"Opened in November 2018, the Foundry Hotel helped cement Asheville, North Carolina as a bona-fide travel destination. Modern and hip but still grounded in the town’s history, the hotel is housed in a former steel factory; details that nod to the buildings’ past like steel star fastenings, the original elevator pulley system, and lots of exposed brick have been incorporated into the design. The lobby bar is perfect for a pre-dinner cocktail, and the restaurant, Benne on Eagle, is led by James Beard-nominated chef John Fleer. Do yourself a favor and order the pork chops for dinner."

Beautiful hotel, well located and easily walkable being right off the main drag of Asheville. The rooms were very nicely decorated and clean. Comfortable beds. The breakfast and Benne on Eagle was phenomenal. The staff were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Food / drinks and ambience at the bar were great. It was lovely sitting out in their courtyard enjoying the evening. We would definitely stay here again!

I am giving four stars for service because I reached out twice to the GM, Larry, but never received a response to my phone call or email. As a Diamond member, I find this very frustrating. I also sent a complimentary email to Larry regarding his staff, especially the front desk manager, and received no reply. I give five stars to everyone I encountered at the hotel, but only one star to Larry. Larry, I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful stay I had at your hotel. Every aspect of my visit was exceptional, and I truly appreciated the comfortable accommodations and excellent service provided. This memorable experience would not have been possible without Takidra, who went out of her way to ensure our stay was a delight. Her dedication, attention to detail, and warm hospitality made a significant difference. She is truly an asset to your team and exemplifies outstanding customer service. All the people I encountered during my stay, including Tom the bellhop and the entire valet staff, were exceptionally kind and accommodating. Their warm and friendly demeanor, combined with their willingness to go above and beyond to assist, truly enhanced my experience at the hotel. Thank you,

Tammy Epes

What a precious gem we have discovered in this lovely mountain town! We wanted a special getaway for our joint birthdays, a cozy and romantic place to enhance our trip. We got all that and more in this hip, yet culturally significant property just steps from a vibrant downtown. The staff was lovely and accommodating. The room was more than adequate - spacious and luxuriously appointed. Morgan, our concierge, recommended the perfect spot for our birthday dinner - Chestnut, another winner! We will definitely be back!

Our experience at the Foundry Hotel was nothing short of excellent. From the moment we set foot on the property we were made to feel at home and completely accommodated to. The rooms were nicely appointed and the amenities were great. We especially enjoyed having a cocktail in the courtyard while basking in the wonderful weather.

The foundry is in a great location, the front staff was wonderful, they are so nice. It was very clean. The gym is small but they have peloton bikes! Try to pre book and get a top floor. The bed was so comfy! The bathroom was very nice. Would recommend!

Came up for a weekend getaway. First time staying at this hotel and it did not disappoint. Great location, friendly atmosphere and a wonderful staff. The front desk staff is knowledgeable about the local area and very helpful. The lounge is a great place to unwind, especially when they have local bands playing. The bartenders are friendly and professional. The room was clean and felt spacious thanks to the high ceilings. The bed was one of the more comfortable I have slept in at a Hilton property. The valet staff were professional, friendly and prompt. Can’t begin to say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again soon. Thanks again to the staff for such a wonderful experience.

I wish I could make 2 separate reviews, one of the hotel and one of the staff. Good - the room was beautiful! Tall ceiling with big windows and lots of space. Our room was in the East tower, my complaint on that is with luggage there is a set of 10 stairs we had to take our luggage down/ up to get to an elevator. Location of the hotel is perfect for walking around the city. Bad- upon checkin throughout the stay the staff left a lot to be desired. We had prepaid for the 4 night stay, they couldn’t find where that was documented, I had to email the manager the confirmation. I had forgot to pack body wash, the one offered in the shower was very fragrant. When I asked about something for sensitive skin the front desk staff abruptly told me they didn’t have anything else. I asked the house keeper the following day, even through a language barrier she was able to offer me a bar of soap that would have been better however I had already gone to a store to purchase a body wash. They offer a Tesla service but didn’t have adequate staffing to be able to use it when we inquired. Upon departure the front desk and valet staff were not assisting other customers however did not offer to grab my bags to help me down the stairs outside of the building.

