live music on the patio which just adds to the great ambiance. They also have so many great beers bottled and on draft. Come here for good food, great drinks and a fun time! 5 stars hands down!!

Yelp
Enjoyable, off the beaten path cafe right near the heart of downtown Put-in-Bay. This place is known for their wide variety of crepes and sandwiches. My wife and I decided to get two dishes and share (our favorite restaurant "scheme")...so we ordered the B-rock sliders and the Crazy Sam crepe. On the B-Rock sliders plate were three small beef burgers and a dish of their famous Parmesan truffle oil fries. The burgers were cooked to a nice medium temp and topped with provolone cheese, tomato, romaine lettuce and a small amount of garlic aioli. Very tasty! The fries were completely rock star, and were gobbled up in a hurry. The Crazy Sam crepe was filled with chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo and topped with sriracha cream; we added sliced avocado to ours. Usually you eat a crepe with your hands, but not this version...a fork and knife were more appropriate given its size. The combination of flavors in this crepe were great..how can you go wrong with cheese and bacon over chicken, right? The avocado added additional creaminess to the dish and the spice of the pico and sriracha cream set it off perfectly. So glad we decided to give this restaurant a try, they really nailed it and we totally enjoyed this meal.

Yelp
Carly took excellent care of us. As a fellow vegan, she gave me a heads up of where to eat on the island. The food was incredible for everyone in our party of 6. "Least trashy place on the island." "Very accommodating." "We've been here twice already." (Shout out to Molly as well!)

Savannah J.

Yelp
This was probably the most disappointing restaurant experience I've ever had. Myself and a couple friends stopped in for breakfast and all ordered normal menu items without any changes. After an hour and a half of waiting for our food (while tables around us were served, ate, paid, and left), they brought out the wrong dishes and the food was cold. The waitress never admitted to any mistakes, on her or in the kitchen, and charged us full price for everything :(

Ilda M.

Yelp
The muscles and Caesar salad were good. My husband ordered a burger that was missing the bacon and onion jam and our server brought us our food and never checked on us. We were so hungry he just ate it anyway. So basically he got a $15 plain cheese burger with a piece of arugula and nothing else.

Gretchen S.

Yelp
Their crapes are totally awesome!!!! We got there before they closed for two days!!! They close every Tuesday and Wednesday!

Nish K.

Yelp
Pretty good brunch in Put-in Bay! It was our first time to the island and wanted to grab some food when we reached there and good-old Yelp guided us to this place. They have outdoor seating, allow pets and have some pretty good drinks!! We got the Mojitos and not only were they refreshing but also potent... A good buzz to start your day... They have a good selection of crepes and we were told that they are known for them... We got the "Fancy Pants," which has smoked salmon, arugula, cheese and a poached egg. The crepe was not too thick and the egg was poached to perfection. While I don't like salmon for breakfast, this combination seemed to work and it wasn't too fishy as a morning meal... We also got the prosciutto eggs Benedict. Usually the English muffin on the Benedict is a deciding factor if the meal is going to be good or not: if the muffin is not toasted properly it feels chewy. Not in this case. I enjoyed the Benedict though I wished there was some hollandaise sauce... House potatoes accompanied both dishes, which made the meal sufficient. A place worth visiting if you are in PiB..

Jessica C.

Yelp
Really amazing crepes and potatoes!! Iced coffee was pretty good too but nothing too special there. Service was kinda slow. Took about an hour to get our food

Josh E.

Yelp
Oh Crepe! Is right - the savory and sweet versions are both a hit and we recommend the nirvana - chocolate with sea salt and vanilla ice cream.

Caitie S.

Yelp
This place is a must go for brunch! I was in Put-in-Bay for a bachelorette party weekend (surprising huh?) and I researched where to go for brunch and thankfully this was a recommendation that we went with! Start off with one of their hand crafted drinks. I had the Millie's favorite and I highly recommend it if you like raspberry. You have to finish your brunch with a crepe because that's what they're known for!

Jessica C.

Yelp
Stopped by for a good cup of coffee and a sweet crepe. The building used to be an old blacksmith. The decor was minimalist and industrial. You have the option to sit indoors or out and order coffee to go. I ordered the Nutella mocha and it was delicious. Not too sweet. My husband ordered the gilly (coffee with a shot of espresso). He said the coffee had good flavor and would order again if he wanted a strong kick of caffeine. A great drink to sip while having a good conversation. We ordered the cinnamon and sugar crepe with strawberries. The crepe hit the spot. Not overly sweet and the strawberries added a great texture and flavor. The batter of the crepe is thicker than the traditional. The atmosphere was great and the staff was very kind and attentive. Definitely a place worth visiting.

Bethany D.

Yelp
This place was ranked second for PIB restaurants and they definitely lived up to their ranking! It was a slow Tuesday night so they were able to accommodate our party of 20 very quickly (11 adults and nine kids). We ordered the short rib poutine and it was to die for. French onion soup was decent, but a little short on the cheese portion. Tasty, tho. I had the chicken paprikash and it was delicious. Good portion and chicken was so tender. Husband had the b-rock sliders and said they were very good. Crab cake was good, but needed a little more sauce. Topped off the evening with the raspberry cheesecake crepe and it was out of this world. A definite gem in the downtown PIB area for a good meal that's not all "bar food." Quaint atmosphere and excellent service.

