Okay, the Foundry isn't my usual cup of tea (I currently live in a run-down college house in the middle of Dinkytown, using plates that may or may not have been bought at a garage sale), but they have a way cool selection of things I would never buy for myself as a college student.
But seriously, it's a pretty sweet collection. Lots of handmade home goodies in this tiny shop. Cool towels, Faribault blankets (so effing cozy, yo) and organic soaps and cleaning supplies. This is like Pottery Barn gone local and hip, with really similar prices. Yeah, nothing is practical here, but it could make a cool gift for a little something special.
My big thing, though? The staff was a little rude and condescending. Yeah, my sister and I are young (she's a few years older and would actually buy something) but there was little to no interaction, which is incredibly awkward in a store that's tiny. Eh.
Apparently, one of the owners has a goat farm and was bringing in baby goats later that day for an event. BABY GOATS, GUYS. Okay, that's just awesome. They gain a star.
EDIT: the owner actually contacted me on Yelp a few days later to apologize for not being as polite and friendly as usual- they were busy taking care of the logistics of getting the baby goats to Minneapolis from their farm, which makes total sense and sounds very stressful. Excited to stop in with my Mom sometime to show her all the cool goodies (that she can actually afford).