Beautiful hotel, everything done with attention to quality and detail. Great location in the city center. I was here for a book retreat and loved it. Comfortable rooms and great shower. Very attentive and friendly staff. The gentleman who was in charge of the 2 morning coffee breaks during the weekend was one of the best I’ve seen. We could hardly notice he was there and everything was perfect. The coffee, teas and pastries were always refilled and all super clean. Perfect service. I apologize I didn’t keep his name. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Yelp
This is our second visit to the Foundry hotel. The first time we just came for breakfast at Benne's on Eagle and walked through the hotel which is BEAUTIFUL and located in small African American district of Asheville, NC. This time we stayed overnight on the 4th of July. The staff is helpful and friendly, and the hotel is immaculately decorated!!!! We arrived and there was a live band playing jazz in the hotel lounge which added to the ambiance. What love about this establishment is the rich history that it carries which we learned about during our first visit where our server told us about in the restaurant. The restaurant has beautiful paintings and murals painted by an African American artist who we were fortunate to meet on the tour of the hotel. The Foundry is a bit out of my personal price range (thankfully hubby paid and got a veterans discount) but it will always be on the top of my list of places to stay! As they operate in excellence.

Yelp
My wife and I are traveling through Tennessee, Kentucky and North Carolina. A few years ago we had the opportunity to stay at the Foundry and fell in love with it. It's truly a nice hotel, situated close to many of the features which make downtown Asheville a great place to visit. Because of this, we chose to alter our travel and make a side trip specifically to stay at the Foundry. Prior to our stay, the Foundry reached out to us via email and asked if we wished to take advantage of an upgraded room offer. We replied and accepted the offer. There was an upgrade fee, but we didn't mind paying a little more for the experience. When we arrived, we learned the hotel was not honoring their upgrade. Mind you, my wife and I are Diamond Hilton members. We're brand loyal. So it was a bit shocking to be told our upgrade wasn't being honored. The staff did attempt to locate a room upgrade, but none were available at that time. I know this seems trivial and I was reluctant at first to post this, but Hilton should know when their loyal customers don't receive the level of service which has made Hilton a trusted name in the hospitality industry. Additionally, the day we arrived we decided to treat ourselves to a drink at the hotel bar. One of the drink specials was a gin based drink which was quite spectacular. My wife had one before we went to dinner. Throughout dinner she spoke of returning to the bar to have another of these drinks. However, when we did return and asked for the drink the bartender, very brusquely, said they were no longer serving that drink. He then walked away. He didn't offer a similar suggestion or ask if there was another drink he could provide, he simply left us standing there. So instead of enjoying our evening and listening to the live music in the lounge, we left. It made it seem as though we were unwelcome. I'm not saying the actions were malicious, or the staff at the hotel was unpleasant, but the results left us with a bitter experience, one which could have and should have been avoided. Unfortunately, time is the single commodity which can never be reclaimed, so you have to get it right the first time. Because that's the only time. Now, I don't wish to take away from the beauty, ambiance and location of the hotel. I hope our experience this time was unique. Hopefully, if you choose to visit you'll have an experience like the first time we visited the hotel, not the second. It is a very nice hotel, but this time the staff really missed the mark. Btw, we did reach out to the staff and were told someone would be contacting us, but never did. This is why I chose this avenue. I'm not looking for any special treatment, only that the staff would have honored their pledge and treated us as they would wish to be treated. I hope this is fair.

Yelp
Cool hotel, all the amenities, friendly service, clean comfortable rooms with great coffee machines. Live music in the lounge/bar area.

Yelp
We stayed in The Foundry Hotel last night in downtown Asheville, NC. We received a complementary upgrade with our check-in along with glasses of champagne. Our room was super beautiful with a fabulous view, hardwood floors, high ceilings, exposed brick, and a super comfortable bed. Very lush and large. My favorite part was the spacious and beautiful bathroom with a pretty, oversized tile shower with great water pressure, followed by the best lotion that lingered on my skin with a unique, soothing, beautiful scent. My husband loved the smell of the lotion too. The hotel lounge was classy and elegant, and we enjoyed listening to the solo guitar player in the courtyard during the evening hours in cozy chairs in front of the fire pit. All restaurant had delicious food. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff was attentive, receptive, and went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. I highly recommend this hotel. My only regret is not being able to wear the lotion when I get home.

Yelp
Great! Downtown location. A block to restaurants, bars, coffee shops The physical plant is excellent and unique. I wish you could tell the story of the building and it's rehabilitation/ renovation. The architects really did an excellent job. The rooms were comfortable, ours had a nice view. The property is well maintained and rooms were clean Service was on par with expectations. Would stay again

Laura B.

