What a lovely hidden gem. Clean spacious room with modern bathroom. Staff were lovely, nothing was a problem. It's right in the middle of York which was fantastic, inside the castle walls. There is tea & coffee facilities for free on site. You also can eat in the bar downstairs for dinner and recieve a free bottle of wine. We stayed 1 night and loved it. And easy to find, just look for the teddy bear shop on the corner

Aside from the great location not much else to say positive about this place. Lift doesn’t work so good luck slogging luggage if you have any up 3 flights of stairs! Bed and pillows are not at all comfortable and the noise transfer through the walls and windows is severe. Previous reviews mentioned this, but fortunately the club wasn’t open on Mondays, however every other noise comes through and deliveries start at 7am, so a lie in is not on the cards. There are some ear plugs to use though… a shared kitchen is available that we didn’t look twice at. For the price and what’s included (no breakfast) I would seriously reconsider ever staying here.

Just..... Rough. The photos absolutely over sell this place. I thought it was some kind of Inn when I booked it, but it's more like student halls. The disappointment is palpable. It's very expensive for what it is. It's in a great location but it's very underwhelming and other guests do not care about anyone else but themselves, which seems to be the standard everywhere these days to be fair. Paper thin walls and noisy people at 7:45am on a Saturday morning on a "get away" break, do not mix well! Graffiti up the walls of the four+ flights of stairs to the bedrooms only serves to cheapen the experience further. I would absolutely NOT recommend this place to anyone else, especially at over £160/night!! I'd have still been disappointed at £60/night tbh, but at least it would have been more in line with expectations at that price point

The room was lovely and spacious. Smack bang in the middle of town. Lots of coffee shops, bars, restaurants etc Very clean and modern. The music is loud but the customer service was exceptional. I would highly recommend. Stayed for 2 nights.

The room was nice and spacious.||We stayed from Friday until Sunday. ||It was very difficult to sleep both nights due to noise. Loud music played until around 3 am, and some hotel guests were talking, slamming doors and watching TV at high volume in the middle of the night.||I wish the hotel had been more transparant about the amount of noise to expect.||We did not meet a single employee during our stay. The first morning there was vomit on the stairs, and the second morning there was leftover food on the counter in the shared kitchen.

Excellent accommodation for groups of friends comfortable with everything you need. Great host. I stayed in a double room the bed was comfortable great shower and bathroom, plenty of towels. Complimentary water, nuts, crisp and biscuits. There's communal kitchen area for coffee and toast all round perfect.

We loved it. Accommodation only, but many bars and restaurants all around it. The location could not be better, if you're looking for something central. It is NOT a hostel (although easy to mistaken it due to the historical reviews), it is now a boutique hotel! And what a lovely one. All was great, the people that received us, the quality of the furnishings, all clean to a great standard and great attention to detail in our rooms - and with complementary goodies. The flat they offer was also great, with a cozy but bright dining/living room for the ones who stayed there. 5stars

The apartment we stayed in had recently been refurbished and looked really good. The kitchen was lovely and it was well decorated and spotlessly clean. The location is great - right in the centre of York and minutes from literally everything. Unfortunately that means it is noisy and earplugs are essential. It was easy to check in and check out. There are a couple of things that have prevented me giving a higher review - the noise from the club downstairs was a problem (even on the third floor), it was not possible to cover the skylight in the bedroom so it was light very early in the morning, the bathroom sinks were very small and there was an issue with shower temperature meaning both were quite difficult to use. Overall though it was a nice place and could recommend it.