P S.

Yelp
We missed the brunch by a few minutes! But the lunch was good, the vegetarian options were good, they can customize all the items to be veg. The truffle fries were good, we had the tacos which were delish! The sandwiches and wraps were good too! Definitely recommend it!

Nate J.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant, with a garden bar, diverse food and cocktail selections. The staff are very nice and check in on you. Food and drinks were delivered in a very reasonable time. They were openly dog friendly allowing our dog outside with us. I would recommend to anyone that visits to give this place a try.

Paige C.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped here when we came back to put in bay the last day we were in the area. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. The chicken was perfectly fried on the outside and juicy on the inside. It was just the right amount of sweet and savory. I also ordered the chai latte which was really good as well. Our waiter was really nice but the service was extremely slow. I'm not sure if that's just how it is since it technically wasn't season where there is more people on the island so they have more employees to help. I didn't let that determine this review since the food was phenomenal and the waitress was very nice and accommodating.

Mae N.

Yelp
Amazing crepes and the Tommy Pickle was delicious. I definitely recommend this place. They've got sweet and savory crepes during breakfast and brunch. Not expensive either.

Debra V.

Yelp
The Old Forge looks brand new, but opened five years ago. It has a coffee shop inside with booth seating. The restaurant has tables. The menu is not pub food, but the trendy foods like yummy appetizers, panini sandwiches, salads (I had the kale with goat cheese), has full breakfast anytime, and specializes in crepes. Patio sitting is available. Wine and beer list. Escape from the kiddies and rowdy crowds and try the Old Forge. Has some forge tools as decor.

Michal F.

Yelp
Walked in and was greeted rudely. Service was so slow. The waitress had an attitude. Lunchmeat on the crepe. Pierogies was terrible. I would never recommend this place.

Angela H.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast sandwich, coffee and sweet crepes! We had the turtle crepe and friends tried the pumpkin cheesecake.

Clint L.

Yelp
A much needed breakfast after a night of debauchery! The Forge breakfast was nice and the Breakfast Bowl with pulled pork, potatoes, eggs, and black bean salsa was delicious! Wife had a Tommy Pickle (bloody Mary) and I tried the Mimosa (hair of the dog you know). The waitress wasn't overly concerned with giving us our check, we had to eventually ask another waitress for it. Other than that, it was a nice stop.

Staci G.

Yelp
The Forge is a great place to grab a coffee in the morning or an iced mocha in the afternoon. Their crepes are to die for! So many choices from savory to sweet! The Garden bar is a perfect place to sit and have a mimosa in the morning. Mark and his crew do an amazing job! Great food, great drinks, great service! Do not miss The Forge when visiting South Bass Island!

Devan S.

Yelp
Such a cute place. The service was good and I love their crepes so much!! I had a great martini, too. Everyone in our group seemed to love their food and the service was good, too.

Debbie A.

Yelp
Highly recommend!!!!! Food was so good and the outside dining on the side was perfect to get away from the town traffic!!!!

Megan P.

Yelp
We visited here for an afternoon lunch with a party of 7. The staff was super friendly. Our drinks were never empty and the cocktails didn't disappoint. I had the spicy peach margarita and an espresso martini drink. The food was unbelievably delicious. Our table had the drunken mussels, the broth was to die for. We also had the Parmesan truffle fries and short rib poutine. It was delicious and perfectly salted. Our table had a mix of salads and sandwiches. All of them were delicious. I had the salmon and kale salad. It was simply delicious and a nice balance to all the fries and crepes for dessert! We had the buckeye crepe and the one with lemon and raspberry. Again they were so delicious. I cannot wait to visit again. The owner came to check on our service and food. He was so friendly and you can tell his love goes into this business. We got some shirts for our memories. 100% recommend!

Tracy P.

Yelp
We tried The Forge for the first time on Friday and fell in love. Best food on the island, in our opinion. We started with the chicken dumpling soup. They managed to keep it brothy and a bit creamy at the same time. Delicious! Truffle fries with the garlic aioli were hand cut and fried...tasted just the like fries we make at home. We split a savory chicken crepe. Was cooked perfectly and the Sriracha mayo was a wonderful complement. Had a very quesadilla-like flavor which we really enjoyed. Our cocktails were great, too. Service was fast and friendly. We highly recommend giving them a try and can't wait to go back!

Renee K.

Yelp
This is a nice little surprise tucked away at PIB! I'm not a huge partier, so the islands can get a little overwhelming for me, especially on the weekends. This was a nice little spot to get away from all the craziness and sit down to have a nice relaxing cocktail and appetizer with my boyfriend. It was not crowded at all on a Saturday afternoon around dinner time so we came in and sat on the patio. They have a nice selection of brunch cocktails and other island drinks to enjoy, as well as appetizers, small plates, and nicer dinner options. I had a margarita and my boyfriend had a gin cocktail and both were poured well and very refreshing! We had the truffle fries to split and good lord, they were to die for! They were crispy and cheesy and the garlic aioli was just perfection. Next time I'm here, I want to come for breakfast/brunch as all that food just looked pure heavenly. It's got a nice lowkey vibe with friendly staff, I'll for sure be back!