Yelp
Cute boutique hotel... just a few blocks away from restaurants and more action. Parking is a bit of a mess and the rooms are on the smaller side but a nice boutique hotel.

Vicki R.

Yelp
Everything about The Foundry was exceptional except for one thing I'll touch on about the restaurant but didn't warrant losing a star. The hotel is easy to get to and close to everything in downtown Asheville. A brief walk and you have access to great restaurants which is the reason I do not recommend eating at Benne on eagle which is on property. Here's the lowdown on our stay: valet and check-in was what you'd expect from an upper end hotel. However, Matthew made it extra special. We asked about a place to eat after driving and traveling all day and he immediately made a few suggestions and offered to drive us there in the "Tesla Shuttle" which was great because our room wasn't quite ready (we ended up with an upgrade to an Historic Foundry King). Matthew stored our luggage and whisked us off to Madness Sushi Burger Bar which I will review separately. He chatted us up about Asheville and shared some interesting facts about the hotel, etc. A true treasure, especially because when we were done with our meal he came right back to get us! Every time we saw him on property for the next 3 days he remembered us and chatted. The Tesla was fine but Matthew was the best part. Our room was spacious with floor to ceiling windows and exposed brick, several chairs for seating, a large bathroom and wet bar/refrigerator. The hotel's historic bones and footprint have been well preserved in places and recreated in others. Matthew (he's a history major we found out so our interest in local history seemed to egg him on) shared info on the black stars around the building, the different buildings uses, etc. this is certainly the place to come for romance, elegance, and charm. A note on the hotel restaurant...the level of service there does not match the rest of the property. Lackadaisical handling of a very easy dessert order for us to eat on the lawn one evening was clearly the norm not the exception as I waited and watched the happenings in the restaurant for inside diners. I would happily return to the Hilton Curio property in the future.

Rachel L.

Yelp
gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. really great location. just a few minutes uphill walk to downtown. comfy beds, pillows are a bit soft. awesome gym, lots of seating both indoors and outdoors (fire places were a nice touch when we came in from a rainy adventure!). the system for valet was easy, you just get a link to text when you need your car and they grab it pretty quickly. everyone who worked there was really friendly. skip the in-hotel restaurant - much better options nearby.

Lan S.

Yelp
We recent did a short "staycation" in Downtown Asheville at The Foundry. I'm an Asheville native and have written a number of guidebooks to Asheville and to North Carolina, but although I've visited The Foundry and eaten at the hotel restaurant, Benne on Eagle, I had not actually stayed at the hotel before. I had a Hilton Diamond free night certificate and decided to use it at this spot. My wife and I were favorably impressed by the check-in. Our car was quickly valet parked ($28 a day) and we were offered a glass of sparkling wine at the check-in desk. Although our room wasn't ready, we were provided with an alternate room. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The room itself was charming, if on the small side, with a brick wall and well-selected historical art from Asheville. We used our $30 food and beverage credit to have drinks in the Workshop Bar before dinner and managed to catch a few minutes of a good jazz trio before walking to Chestnut for dinner. The Foundry definitely has a great location, within walking distance of Pack Square and many top restaurants. Hilton did a great job of building out this property using some of the old steel foundry buildings. Everything is first class. I would say our only real disappointment was the DirectTV system. It was difficult to use, and the selection of channels is poor compared to, say, Spectrum cable. For example, I couldn't get the Braves game, Also, it would be handy to have a microwave in the room to heat up leftovers, but upscale hotels often don't have them. All in all, an enjoyable staycation experience, albeit I would not have enjoyed it so much if we did not have a free night certificate from my Amex Hilton card, as the rack rate was over $500.

H B.

Yelp
Excellent stay. I'm a Hilton Diamond member and am picky about cleanliness and customer service. Both are top notch here. The hotel has a boutique feel and was designed/decorated to feel that way. The lounge/bar proved to be a favorite pace for us to end our evenings. Lots of seating, great cocktails, soft jazz quartet playing. A couple was even dancing. We sat by the fireplace each night with our nightcaps. It's a great hotel, very attractive, clean, and not beat up.

Haley S.

