I am not a fan of writing negative reviews for any business. But I reached out to the manager- and copied multiple employees and never received a response. This place has so much potential to be wonderful. I reached out 9/30/25- it’s now December. “Dear Molly, I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the handling of my recent wedding at the Foundry. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below the standards I was promised and expected, largely due to the lack of professionalism and preparation from your event coordinator, Michael. From the very beginning, communication with him was a constant struggle. I found myself having to manage and confirm details that should have been handled by the coordinator. For the day itself, I even had to hire someone from my own team to ensure things ran smoothly because I could not rely on Michael to execute. There were also several glaring oversights: He was unaware that trains pass the venue, which directly disrupted the ceremony schedule. When we asked him if he knew the train schedule, during our walk through (two days before the wedding) he told us he wasn’t aware of any trains, as a train was literally passing by LOL The top of our wedding cake was ruined under his supervision. (Pictures attached) He knew we were interested in the courtyard specifically because of its handicap accessibility, but failed to mention that only part of it was truly accessible due to the multiple levels. Since we signed the contract in winter, we weren’t able to properly view the courtyard ahead of time—this was a huge oversight. Our hotel suite was not inspected before check-in and was in unacceptable condition—dated, with broken handles, exposed TV cords dangling, visible bug traps, and no stay-over service provided during our stay (our wedding night) We didn’t end up staying the night of our wedding, we packed up our belongings and left (Pictures attached) I want to be clear: I am about as easy-going as it gets. I’ve worked in catering sales myself, and for the past 10+ years I’ve been in hospitality management. I understand how events work, and I can honestly say Michael’s work is sloppy and unacceptable for someone in his role. It was only after I had signed the contract that I became aware of Michael’s poor reputation, which sadly proved to be true. His lack of attention, care, and professionalism significantly impacted what should have been a flawless and joyful occasion. That being said, I want to acknowledge the bright spot of the experience: the catering staff who actually worked the event. They were kind, efficient, and fantastic. I’m especially bummed I didn’t get the name of the young man with the glasses—he was an absolute star and deserves recognition for his professionalism and service. Given the gravity of these issues, I feel it is important that this complaint is taken seriously. I expect a formal response, as well as an explanation of how these matters will be addressed to prevent other couples from going through the same experience, and how this will be corrected. I trusted your venue with one of the most important days of my life, and I left feeling disappointed and let down. I look forward to your timely response.”

The Foundry Suites is a beautiful and spacious place to be. My daughter's homecoming event was so nice and the decor was amazing!

We had a memorable time at this venue. Plenty of space with two rooms for Very nice appetizers and drinks while we waited for the bride and groom. Appetizers were fresh plentiful & interesting variety. Wait staff walked around with different appetizers. Tables full of cheese crackers fresh fruits perfectly arranged and very tasty. The main course was outstanding the salad was a picture perfect. Tasty cold romaine lettuce drizzle with a wonderful dressing, Parmesan crisp and shaving of Parmesan outstanding. Main course was lemon chicken filet mignon wonderful interesting potatoes. It was like a scalloped potato pie with a interesting puff pastry crust, it was yummy. Fresh vegetables crispy yet tender. The room was magical. I highly recommend this place. We did not use the hotel.

Place is beautiful! Love the out door middle area inside is rustic but modern. Gorgeous. employees were great when it came to being ontop of everything just some were weird? Idk how to say it without sounding rude. To close to ppl bumping into guests pushing past instead of saying excuse me or anything. Didn't like that. rooms are gorgeous! Very spacious. food was good. Some was really under cooked but they re made it...

I had my wedding here on 2/24/24 and could not have asked for a better experience. The venue was gorgeous and the staff was phenomenal. Everything ran smoothly and was laid out exactly how I wanted. Dan is the best coordinator I could ever want. He made sure everything went off without a hitch while staying behind the scenes!

Fabulous location. Best price in Boston and wonderfully competent and funny front desk staff. Very old building with very clean and updated spaces. Room tiny but adequate. Definitely stay again.

Google
The venue was perfect for our nephews wedding. It was nice to have the wedding ceremony and the reception at the same venue without having to drive to a different location. The staff was very professional including the valet parking crew. We are handicapped but they went out of their way to help us get our walkers out of the vehicle, open doors and assist us getting in and out. They were so helpful. The waitstaff and bar tenders very nice. Food was exceptional. I have absolutely no negative comments to make. It was a very enjoyable experience. Thank you very much.

