The Founder’s Memorial

The Founders Memorial in Abu Dhabi is truly a remarkable tribute to the vision and leadership of the UAE’s founding fathers. It’s surrounded by lots of trees and greenery, which makes it a peaceful escape right in the middle of the city. The architecture is impressive and thoughtfully designed, offering a serene place to reflect on the UAE’s history and its founders. I loved how it blends nature with cultural significance — a perfect place for a walk or a quiet moment. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Abu Dhabi and looking for a meaningful outdoor experience close to the beach. Paid Parking spots are available nearby.

An amazing public art at the heart of this park and while it seems like it has a great view of the buildings in day time, it does seems better in the night when the art is litted if you are more interesting to observe how the geometric shapes intertwine in it's layered forms to form the face.

The Founder’s Memorial is an awe-inspiring place, especially at night during the cooler winter months. The ambiance is magical, with beautifully lit pathways and serene surroundings that make it a perfect spot to reflect and relax. The centerpiece, a stunning tribute to Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the visionary first president of the UAE, is breathtaking. The intricate design of the monument combined with the tranquil atmosphere truly honors his legacy. The cozy seating areas and peaceful vibe make it an ideal spot to unwind with family or friends. It’s not just a memorial—it’s a meaningful experience that celebrates the spirit of unity and leadership. A must-visit destination!

The artwork is impressive, but what amazed me was just how clean and peaceful the park was. But you should visit it at night, it.s much more impressive due to the lighting.

It's nice to visit for a couple of minutes to take a photo. But, I strongly recommend visiting at night, as it transforms into a romantic scene. It has an Arabic coffee shop named "The Bench Cafe," low lights, and people are very quiet. Along with the park, trees, etc., the atmosphere is completely romantic. It's also nice to go with friends to relax.

In the city of Abu Dhabi you will find the Founder’s Memorial. The memorial consists of an open Heritage Garden and Sanctuary Garden. At the centre of the Sanctuary Garden is The Constellation, which is a collection of 1,327 geometric shapes suspended on 1,110 cables, which combine to form a three dimensional portrait of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Constellation's suspended shapes consist of five different types of regular, convex polyhedrons known as platonic solids used to represent individual stars creating a portrait of the founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. As you visit this memorial it helps to start at the sign which shows you the different platonic solids: Tetrahedron (4 faces); Cube (6 faces); Octahedron (8 faces); Dodecahedron (12 faces) and Icosahedron (20 faces). It takes a while walking around the constellation to see the face, which is seen from certain angles. Definitely a worth place to spend time too admire this unique work of art.

Absolutely beautiful park and memorial. So pretty and stylish, this park is very clean and it has a coffee shop with benches outside to have a lovely cuppa either at night or day. I loved it!