Yelp
If I had to describe The Foundry Hotel in three worlds, I would choose luxurious, comfortable, and welcoming. We were constantly offered bottles of water or sparkling wine upon entry. The indoor lobby/bar space is super cool architecturally. We had a Nespresso machine in our room, which we really enjoyed. Coffee in bed looking out over the city was a real treat. The shower and entire bathroom was so nice. Our shower at home sort of stinks, so I always appreciate going somewhere with good water pressure and a nice shower head! The text-to-call valet system was super easy and our car was pulled around the front by the time we got done from our room to the lobby to check out. We only had to walk a few minutes to the Orange Peel, where we went to see our favorite musician play. Overall? Location was excellent. Staff were excellent. Amenities were excellent. I would love to stay here again.

Mark W.

Yelp
Spent a night with my wife at the Foundry for our wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful evening experiencing Asheville, and the Foundry. A lovely hotel, we'd definitely return.

Michael T.

Yelp
Extremely Nice! I don't often write reviews for hotels, mainly because most are lacking in one area or another. The Foundry Hotel Asheville was excellent! The service was exceptional from start to finish. I interacted with seven people during my stay: valet, bellman, front desk, etc. ... even the maintenance man (who asked how my stay was going as we passed in the hall). Everyone was extremely friendly and courteous. The room was gorgeous, comfortable and spacious, and came with excellent amenities. And it is in a wonderful location, just a block back from one of the main streets. My only regret was that I only stayed a night, as I had just stopped by Asheville on my way to visit Charlotte and Raleigh. I definitely want to go back and spend more time!

Nancy B.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Foundry and the entire staff was amazing!!!! Special call out for Nora, Jenna, Jack and Karoline that went out of there way to make us feel welcome, were so very helpful and we will always appreciate their smiles! We loved the Foundry! Thank you!!

Aaron G.

Yelp
staying here should have been a better experience based on the price, location and beauty of the restored old building, but we were kept awake by the noise of drunks across the hall from our room and something on the roof directly above our room. I noticed during check-in a couple of guys with matching haircuts and sweaters rolling in lot of bar bells. I didnt think much about it until around 10pm the noise of what sounded like weights slamming down on the roof directly above us? I called the front desk and they said the noise will stop at 11pm? Also a couple of drunk people were really loud in they're room across from us which I called the front desk again about. the person told me there have been multiple calls about them already and security was already on they're way to deal with the drunks. that's when the argument started with security and the people across the hallway and it got real loud. this calmed down after about 10 minutes of heated words and threats. poor night sleep! ok here's where it gets weird, I got up early in the morning and went to a great bakery and bought three loaves of fresh baked bread to take back home. they smelled great as I drove back to the foundry hotel and gave my car to the valet as there is no option to self park. I ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant, packed up our bags and checked out of the hotel. I ordered my car back, tipped the two toothless and pimpled 30 something year old tweeker valet attendants. got in my car and drove back home still smelling the bread or the ghost of the fresh baked bread loaves only to find the we're not in the back seat any longer? the only people to have access to my car were the creepy tweakers from the hotel. as you guessed, dear reader, we will never again waste our time patience and money on the funky Foundry hotel.

Ralph D.

Yelp
The hotel is excellent! Valet was quick. My room was not ready but we were a glass of sparkling wine to tide us over. The room was ready in short order. Lovely room, marginal view of the police station, nice rustic feel while still being upscale. The bad part, and sad part.... The restaurant "Benne" is awful! The place is dark, service is slow, at breakfast, wait staff look disheveled, and my breakfast was an eclectic mess. Some weird sausage, par cooked bacon, overly creamy grits. My wife had a "waffle" that was basically an over done eggo.. Highlite was that fruit was really good! Bottom line, enjoy the hotel but enjoy one of the many local restaurants. Let the "Benne" be....

Brad H.

Yelp
Huge improvement over last visit. Very clean rooms and commons area. Centrally located, welcoming staff. You can park about 5 min walk away to save on the overpriced parking though and the food options are very limited and overpriced. The bed is very comfortable, shower pressure strong, Nespresso machine in room and plenty of USB outlets (including on side of phone) to keep phones charged.

Chelsea S.

Yelp
The Foundry was by far the nicest, most hospitable hotel I've ever stayed at. I was immediately greeted with smiles and champagne. Check in was seamless and the entrance was immaculate. The room was better than I imagined. Plenty of space, comfortable seating, a beautiful bathroom, and a wall of windows. I could have lived here. The hotel bar had friendly, knowledgeable staff. All of the cocktails were fantastic. Although I didn't try the food, it sounded delicious. I HIGHLY recommend splurging on the Foundry - you won't regret it!