Yelp
We had a family reunion banquet here and everything was 100% perfect! We reserved the space, sight unseen, based off of a referral, but as soon as we walked in the evening of the event, we were more than pleasantly surprised! The space is set up and decorated beautifully! So many different spots to take pictures or just hang out. And then the actual banquet area was very spacious and looked very elegant with the string lights, tablecloths and cloth napkins. Everyone who walked in couldn't believe how great the space was. The food was also fantastic! We just had a regular dinner buffet with baked chicken, roast beef and sides, but everything was very tasty! The star of the meal was the chef selection of mini desserts! Everyone raved about it and everything was absolutely delicious! I could have eaten those lemon bars all weekend. The thing that put everything over the top was the courtyard. Everyone did not see it as soon as they came in but once they did venture outside, no one wanted to come back in. Good thing the program part of the banquet was already over. We took wonderful pictures. The fire pit was lit, and everyone just wanted to stay for as long as possible. I only wish we could have stayed past 10. The only downside was the A/V. But i think if you are bringing your own speakers and things, it would be fine. All in all, I would absolutely, unquestionably refer this space to anyone looking to have an event. We had around 120 people, and we were in the larger room, but even the smaller room looked great when I peeked in.

Yelp
It's the old FWS furniture store for those from Buffalo that remember. Clean and spacious Good food Staff was great Would definitely recommend this venue space. Check it out.

Yelp
I was lost, but now I'm foundry. I was recently lucky enough to enjoy my second evening in the Foundry Suites, both times were for some sort of festival or event. This one was a Cocktail Classic, and it was probably one of the best-organized events I've been to. The space looks regal, resplendent and magnificent. The whole thing is really beautiful, a truly gorgeous place for a party. Buffalo is lucky to have spaces like this for big events, and despite prohibitive costs, more people should use this for lavish parties and galas. I guess a lot of people just don't have ther fund-rys for that.

Yelp
I was here for an event. I was at the same event last year, but at a different venue. I was very excited to attend this Thank You party for the Extra Mile Club riders, and their guests, from the Ride for Roswell. While there were some very nice hor d'oeuvres, it was not the party of the past. There was no main course(carved turkey sandwiches, several kinds of mac and cheese,.....) and no desserts. There were no little signs telling the guests what each hor d'oeuvre was. Only the veggie platter was obvious. The room was not well lit and the acoustics are not very good. It was very hard to listen to and figure out what each of the speakers said.

Yelp
I love the lounge and outdoor area here. It's low key and chill. The indoor lounge with the bar has a free pool table, couches, comfy seats. The bartenders are always friendly and make great drinks. Outside is a huge beautiful area with fire pits, seating, and waterfalls. It's enclosed by the beautiful brick of the building. Also, happy hour drink specials vary but are usually pretty good. And they have free appetizers on Fridays.

Yelp
I went to a wedding here and the venue is absolutely gorgeous. The food was so delicious and very high quality. The ceremony was in the courtyard. What I loved most was that there were several levels for people to stand on to get a good view, and the sound carried nicely. There are lots of plants, so for a fall wedding the colors are gorgeous; so I could also see this being amazing for a summer or spring wedding with lots of greenery! There was lots of room for dancing, and the staff was very kind and polite. After the wedding, we moved into the bar area for an open bar and a late-night taco buffet. My only complaint about the bar is that there is not a lot of seating. Otherwise, what a gorgeous spot to have an event.

Yelp
If you were considering The Foundry as a wedding venue I would highly recommend going somewhere else; I am completely baffled at the poor quality and lack of professionalism that was displayed there. My best friends just recently got married there and what was meant to be a day full of dreams coming true was nothing but a nightmare. My heart truly breaks at the thought of how their day was ruined. A wedding is a day meant for making beautiful lasting memories and now they will be scarred with memories of everything that went wrong. What took place during the reception was nothing but a disastrous shit show with a mile long list of things that went wrong or flat out didn't even happen but was in the contract. In the service industry when you build a contract with a client an exchange is made, in this case a couple pays a decent chunk of money and in return the venue is expected to deliver satisfactory services. The Foundry did an excellent job at NOT holding up their end of the bargain. No couple deserves the stress and embarrassment on a day meant for happiness.

