The Fortress Resort and Spa Galle

We had the most amazing time at The Fortress Resort and Spa Galle in November. The room was very tidy and spacious as were the grounds around the hotel. The pool was also a highlight, especially with the view out to sea. Special mention to the restaurant waiting staff and in particular Samantha who greeted us each night as we sat down for our meal. The waiting staff were knowledgeable, tentative and very professional. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Sri Lanka.

Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! From the warm and attentive staff to the delicious food and stunning architecture, everything was exceptional. It truly felt like spending a few days in a colonial palace. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and catered to all our needs with genuine care. Our room was beautifully designed and very cozy. We’ll definitely be visiting again — a must-try for anyone who wants to experience the true beauty of Sri Lankan nature and hospitality.

An amazing resort. The rooms and view are great. We spent there a night before flying out of Sri-lanca and we enjoyed every minute of it. The ocean was rough when we were there so didn't get a chance to swim but did get a chance to see some sea turtles swimming next to the hotel. The hotel is luxurious and the breakfast was amazing with a great variety to choose from. The pool is huge and it's nice to swim in the pool and enjoy the colorful sunsets. Highly recommended, choose a Seaview room it's worth it.

The food was another highlight – every meal was delicious, with a great mix of local and international options. The staff were always attentive and kind, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. Whether you're looking to relax by the pool, enjoy a spa treatment, or explore Galle Fort nearby, this resort is the perfect base. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene, high-end experience on the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

Very nice property well maintained. views, beach, pool are clean. Room service and housekeeping are excellent. They attend to every need. Excellent staff. The location is not the best, outside the hotel is only Banks, nearest market is 1 kilometer away. Galle is 45 mins far by car , turtle spotting beach is 10-15 mins by car. Restaurant is over priced, Food is nice but not consistent, don’t expect the same taste two days in a row. However compared to other restaurants its by far the best. But compared to the value it can be improved.

We had an Ocean View room with a balcony overlooking the grounds and Indian Ocean.|The room was comfortable with huge bed, a sofa and table and chairs on the balcony.|The bathroom was quite a high spec, with glass panelling enclosing a large shower space and toilet area. There was large bath and two washbasins. Plenty of storage shelving and a illuminated shaving mirror.|Hotel was very clean, as were the communal toilet facilities, (checked every 30mins)

Beautiful property with awesome sea view next to swimming pool and also from rooms. Helpful and hospitable team to support always. Ground staff very helpful under supervision of Ruvindra Ganesh who helped to get medicine at midnight for us. We had a wonderful stay with my family and friends.