John O.

Yelp
The hotel has two of the best qualities found in a local hotel. The location is fantastic and the charm is to die for. The hotel, although our room had coffe service, also has coffee in the lobby and a coffee shop with an entrance in the main courtyard of the hotel. There is an on site restaurant, full bar as well as a wonderful sitting area for work or for relaxing. It is 15 minutes to the Biltmore and to the Grove Park Inn. We walked to restaurants and shops every day and found new places to explore. Definately worth the cost.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Great location in Asheville but the service was definitely lacking considering the price tag. I won't be back.

Kaung S.

Yelp
Easily one of the best domestic hotels I've stayed at. Location is ideal, as it's just a few blocks away from many of the shops and restaurants. Parking is the only minor complaint, as it's hard to get into, and can get clogged if multiple cars arrive at the same time. The valet service was timely during my entire stay though. Once inside, you're greeted by cool industrial vibes. Was offered choice of water or champagne as a Diamond member. Got a very thorough introduction at the front desk, which was only the start of great service throughout the stay. We got a corner room on the basement level. High ceilings, brick pattern walls with vintage-inspired art work, large bathroom and very comfy king size bed. Loved the scent of the toiletries, and shower had perfect water pressure. Oh, second minor gripe, one ply toilet paper? Come on, y'all! The in house restaurant was solid, never checked out the bar but that area was certainly inviting. Had live music on a Saturday night, and during the Christmas time, the decor was just very cozy. I honestly can't see myself going to another hotel in Asheville for future trips. Just loved it at the Foundry!

Chris G.

Yelp
An eclectic town deserves an eclectic kind of hotel, and the Foundry serves it up in spades. Originally a set of industrial buildings, it was repurposed into an awesome hotel. First thing's first. When did hotels get away from having bars on-site? I posed the question while enjoying the fire in this hotel's superb bar. Lots of nooks and crannies in which to hang out and nurse your blisters from marching around the Bilmore all day. Also, bartenders who know what the hell they're doing. Front desk? Very good at their jobs, too. Rooms? Well-appointed and comfortable. Because I'm in a good mood after my visit, my rating won't suffer due to the lack of a basic breakfast on-site. Don't get me wrong. There's a restaurant attached to the Foundry. But it's the kind of place where it's a little over-the-top in terms of offerings. Sometimes, you don't want a production. You just want two eggs over easy and some bacon, not seafood benedict or mushroom scramble on toast. Plus it's within easy walking distance of Asheville's very cool and artsy shopping area. Totally recommend.

Ben H.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise. The hotel itself was loaded with character. Trendy and cool with the classic old touches from the steel foundry heritage. And whoever the GM is there is an amazing leader and manager. I've been an Honors Diamond for almost 20 years, so I've been around the block a few times, and this staff, to a person, was nothing short of exceptional! From housekeeping to the front desk to the bar, I was blown away by the outgoing friendliness of this staff. 10 out of 10. If the staff weren't so exceptional, I might say the hotel is a tad expensive. But they make the price worth it. The restaurant was closed for dinner during our stay, so I can't comment except that it looked very nice. Great addition to the Hilton family!

Katie M.

Yelp
Everything about our stay was perfect! We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne too! The drinks at the bar were delicious and creative. Everything was very clean and inviting. Definitely a hidden gem that we will definitely return to.

Tono M.

Yelp
Very cool proprty conveniently located within walking distance to everything downtown. The service was great! Everyone was professional, pleasant, and engaging. The room was great, bed and beddin comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with plenty of quality toiletries. Parking is valet and it was quick and easy to park and request our car. The only thing which I didnt care for, very minor, was the TV. The settings on the TV gave all programs the "soap opera" effect. This made all the shows and movies less engaging. I didn't raise this as a concern during my stay. This was a truly excellent experience!

Ben S.

Yelp
Such a charming place in Asheville. My wife and I stayed here for a quick get away and our expectations were exceeded. The staff at this awesome little gem were top notch.

Katelyn D.