Yelp
The hotel rooms were pretty. This venue was a hot mess though, we voiced a concern and the management team just turned the opposite way. Barely even answered, not even the president!! This place was pretty but do not expect any help or guidance especially on your wedding day. They threw out our cake too, such a bummer. Total disappointment. We had a spill the entire time on the floor, no one cleaned it. The management never showed for rehearsal, Total disorganization. We never saw the banquet manager on day of. My only suggestion is do not pay production fee, if we could sue then We would because it was horrible.

Yelp
I've been to a number of events at the Foundry and recently I stayed overnight for the first time. Overall, I think think the events I have attended were nice and well run. I have been to two weddings, two banquets, and a happy hour. The food was good. The spaces (both banquet rooms, the bar and the courtyard) are nice. The parking for most events is by valet. One time the valet "lost" my car and it took almost 30 minutes for them to figure out where the keys were (in the valet's pocket, not on the rack) while I (and three other drivers) waited in the cold. Last week, I stayed overnight on a weeknight. We stayed in suite 300 which is on the third floor facing Elmwood. The suite was huge and well appointed. The kitchen had a dishwasher and a selection of pots, dishes, glassware and utensils. Just enough if you want to stay in and prepare a meal. There were also some drinks and breakfast items in the kitchen. The king sized bed was very comfortable. There is a tv in the living room and another in the bedroom. The bathroom was nice but someone was sloppy with repairs in the shower and there is paint/caulk along the top of the tiles. There is a thermostat so you can control the suite's temperature. Unfortunately, the traffic noise along Elmwood was very loud. There is also a train that passes nearby but it wasn't very disruptive. The traffic kept me awake much of the night. I would suggest ear plugs or maybe asking for a room away from the street. Overall, I would consider using the Foundry for an event. I would suggest that hotel guests ask to stay away from Elmwood or be prepared for noise.

Veronica M.

Yelp
If there was a no star option I would pick that option. I am currently in one of the Foundry Suites, and have received terrible service. The staff is terrible. There is no room service or food nearby. It's advertised as a full service hotel and it's not. There has not been any cable service. The room keepers don't keep your room clean. They do come around to offer " breakfast" which is basically Cheerios, milk, water bottles. When you call the front desk, no one answers. I travel and this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. There are stains on chairs and rugs. Deft will never come back here again.

Yelp
Compact: Nice event space. North Buffalo. Don't use Acqua for catering if you plan event here. Come with tip money. Expanded: I came for an event. Thrilled to see this renovated building! Remodel of another eyesore on this part of Elmwood! The building looks great, inside and out. When I arrived there was only valet parking. Yuck. Let people park their own car and keep their keys. The valets were super nice though. But they did not really know where you could park if you did not want valet parking. Little education there would have helped. Parking was basically a mess here on a number of fronts. I assume they will work that out over time, but be aware if you are heading here soon. Its a boutique hotel, and I was not a guest so I did not see any rooms. But I did see the small bar there, very trendy, sleek, modern etc. It was actually nice, and I went the following evening for drinks. The drinks were on the pricy side, but the environment is nice. Our event took up two of their large rooms and the small area connecting the two rooms. The spaces are large and more or less unobstructed, great for parties, weddings etc. You could fit a lot of people here if you want to. This is a space to consider if you are in need of event space. I don't know if the same person owns the hotel and Acqua, but Acqua catered the event. The cheeses for happy hour were nice, although not remotely original, cheddar and the like. They had some terrific bread, but once that was gone only crackers came back out. The veggies were ok, although a little tired looking. The dip was in a huge pot with a ladle. Very small plates made this awkward. Dinner was buffet style and not great. Only one kind of salad dressing offered, honey mustard I think which was waaaay too sweet, and you had to pour it out of a pitcher, awkward. The salad was not cut small enough either, making it hard to eat. We were given small plates for the dinner, which was interesting as people put salad under their pasta serving to fit it on the plate. The pasta was some sort of tube noodle with a cream sauce. OK, but on the colder side. The protein was turkey, it was sliced in front of us and tasted alright, although limited seasoning. Their were servers walking around clearing plates and glasses. Some asked before they cleared. Others did not. My drink walked away twice. Since it was a cash bar, this was a little annoying. The tables were well arranged and easy to move around etc. Comfortable seating. The live music was from the Colored Musicians Club and they are super talented. But much too loud for the space and the event. I think this is the venues fault, not theirs. Manage the sound better, people should not be shouting to be heard. The speakers sound was better, so that was nice. They had a screen for a short video, also very nice. The auctioneer was also the right sound level after an early adjustment or two. So they know how to do it. There is a large coat check, but when we left there were tons of coats lying on a table in the coat room. If mine had been one of those they might have had to dig for it. Not sure how well that would play at a wedding etc. But also not sure if those coats were for our event or not, perhaps not. All in all, this is a great space. The hotel looks lovely. Im going with 4 stars, benefit of the doubt on this one, but if you come here for an event come with some singles. There were tip jars all over, the cash bar, the coat check, the valet. I don't like that constant asking for tips at events, but luckily I was prepared. Now you will be too.

