The Fortress Resort and Spa Galle

My stay at The Fortress Resort & Spa in Galle was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and professionalism. The setting is breathtaking – a perfect blend of modern luxury and traditional Sri Lankan design, set right on the oceanfront. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered stunning views of the sea. The attention to detail throughout the resort, from the decor to the landscaping, really adds to the peaceful and luxurious atmosphere. The food was another highlight – every meal was delicious, with a great mix of local and international options. The staff were always attentive and kind, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. Whether you're looking to relax by the pool, enjoy a spa treatment, or explore Galle Fort nearby, this resort is the perfect base. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene, high-end experience on the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

We celebrated our son's 1st B'day here at The Fortress. The hotel is amazing, the rooms spacious and the service is very warm and inviting. One major criticism, which wasn't mentioned anywhere is that they don't have elevators. So, elderly people accompanying may have difficulty walking up stairs. Our parents had some difficulty and we had to rearrange / upgrade rooms last minute for extra price! The staff is very friendly, the look and feel of the property is very pristine and we had a wonderful time there!

Sri Lanka never ceases to amaze — it truly leaves no stone unturned in surprising you. The Fortress Resort and Spa is among the best places I’ve ever stayed, from its stunning view from the ocean rooms to the exceptional hospitality throughout my visit. When dining at the restaurant, be sure to ask for Chaminda and Tharushi — they go above and beyond to make your experience pleasant and memorable. Their genuine warmth, attentiveness, and passion for guest service truly stand out. Thank you, The Fortress Resort and Spa, for making our stay so wonderful. I’m already looking forward to returning soon!

My stay at The Fortress Resort & Spa was amazing! The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making me feel truly cared for. The views were breathtaking especially at sunset & sunrise. Everything about the place radiates comfort, cleanliness, and genuine hospitality. Highly recommend!

This would have to be one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at, not just in Sri Lanka, but full stop. Beautiful architecture, facilities, and surroundings. The staff, from the front reception, to lifeguard at the pool, to the team at the restaurant were exceptional. So…why only 4 stars? When we collected our two vehicles to head back home, which were valet parked, they were absolutely covered with bird poo(Or maybe bat poo?…not sure, not an expert). The staff that would have driven the cars to the entry would have noticed this easily, yet said nothing. We had to pull after about a kilometre and wash the cars as it was so bad, and then again a more thorough wash once we got to Colombo. It was really disappointing that after the whole team and hotel just ‘Wowed’ us for two days, it was undone by letting this happen and leave a sour taste in our mouths as the last experience from the hotel. Leave the poo incident aside, Amazing hotel! Would love to come back for a week and just relax watching the waves. Next time I will Uber. Lol