Yelp
Stayed here for a quick 2 night visit to Asheville. The location is a repurposed building that has a great industrial feel that is also warm and welcoming. Do know you will have to valet park if you are bribing a car, the they do a great job having your car ready to drive off when you request it. The lower level has the front desk, small shop and a lounge area with plenty of seating and a bar. There's also seating outside when the weather is nice. The rooms are a good size and well decorated. The bathroom has great amenities including nice soaps and lotions. There's a small sink and coffee area just outside the bathroom. The beds are comfortable. The staff is very helpful and can provide many recommendations. The location is perfect for waking to the many great restaurants and breweries in the downtown area. Also, there is a coffee shop and restaurant (open for breakfast too) attached to the hotel or across from the hotel's outdoor seating. As a perk and my favorite part, they provide turn-down service that includes hot tea and cookies. This great spot will make you feel like you are in Asheville and provide the perks you may want to add.

Bruce T.

Yelp
Great hotel, right in the heart of downtown. Everything is within walking distance. Our room was very comfortable and laid out well. It was nice having a shuttle available. The staff and everyone we encountered were very friendly and helpful. It is a couple of blocks from the main traffic area so the room was very quiet.

Tracy W.

Yelp
The kitchen and bar were a disorganized mess with food having to be comped. The chef was speaking to staff in a demeaning and derogatory tone and it could be heard at times. The restaurant needs to be organized and updated with some upper management leadership. Bar was not fully stocked. Food did not cone out on time

Larry K.

Yelp
Great hotel in the downtown area of Asheville. Walking distance to dozens of restaurants, entertainment venues and museums. Great valet service so you can drive to places like the Biltmore Estate or use their drop off service. On site restaurant and separate bar with live music really complete the graciousness and fun of the stay. The hotel staff was amazing and very helpful.

Chloe M.

Yelp
I can't give you more than two stars if your toilets don't work and your phones ring off the hook.

Peter T.

Yelp
Fantastic marketing as a full service hotel with not much else. Bottom floor smells musty. Meh

Angela A.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, great staff, stunning rooms amenities, attention to detail. Food at bar not so great.

Caitlyn W.

Yelp
Cute room, good location, that's about all. Valet was helpful with parking but with 3 of them standing out front when we arrived and when we left, we didn't receive a single offer to help carry our luggage. This hotel has a LOT of stairs, both upon entry and to get to the rooms. A male staff member held the door for us when we arrived, but simply watched my husband struggle up the stairs with both of our suitcases. AC hotel is much nicer with a better location. Stay there instead.

Debra S.

Yelp
Great cocktail bar Atmosphere lovely inside and out Cocktails are inventive and change regularly

Amy M.

Yelp
Really disappointed in this hotel experience. We were looking forward to a nice relaxing & comfortable vacation in Asheville but The Foundry Hotel did not provide that in any way. I was pretty upset that we paid that much for such a subpar experience. The hotel itself is a great concept & one that we usually jump at, taking something old and out of use & with updates making it useful again. Great concept, bad execution. The grounds were nice but not a lot of shaded options so not really useful during the day when the sun was high & at it's hottest. The grounds & the building itself are really one of the only good things I can say about The Foundry. First let me warn you, that price does not include any parking. Parking in that area is next to impossible so out of shear frustration you just decide on valet which is an additional $27 per night (plus tip) which adds up quickly if you are taking a long weekend. When we got our car back it had obviously been parked under trees the entire time because it was a mess. Leaves & bird poop everywhere. It's obvious they are not parking cars in a covered space. I will say that the valet staff was nice & professional & when we needed our car we just sent a text & it was there quickly. So after deciding to pay for valet we go inside to the front desk. It felt disorganized and chaotic. We reserved our room well in advance & got there not long after check in time so we assumed we would be able to easily check in & relax after our long drive. We reserved a King room expecting it to be what was presented online, a beautiful room with lots of natural light and comfy furnishings. NOPE! Not what we got. We were told that they were fully booked & the only room they had available was a Queen on the lower floor (basically the basement - underground). We went down to the first floor to our assigned room & the door was open, it wasn't even ready. So back up to the 2nd floor to the front desk to let them know. We were asked to wait in the lobby, offered some complimentary drinks, & waited. We were given the room next door to our original room, still on the basement level. The room was dark & instantly felt uncomfortable. It had a window but the window opened up to the back street where when people or cars passed they could see right into the room, even able to lean on the window. Multiple times people stood outside our room window whether they were parking on the street, walking by, or attending the church feet from our window. So we spent the entire stay with our black out curtains closed so that we could just sit in the room with some sense of privacy. There was way too much furniture in the room and it was cramped. The decor was horrible & drab, the furniture reminded me of teenage furniture from the 90's. It was nothing like what they show you online. The most modern thing about the whole room was the remote control for the curtains! I usually like to take an afternoon on longer trips & just relax in the room & maybe watch some TV but I didn't feel comfortable enough to do that at The Foundry. I just wanted to be out of the room. Overall there was nothing really special about The Foundry. It doesn't live up to its online advertising or it's price point. It was not an experience that I want to repeat so we will choose differently for our monthly visits to Asheville. Honestly, I've stayed in roadside motels that were more professional & comfortable. Because of that we will not be choosing The Foundry again.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time at the Foundry Hotel in Asheville! The hotel is located super centrally in downtown Asheville, so once your car goes into parking you really don't need it. The valet is really great-everyone was very accommodating and the shuttle is a Tesla, which is just dope. They were comfortable bringing us to a meeting that was about 10 minutes away, which is about their shuttle radius. The driver also picked us up after we were done, which saved us a ton on a Lyft. The hotel is beautiful, a mix of industrial chic and whimsical designs that pay homage to its Asheville roots. On the first floor is the lobby, bar, communal spaces, and restaurant. Staff pretty great, and considerate. Our room was a great size, with one king bed, lounge seat, and a beautiful bathroom. The only challenge was that it was next to the elevators, so Sunday morning check-out was pretty awful for us--lots of chatter in the hall and we could hear all the people walking upstairs above us. Definitely suggest asking for a different option if you get placed there :) Loved being able to go to the bar and get some great wine to bring back to the room. One night we even came back to a delicious tea and cookie, with updates on the weather for the next day! It was so special and a really delightful way to end the night.