Yelp
What a beautiful place to have a wedding reception! The decor and lighting is a perfect setting for special occasions. There is a amazing courtyard garden attached to the reception and smaller party room with a large tiered fountain and fire pits. The manager Don was very helpful and even helped us to get our main decorations up. I didn't actually stay at the foundry yet but my friend was very happy with the room. There is also small bar there with great bartenders. Drinks and bar food was great!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Where do I begin with this place. My best friend had his wedding here booked months in advanced and for starters they broke their contract with my friend and raised the price of their wedding within a week of the date by $2k, the day of the wedding the planner walked out and never came back and no attempt was made to fix any issues. They booked two weddings in two different rooms at the same time and the staff that did decide to work could not handle the one wedding let alone both. The staff were not professional and basically wore what they would hanging out at their house alone. Right after the ceremony there was an open bar but the staff was only serving wine and champagne in which they ran out of in the first 30 mins. Every guest was suppose to have a glass of champagne for a toast after the best man speech and this was completely forgotten. Half the appetizers were forgotten and not even brought out. The appetizers that were brought out were stale and cold. I would highly recommend never using the foundry for a wedding as I heard many people have had similar experiences. If you have yours booked there change it if you still can, if you can't good luck and I'm praying you don't have the same experience my best friends did.
google avatar

Erica L.

Yelp
We went here for a networking event that was just fabulous. The event itself was wonderful. It was a sit down 3 course meal. The service at the Foundry was horrible. We had to ask multiple times for them to fill up the water. That was very disappointing and surprising that they wouldn't have it out on the tables or with the other drinks. They did a horrible job clearing plates. Once our main course came they never took away the salad plates. The foundry seemed very unorganized. It is a pretty place but I would not recommend them for hosting events.

Yelp
I had my wedding at this facility. When I say everything was PERFECT, is an understatement... the food was delicious, Allie, my event coordinator, was always prompt to reply my emails. The space was beautiful. It's been a year and my guests still talk about it! Thank you for making my wedding day perfect! Bonus: we are spending the night here for out one year anniversary

Yelp
Stayed in room 203, the size of the room is comparable to an apartment. It is decorated beautifully and it was clean. Just like hotel Lafayette, there are a lot of unique elements used like metals and woods, and the ceiling is very industrial. The living room really could sleep two or three people if you needed it to and there is a full kitchen (no microwave) with stainless steel appliances. There isn't a restaurant attached and there is no room service. They don't staff the hotel overnight but they give you the managers cell phone number if you need to call for something. The parking is free. I stayed the night after the New Year's Eve party. The party was supposed to start at 830 but the table wasn't set up in time so we had to wait. The party was very pretty but there wasn't a lot of people that attended and I ended up leaving to go somewhere more lively. They provided cute masquerade masks for the guests and the food was laid out nicely. I didn't have to wait for drinks at the bar since there wasn't a ton of people there. The ice machine was broken and there wasn't any provided in the room. The next morning the continental breakfast wasn't prepared. I was told the breakfast starts at 7 am. I went down around 8 and I waited an hour in the lobby and eventually was able to get a bagel. When I got up to my room I found the kitchen doesn't have a microwave or toaster so I went back down to the lobby. Then I had to wait and ask for a toaster which the staff couldn't find. Another guest was also waiting on breakfast. Considering the room was almost $300, the breakfast should have been prepared in time and there should have been a better selection, like bread for toast or cream cheese for bagels. The cost is too high and the service was too poor for me to come back.

Yelp
Came here for an event, and it's absolutely beautiful! This would be a beautiful space for a wedding. I loved the twinkle lights and paper lamps. The entire area was beautiful. Parking was easy. I even like the bathroom a lot - I'm a sucker for a great bathroom! The outdoor courtyard was awesome. I'd love to hang out there on a warm summer night. Not sure what the accommodations are like, but I did see a couple with a dog, and to me that was a great sign. Haha!

