The Fox Inn

Set in the middle of a quiet Oxfordshire village and tucked out of the way. A very traditional pub where you receive a very warm and friendly welcome. The food is of the highest quality and the menu changes regularly. I organised a meal for 20 and ordered in advance with the usual vegetarian and gluten free mixture and all our food came out at the same time and everyone really enjoyed their meals. having found this hidden gem many have returned for lunch or supper!! Great food great hosts traditional village pub what more can you ask for?!!

We enjoyed a fantastic early Xmas get together meal this weekend at The Fox Inn. The manager John was so accommodating over the weeks whilst we were setting everything up for our group of 15 coming from all over England. On the day we had a lovely room all to ourselves off the main bar, with a beautiful long table able to seat us all decked out beautifully with crackers! Although some of us were over 30min late the food still came out hot and perfectly cooked, I can personally recommend the mushroom stroganoff and cheesecake! We all enjoyed lovely meals and drinks served by very attentive, friendly staff and we never had to wait for anything. The venue is a lovely, cosy, atmospheric little local pub/restaurant and I couldn't recommend it more.

We stopped for dinner on our way past. Food was delicious. Staff were so friendly. Man behind bar who took our food order was so nice. Very pleasant dinner sitting outdoors in the late evening sunshine. Highly recommend

This is our favourite place to eat in Oxfordshire. My partner and I have been there many times to eat as well as with her parents on occasion. The owners are always friendly and recognise us every time. The staff are super efficient and the chefs are magicians. The food is absolutely divine. Genuinely the best Sunday roast there is. I highly recommend this place but make sure to book in advance as it's very popular.

Souldern is a beautiful quiet north Oxfordshire village. The Fox sits just off the Main Street. Very small bar/restaurant. Very friendly staff. Swift service. Typical Sunday lunch menu with a few specials on the board. Mrs went for the roast pork (a little bland), I had the gammon, egg and chips (very good). Nice wines. Nice selection of classic pub puds. Coffees and warm brownie. Very good. Decent value for £60.

Fabulous Sunday roast!! We managed to squeeze in last minute on Sunday and what a great decision. The roast beef was of the highest quality with perfect roast potatoes Yorkshire pudding vegetables and gravy. Absolutely loved it. Delicious crumble for dessert all washed down with a couple of glasses of excellent Malbec. |Can’t recommend The Fox highly enough - lovely pub great food and friendly locals!! Perfect.

One of the typical English pubs that manage on the brink. ||Lovely old Cotswolds stone old pub in a pretty village a couple of miles from the M40.||Staff are very friendly and work hard. Beer is good. Food is good enough staple pub grub. ||Decor inside has been spruced up and the garden is pleasant but a little scruffy in parts and would have been a big asset to the pub this year. But alas no. ||I suggest the good folk check out some of the most successful pubs in the area and see what can be learned. Only the good ones are still going and rest have not bothered or found the right formula and had to close.||Keep going guys.

An absolutely lovely, characterful village pub, full of atmosphere and locals as it should be. Great food (the sea bass was exceptional) and great service from the loveliest staff, can’t recommend it highly enough. If only we could transport it home to the Isle of Wight…!