Yelp
Had a fantastic stay which was, quite honestly, way better than I would have anticipated considering how new this place was. We were greeted with complimentary champagne before we went for a brief stroll around the property with a well-balanced and reasonably priced cocktail in hand from the hotel bar. Subsequently found delicious turndown treats waiting for us in our room which was a lovely touch. Room was very comfortable and service was great. Location to town was convenient. Close to everything but not close enough to have to deal with noise or drunks. Nearby construction wasn't a factor. If you can, park on the street and make use of Asheville's preferred mobile parking app.

Yelp
Probably the best Hilton-family hotel in the Asheville area, the Foundry is a perfect vacation location from which to explore all of Western North Carolina. It is a very easy walk to the main thoroughfares. The vibe is modern industrial yet the rooms are well-appointed with technology: 50" Samsung TVs, JBL alarm clock/music players with USB charging ports, Nespresso office and automatic shades and curtains (although truthfully they are a bit fussy and we had to call maintenance to show us how to use the curtain remote. The key is to hold at the top of the remote while pressing the button). The gym (45-minute session by reservation only) was superb with views of the Asheville trees and mountains. For those with Teslas, they offer complimentary charging (Valet is $26 and the only hotel parking option). They also will take you on short rides in their own Tesla Model X (reservation required with the front desk). Overall, the staff were excellent and are trying very hard to make the most of the pandemic situation.

Yelp
If you're looking to stay in Asheville, you should definitely have the Foundry at the top of your list! We recently spent a week here and had a fabulous experience. My review might be a little different than the other reviews because I went with my family. I noticed that most of the other guests were couples or there for business, staying a couple days max. Even some of the staff members seemed to be confused that we were staying for so long(one morning one of them said "wow, you're still here?"). Upon arriving we were greeted by the friendliest staff and some champagne. They even gave some toys to my kids. Also the first night they brought in some local tea and cookies. Everything about this place was industrial chic and the perfect type of decor that I love (exposed brick and pipes mixed with crystal chandeliers etc). The staff for the most part was really knowledgeable and helpful when it came to finding things to do in the area. You can tell that they're very new, they definitely have a few kinks to work out. I noticed they were doing a lot of work on the hotel (almost like they weren't completely finished renovating when they opened), but it didn't seem to affect anything really. I really don't have many complaints except for little things. Such as I would have appreciated more than one roll of toilet paper in the bathroom (we're a family of 5) and they didn't have a stocked first aid kit (which I know because I cut my finger open one morning and the staff had to run out to find bandaids). Also the valet parking price is astronomical at $24. I recommend parking at the Aloft hotel across the street for $12 a day. (& fyi they do not offer room service! You can however go to the bar and order food to go.) The lounge area was my favorite part of the whole hotel. It's beautiful and the bartenders and waitresses were wonderful. Also I'm not sure if they do this every Thursday night, but they had live music and dancing during our stay which was amazing. I'm definitely interested in staying there again at some point next year to see what kind of changes they made. All in all we had a great experience and it's worth checking out!