Yelp
Gorgeous space for events - beautiful large rooms - excellent catered food and service. Just finished a weekend at this place and was impressed all around. If modern industrial simple design is not your cup of tea, you might struggle with the look and feel - but I was amazed at how wonderful all of the spaces looked. I was a guest so I am not privy to the cost - but from my vantage point, worth every penny.

Yelp
Had an event in their banquet spaces yesterday so this is a rating just for that. First time getting to check out this building since being redone. Not a fan of the valet only parking when you pull up, seems a bit pretentious for Buffalo, but they did handle my vehicle A-OK. The space itself is nice, the banquet area has the modern open / exposed industrial vibe everyone is going for these days. Stepped over to the hotel bar area and it looked much the same. They did have a nice courtyard in the middle of the banquet space area too. Food was ok and everything went smooth service wise. A nice place you may consider holding a wedding reception or other event at.

Yelp
I went to a banquet at The Foundry about a year ago and I had been wanting to go back to the bar area since. I finally made it back a couple days ago with some friends when we were looking for a place to grab a drink. There are two reasons why I love this place. The first reason is because of the parking. The bar is located in the hotel so you don't need to worry about looking for street parking or paying for a spot like you would downtown. The second reason why I love this place is because of the environment inside. It's trendy and has a calm feeling to it. I hate crowded spaces and so this place is like a dream. You have room to breathe and you can hear your friends when talking to them. You can also play pool, you can grab a bite to eat by ordering from the bar (and sit at a table to eat), or you can sit at the bar with your friends and have a chat with the bartender as well! This place is one of those best kept secret bars. Don't tell too many people about it! I love it the way it is.
google avatar

Clare C.

Yelp
One star is being generous considering my experience here - there was not one positive aspect of our visit. The staff was untrained , the manager was running around with dinners, asking tables if it was there order, the bartender took 15 minutes to pour 3 glasses of wine & make 1 drink (she was not taking care of anyone else at the time). All the hype about the wonderful job done on the FWS building means nothing if the space will be vacant eventually. From all the problems I've seen & heard about this place , from banquets to apartment tenants, it won't be long

Sheresa M.

Yelp
Visited this hotel about a year ago but forgot to leave an review. Either way the room was beautiful, I loved the apartment style set up it was great for a date night when included dining in. Decor was stylish and chic and bed was extremely comfortable.

Yelp
What a beautiful space. I was lucky enough to attend an event here. First the valet drivers were prompt! The staff were all pleasant, friendly and on point. Food was delicious with a good selection buffet style and carving station. The only piece I was disappointed about was the wine options being offered at the event. Thought they could have offered a nicer quality wine for the event.

Peter S.

Yelp
Attended a wedding and was impressed with the way the old warehouse was converted into banquet rooms. The decor and service was impressive. However the HUGE hunk of meat that 5 out of 5 at my table received, that we identified as chuck roast, was served so rare it looked raw. Chuck roast is a tough cut of meat that needs to roast slow. So sending it back was not an option. The asparagus served with it was overcooked. I finally found a manger to bring this to his attention an it was replaced with the salmon, which was now overdone. I did not want to ruin the brides big day and did not tell the family. But we did see LOTS of rare meat being scrapped off by the staff into the trash. Such a waste of money. I wish more people would have spoken up to allow a refund to the wedding party.

Yelp
Attended a wedding at the foundry suites. This was an amazing space. I was blown away by the restoration of this building, not a detail was spared. Even the restrooms were meticulous. The wedding was supposed to be set in the courtyard but because of rain had to be moved in doors. I'm sure this was a huge stress to staff but you couldn't tell. They clearly sprang into action to make the wedding go on without interruption. I had the pleasure of meeting the general manager, who's care for this place and his guests is obviously very important to him. The food was phenomenal. The staff was phenomenal. We really appreciated the valet parking!!! I would highly recommend the foundry suites for an event. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
My husband and I recently got married and had our ceremony at the foundry suites . When we first booked we were so excited , the venue itself is absolutely stunning and like nothing we had ever seen before . It Was different and that's why we fell in love with it. After the winter months ended and it started nearing our wedding the communication was less than ideal with our coordinator Gary Swanz. I understand it was prime time wedding season in the summer , but I would send emails and they would go unanswered for a week at a time . Email is the best way for me to communicate because my work schedule is all over the place . The day of my rehearsal Gary wasn't anywhere to be found . I asked one of the hotel workers if he knew where he was and he didn't know either , 20 minutes goes by ( mind you we only had an hour to practice ) so I take charge of the situation and lead everyone to the courtyard myself because the one person who is supposed to be coordinating my event is not there . 10 minutes later Gary shows up (now 30 minutes late ) and pretends like everything is fine , not even an apology . He was very frantic about everything and we were extremely rushed . The next day I'm hopeful for everything to go well. And it did up until our reception . Midway through everything my husband went up to get a beer and asked the bartender what other beers she had , she told him the kinds of beer they had and he was confused because we were supposed to have more of a selection . So at this point I'm really annoyed because we upgraded our bar package so our reception was supposed to have call liquor . Turns out they never upgraded us even though we paid for it . The head waitress tells us she has to call Gary to figure it out because he isn't there . A few moments pass and she comes over to our head table and tells us she just called the owner and we are getting upgraded to premium for the rest of the night because of the confusion and that she's so sorry . My wedding was beautiful but those things that happened shouldn't have , especially when you pay the amount of money you do to have a beautiful stress free day it should be just that .

Joanne F.

Yelp
First time visiting The Foundry. It was a family wedding. Everything was perfect! The place was spotless. The food was excellent. The staff was courteous. The valet parking was awesome. The courtyard is gorgeous and so are the suites. It is also easy to get to and easy to get in and out of.

Melanie S.

Yelp
Worst experience ever. We were there for a banquet. There was not enough food, the chicken was raw, and they had 1 bartender for way too many people. I waited in line for food for 30 minutes and then when I finally got to the front there was no food left. Waited an hour in line for a drink. No employees in sight. Terrible place.

Yelp
I stayed at the Foundry on 11/11/17. We had a wedding for my daughter. It was excellent. Gary the person that helped us was wonderful. I cant say to much about him. He got us through the tuff times that happened with our flower. He made everything so nice. Hes the best. The food was great. The service and staff were great. I stayed in a clean room and had a ball thanks to Gary.

Yelp
We went to check out the lounge. The venue was great, the bar tender was attentive and courteous. It was Friday Happy hour so there was a free but mediocre buffet of cheese, nachos, and sandwiches. My wife and I each had a Manhattan and a draft. $36!!! For 2 drinks and 2 drafts.

Yelp
This review is for the Foundry Lounge (restaurant). From the moment we walked in it was a bad experience. Many people stood around but no one was willing to help. In fact, two hostesses talked with one another in a corner. Finally, a man (who was sitting at a desk typing on a computer??) found someone else to then seat us. Waitress had no idea what drinks they even served. Food was beyond disgusting. I don't like to complain but my friends food was not edible. I got gnocchi in the heaviest, saltiest cream sauce that upset my stomach an hour later. Appetizer pizzas were very plain.. The part of my friend's meal that was not edible was the biscuit on her chicken and biscuit dish. It tasted metallic and like acid! Manager was defensive at first but then went back and tasted the biscuit, came back out and admitted the cooks doubled (or tripled) the amount of baking soda. So gross. He comped our meal but we will never go back. It was that bad. Oh and by the way, this was restaurant week. Yep.

Yelp
I recently attended a work Christmas party and was quite impressed overall. I remember the building years ago and what a fantastic venue it has become! The courtyard is beautiful and I would love to see how it looks on a warm summer evening. The outdoor fire pits are just the right touch. I have to imaging this is a great venue for a wedding reception. I loved the interior of the room we were in....exposed brick, and industrial looking, but still very pretty. The food was fabulous and the the wait staff was very friendly. Our room seemed a little small for the noise level of the band, but hey....it was a party! I'm going to have to check out the website to see if they are open to the public for dinner and drinks. Rocco Termini has done a fab job!

Yelp
Sketchy hotel with no security or front desk staff after 10:00pm rooms are very modern and well kept but we were kept up by noisy screaming and yelling and doors slamming ALL NIGHT LONG