Yelp
This hotel is a gem! We arrived to a glass of champagne to kick off our girls weekend! The staff was outstanding. They were very helpful and accommodating. Jake, the hotel's complimentary driver, took us to and from dinner and made recommendations. They brought ice to our room, offered us water when coming and going, use of umbrellas when it was raining and dining recommendations. The lounge had great appetizers, cocktails and live music Friday and Saturday evenings. Our room was spacious and very nice. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Yelp
Excellent Hilton property. Brand new, only open 3 weeks. Obviously, everything was "new". Surprisingly, the staff was very well trained - helpful and cheerful. They were seasoned veterans, not a bunch of newbies. Rooms are great - very spacious (Foundry King), very well appointed. Bed was super comfy. The wet bar was a nice feature. Lobby is really nice - the local barkeep makes a nice Dirty Martini for sure - lots of social space. Internet was "Hilton" fast. This is a "Curio" hotel, so breakfast is NOT included. That said, the onsite restaurant was very good. I'll stay here again!!

Yelp
NOTE WELL! If you are a BUSINESS TRAVELER, this is not the hotel for you. And if you're a pleasure traveler, it still might be iffy. Let me explain. Asheville is not always the easiest place to get hotel reservations. Over the years, on my twice/month visits there, I have stayed at many hotels. Hiltons and Marriotts of many flavors. And the new Kimpton as well. I made my reservations for the year (because of the aforementioned difficulty at certain times of the year). That's a lot of reservations. Unbeknownst to me, they charged my corporate card a one night stay FOR EVERY RESERVATION! Unlike ANY hotel at all, including other Hiltons. Imagine that nightmare on an expense account. Unlike other hotels as well, they can not look up charges or refunds with your name. They need the dates of the reservation/stay to look up any charges. I am still waiting 1 1/2 day later for those receipts to be sent to me. Is it a nice hotel? Nice, but certainly no nicer than the Kimpton or the Renaissance. And no hotel is worth this headache. As for pleasure travelers. Go for it. Unless you like having your card charged ahead of time. Oh. And the cancellation policy. 48 hours in advance. Not cool.

Yelp
This place looks great on the website. However upon moving into the room just a few minutes after checking in, another family barged into the room thinking it was their room, the hotel was not organized enough to realize they booked two separate parties in the same room. After spending the day seeing the sights and Breweries in Asheville I came home to find the shower in our room flat out did not work. We had to wait over an hour for maintenance to come fix the shower late that night, and the front desk people seemed like our problems with the room were not important enough to be fixed. The maintenance man was nice enough but we kept finding more and more problems with the room as the night went on, such as the fact that the AC in the room was not working and the lightbulbs in the room burned out. Now Normally I'm pretty easy going with hotel issues while traveling, however I'm not ok with a million issues with a hotel room when the room is $350+ a night. The Parking was also a hustle because they only offer Valet parking that is $28 plus tips. I honestly think you're better off finding a cheaper hotel in Asheville. One that is not overly pretentious and over priced like the Foundry. I hope this review will hopefully steer potential guests to another hotel where they can have a better experience, with friendlier staff, at a more reasonable price than the Foundry.

Yelp
Great hotel, excellent service, couldn't ask for a better experience. We also tried the hotel's restaurant for breakfast and it was outstanding.

Yelp
Loved it and did not want to leave! The valet was a bit disorganized but the service was impeccable. Champagne on arrival, bellman, and a turndown service with delicious hot tea are just some of the things to expect. The lounge downstairs has delicious cocktails and great service. Plus, the place is gorgeous. The industrial feel is beautiful and seeing all of the old lifts and decorum is amazing. The room is smaller but we stayed in the historic portion so we expected that. We will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Very nice locale with friendly, accommodating staff. Lacks a pool or business center. Needs a few newspapers in store. Very positive staff from housekeeping, bell service, desk staff, bartenders and wait staff all contribute to a comfortable, relaxed stay.