Yelp
I am a local who needed a place to spend the night on short notice and this hotel was a lovely surprise with amazing attention to detail and kind, attentive desk staff, including one who walked me to my room & adjusted air conditioner temp! The room was huge and well appointed with a style I'd call urban chic, like a small loft apartment. A big kitchen w. new stainless steel appliances & light snack eats: Buffalo-made Cheerios, milk, juice, bottled water, k-cup maker w. locally-roasted coffee. Sitting area w TV had couches w designed throw pillows. Original wall art included a framed hand made paper buffalo in relief& a signed Leroy Nieman golf poster, which gave the room character well beyond bland hotel style. The king bedroom was big with its own love seat, a second TV & a mirrored bureau & night stand w drawers. The bathroom was equally cool. Giant, deep tub, sadly w a broken stopper that kept me from soaking in it, but shower was good and thick glass door was nicer than shower curtain. Sink was modern elegant. Lots of towels. I slept comfortably on bed, which could have used an extra blanket. Street noise is audible and they should stop with the fruity too-sweet air freshener that permeates the hallways. But I left thinking people don't realize how nice this hotel is! Every other spot I was curious to try was booked solid -- from the Hotel Henry to the Curtiss, the Lafayette, the Inn at Buffalo and city bed and breakfasts. A few options that I did find were $250 a night & too much. So a Yelp search pointed me to this hotel in a beautifully refurbished factory, which I discovered was done by the same developer who so carefully restored the Hotel Lafayette. The distressed wood floors, which seem original, give it a cool, authenticity. I wanted to come back one day & play pool and have a beer at the bar by the check in desk.

Yelp
This review is for the lounge within the Foundry Hotel. Visited here a few weeks ago with a buddy for some drinks and food. We drove by it and were very curious to see the transformation from fws to an upscale hotel. The selection at the bar was pretty limited. Drinks were made incorrectly according to their menu. I specifically ordered a drink that is listed to have Amaro Nonino -which is kind of scarce in the area, but instead it was made with Ramazzotti. That wasn't really that big of a deal..As for the food - we ordered pizza and the taquitos. The pizza reminded me of a frozen pizza that you could buy at aldi. The taquitos were pretty good, but you only get two of them. I guess I would probably come back here for a beer or two, but that's it.

Yelp
The style of the banquet hall is modern chic, there is plenty parking and the courtyard is beautiful, however this review pertains to the hotel and dealing with the hotel staff is a different story. I had a reservation made and email confirmation sent for the specific date and price, however a following email was sent stating that the room rate went up and I would be required to pay the additional rate (after the lower rate was agreed upon and email confirmation sent). The front desk staff are unable to assist with room rates and the manager (Philip Lewis) was never available or returned any phone calls (called multiple times and left messages and going to the hotel to speak to him in person and left another message because he was not on site). The hotel refused to honor the initially quoted room rate. If booking a reservation confirm, confirm and confirm the initial rate you are quoted and emailed in a confirmation is the rate the hotel will honor.

Yelp
I couldn't have been more excited when I received a wedding invitation that would be held at the Foundry Hotel & Banquets. This is the old FWS warehouse building on Elmwood Avenue that Rocco Termini purchased and renovated. It is now a venue with "21 spacious boutique hotel rooms, 9,000 square feet of well-appointed meeting and banquet rooms, an outdoor courtyard area, a fitness work-out room and chic elegance", as per their website. When we entered the hallway toward the two banquet rooms, we were floored by how beautifully decorated the space was (brick wall interior, dark lighting, modern décor). One room was used for cocktail hour & drinks and dancing after dinner, the other room was set up gorgeous for the guests' dinner. I am so sick of the typical wedding venues in Buffalo. It's always the same old, tacky, gaudy, ugly carpeted rooms, and this is by far, completely different from anything Buffalo currently has to offer. The food was excellent. We had filet & salmon. All of the hors d'oeuvres that were passed during cocktail hour were just as delicious (bacon wrapped mussels, chicken quesadillas with mini margaritas, are just some to mention). The service was impeccable and the entire night was flawless. There wasn't one detail that was missed. I can't wait to be invited to another wedding here, or possibly have mine in the future :)

Yelp
Just want everyone at The Foundry Lounge to know how happy everyone was with our post holiday office party! The variety, quality and amount of hors d'oeuvres served was wonderful, the cheese and crudité array also bountiful and delicious, and the beef carving station was thoroughly enjoyed as well! Manager Don, Mike, behind the bar, and Dawn, were spot on and so attentive to all of us! For many of the guests, this was their first time at the Foundry and they were totally impressed with both the food and the innovative venue. We all loved the courtyard fire pit as well! Thanks for making our party so impressive and head and shoulders above prior years!

Yelp
The Foundry is a magical place. Mike the bartender makes the best drinks and conversation the east coast could offer. A beatific venue with great decor.

Yelp
Drinks are way over priced and they have no food menu, not even snacks.

Yelp
I can't say enough great things about the Foundry and how they helped make our day so great. Molly and Gary were incredible. Always helpful, had great ideas and made sure we were happy. The venue is breath taking and the food was fantastic. Everyone raved about what a beautiful and unique venue it was. Thank you to everyone at the foundry for making our special day perfect.

Yelp
My first visit scheduled visit was disappointing: the person I was meeting with was juggling two potential event customers and serving lunch to people in the lobby all at the same time! He left me for approximately 20 minutes in the space alone. Finally I asked and he returned; he didn't provide me with any information, plans or menus....I had to ask. I kept reading great reviews, so I chalked it up to a bad day. Because the space was so beautiful, my family urged me to book it anyway. But even after booking, don't expect a call from the event coordinators or much assistance. I have planned over a 100 events in the past years, this one was tough for me. Luckily I was very organized. I planned the layout of the space myself and asked for all the amenities I needed for the event. If I hadn't been so pro-active, the party would have been a fail. I finally met a coordinator when I arrive about an hour before my event, she disappeared, and I never saw her again. I had to depend only on the wait staff. The day of the event, the sidewalk wasn't snow plowed, my brother had to shovel to get my guests in safely. Consider what time of year you are having an event and what they may add to the room décor during this time. As my event was during the holidays, they had knick-knacks of cheap Christmas décor and dead plants in the windows. We removed them (and reinstalled after the event). The Christmas tree had lights, all solid white and the final bottom strand flashing....really lacking the attention to detail. The food in general, was good but cold. The price was fair. So, my advice...if you are a good planner and don't mind doing a lot of it on your own, this is the place for your party.

Yelp
Let me start by saying, this is a amazing low key hotel , the room is spacious, windows open to have a nice breeze and sounds of the city, comfortable bed, pool table and bar in the lobby which is very funny, it would be 4 stars BUT there was a catch, me and my girlfriend are relatively young, when entering the parking lot 3 different occasions was treated very weirdly by valet, first encounter I was asked if I was there for a event, then asked what I was there for, being confused on what other reason I'd be in a hotel parking lot I believe the conversation should have started with if I had a reservation, excited about the stay I just shook it off, the second time, as I attempt to park I get yelled at "woah woah woah" and blatantly asked "do u work here or something?" After responding almost irately no I have a room he responded "oh ok" again confused on why that would be the assumption of me pulling into the parking lot of a hotel I paid 2 days to stay in, then lastly for the third and final time was asked "what are u here for?" Now I am not going to say it was race related especially since we are a young interracial couple, but for three times not he approached as guests of the hotel was both embarrassing and surprising, and granted this might not happen to most guests, and in all the hotel was amazing, but those situations with valet was both inappropriate and uncalled for

Yelp
Overall this is a nice looking venue, especially the courtyard area. This review is for the bar. The bartender seemed inexperienced and unhelpful When I ordered my selection from the $10 cocktail menu the bartender replied loudly "that drinks disgusting". The bartender said she would make something else with that drinks main ingredient which was Pimms but she asked me to tell her what to put in it. I thought that was odd and showed her lack of experience. Not wanting to leave because of the weather outside and I was still holding hope the drinks would be good. I chose to select a completely different drink. That drink was alright but nothing special. My friend ordered the Manhattan from the cocktail menu and again the bartender seemed alarmed and started going on about how she was out of some ingredients but would make it work. Well she didn't make it work, my friend said her drink was barely drinkable but by this point we were done dealing with the bartender and because of the rain we didn't feel like searching for a new place. We sat and talked and made the most of it but not a good first impression. This was a Friday night and the bar had several customers but by no means was it crowded.

Yelp
As a HOTEL, Foundry Suites is not satisfactory. We arrived after a late Tuesday evening flight to find the outer doors locked and no one answering the phone or responding to our pounding on the windows by the reception desk. We were forced to make emergency arrangements elsewhere for the night. The next morning, we stopped by in person and found the hotel doors open but NO ONE around to talk to us and still no one answering the phone. So again we had to make arrangements elsewhere. Then we had to go through a hassle to avoid being charged as "no-shows" when canceling our reservation. While Foundry Suites might be a nice event space, and perhaps their hotel service is better on weekends, I would NOT recommend it for a week-night hotel stay.

Yelp
We scheduled a party in the lounge area and it was fantastic. The service was nothing short of terrific, prices are reasonable. The place itself is trendy and modern but still warm and inviting. We had the buffalo package which is wings pizza and beef on weck, all were very good and there was plenty to eat, all in all a great value and this is a very nice addition to buffalo!
